BENTZ -- Leon P. "Bubby" Bentz passed away unexpectedly on September 6, 2010 in Prescott Valley, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 50 years, Marilyn. He is survived by his five children, Athena and husband Mike Trujillo of Clayton, NM, son Gregory and wife Irene, daughter Holli and husband Billy Robinson, son Edward and wife Ava, all of Albuquerque and daughter Stacey and husband Brian of Gilbert, AZ; Leon was the grandfather of ten and great-grandfather of three; He is also survived by his sister Jacqueline and her husband Richard Bird of Marcus, IA and their nine children and extended family. Leon retired after 25 years of service in the USAF and numerous years at the VA Hospital. A memorial mass is scheduled at Our Lady of the Annunciation Church at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2010. Interment will follow at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe at 1:00 p.m.

BURDITCH -- Nathan Burditch, a resident of Albuquerque, and former resident of Santa Fe, NM, died on September 9, 2010. He moved from Chesterbrook, PA in 1966. A veteran of the US Army, he is survived by his loving and devoted spouse of 55 years, Marylin Geraldine Stein Burditch of Albuquerque, NM, who will sadly miss him; caring and devoted children, Paul Stewart Burditch of San Francisco, CA and Alyssa Beth Burditch of Carmel Valley, CA; proud grandson, Jason Burditch McKenzie of Carmel Valley, CA; sister, Evelyn Ann Burditch of California, and his best friend, LuLu. Mr. Burditch was a businessman for almost 50 years starting with his companies, Strafford Builders and Parkway Fund Company in Philadelphia, PA and Town and Country Restoration, Philadelphia, PA. His talents earned him the high level of expertise to construct multi-level homes and historical renovations including Hidden Lane Farms, Amityville, PA, circa 1718, which was on the Historical Trail in the Bicentennial Issue of Reader's Digest, 1976. He was an associate with Builders Direct and The Window Connection in Albuquerque, NM. He gained the admiration and respect of all of his clients. His passion for animals included raising Arabian horses, his Wire Fox Terriers, Old English Sheep Dogs, and all other farm animals. An avid reader, his interest in sports and his business prowess gave him the link to make him admired and respected by all he met. Friends are welcome to come to the National Cemetery in Santa Fe on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 1:30p.m. where Rabbi Howard Kosovske of Temple Albert in Albuquerque will officiate. CARROLL -- Charles Byron Carroll, age 70, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on Friday, September 10, 2010. He was born on October 4, 1939 in Texarkana, Arkansas and moved to Albuquerque in 2001. Charles is survived by his daughters, Lorena Glaser and Laura Powell; son-in-laws, John Glaser and Jim Powell; grandkids, Christina, Kaitlynn, and Lauren; and nieces, Delilah Dillingham, Marie Kincaid, and Rebecca Goodson. Charles served in the Army during the Korean War and upon returning, began working as an oil draftsman. Interment of cremated remains will take place on Friday, September 17, 2010 at 1:30 pm at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 Guadalupe Road, Santa Fe, NM. KUJAWA -- Theresa C. Kujawa, 76, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2010. She was born in Cleveland, OH, graduated from John Adams High School, was a travel agent with the Department of Defense at Kirtland, and was a volunteer at Lovelace Medical Center for many years. She was preceded in death by her son Anthony Adam Kujawa, III and her parents Helen and Joseph Stawarski. Theresa is survived by her husband of 54 years, Anthony; son Joseph; sisters, Dolores A. Reule of Albuquerque, Loretta and her husband Myron Bakan, Audrey Randazzo; brother Ernest Stawarski and wife Barbara all of Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be Tuesday, September 14, 2010, 10:00 a.m. at French Lomas Chapel. MARTINEZ -- Frank L. Martinez, born October 4, 1926 to Marcos and Eufemia Martinez went to be with his Lord on Saturday, September 11, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Benita Martinez; his daughters Gloria Giron and husband Rick, Yolanda Flowers and husband Wade; his grandchildren Jamie Matthews, Krissy Matthews, Richard Giron II and wife Alisa, Mollie Matthews; and two great grandchildren Neesa and Amari Anaya; his siblings Marcos Martinez, Mary Padilla, Henry Martinez, Rosie Montoya; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his eldest brother Mike Martinez. A Rosary will be recited by Lita Pino on Monday evening September 13, 2010 at 7:00 pm in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 9:00 a.m., Our Lady of The Most Holy Rosary Parish, 5415 Fortuna Rd, NW. Burial Ceremonies will take place at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM at 1:30 pm. The pallbearers will be all his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers are his sons-in-law Rick Giron, Wade Flowers and Wendell Matthews. Frank was a Korean War Veteran and worked for the Forest Service and Civil Service until he retired in 1991. He was full of life and laughter. He loved to play his accordian and loved wood carving as well. And most of all, he loved his family. He will be dearly missed. SMITH -- Charles Wayne Smith passed away in early September, aged 53. He was preceded in death by his parents, B.E. and Marguerite and is survived by older brother James A. and wife Vicki, of Albuquerque; older sister Cheryl Walstrom and husband Chuck of Rio Rancho; and a twin sister, Wanda Sanders and husband John of Dumas, Texas. Charles was born, raised and mostly lived in Albuquerque for all of his life, leaving by choice only to serve in the Navy. In his later years, he worked for Cliff's Amusement Park, bowled and visited his "mountain retreat" near El Vado as often as he could. Everyone who knew him loved his gentle soul and quick smile. He was quick to help, always smiling and loved his 49ers. A memorial gathering will be held in the chapel of Hoffmantown Church, 8888 Harper NE at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, September 13, 2010.
