COLE -- James Bedford Cole, born September 9, 1961, US. Army Hospital, Heidelberg, Germany, same hospital General George Patton died in December 1945. Jim died February 9, 2009 at home in Albuquerque, NM of a heart attack. Jim had a very pleasant personality, and was an expert appraiser of Early American Furniture.

COOK -- Shirley Lorraine Cook, 83, (nee. Vanpatten) of Albuquerque formerly of Denver passed away May 14, 2010. A memorial service will be held to honor her life on Monday, August 2,2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Hoffmantown Church. She was the daughter of the late Bertha Tuft and Fred Vanpatten, the third of five children; preceded in death by her sister Dorothy (Victor) Lyman; sister Betty (Lester) Hayes; and brother Marvin Vanpatten. She is survived by sister Viola (Arthur W., Sr.) Johnson. She was the mother of the late William (Helen who survives) Cook, Jr., Jim (Judy) Cook, David (Linda) Cook, Robin (Paul) Treaster; also survived by nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. GONZALES -- Cecilia Rael Gonzales, 88, was born into earthly life on July 17, 1922 and reborn into eternal life on July 29, 2010. She passed away peacefully at home, in her daughter Frances' arms after a brief illness. Cecilia's devoted children, Ramon and Patricia were at her side. Mrs. Gonzales was a loving and beloved daughter, sister, cousin, wife, mother and friend. Cecilia is survived by her children; and her sons-in-law, Robert J. Vanderkrabben and Ross K. Henke; In addition, she is survived by her sister, Kathryn R. Garcia; brothers, Justin Rael and his wife, Irene Rose, and Ed Rael, and his wife, Pauline; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ramon B. Gonzales; parents, Lecadio and Albinita Page Rael; and her most beloved sister, Margaret Rael Martinez. Cecilia was born in Puerto de Luna, New Mexico and grew up in Martineztown. She attended Albuquerque High School and graduated from the University of Albuquerque (College of St.Joseph's) with a Bachelor of Science in Education. A master educator for 39 years, she served as an elementary school teacher at Alameda and Griegos Elementary Schools in Albuquerque. Prior to joining APS, Cecilia began her teaching career alongside her mother, Albinita Page Rael at San Antonito school. During her retirement years, Cecilia enjoyed traveling with her children to see the beauty of her country. She took the opportunity to enjoy extended visits with her daughters in San Francisco and Chicago. Mrs. Gonzales was a member of the Kappa Kappa Iota, Beta State, Eta conclave honorary Teachers Sorority. She was an active member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church where she served on the School Board for many years. She was a volunteer aide at the Veteran's Hospital and donated generously to the Albuquerque Battered Women's Shelter and the St. Vincent De Paul Society. Mrs. Gonzales will be remembered at a Rosary at 7 P.M. Tuesday, August 3rd, at French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd.N.E. Visitation begins at 6 P.M. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 4th at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel at French Mortuary, with internment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd. N.W. GRAHAM -- Rae H. Graham , 86, passed away peacefully July 17, 2010 in Denver, Colorado, after a long battle with Alzheimers disease. Rae was born January 30,1924 in Noxubee County, Mississippi. She married the "love of her life", Henry "Bud" Graham March 2, 1946 in Falls Church, Va. They raised their family in Mass. and PA, before moving out West. Bud passed away in July 1994. Rae is survived by her three children, Greg, Ginger Foley, and Glenn; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Rae and Bud were longtime residents of Albuquerque and were charter members of Tanoan Country Club. At her request, no services will be held. GRAHAM -- Sean Carlos Graham, 32, a lifelong resident of Belen, NM passed away in an automobile accident Saturday, July 24, 2010 in Phoenix, AZ where he recently began attending the Motorcycle Mechanic Institute. Born October 11, 1977, Sean followed his Grandma Ruth Graham's footsteps, becoming a cook for most of his life. He was preceded in death by his step-dad, Victor Blankenship, who taught him about drag racing and together they shared love of Mopars. Sean's quiet and mild demeanor will be missed by his mom, Thelma Graham Blankenship; and his many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family and friends who loved and will miss him. HAURY -- Richard K. Haury, beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully, Tuesday, July 27, 2010. He was a native New Mexican born to Kenneth and Lonah (Wilson) Haury on October 8, 1953. Rick was a kind and loving person, often referred to as a "gentle giant," who could always be counted on to lend a hand to those in need. His smile would light up a room and his sense of humor was contagious. As a natural athlete, Rick developed a passion for sports at a young age. He graduated from Manzano High School and the University of New Mexico where he made many great contributions to both the football and wrestling teams. He continued his love of sports by coaching football for the Albuquerque Indian School and youth soccer later on in life. Rick had a generous spirit and a genuine interest in helping others. He began his career in law enforcement with the Albuquerque Police Department and also worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the New Mexico Attorney General's Office, and the Region I Narcotics Task Force. He found his true calling as a police officer and often joked he would have worked for free. Rick was a devoted father and was happiest surrounded by all of his loving family. His passion for life and his memory will never be forgotten by those who loved him. He was preceded in death by his mother and brother, Ronald Haury. He is survived by his daughters, Amy and Courtney Haury; father, Kenneth Haury; sister, Margery Buckner and husband, Jerry; brothers, Mark Haury and George Haury and his wife, Marian; nieces, Winona and Jennifer Buckner, and Stephanie Haury; and nephew, Rick Haury, all of Albuquerque. HERRERA -- Rosinaldo Baldamar Herrera, age 75, died peacefully at home in Albuquerque, NM on Thursday, July 29, 2010. Rosinaldo began his wonderful journey on November 9, 1934, in Vallecitos, NM. He attended and graduated from McCurdy Boarding School in Espanola, served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, and married his loving Beatrice 52 years ago in San Diego, CA. He earned a degree in Education and went on to receive his Master's Degree in counseling. He touched many lives during his life at every position he held. Rosinaldo was a wonderful husband, father and most loving Grandpa. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Beatrice; three children, Dolores Moreno and husband Pedro, Clarence Herrera and former wife Judith Grano, Kathleen Gallegos and husband Lorenzo. He has seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; Pedro Moreno, Jr. and wife Ana Moreno (and son Elijah Moreno), Irenne Moreno, Elisette Moreno, Brittney "Punky" Herrera, Travis Gallegos, Lori Gallegos de Castillo and husband Rodrigo, and Lorenzo Gallegos, Jr.; sisters Ruby Medina and Martha Herrera, and brother Enoch Madrid, and an array of incredible cousins and friends. Rosinaldo was preceded in death by his parents, Fabian and Josie Madrid; sister Lena Lopez; niece Eileen Gallegos; and many other precious members of his family. KING -- John Markley King, born February 15, 1940, son to Roy and Virginia King, passed away Friday, July 23, 2010. Mark was survived by his sister, Margaret Betts; his wife Susan King; and three daughters: Tamara, from whom he had two grandchildren, Julia and Liam; Barbara, from whom he had three grandchildren, Dawn, Jaime, and Crystal; and his youngest daughter, Ginny. Mark served honorably in the U.S. Air Force as well as owning and operating his own business for most of his life. Mark will be remembered fondly and missed greatly by family and many friends throughout the Albuquerque and El Paso areas. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

LALICKER -- Robert "Bob" G. Lalicker, 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 31, 2010. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Marjorie (Martin); daughters, Terry (Mark) Haley, Jeanette "Gigi" (Frank) Chinisci, all of Albuquerque and Lisa (Chris) Cook of Danville, CA; eight grandchildren, Richard and Robert Puglisi, David, Ben and Susie Chinisci, and Hayley, Katie and Conner Cook; a sister, Nancy (George) Shaffer of Albuquerque; and many nieces and nephews. Bob was born to Carlton and Verna Lalicker in Cortez, CO on July 27, 1928 and lived in South Haven, KS until 1942, when his family moved to Albuquerque. He graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1946 and was a member of two of its state champion baseball teams. In the fall of 1946 Bob enrolled at the University of New Mexico as a member of the Naval ROTC program. While at UNM, he was a three-year baseball letterman, Battalion Commander of the NROTC Unit and a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Bob graduated in 1950 and was commissioned as an ensign in the United States Navy. He served on destroyers during the Korean Conflict and received among others, a Bronze Star with Combat "V" for valor, the Korean Service Medal with two battle stars and the Navy Unit Citation. Bob remained in the Naval Reserve following active duty and retired as a Captain in the USNR. After active Navy duty, he returned to UNM where he was a Graduate Assistant and earned a Master's degree in Secondary Education. Bob was on the first faculty at Valley High School as a teacher and coach, and then returned to UNM where he held several administrative positions for the next 28 years. He retired in 1984 as Director of Development and Executive Director of the UNM Foundation. During his tenure in this position, the Presidential Scholarship Program, the UNM Foundation, and the Tom L. Popejoy Society were established. Bob was very active in community affairs and was on the Board of Directors of numerous organizations, including the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce, the Bernalillo County Chapter of the Red Cross, the Heights Family YMCA, and for 17 years, the Charter Bank. He was president of the Kiwanis Club of Albuquerque, the UNM Alumni Lettermen's Association, the UNM NROTC Alumni Association, and the New Mexico Chapter of the Navy League. Bob was a lector and vestry member of the Cathedral Church of St. John. He was an ardent golfer and fisherman and will be remembered as a wonderful, caring husband, father, and grandfather and a friend to many. Bob enjoyed hearing and telling stories; he laughed easily and often. A Memorial Service will be held at the Cathedral Church of St. John, Fourth and Silver SW, on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. A reception will follow at Anna Kaseman Hall at the Cathedral. LEE -- Jeremy Nicholas Lee, 27, passed away unexpectedly on July 29, 2010. MADARAS -- Kendall A. Madaras, Major US Marine Corp, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother-in-law passed away very peacefully on July 28, 2010. He was surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ann; daughters, Annemarie, Mary and husband Elliott; grandchildren, Ben and Ellie; sister-in-law Mary and husband Stephen; nephew Louis; and niece Naomi, husband Tim and grand niece Summer. Ken was a 27 year decorated veteran of the US Marine Corps. He also worked for Bank of America and spent a most enjoyable ten years at Rocky Mountain Stone Co. MCGRATH -- Fred L. McGrath passed on to be with our Lord on July 25, 2010 in the company of loved ones while at prayer. Fred had been cared for his cancer related illness by family, Monica and Richard at home until the day that he quietly passed on to his eternal reward. Fred lived a long and fruitful life and had many friends who will miss him along with family. Fred was a veteran who served in the Merchant Marines. Fred was also quite proud of saying that he worked as a painter until he reached the age of seventy-eight. The family wishes to thank Monica, Richard and the VA Hospice program for their assistance and to thank all family and friends who visited and cared for Fred in his final days. Fred is survived by wife, Angelina Garcia McGrath; two sons, Fred Ortiz, Benito Garcia and wife, Emily; two daughters, Esparanza Roybal and husband, Floyd, Consuelo Alarid and husband, Tony; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. MCOSKER -- Kenneth Frank McOsker, 34, of Edgewood, NM. Born 5/9/76 went to meet the lord on July 19, 2010, after a tragic accident at Rodeo de Galiseto, which he was a three time bareback riding champion. Kenny had ridden bareback horses for 15 years, winning over 30 buckles and a saddle. Kenny was a competitor his entire life starting with baseball at Thunderbird LL, a Super Bowl champ at YAFL, a black belt in Tae Kwon-Do, a varsity baseball player selected to the all city team while attending Sandia HS. He was a state conference participant in DECA representing N.M. in Detroit, Mi. Kenny also received the Presidential Academic Award signed by President Bush. Kenny graduated from UNM with a degree in engineering. He was a proud member of SAE. Kenny was also an organ donor, giving the gift of life to five people, three in NM. Kenny is survived by his wife Tay; daughter Bailey; sons Kole and Zeb; and an unborn son, all of Edgewood, NM; his mother and father, Neddie and Martin of Albuquerque; and his forever grandparents, Walt and Priscella Newlin of Sandia Knolls NM; best friend Kevin Cox; and many aunts and uncles and cousins as well as his extended rodeo family. Kenny was preceded in death by his grandparents Frank and Trinidad Castor of Las Vegas, NM, Kenneth and Willie Mae McOsker of Humboldt, AZ. A memorial service will be held at the Moriarty Community Center on August 7, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in Moriarty, NM. Service to be conducted by close friend Luis Escudero. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Kenny McOsker Memorial Fund, at any Wells Fargo Bank. His epitaph will read "I'd rather have eight seconds in the saddle than a life time watching from the stands." Some of Kenny'ss ashes will grace the rodeo grounds throughout the SW. MOORE -- George Joseph Moore, 56, of Albuquerque, went to join his beloved wife, Brenda, July 27, 2010. George was the beloved son of Paul and Millie Lusk; brother of Pamela Roberts and husband Larry of Oldsmar, FL, David Moore and wife Un Cha, South Korea, Michael Moore and wife Becky, and Joel Lusk; and adopted brother Peter of Albuquerque; He also is survived by his aunts, Priscilla Jasinski, CT, Patricia MacNeil, NH and Dorie Corrao and husband Leo, Bosque, NM; as well as many family members. George will be missed by his friends including J.D. Trujillo and Kim, Ed Gilligan, Jimmy Rowen and Jan, Don Heavner and others, as well as by his two loving dogs Tina and Lola. POWELL -- Louise Powell, 97, died Friday, July 30, 2010, after a long and full life. She was born July 29, 1913, in Belen, NM, to Librada Aragon Tafoya and Julian Tafoya. She was preceded in death by her parents; and seven brothers and sisters. A life-long New Mexico resident, she was married July 18, 1942, to Fred J. Powell, her husband of 50 years, who also preceded her in death. PRICE -- Margaret S. Price, 79, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, July 29, 2010. She is survived by daughters, Randine Hughes and husband, Brian, of Santa Fe and Katy Lunsford and husband, Greg, of Chesapeake, VA; grandchildren, Krista, Leonard and Jamie Hughes, John, Beth and Scott Lunsford; and other family and friends. Mrs. Price was preceded in death by her husband, John A "Jack" Price. Margaret was born in Madison, WI. She graduated from Luther College in 1952 and moved to Albuquerque to begin her teaching career. After marrying Jack, they moved to Nebraska for him to attend college and seminary. Margaret and Jack returned to their beloved Albuquerque in 1967. Margaret was active in the Lutheran church and a life member of the International Conference of Police Chaplains. SANTANGELO -- Vincenza "Zina" Santangelo, 78, went home to be with her Lord on July 25, 2010. She was born on August 21, 1931 in Sicily, Italy to parents Luciano and Giovanna Marchese. She immigrated to New York with her family at the age of 17. She moved to Albuquerque with her husband and children in 1971. She is survived by the love of her life for 56 years, Vito; children, Gina Seeley and husband Fred, Greg Santangelo and wife Reina, and Joann Santangelo; grandchildren, Cristopher and wife Amy, Jessica, Melissa, Melanie, Benjamin and Kenneth; great-grandson Noah; her sister Rose and husband Jack, and brothers, Diego, Joseph and Charlie; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister Maria; and brother Pat. She was an amazing seamstress, a wonderful cook and worked hard for her family her entire life. SUNDBY -- Irven Sundby, 90, passed away at home on Tuesday morning, July 27, 2010. Irven was born in North Dakota on January 26, 1920. He lived the majority of his life in Albuquerque, employed as a sheet metal worker. He was a proud member of his union for 60 years. Irven was preceded in death by his wife Caroline Sundby and daughter Darla Sundby. Irven is survived by his son Gary Sundby; grandson Shane Sundby; granddaughter Renee Sundby; great-grandson Damien Sundby; great-granddaughter Neveah; and sister Bertha Brewer, 100 years old, from Minnesota. Felix was born to the late Victor and Margarita Tafoya. He was preceded in death by his sister, Stella Lucero. VALDEZ -- Bill "Guillermo" Valdez, 58, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 28, 2010. Bill was a veteran of the Vietnam War, earning an honorable discharge in 1973. He then spent 32 years at General Electric, working as a machinist to support his family. He is survived by his two sons and their families, Vicente, wife Kari, son Vicente Jr.; and Mario, girlfriend Brittney, daughter Madison, son Mario Jr.; his brothers, Richard and Carlos; and his aunt Celeste.
