ANDERSON -- Lawrence S. Anderson, age 81, passed away on August 5, 2010 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born to Samuel and Marion Anderson in Milaca, MN. Andrew was a world class athlete and runner and was awarded the tittles of Male Athlete of the year in 2004 from the New Mexico Games. He was also presented the first Senior Olympic Courage Award in 2005 for his continued participation in running and exercise while fighting his Parkinson's disease. Andy also served his country proudly during WWII for the United States Army. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be greatly missed and his memory will always be cherished. Andy is survived by his loving wife, Lorna Anderson of the family home; five sons Christopher Anderson and family, Monte Anderson and wife, Laurie, Bradley Anderson and wife, Melissa, John Robertson and family and Jim Tonn and wife Sarah. Two daughters Lisa Anderson-Reynolds and husband, Rick, and Dana Robertson and family. Andrew is also survived by two brothers, Oscar Anderson and wife, Peggy and Jarvis Anderson and wife, Judy, one sister, Ruth Eden. Andrew also has 15 grandchildren and five great grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at French Mortuary ~Wyoming Blvd. Chapel at 3:00 pm with Reverend Jack Russell officiating. ARCHULETA -- Antonio Archuleta age 94, died Thursday, August 5, 2010 in Santa Fe. He was born on March 6, 1916, on the family ranch near Folsom, NM to Candido Archuleta and Adelaida (Garcia) Archuleta. Antonio played college basketball at Trinidad State Junior College and was an avid sports fan and enjoyed camping, hunting and traveling. He married Lucy (Sanchez) Archuleta in 1939 in Clayton, NM and she preceded him in death on July 18, 1982. Antonio taught school in the rural Union County schools for 10 years and then at Mosquero for 2 years before coming to Clayton where he taught Spanish and Drivers Education for 30 years. He was a charter member of the David T. Arguello Council of the Knights Of Columbus in Clayton and served as Grand Knight and as the District Deputy for N. E. New Mexico. He was a member of the National Education Association and served as President in Clayton. He is survived by four sons, Tony Archuleta of Columbus, OH, Edmund Archuleta and his wife Eva of El Paso, Adelmo Archuleta and his wife Becky of Albuquerque and Joseph Archuleta of Santa Fe; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM on Monday, August 9 by Deacon P. Louis Montoya and Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 10 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton by Fr. Glenn Jones. CHAMBERLAIN -- Nelita (Golden) Chamberlain, 83 of Albuquerque, New Mexico, a former Lisco resident, died Monday, August 2, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 14, 2010 in the Lisco Presbyterian Church in Lisco, Nebraska. Nelita Ruth Chamberlain was born on August 13, 1926 in Lisco, Nebraska to Ernest T. and Ruth (Berrup) Pittman. She grew up in Lisco and graduated from the Lisco High School. Over the years Nelita lived in Scottsbluff, NE, Denver, CO, Ogden, UT, Grand Forks, ND, Gardena, CA and from 1973 to present day in Albuquerque, NM. She had five children, two sons and three daughters. On November 4, 1961 she was united in marriage to William Chamberlain in Denver, Colorado. Through the years Nelita worked numerous jobs as a clerk, cashier, waitress and secretary, but mostly she was a homemaker. She traveled extensively in the U.S. and Europe. She had a special aptitude for poetry and music. She is survived by her husband William Chamberlain of Albuquerque, NM; two sons: Dick Chamberlain of Buffalo Creek, CO and Ty Chamberlain of Plattsburg, MO; two daughters: Pat Jimenez of Tehachapi, CA and Debby Chamberlain of Tehachapi, CA; 12 Grandchildren, 25 Great-grandchildren and seven Great,great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers Gordon Golden and Clayton Pittman and one daughter, Suzanne Arroyo.

COLGAN -- Robert C. Colgan Jr.,"Bob", left his earthly body August 1, 2010. He was at home, surrounded by love and his assent was ever so peaceful. A wee smile was on his lips to tell us not to grieve but to celebrate exceptional life. Left behind is his wife JoAnn of 42 years; daughters Kem Schmalzer and husband Lou, TN, JoLynn Maestas Alb., daughter in-law, Linda Colgan, Spokane; son, Luke Colgan and wife Sofia, Taipei, Taiwan; his adoring grandsons, Michael Colgan, Spokane, Ryan and Gavin Maestas, Alb, Stevie and John Boyle, TN, Sean Colgan, Taiwan, and Zorro. Bob was preceded in death by son, Chris Colgan and daughter, Teri Ortega. Born October 20, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA, coming to Albuquerque 1947 to attend UNM. During his college days he became a campus leader. Some of his achievements were elected member of the men's honorary organization, Katali. His senior year he was editor of the UNM yearbook, Mirage and also chosen for Who's Who in American Colleges. After graduation in 1951, Bob taught school two years at Lincoln Jr. High and APS Central Office where he was director of Education Television working with KNME. In 1959, he joined Sandia Laboratory in Public Relations, later, became a writer/director in Motion Picture Division. In 1965, he became supervisor of Employee publication, and editor of the Sandia Lab News. He then settled in 1967, achieving his dream job, Supervisor of Motion Pictures and Video. Retiring in 1989 and began volunteering doing the jobs he loved. First, was a Rio Grande Zoo Docent from 1986 and Botanical Docent from 1995. He volunteered at the Information booth in Old Town for ACVB,( Visitors Bureau,)since 1989, a board member of the New Mex Zoological Society and President in 1992-93; docent at the Albuq. Museum for 4 years, delivered Meals on Wheels for 5 years and on their board, plus the board of the Arthritis Foundation. In his free time, Bob and JoAnn pursued their passion of traveling, venturing to Egypt, Canada and various trips throughout the USA, and every two years, England and Ireland. Bob touched the lives of so many, and they, him. Each person he made feel special because they were special to him. He was the ultimate seeker, with an ongoing curiosity for life. There was no formal religious belief for Bob because he practiced what most religions strive for, peace, serenity, and deep appreciation of all life. Bob will be deeply missed. But we are so lucky to have known him, loved him and been loved by him. A Celebration of his Life will be held at the Rio Grande Zoo, Sunday the 15th at 6:30 p.m. Contributions may be given in his name to NM BioPark Society, 903 Tenth St. SW, 87102.

GALLI -- Father Clarence F. Galli, was called home on August 5, 2010, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dominic Galli was born on November 5, 1925 in Blossburg, New Mexico. He attended Swastika Elementary School and St. Patrick Academy High School in Raton, NM. He served with the United States Army Air Corps from August 1943 to November 1945 where he flew P38 Lockheed Fighters. He was also a longtime Albuquerque pilot. On January 18, 1946, he entered Lourdes Seminary in Albuquerque. He then attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary in Santa Fe and St. Thomas Seminary in Denver, Colorado. On May 21, 1953, he was ordained by Archbishop Edwin V. Byrne at St. Francis Cathedral in Santa Fe, New Mexico. On May 24, 1953, he celebrated his First Solemn Mass in Tome, New Mexico. His Parish Assignments since Ordination. June 22, 1953, Assistant Pastor, St. Rose of Lima, Santa Rosa; June 30, 1954, Assistant Pastor, St. Therese, Albuquerque; June 28, 1955, Administrator, St. Joseph, Mosquero; July 2, 1958, Pastor, San Francisco de Asis, Taos; June 17, 1962; Pastor, San Ignacio, Albuquerque; July 1, 1965, Pastor, St. Edwin, Albuquerque; January 15, 1977, Pastor, Immaculate Conception, Las Vegas; January 15, 1982, Pastor, St. Therese, Albuquerque; August 8, 1988, Pastor, Our Lady of Fatima, Albuquerque; October 1, 1996, Retired for 3 and 1/2 months; January 15, 1997, Pastor, San Ysidro, Corrales. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother; Father Robert Galli, sister; Marie Yob, and nephew; Vinco Yob Jr. Father Galli is survived by his nephews; David and Joe Yob, niece; Debbi Yob, cousins Sister Ann Pierre and Mary Lynn Roper and numerous extended family, friends and his church family. GORBETT -- Ronald Charles Gorbett, 95, died August 4, 2010 at Presbyterian Hospice. He was born in Neosho Falls, Kansas on January 25, 1915, the son of Charles and Clara Gorbett. He married Yvonne LeMaire Surguy on October 22, 1948 in Tucson, Arizona. During WW II he was involved in the Norden bombsight at Davis Monthan Air Base in Tucson. In the early 1960's he moved his family to New Mexico where he was employed in various capacities in General Motors dealerships in the area. He leaves behind his wife; daughter, Michele Sandager and husband, Steve of Albuquerque; son Phillip and wife, Lisa of Mt Coolum, Australia; son, Bruce and partner Stephanie Bilderbeck of Edgewood; grandson, David Sandager and wife, Laura; grandson, Thomas Sabo; great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Sandager; all of Albuquerque; two nieces and their families, and his two cats, HuZi and Chili, whom he cherished for over 15 years. He loved fishing, sports, classical music and reading. At age 91 he traveled to Australia and at age 95 he joined a gym. Cremation has taken place with Direct Funeral Services in charge of arrangements. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park. The family will hold a private memorial service. KRAUSE -- Alvin C. Krause, 86, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elfrieda E. Krause; daughters, Carol Brees, Kathryn Fiolkoski, both of Albuquerque, and Julie Walker and husband, Bryan of Minco, OK; grandchildren, Shane Fiolkoski, Michael Brees, David Lord, and Morgan Zumbrink; and great-grandchildren, JoLynn VanderSys, Cameron Lord, Ravin Zumbrink-Liljegren, Kaylee Lord, and Trysten Roland. He was preceded in death by daughter, Beverly Jo Zumbrink; and grandson, Jason Fiolkoski. Alvin was a very loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed being outdoors. MCCORY -- Lorraine D "Lori" McCory, 76, passed away August 8, 2010 after a lengthy illness. Born in Quimby, Iowa, she met and married her husband of 53 years, Ron, in Denver, Colorado. She is also survived by her children, Rhonda Ferris and husband Terry of Stafford, Virginia, Michael McCory and wife Tracy of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Jason and Alaina both of Denver, Sarah of Albuquerque, Jill and husband Steve of Las Vegas, NV, and Joe, also of Las Vegas; three great grandchildren Kylie, Trevor and Katlyn. Lori is also survived by her sisters, Leona and Lola; and brother Leon; and many other family and friends. Mrs. McCory was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Ruth Struve, brother LeRoy and sister Lavone. She was an avid seamstress and bowler, loved her family and will be dearly missed.
