ADA -- Jonathan David Ada, 18, loving son, brother and friend was called home on August 28, 2010. Jonathan was born December 15, 1991 to his proud parents David and Valerie. He also is survived by his two wonderful sisters, Davina and Ramona Gallegos; and his grandmothers, Elizabeth Hendren and Josepha Ada; and numerous other friends and family. Jonathan was a fun loving kid who enjoyed playing video games, listening to rock music, going to the movies and rock concerts, but above all Jonathan loved spending time with his family and friends. BACA -- Robert Ray Randolph Baca was born April 30, 1962 and passed away August 27, 2010 in Warner Robbins, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Baca; He is survived by the love of his life, Loretta Seacat; his daughter Reanna Sillivan; grandson Jason Sillivan; his mother Alice Lujan; step-father, Frank E. Lujan; his sisters, Sylvia Elaine Baca, Theresa Bramer, Trudi Baca, Cecilia Baca and Lisa Vigil; three step-brothers; two step-sisters; nieces, nephews and many close friends. COTINOLA -- Nestora "Ester" Cotinola, 89, a resident of Albuquerque NM, passed away peacefully with her family by her side Saturday, August 28, 2010. DAVIS -- William Davis, age 77, of Albuquerque, was born on April 21, 1933 in New Jersey and passed away from a brief illness on August 28, 2010. Bill was preceded in death by Norma, his wife of 50 years. He is survived by his children, Tom Davis and his wife Dana, Kathleen Davis and her husband Robert Wengrod and Susan McGinnis. He is also survived by grandchildren Erica, Jaki, Tommy and Claire. Bill and his family moved from New York in 1974 to start a plumbing Business. HARLEY -- Joseph Baldridge Harley, 88, resident of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2010. He is survived by his son, Wayne Harley; granddaughters, Joelle Hardesty and husband, Robert, and Lesla Andrews and husband, Robert; two great-grandchildren, Corbin and Grayson; step-son, Dave Speer and wife, Jean; and step-granddaughters, Lauren and Erin. He was preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Katherine Harley; wife of 30 years, Mary Harley; and wife, Scott Trinosky. Joe was born in Dulce, NM in 1922 to William P. Harley and Alma Baldridge Harley. He served as President of Baldridge Lumber until his retirement in 1988. He was a pioneer in the home center concept in NM. Joe was a member of Sigma Chi Beta Xi chapter at UNM and was also a graduate of the UNM Business School. He was a founding member of Executive Association of Greater Albuquerque. Joe was a UNM letterman in skiing and a Lobo Club member. He was an avid fly fisherman and bird hunter. Joe served in the Navy during WWII as a Lt. JG. He then retired from the Naval Reserve in Albuquerque as Commander. Memorial services will be held Thursday, September 2, 2010, 2:00 p.m., at French - Westside Chapel. HERRERA -- Reyna S. Herrera, 90, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on September 1, 2010 at home with her loving family at her side. Mrs. Herrera is survived by her children, Clara H. Galloway and husband, Cedric, Irene Blea and husband, John, Senaida Romero Charley and husband, Tom, Pulidor Herrera, Cristobal Sanchez Herrera and wife, Arleen, Fred Herrera and wife, Yolanda, and Donna Marsico and husband, Steve; 29 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; and many other extended family members. LADOUX -- Wilfred J. LaDoux, a resident of Albuquerque since October of 1970 passed away Saturday, August 28, 2010. He was 85. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Lenoir Kelly LaDoux, and three sisters, Evelyn Mollergren of Snowball Lake, Minnesota, Carol Simonson of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, and Ramona Nordin of Granbury, Texas. He is also survived by a son, Thomas D. LaDoux, a daughter, Debra J. LaDoux and a granddaughter, Kea M. LaDoux all of Albuquerque. "Frenchie" as he was known to his friends, had been suffering from COPD for many years passed away at his home in Northeast Albuquerque. He was born at Waubun, Minnesota on the White Earth reservation on December 18, 1924. He graduated from Greenway High School in Coleraine, Minnesota in 1942 and enlisted in the U. S. Army. He served with the 1st Cavalry Division in the South Pacific until his release from active duty in 1946. In July of that year he married Dorothy Lenoir Kelly. He returned to active duty with the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and remained in the Air Force until his retirement in March of 1974. "Frenchie" was an avid sportsman playing baseball, softball, and basketball. In later years golf and bowling became his favorites. LUCERO -- M. Carmel, 78, passed away Friday evening, August 27, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luis and Gregorita Martinez of Chaparito, NM; a brother Tommy; and a sister, Mary. She is survived by her daughter, Theresa Maria; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Trinidad and Alfred ; sisters, Joann, Geo, and Angie. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Legion of Mary Auxillary, Eucharistic Adoration Chapel and Parish Volunteer. She was retired from Mountain Bell Telephone (now known as Qwest). MARK-KAEFER -- Sonia Blanche Mark-Kaefer passed away in Albuquerque, NM on September 1, 2010. The only child of Lawrence N. Haas and Dorothy Ewing Haas, she was 79 years old. She is survived by her husband of twelve years, Charles Kaefer, and was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Glenn Gilbert Mark in 1996. Mrs. Mark Kaefer was a school teacher for 28 years in the Panama School District of Bakersfield, California where she taught Fourth Grade and Reading. She also served in numerous local and statewide roles in the California Teachers Association and retired in 1989. She taught two years in Saudi Arabia when Glenn worked in the oil business there and she traveled to more than two dozen international destinations during her life. Sonia sang alto in church choirs for 45 years and was quite active in church service of all kinds at First Christian Church (Bakersfield) and Rio Rancho United Methodist Church. She was a big supporter of missions and special ministries and the family asks for a contribution to Rio Rancho United Methodist Church Mission Fund in lieu of flowers. Sonia's first son Brian became a teacher and principal at Panama School District, too, and retired after 30 years to become a Methodist Minister this past summer. He and his wife Barbara Duck raised Bryan, Brent and Brooke. The boys are married to Melissa and Deanna, respectively. Bryan and Barbara are also teachers; all of them inspired by Sonia for many, many years. Her middle son Cliff is married to Lu Goodwin and has two children; Jesse Mark and Rachael Mark. All of them live in Austin, TX where Cliff is an author and Lu is an artist. Her youngest son Russell is married to Donna Mosman and is an architect and construction professional. They raised Brandon Mark (Attorney) and Marissa Mark Mundell (Uriah). There are three grandchildren (Phoebe, Hadassa, and Xander) with a fourth on the way. Sonia was blessed to have a second love story in her life and married Charles "Chuck" Kaefer in 1998. This brought another teacher into the family (Daughter Mary Kaefer) as well as another lover of music (Chuck's son Karl) and two outdoor enthusiasts (Chuck's eldest son Charles and his wife Jan). Sonia always derived great joy and comfort from her 'second" family and will miss them as she goes to see what other wonderful adventures her God has in store for her. She was uplifted and grateful for the many prayers and countless expressions of concern she received these past ten weeks and both her families are thankful to all who loved her. MAYFIELD -- Patricia Christine Wugofski Mayfield, 63, a resident of Tijeras since 1996, passed away Friday, August 27, 2010. She is survived by her daughter, Trish Payne; her son-in-law and grandson; Korigan and Bastian Payne; her father, Leon Wugofski; her sister Barbara Wugofski O'Neill; her nieces Janine and Jacqueline O'Neill all of Tijeras; and her brother Lee Wugofski and nephew Nicholas Wugofski of Pinole, CA. Ms. Mayfield was preceded in death by her mother Monique Leduc Wugofski. Ms. Mayfield obtained a Degree in Nursing from Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA and subsequently earned a degree from the University of Utah's Physician's Assistant Program. She worked in that capacity at the University of New Mexico's Neurosurgery Department before accepting a position in the Orthopedic Department at the VA Medical Center in Albuquerque where she has worked for the last twenty years. Ms. Mayfield also served as a Medical Instructor for the Sandia Area Ski Patrol. MOGEN -- Philip Conrad Mogen, 83, a resident of Albuquerque, NM for 33 years, passed away peacefully August 23, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 54 years, Darlene; and brothers, Hubert and Bryan. He is survived by his children: son Dr. Mark Mogen and his wife Karen of Aberdeen, South Dakota; daughter Karen Mogen of Albuquerque; and son Dr. Thomas Mogen and his wife Dr. Florence Mogen of Radford, Virginia. He is survived by his eleven grandchildren: Corey Holt and wife Janne, Melissa, Elizabeth, Matthew, Allison, and Rebecca Mogen of South Dakota, and Philip, Charles, William, Walker, and Samuel Mogen of Virginia. He is survived by two brothers: Iro Mogen of Yankton, South Dakota and Chris Mogen of Portland, OR. Philip was born to Gilbert and Helen Mogen in Ortonville, Minnesota on May 20, 1927. He grew up in Waubay South Dakota the middle son of five. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in August of 1945. After returning from the Army, Philip received a B.S. in Business from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD and then a Juris Doctor in Law in 1952. He followed older brother Bryan's career path by working for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). He spent 27 years as a special agent with the FBI starting his career in Charlotte, NC, then moving to New York, Chicago, Washington DC and finally, Albuquerque where he was ASAC. His last position with the Bureau was as an Inspector. After retiring from the FBI in 1979, Phil went into business with two other former agents starting the Maximum Security Agency. He then worked as an independent contractor for the Department of Energy. He loved his family both immediate and distant, and his many friends everywhere. His love of music, and church allowed him to sing, in baritone voice, with his church choir for the majority of his life. He was very active with the First Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque. PADILLA -- Domingo O. Padilla was born January 29, 1949 in Edgewood, New Mexico. He passed away Thursday, August 26, 2010 in Albuquerque, NM at the age of 61. Domingo is survived by his mother, Gertrude; brothers, Juan, and Gilbert; as well as other family and friends who loved and will miss him. PEREZ -- Cipriano Antonio Perez, age 84, passed away on August 31, 2010 at his residence in Encino following an illness. Cipriano was born on November 5, 1925 in Encino, NM to the home of Victor Sr. and Angelita Tenorio Perez. He was reared and attended schools in Encino. He served in the United States Navy for two years where he served in the Asiatic Pacific Area, he received the WW II Victory medal. Cipriano was a longtime cattle and sheep rancher in the Encino area. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Encino, a former member of the New Mexico Wool Growers Association, New Mexico Cattle Growers Association and the American Legion. Cipriano traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Spain He loved any kind of sports and would never miss any of his grandkids games. Cipriano is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Victor Perez, Jr., Andy Perez, Augustine Perez; sons, Victor L. Perez and Larry C. Perez; great- grandson, Matthew Horner. Survivors include his wife Corine Perez of the family home in Encino; his daughter, Lydia Perez-Romo and husband Sam of Albuquerque; his brother and sisters, Ernest E. Perez and wife Jewel of Encino, Mercedes Perez Cravens; sister- in- law, Bobbie Perez of Santa Fe; daughter- in- law, Lizzie Perez of Las Vegas, NM. Also surviving are his seven grandchildren, Lisa Sandoval, Ana Horner, Marla Trujillo, Isaac Perez, Abran Perez, Marissa Leeds and Larry C. PIERCE -- Carrell T. "Jack" Pierce, age 80, passed away on August 30, 2010 in Albuquerque, NM. Jack was born to C.L. and Beulah Pierce in Sweetwater, TX. Jack was a veteran, and served in the United States Army in the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953. He served his country with honor and was awarded various medals for his conduct in battle. Upon his return to the States, he attended West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas, where he lettered in football, playing center and linebacker. At WTSU, he met his wife of 55 years, Janelle. After graduating from WTSU, he became the football coach at Plains High School where he also taught science and mathematics. He was named Coach of the Year for the South Plains by the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal in 1960. In 1964, he entered the insurance business, and in 1967, moved with his family to Albuquerque to open his own general agency which he operated until his retirement in 2001. Jack was active in youth sports, coaching his sons and many others over the years. As President of Roadrunner Little League, he helped the league in its purchase of its Northeast Heights property and fields. He also served on the Board of the Young American Football League during the years he acted as coach. He was a longtime member of the Albuquerque Country Club and an avid golfer. He was a member of Sandia Baptist Church. Jack is survived by his wife Janelle; his son Chris Pierce and wife Karen; his son Patrick Pierce; his daughter Penny Rose and husband Kerry; grandchildren Kevin Baker, Krystle Repichowski, Erin Rose, Kathleen Fleming, Kristian Rose, Ryan Rose, Connor Pierce, John Pierce, and Maloy Pierce; great-grandchildren Joslyn and Kasey, and nieces, nephews, other family members, many valued friends and "pards". PRESTWOOD -- Cody W. Prestwood, age 78, of Los Lunas passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2010. Cody is survived by his son Niko; and brother Howard. He retired from the Valencia County Sheriff's Department after 45 years of service. Cody loved the work he did and the community he served. He always had a place in his heart for the children in the community, he helped develop both the Toys for Tots and the little league field in Los Lunas. RIMBERT -- Vivian Anita Rimbert was a life-long resident of New Mexico. She passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2010. Vivian is survived by her mother, Lucy Montoya; children, Mark Coucke and wife, Isabella, Donna Esquibel and husband, Mark, Sean Coucke and wife, Donna, Angel C. ROMERO -- Ellen C. Romero, 92, passed away August 17, 2010. She was born August 3, 1918 in Reeder, Kansas to William and Effie Pierce. A resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico since 1955, Ellen loved genealogy and was a member of the Mayflower Society and Daughters of American Revolution. She taught for the public school system from 1964 to 1980. SALTON -- Harriet Joan Salton (Denby): Born December 19, 1927, passed away Wednesday evening August 25, 2010 at the age of 82. Harriet will be dearly missed by her loving husband Robert Salton, and family. Harriet leaves behind two sons, James Gardner of Nutley, New Jersey and Thomas Gardner of Chandler Arizona. Harriet was a longtime resident of Albuquerque and loved the beautiful American southwest. Harriet was a graduate of Penn State University, a wonderful mother, beautiful wife, and an accomplished chef and a green thumb gardener. Harriet was a friend to all animals, but her pet roadrunners, kitty's, and the local wild birds will truly miss her. Harriett's strength, great sense of humor, quick wit, and passion for life were an inspiration to us all. Harriet, we love you dearly and will miss you every day of our lives. SHEEHAN -- Pat Sheehan, 91, was born on November 8, 1918, in Twin Falls, Idaho and died on August 27, 2010 at The Retreat in Rio Rancho, NM. He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Steinert, of Fayetteville, Arkansas and his son and daughter-in-law, Timothy M. and Scottie S. Sheehan. Pat was preceded in death by the love of his life, his bride of fifty seven years, Julianne Sheldon Sheehan. Together they enjoyed creating a beautiful, energetic family of four: Julianne, Kathleen, Timothy, and Patricia. Sadly, Pat was also preceded in death by two of his daughters Julianne Brienza and Patricia Mary Sheehan. Over time, Pat was blessed with many grand-children and great-grandchildren. Pat opened his own law firm here in Albuquerque and practiced many of his 50 years side by side with his son, Timothy. Much of this time Pat served in the Air Force Reserves attaining the rank of Brigadier General. He and his precious wife, Julie travelled extensively. They visited each of the fifty states, all of the provinces of Canada, the states of Mexico and all seven continents. The Celebration of his life will be hosted in the Palm Chapel at Daniels Family Mortuary, 1100 Coal Avenue, SE at 11: 00 a.m. on Thursday morning, September 2, 2010 followed by burial at Fairview Memorial Park, 700 Yale Blvd., SE. SIMS -- John "Jack" Sims, 65, was born on December 10, 1944 in Centralia, IL before moving to Albuquerque at age 2. He passed away in his Albuquerque home on August 30, 2010. WAGNER -- Rex Wagner, DDS, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Vera Wagner; brothers Max Wagner, DDS and wife Linda, Mickey Wagner, DDS and wife, Anthonie, John Wagner and wife, Kathy; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Amos and Ada Wagner; brother Loel Wagner; and step-children Vivian Rice and Bill Reininger. Rex graduated from Clovis High school in 1943. He entered the US Army Medical Corps where he served in the European Theatre of Operation. He was a Medic on the H.M.S. Queen Mary. He was a graduate of the University of Missouri, Kansas City and a member of the American Dental Association. Rex was a past-member of the UMKC Advisory Board, UNM Lobo Club and he was Fellow of the American Institute of Oral Biology. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 4 at 10:00 am at French - Lomas Chapel. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date. WHATLEY -- Don W. Whatley, 64, a resident of Albuquerque since 1974, passed away after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on Monday, August 30, 2010. Don was a long time advocate for educators as President of Albuquerque Teachers Federation for 16+ years. He taught at Truman Middle School for ten years and during the last seven years he worked with disadvantaged students and their families in the Title I Homeless Project with APS. Don is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Beverly; daughter Amy and husband Troy Edwards; son Kevin and wife Najma Whatley; five grandsons Trevor, Ryan, Cody, Mac and Jack; sister Jean Whatley; brothers J.
