AMANN -- Marion Oliver Amann. Dear Readers Take Note: One of the all time greats has left us! Marion Oliver Amann had her last dish of slow churned ice cream April 19, 2010 and slipped away from us peacefully in her own bed, precisely the way she wanted, on April 21, 2010, after an arduous and valiant battle with rectal cancer. Marion was born Friday, November 13, 1931 in Braintree, Massachusetts, to Russell Oliver and Helen Boudreau. She graduated from New England Deaconess Nursing School in 1952. Marion was an old school nurse who selflessly gave her heart and soul in caring for others over a span of more than 50 years. She worked primarily in nursing homes where she relished providing great comfort to those who were close to Heaven's gate. Throughout her career with people in dire circumstances, she always tried to be upbeat and convey a love of life and laughter to all around her, particularly her patients. Marion was always jovially pugnacious and was admired greatly for her strength, stamina and sense of humor. She saved the life of Clarence Anthony Amann, married him and created four more lives with him (later divorced). She leaves behind those four children: Laura (Webster, NY); Paul (Wanda) (Salt Lake City, Utah), Christopher (Rola Rashid)(Pittsford, NY), and Clare (Stefan Domino) (Sandia Park, NM); grandchildren Jeremy (Kate) Tellier, Kassie and Grant Amann and Sedona Domino; great-grandchildren Gage and Raiden Tellier; numerous other relatives and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Russell Oliver; sister, Evelyn Johnson; and granddaughter, Satori. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Daniels Funeral, 9420 Fourth Street NW, ABQ, NM, where a visitation will be held prior from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Online guest book at www.danielsfuneral.com. In lieu of flowers please donate to Covenant House or Mercy Home for Boys and Girls. (https://www.covenanthouse.org/donate/online;http://www.mercyhome.org/waystogive/).
