BALLARD -- Katherine Mary Ballard, Our beloved Kate passed away on September 18, 2010 in Tucson, Arizona. She was born in Menomonee Falls, WI to David Kirby and Patricia (Bergman) Kirby on May 22, 1962. Kate is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth and Casey McNulty; sisters, Mary Brown, Joan Kirby-Hromas, Elizabeth Torpy and husband Brent, Mary Kay English and husband Mark; brother Michael Kirby and wife Lisa; along with many wonderful aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to thank her Raytheon family for their outpouring of support and prayers, Tucson Oncology Associates for their professional yet personal attention and Tucson Medical Center's Hospice-- "Peppi's House" for their loving care and support. As requested, her life will be celebrated with a private family memorial service to be held at a later date. BARTH -- Don L. Barth was reunited with his twin sister Donna and his parents Sol and Ruth Barth on Sunday, October 24, 2010. He will be remembered by his wife of 30 years, Dotti; son, Matt and wife Krystle; sister, Linda; and brothers, Chuck and Jim and wife Kat; as well as many family and friends. Don was most proud of his service in the US Army 25th Infantry in Vietnam from 1966-67. Don will be remembered as a great story-teller and master of BS. A celebration of Don's life will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., at French - University Chapel. Burial with honors will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. BROUGHTON -- Gary P. Broughton age 61, passed away October 20, 2010 in Holiday, Florida after a battle with cancer. He was a long time resident of Albuquerque, served in USAF. He was a member of the American Legion, and Am-vet post 98. He moved to Florida in 1992 to help with the "hurricane Andrew" recovery. He is survived by two brothers, Dale (and wife)and Gregg Broughton; numerous cousins; a niece; nephews and many beloved friends. cremation has taken place. He was loved and will be truly missed!!!!

FERRARO -- James L. Ferraro, 38, a resident of Rio Rancho, NM passed away Monday, October 25, 2010. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. "Pampa", as he was called by his grandbabies who loved him dearly. He was a New York Giants fanatic! He loved everyone and was loved by everyone who was blessed to know him. His smile lit up our hearts and his laughter lit up our lives. Words can never describe the impact he made on our lives. JANSAK -- Anne Christine Jansak, 88, a resident of Longmont, CO, died Saturday, October 23, 2010 at the Applewood Living Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene J. Jansak. She is survived by a daughter, Jan Jansak of Santa Barbara, CA; a son, Eugene Jansak and spouse Barbara, of Longmont, CO; a grandson, John Bassist; a granddaughter, Joy Ann Trust; and four great-grandsons; David, Bryan, Daniel and Brendyn. During WWII, Anne worked tirelessly manufacturing submarine parts in support of the military then continued a 30 year drafting career in the electronics manufacturing industry. After retirement, Anne volunteered her time driving and leading hiking trips with the Palo Duro Senior Center in Albuquerque, NM. After moving to Longmont, she continued to volunteer time at St. John The Baptist School and at Longmont United Hospital. Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling with her husband, family and friends. Interment will take place Friday, October 29, 2010 at Highland Cemetery in Thornton, CO. A memorial service is planned for November 1, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church at 323 Collyer St. in Longmont, CO.

LOPEZ -- Gilbert "Randy" Lopez passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 after a short illness in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family and friends. He is survived by his mother Virginia Lopez; loving wife Margie of 12 years; daughter Tina Leyba and her husband Raymond; step-sons, Chris Candelaria, Dominique Benavidez and Eddie; step-daughter, Connie; sisters, Yvonne Ramirez, Gloria Lopez-Orona and her husband John; sister-in-law, Marilyn DeLaRosa; and his grandsons, Anthony Leyba and Chris Candelaria. He is preceeded in death by his father Epifanio Lopez and his brother Eugene Lopez. He is loved and will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. MABRY -- Janet Dolores Mabry (Grow), 71, on October 25, 2010 the angels came and took her home while she was surrounded by her loving family. MCCANNA -- Peter F. McCanna, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away at age 88, on Saturday, October 23, 2010. He is survived by daughters, Ellen Jones of Riverton, WY and Janet McCanna of Santa Fe, NM; grandson, Christopher Jones and wife, Francesca of Riverton, WY; three great-grandchildren, Brett, Aidan and Ashlyn; and his sister, Janet King and her husband Vernon, of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph E. McCanna, Jr.; and sister, Peggy Brennan, both of Albuquerque. Peter was a member of a pioneer Albuquerque family that has been connected with the real estate and insurance business here since the late 1800's that his grandfather, P.F. McCanna began. Since the end of World War II, Peter had been with P.F. McCanna Inc. until he began his own establishment of Peter McCanna and Co real estate and insurance firm in 1963. Peter was a 1940 graduate of St. Mary High School, where he was a basketball star and also played football. He played two years of basketball at the University of New Mexico before entering the Coast Guard in 1942. He was a quartermaster on ships in the Pacific during World War II. He was one of the Founders and a Director of Casa Angelica, President and Director of the Better Business Bureau, Council Vice-president and Director of St. Josephs Hospital, Director of the YMCA Board, Board President and Director of the Albuquerque Downtown Association, Director and Member of the Kiwanis Club, Campaign Chairman of The Peopless Committee that elected Pete Domenici, Harry Kinney and John Gurule to the Albuquerque City Commission, Vice-president of the Albuquerque Zoning Commission, Director of the Albuquerque Urban Renewal Board, Director of the Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce, Director of the Family Health Center Board, Director of The Private Industry Council, Director of St. Francis Gardens Health Center, Chairman of the 1993 St. Mary's Centennial, member of the Board of Directors of the Home Savings and Loan Board, Second Vice-president of the New Mexico Insurers Inc, on Board of Directors for Sandia Savings and Loan, President and Director of the New Mexico Association of Insurance Agents, Vice-president of the Albuquerque Board of Realtors, received Realtor of the Year in 1965, second person in the State to receive his CCIM Designation, President of the CCIM & CPM Boards, and Director of Blue Cross/Blue Shield of New Mexico. MCCOOL -- Altha McCool, a long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away Friday, October 22, 2010, in Norwalk, California at the age of 94. She was preceded in death by her husband, Terry McCool, October 25, 2000. She is survived by her three sons: Gary and his wife Alexis of Lincoln, CA, Larry and his wife Patricia of Downey, CA, and Dennis and his wife Jackie of Lemoore, CA; five grandchildren: Lance, Robert, Chris, Ryan, and Dennis Arlen; and two great-grandchildren: William and Megan; She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins, all of Missouri. We also wish to acknowledge Yvonne Salazar whom she loved liked a daughter. Altha was born in Jacket, Missouri on June 29, 1916, to Charles and Francis Forgey. She had two sisters, Edna Callis and Pansy Hall, who have both preceded her in passing. Her son, Gerald, also preceded her in death at birth. Altha and Terry moved to Albuquerque for health reasons about 1942, where they remained until August 2000 when they relocated to California to be near their sons. But, Albuquerque was always their home, and to their home they wished to return. Terry and Altha were long time members of the Sombre Del Monte Christian Church and one of the founding families of North Albuquerque Christian Church. She was a long time employee of Lovelace Clinic. Services will be held Saturday, October 30, 2010, 10:00 a.m., at Chester T. MEZZAPESO -- Margaret E. Mezzapeso, 87, Poland - There will be funeral services at 9:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Church in Poland for Margaret E. Mezzapeso who passed away early Tuesday morning, October 26, 2010. Margaret was born June 8, 1923 in Youngstown, the daughter of Ralph and Theresa (Cassesse) Jordon. She was employed at Plakie Toys, Moyers Pants and Domunique's Slacks as a seamstress. Margaret moved to Las Vegas in 1986 where she was a member of Holy Family Church and a Eucharistic Minister. She returned to the area in 2005 and has been a member of Holy Family Church in Poland. Her husband, Peter Mezzapeso, whom she married October 14, 1944, passed away June 18, 2006. Margaret will always be remembered by her son, Stephen A. Sr. (Rose Marie) Mezzapeso of Poland; a son-in-law, Thomas Volchko, Jr. of Rio Rancho, N.M.; a daughter-in-law, Erlina Mezzapeso of Virginia Beach, Va; eight grandsons, Stephen Mezzapeso, Jr. of Poland, Scott Mezzapeso of Sharon, Rocco Volchko of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Allan (Stashia) Mezzapeso, Peter (Brandi) Mezzapeso, Stephen (Janine) Mezzapeso and Richard (Florence) Mezzapeso, all of Virginia Beach, Virginia and James Mezzapeso of Saipan; a granddaughter, Regina (Adam) Schacht of Cincinnati; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Ralph (Betty) Jordon, Jr. of Canfield and Vincent (Andrea) Jordon of Albuquerque, New Mexico; brother-in-law Frank (Irene) Mezzapeso of Youngstown, brother-in-law Martin Mikolaj of Girard and sister-in-law Mary Caputo of Boston, Ma. REEDY -- Palmer C. Reedy long time resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at the age of 79. Palmer was born on June 1, 1931 in Clintwood, VA. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Gloria; and children, Dianna and husband, William Hoffman, Charles and wife, Cindy Reedy, Christian and wife, Marya Reedy, Shirley and husband, Doug Mitchell, and Agatha and husband, Vaughn Fulton. Palmer had a loving family of 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren, with one on the way. He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Claude Reedy. He was a successful businessman of 44 years, founder of Palmer Reedy Tire Company established on September 1, 1966. Palmer is a member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, a Veteran, an avid gardener and baseball fanatic. His rosary will be held at Nativity Church located at Fourth and Alameda at 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, October 28, 2010. Mass will be held at Nativity Church at 9:00 a.m., on Friday, October 29, 2010 followed by interment at 1:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. ROMINE -- Maria Marcella Dolores Romine was born May 29, 1932 and passed away October 24, 2010, after a lengthy illness. Marcia, as she was called by family and friends, was born in Abo, NM. The family moved to Vaughn, NM when she was 13. Marcia graduated from Vaughn High School and lived in Vaughn until 1968 when she moved to California. She returned to live in Albuquerque in 2007. Marcia loved God and her faith never wavered. She was always willing to help where she could, never expecting anything in return. Family was very important to her. Her love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandson was abundant and unconditional. Her siblings were her best friends. She was extremely fond and proud of all her nieces and nephews and they all reciprocated that love. Marcia was the family historian. She had a keen sense of recollection and would regale the family with stories of ancestors and life as a child in Abo. She loved music and dancing. She had a quick wit and could always think of a clever prank to play on her kids. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, Juan Blas and Gregorita Flores; and her son Fabian. She is survived by son Greg Romine; granddaughter Danielle Romine, whom she raised from birth; Danielle's son Eric; and grandchildren, Fabian, Gabriel, and Alicia Romine; Other survivors include sisters, Ramona Mata and husband Bill, Helen Flores, Margaret Storey and husband Gilbert, Sally Chavez and husband Dennis, Connie Griego and husband Nick, Kathy Silva and husband Roman; brother Manuel Flores and Ethel Griego; and 19 nieces and nephews and their families. STRASCINA -- John (Jak) Strascina born November 20, 1946 in Buffalo, NY to Vincent and Madalynne Strascina passed away October 24, 2010 of pneumonia. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Yvonne Strascina; son, Ian and wife, Katie; daughter, Meghan; grandson, Gavin Strascina; mother, Madalynne; brother, Peter and wife, Linda; and many nieces and nephews. He was a 34-year employee of Sandia Labs where he worked as a lab technician. His interests included snow skiing, camping, bowling, creating stained glass artwork, racing his '67 Mustang, and working in his garden. His attention to detail was evident in all he did. His sense of humor was contagious, and the memories he left behind will be remembered with laughter. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. Special thanks to those who helped take care of him: Pres. Hospice, PCM nurses, our caretakers, neighbors, family, friends. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday, October 29, 2010 6:30 p.m., at Daniels Funeral Services, Wyoming Chapel. Reception immediately following the services will be held in the sunroom. TORREZ -- Manuel Torrez (ToTo), 78, past away Sunday, October 24, 2010 in Albuquerque, NM. He is survived by his wife of over 40 years Peggy Torrez; daughter Lupe Torres partner Michael Johnson Jr.; son Carlos Torrez; son U.S. Army Sgt. Efren Torrez; daughter Tish Hunick, husband Leonard; 11 grandkids:Willie Amador Jr. partner Denise Lucero, Charles Torres, Diana Amador, partner Cory Marquez, Vincent Torrez, Cristine Spencer, Rachel Torres, Ashley Spencer, Daniel Torrez, Manuel Rey Hunick; two great-grandkids, Domanic Amador, Valerie Amador; brother Ramon Torres-Hernandez; mother-in-law Sadie Sandoval; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
