CRABLE -- Lois Marie Crable, 78, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2010 at home, surrounded by her family. She was born July 7, 1932 to Robert and Cora Mae Hicks in Tryon, Oklahoma. Lois has been a resident of Albuquerque for 52 years. She was a great wife, mother, and grandmother. Lois enjoyed fishing and trips to the mountains. Her home was always filled with the joy of kids, if not her own, her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin S. Crable in 2000. She is survived by four daughters, Vicky Jackson, Leslie Lancaster and husband Randy, Luella Dorcas and husband Eric, Penny Russell and husband Bucky; two sons, Tommy Crable and wife Cheryl, and Roy Crable; ten grandchildren, Bobby Lee and wife Veronica, David Lee and wife Ellen, Parker and Preston Lancaster, Corey Dorcas, Mandy and Riley Russell, Semele Crable, Randy Crable, and Stephanie Crable; three great-grandchildren, Bobby, Shaylynn, and Fisher Lee; as well as many other family and friends who loved and will miss her. ECKEL -- Anthony Joseph Eckel, 90, a resident of Rio Rancho NM since 1978 passed away October 3, 2010. He is survived by his wife Mary Eckel; Two cousins, Walter McReady of Pennsylvania and Mary Schoenfeld of New Jersey. He was preceded in death by his parents. Anthony was an active member of VFW Post 5890 serving as Past District Commander, Past District ll Commander and Past Post Commander. GARCIA -- Jose Antonio "Tony Red", age 74, a resident of Pueblitos, N.M., peacefully passed away on Friday, October 1, 2010, surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. Jose was former Magistrate Judge for two years for Valencia County. He retired from the Santa Fe Railroad and the New Mexico Correctional Facility. Tony Red loved hunting, being outdoors and traveling, seeing the country. He especially loved spending time with his family and watching sports. Tony Red was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Carolina Sanchez-Garcia; sisters, Juanita and Dulcinea Garcia; son-in-law, Carlos L. Moreno and granddaughter, Jana Justin Garcia. Tony Red is survived by his daughters, Magdalena "Maggie" Garcia and Nichol Moreno; sons, Jose "Hawaiian Joey" Garcia and wife, Rosa and Andre Garcia and wife, Diane; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Edenio and Corrine Garcia, Gilbert and Mary Garcia, Pete Garcia and Sylvia Aragon-Palacio and Frank and Lupe Garcia and his sisters, Christina and Mike Gonzales and Priscilla and Isaac Tarin. GARCIA -- Maya Estasi Garcia, one, a resident of Albuquerque NM passed away October 2, 2010. During the small amount of time here on earth Maya was a large blessing to many. At first glance a smile was brought to anyone's face. Moments later any room could be heard with the most loving laughter. She was the love that connected people that individually knew her. Maya was the inspiration for new lives to many. Maya taught people that having family is the key to any successful life. She enjoyed every bit of life form the giving hugs to pairs of people, to eating fries and nuggets from her happy meals. Maya loved going for her evening walks around her house and visiting parks with a swing set near by. She never missed bath time because bubbles were her favorite. Compared to butterflies and bees she was a free spirited infant in search of love. She will be sorely missed by all. Maya's family ask that people pray for Maya. GRAY -- Victor M. Gray Jr., 67, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on October 3, 2010. Mr. Gray is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Mrs. Orelia ( Rae) Gray; his son, Fred Cleer; two grandchildren, Felicia Cleer, and Justin Cleer; his aunts, Arlene WIlson, and Ruth Auld and husband, Pete; extended Ruben Vigil members and friends. Mr. Gray was preceded in death by his mother, Naomi Adams; his stepfather, Leo Coerten; and his grandmother, Hilda Rice. Mr. Gray was Veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam Era, and was retired from U.S. West Communications. KLEIN -- Virgil M. Klein, born in Big Springs, Texas, July 4, 1934 passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2010. He was preceded in death by his son Virgil C. Klein; and son-in-law Thomas E. Dietzler. He survived by his wife of 56 years, Jo H. Klein; his daughter Peggy Dietzler; granddaughter Tobie Webb, her husband Darren Webb; great-grandson Ethan Webb; grandson Joshua Klein, his wife Meiling Klein; an great-granddaughters, Dylan and Evie Klein. Virgil was the owner of Virgil Klein Drywall where he touched many lives of those that he worked with and those that worked for him. He was avid golfer winning the high school championship when he was still in middle school. Virgil had a wonderful time playing golf and fishing with his family. Tats, you will always be with us and we miss you so much. We will see you on the other side. MANZANARES -- ERNEST D. MANZANARES, 88, passed away peacefully at the El Castillo Retirement Community in Santa Fe, New Mexico on September 22, 2010. He was born in La Cueva, NM, on February 9, 1922. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Maria Rita Trujillo; grandfather Isidoro Campos; mother Rufina Campos; and father Ernesto Manzanares; brothers, Eddie and Albert Williams; sisters, Julia Zamora and Esther Maestas; and his beloved wife Frances Medina Manzanares. He had no children. He is survived by two brothers, George Williams and Roger Williams both of Albuquerque, three sisters Grace Castro of Salinas, CA, Kate Griego of Albuquerque, and Mary Lou Castillo of San Diego, CA and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Ernest grew up in Mora attending elementary and high school. In 1939 at 17 years of age he joined the United States Civilian Conservation Corp. 831ST and worked building and improving trails in Carlsbad Caverns National Park. In 1941 he enlisted in the U.S. Army joining Company C of the 120th Engineer Combat Battalion. He served in WWII in Algeria, Sicily, Italy, France and Germany. He participated in battles and campaigns in Sicily, Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, Southern France, and Rhineland Central Europe. He received the Bronze Star Medal for heroic achievement in action on October 23, 1944 near Fremifontaine, France, and was awarded a Purple Heart for wounds received March 26, 1945 in Germany. After the war, he worked at Jacuzzi Company, Assembly Division in Richmond, California and in New Mexico building facilities at Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory. During this time, his working partner Alvin Kemper introduced him to his wife's (Preddy) sister, Frances Medina of Cleveland, New Mexico. Ernest and Frances were married in Santa Fe, NM on February 10, 1951 and moved to California where he worked in the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades until 1974 constructing many commercial buildings and skyscrapers in Los Angeles, California during the 1950's, 60's, and 70's. Ernest and Frances lived in Venice, California for 20 years, two blocks from Venice Beach. Family and friends enjoyed their hospitality on visits to Venice Beach that usually included beachcombing, Disneyland, and nightclubbing. They later resided in Santa Monica, California, and then in Seal Beach, California. He and Frances retired in 1974 and moved to Farmington, NM to live near Alvin and Preddy Kemper. They enjoyed living in New Mexico and this allowed them to camp, fish and be near family and friends in Farmington, Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Mora. Ernest continued to work in Farmington on jobs with Kemper Construction and for Western Drywall until his complete retirement in 1990. After Frances died in 2003, Ernest decided to move to Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2004 to be cared for by his niece and nephew Geraldine and David J. Salazar. In Santa Fe he lived at the Rosemont, Santa Fe Care Center, and for the last two years at the El Castillo. A Rosary will be held at Berardinelli Funeral Home in Santa Fe on Wednesday October 6, 2010 at 7:00 PM. Mass will be celebrated Thursday October 7, 2010, 10:00 a.m., at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi. Internment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. The family would like to thank all past and recent caregivers at the Rosemont, Santa Fe Care Center and especially El Castillo for their hard work, friendship, and professional care. PUCCETTI -- Palmyra Tomei Puccetti, known by her family and friends as Pal, passed away quietly in her sleep, October 1, 2010. She had just turned 92. A lifelong resident of Albuquerque, Pal was preceded in death by her parents, Leonello and Ida, both Italian immigrants; her sister Olympia; and her two brothers, Eugene and Jules. She has left behind her niece, Melida; her niece Suzy; and her nephew, Joe, all of Albuquerque; as well as a nephew Gene and his two daughters; and a niece Leonore and her three children; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Pal was a devout Catholic and an active parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima for many years. Her compassion extended to many friends until she was no longer able to care for herself. Her smile and twinkling eyes will be missed by those who loved her. SANCHEZ -- Joe B. Sanchez, 78, passed away Friday, October 1, 2010 after a long difficult fight. Joe loved hunting, fishing or anything outdoors, making people laugh with his jokes, but above all Joe loved his family with his whole heart. Joe is survived by his loving children Charles Sanchez, Raymond Sanchez, Rosalie (Ro) Sanchez, Edwin (Ed) Sanchez and fiance Frankie Madrano, Deborah Salgado, and Yvette Sanchez and fiance Paul Chavez; his grandchildren Marie, Vivian, Raymond Jr., Anthony, Veronica, Adriana, Joseph, Vanessa, Mary and Crystal; eight great-grandchildren; with two great-great grandchildren on the way; and his brother Lorenzo Sanchez and wife Judith. Joe, our beloved dad is in a better place than he's ever been before. All his pain is gone, he's now at rest, nothing troubles him anymore; it's we who feel the pain of our sadness and our grief, we have to cry, to mourn our loss before we get relief. He will look over all us and help guide us through life's many challenges. We know we'll all meet with him again and see his cherished face. When our day comes he'll be waiting for us with open arms. VEITZ -- Scott Oliver Veitz, 62, passed away in Albuq, N.M. on September 30, 2010. He was born in Albuq, N.M. on February 9, 1948. Parents were Jack Veitz and Ruth Kouri. Grandparents were Ike and Anna Mae "Granny" Eichelberger. His siblings are Shelly Groves (deceased), Richard Veitz, Patti Midkiff, Marcanne Beck and Dana Kouri. He had a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from UNM. He was a proud Marine that served in Vietnam. He received two Purple Hearts and a Silver Star. He was employed by Mountain Bell. He enjoyed golf, bowling, fishing, painting, watching SyFy movies and he was a huge Dallas Cowboy fan. He worked with children as a guest art instructor at Marie Hughes Elementary School. Scott is survived by his wife of 41 years, Connie Louise Veitz of Albuq. He is also survived by his daughter Staci Tethal and his son Ryan Veitz. He was most proud of his granddaughters Haley and Alyssa. In addition Willis and Louise Hardy, Aunt Mavis Park, William, Karen, Adrianne and Chris Madison and Pokie were an important part of his life for many years. His place of interment will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery where the initial service will be held, October 8, 2010 at the at 9:30, located at 501 North Guadalupe Street, Santa Fe, NM 87501, (505) 988-6400. There will be a local service on 10/08 at The UNM Alumni Chapel at 12:00, located at 1 University of New Mexico, MSC 01-1160, Albuq, NM 87131. WELLER -- Louis L. Weller, 74, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2010. Louis loved playing golf, skiing, hiking, hunting, fishing, a big UNM sports fan and roller coaster enthusiast. He was collector of Indian Artifacts and an avid world traveler. Bass, Randy Weller and wife, Virginia Newman-Weller; grandchildren Jade and Jenna Bass, Felicia and Leslie Weller; and one great-grandson en route Dalton Louis Bass-Lundy; mother Mayme I. Weller; sister Faye Ward and husband, Larry Jaramillo; and brother Joe Weller and wife, Martha Weller. Mr. Weller was preceded in death by his daughter, Dawna L Weller.
