BRAWN -- Dorothy. Sarah Dorothy Wolfe was born to Oliver and Carrie Wolfe in Boise, ID, May 3, 1908. She was preceded in death by her sister Gertrude and brother Richard. She graduated from the Sargent Consolidated School in the San Luis Valley in Colorado in 1926. She received a four year scholarship to Colorado State University. On February 15, 1928 she married Herbert Seamster. Two children James and Marjorie were born to this union. Herbert died in 1936. Dorothy then returned to school and graduated from the Gladys Whithead School of Cosmetology. She passed the Colorado State Board and had her own shop in Pueblo, CO. It was there that she met James Brawn, a Methodist minister. They were married November 2, 1937. In August of 1939 he was sent to Albuquerque to be the minister of the First Methodist Episcopal Church where he served until his retirement. He died February 26, 1968. Dorothy has remained a loyal and faithful member all these years. She was a member of United Methodist Women and Deborah Circle. She is survived by her son: James and his wife Nancy of Gilbert, AZ; their seven children; their twelve grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; her daughter: Marjorie Ragan; her two daughters; one son-in-law; and one grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two of her husband's grandchildren, Betti Lou Terry and her husband Bob, and their children and grandchildren; and Howard Clinton and his wife Judy Brawn and their children. Memorial service will be Friday, July 23, 2010, 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 314 Lead SW. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. CANDELARIA -- Andy Candelaria of Albuquerque passed away on Monday, July 19, 2010. He was born on March 5, 1939. He was preceded in death by his parents, Modesta and Patricio Candelaria; and also two brothers, Joe and Pat. He is survived by four sisters, Annie Baca, Flora Candelaria, Tomi Chavez and Mary Jane Bentacu; two brothers, Silverio and Frank Candelaria; and many nieces and nephews. COLLIER -- Rosina Francis Collier, 89, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010 of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born April 27, 1921 in Abiquiu, New Mexico a daughter of Ezequiel and Consuelacion Lujan Garcia. Survivors include her six children, Linda Daye, Manhattan Beach, CA, Luis (Donna) Chavez, Kirksville, MO, Juan (Katharine) Chavez, Poway, CA, Richard E. Chavez, Albuquerque, Richard Collier, Albuquerque, and Suzette (William Andrew) Martinez, Albuquerque; 16 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patrita Quintana, Espanola, NM, and Anita of Pueblo, CO; and one brother, Rosendo Garcia, Espanola. GREENE -- William Temple Greene, 78, of Albuquerque, died Monday July 19, 2010, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Mary Greene of Albuquerque; sister Johnnie Faye Thomas of Albuquerque, brother Donald Ray Greene of Houston; three daughters Cyndi Ziegler of Albuquerque, Paym Greene of San Diego, Kristie Reinhart and husband Steve of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren Tiffany, Johnny, Rabeka, Josh, Brittany, Ryan and Temple; and three great-grandchildren Tayah, Trevin and Ava. He was born in Eastland, Texas June 18, 1932. Bill proudly served his country in the USAF for 25 years, retiring as CMSgt. He has devoted his time to the Mile High Optimist Club since 1982. Bill loved spending time helping others, especially children. He never knew a stranger, bringing joy to all lives he touched. He will always be remembered by his humor, smile, and love of life. HICKAM -- Edna Trojcak Hickam passed peacefully at Unlimited Care on July 16, 2010, during a glorious New Mexico sunset. She was born on November 2, 1920 in Moulton, Texas. She came of age during the depression, was a retired federal employee with 33 years of service extending from WWII through MacArthur's occupation of Japan and a comptroller at KAFB. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She also was a devout Methodist, avid gardener and van guard green person who never wasted anything. She is survived by her brother Jim Trojcak; son, Charles Hickam and his wife Patty Shuman; daughter Suzanne Hoefel; grandson Zachary Hoefel and his wife, LeeAnn, their children Elena and a soon to arrive son, and grandson Dustin Hoefel and his wife, Kelsey. HOFFMAN -- Lucy Eleanor Hoffman of Rio Rancho, died Saturday, July 17, 2010 after a lengthy illness. She was born Lucy Wood on June 17, 1926 in Effingham County, Illinois. Lucy was married to Reverend Edward L. Hoffman in Effingham, Illinois in 1945. They have four children, Julia Smith of Sitka, Alaska, Lawrence Hoffman and wife Carolyn of Kansas City, Missouri, Drew Hoffman and wife Tila of Corrales, New Mexico and Leigh Anders of Corrales, New Mexico. They have nine grandchildren: Lauren Allen and husband Dave of Sitka, AK, Josh Smith and wife Jodi of Eureka, CA, Matthew Hoffman and wife Anna of Kansas City, MO, Colter, Chase and Chandler Hoffman of Corrales and Alex, Lindsay and Luke Anders of Corrales; They have six great-grandchildren: Vivian and Christian Hoffman of Kansas City, MO, Zaide and Zia Allen of Sitka, AK and Ben and Eli Smith of Eureka, CA. Lucy Eleanor Hoffman was a Registered Nurse with advanced training in obstetrics and anesthesiology and served on the East Coast and in the Midwest. Her joy in life was serving others. KARCH -- Paula (Velarde) Karch, went to be with the Lord on Monday July 19, 2010. She was the daughter of Zacarias and Virginia Velarde, of Velarde, NM. MCCLANAHAN -- James F. McClanahan, 77, passed away July 18, 2010. He was born to Fred and Sophia McClanahan in Geneva, Kansas. After living in many different parts of Kansas, his family settled in Holton, Kansas where Jim played football and graduated from Holton High School in 1951, with a graduating class of 50 people. Jim was a Deputy Sheriff in Topeka, Kansas until he joined the US Army, serving for 2 years. Upon his discharge from the Army he moved to Albuquerque, NM. He joined the Albuquerque Police Department, where he had a 22 year career in many different departments, although his favorite assignment was Range Master, where he trained many young recruits. After retirement from the police force he became a Special US Marshall for 15 years, retiring again in 1995. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, shootist and the ultimate around the house putterer. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Charlotte Yates McClanahan, of Albuquerque; a sister, Elizabeth M. Green, of Kingwood, Texas; two daughters, Beth M. Dick and husband Patrick, of Albuquerque and Robin L. McClanahan, and boyfriend Robert J. Overmyer, of Albuquerque; and a step-daughter, Jane E. Crossman and family, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters, Virginia R. Culbertson, LaVerne M. MONTANO -- Joelyn Montano, 76, loving mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, a resident of Albuquerque, NM went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, July 20, 2010. Joelyn was born July 5, 1934 in Albuquerque. Joelyn loved spending time with her family and friends. Joelyn enjoyed playing board and computer games and was a seamstress. She had a fulfilling career in the electronics industry. Joelyn is survived by her children, Irvine Montano, Yvonne Mora, Susana Armijo, Theodore Montano, Thomas Montano, Theresa Sandoval and husband Mark and Robert Montano; grandchildren, Melissa and Denise Mora, Gerald Armijo, Monique Vigil, Anthony and Angela Sandoval; Great Grandchildren Ashley and Alijah Armijo, Angelique Londos and Stone Spear; sisters, Rosalie Sierra husband Pepilo, Vangie Tapia husband Justo; Brother J.P. OTIS -- Marjorie L. Otis, 92, died peacefully on July 18th, 2010. Preceded in death by her husband William (Bill) S. Otis Jr., son David, and sister-in-law Marjorie Otis-Eason. She is survived by her sister Shirley Bishop, daughters Kathleen Redman of McMinnville, OR and Patricia Dayton of Coolidge, AZ, 5 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Bill and Marjorie were married in 1943 in Albuquerque, NM. While Bill sold school supplies around the state, Marjorie was a homemaker and loved to crochet, tat, garden, and play the piano. When Bill died in 1976, Marjorie became a mortgage loan officer. In 1990, she moved to Oregon to live with her daughter Kathleen who lovingly cared for her until her death. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in McMinnville. Interment will be at Mt. Calvary cemetery in Albuquerque, NM at a later date. PEREA -- Nicholas S. Perea, 86, passed away peacefully in the company of his family. Nicholas (Nick) was born July 21, 1924 to the ranching family of Amador and Antonia Perea, of Pinos Wells, NM. He was a WWII veteran, having served in the US Navy aboard the Sangamon Class aircraft carrier escort USS Suwannee for three years. A life long member of the Sociadad de San Jose, in Pinos Wells, NM. He was an active parishioner of our Lady of Fatima Church and retired from Sandia Labs after 35 years of service. Nicholas was preceded in death by his parents; and was the last surviving sibling of five brothers; and four sisters. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Filia; three sons, Michael, Edward, Gregory and wife Elaine; three grandchildren, Aaron and wife Kami, Jacob and wife Jennifer, and Racheal and husband Jesse; three great-grandchildren Norah, Gabriel and Elijah. SCHOLZ -- Richard Dale Scholz, 53, resident of Albuquerque, born August 24, 1956, in Decatur, IL passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2010. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Michelle; brothers, David Scholz, Charles Scholz, and Joseph Scholz and wife, Ann, along with nieces, nephews and extended family members. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Jean Marie Scholz. Richard received a Bachelors degree from St. John's in Santa Fe and a Masters in Education from Virginia Tech. He spent about 15 years teaching math to middle school students in Northern Virginia before he and Michelle moved to New Mexico. Richard worked for Sprint Telecommunications in Rio Rancho, and most recently for Fidelity Financial. Richard enjoyed singing with his church choir at Sandia Baptist Church in Albuquerque. He was a kind, patient man with a great sense of humor who will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place. SCHULTZ -- Ronald Bruce Schultz Sr., 67, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2010. He was born June 14, 1943, in Scoqualmie Falls, WA, to Doris May Louge and John Paul Garrett. He was a United States Army veteran and owner of the 20 Carrots Restaurant. Ronald was a deacon at St. Charles Borromeo Church for over 20 years and volunteered at the chaplain's office of the Raymond G. Murphy VA Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris May Louge; step-father, Wilson Schultz; mother-in-law, Josie Molina; father-in-law, Luis Molina. Ronald is survived by his wife, Marie; his father John Paul Garrett; four sons, Ronald Bruce Schultz Jr., Eric L. Schultz, Sean Schultz and Eric H. WASHBURN -- Gerry Douglas Washburn, 78 of Fort Sumner, NM died July 19, 2010 at his home following an illness. He was born March 31, 1932 in Cebolla, NM to the home of Dee Owen and Mabel (Perry) Washburn. Gerry graduated from Los Lunas High School, attended the University of NM and Eastern NM University where he received his BA, MA and Phd. in Education. He married Mary Ross Wilmeth on September 6, 1954 in Fort Sumner. Gerry was a U.S. Army Veteran; he served during the Korean War as a Military Police Officer at Fort Carson, CO and was honorably discharged in 1962. Gerry worked for the NM Department of Game and Fish; he was a longtime NM educator and served as a High School science teacher at Roy, NM and Dora, NM; served as H.S. Principal in Dora, NM; was Principal and later Superintendent at Floyd, NM; served as an Assistant Superintendent and later Superintendent at Tucumcari Public Schools. He retired in 1986. Gerry enjoyed hunting and raising Walker Dogs, Taxidermy, Rock Work, Sculpting, Painting and working around his home. Gerry and Mary lived in Tucumcari, NM from 1976-1989 before making the Fort Sumner valley their home. Gerry was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ross Washburn January 2, 2009; his parents; a granddaughter Lilylynn Washburn; six brothers Oswald, Gerald, Perry, Jerry, Max and Norman Washburn and a sister Polly Penka. Survivors include three sons Gerry C. Washburn and wife Audrey of Los Alamos, Scott O. Washburn and wife Dierdre of Floyd, NM; Bruce W. Washburn and wife Crystal of Raton, NM; two daughters Cindy K. Terry of Santa Rosa, NM; Debra A. Paul of Clovis, NM; a sister Madeline Cooper and husband Ken of Arizona . Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2010 at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010 from Fort Sumner Cemetery with Gary Good officiating. Pallbearers will include Gerry T. Washburn, Zachary Washburn, Caleb Washburn, Grant Washburn, Shenandoah Terry, Shiloh Terry, Blake Washburn and Ethan Washburn. WIMBERLY -- Theressa I. Wimberly, 87, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on July 16, 2010. Mrs. Wimberley was born on April 28, 1923 to John Thomas and Ruby Anna (Jackson) Perkins of Ft. Sumner, NM. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Wimberly; and a brother, Therman Perkins. She is survived by her sons, Lloyd Wimberly, Sr. and his wife, Loureen, and Wayne Wimberly and his wife, Dru, both of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Lloyd Wimberly, Jr., Emily (Rick) Ybarra, Jason (Leon) Wimberly, Daniel (Nicole) Lopez, Dinise (Emanuel) Rodriguez, Crystal (Victor Marquez) Roybal; great-grandchildren, Byron and Angelita Ybarra, Esperanza, Damion, Joziah and Isaac Lopez, Jessica and Emanuel Rodriguez; and Elijah and Victor Marquez; and a brother, Delbert Perkins of Del Rio, TX. WRIGHT -- Taylor Renae Wright, age 11, passed away peaceful at home, July 18,2010, surrounded by her mother, sister, and her grandparents. Taylor is survived by her parents, Charlene and Michael Sanchez and Christopher Wright; her grandparents, Juan and Linda Vigil, James Grimes, and Mike and Cecelia Sanchez; siblings, Marissa, Diego, Ariana, and Alejandro; uncles, Eric and Jeremy Grimes; aunts Juliette and Victoria; and her best friend, Shannon Conkle. Taylor touched the hearts of so many, and is an inspiration for us all. She is now Grandpa Gabe's special Angel in Heaven.
