ALVARADO -- Gerald H. Alvarado passed away on March 24, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents Isaac Alvarado Sr. and Margaret Campos Alvarado; son Bill; sister Lydia, and brother in laws Joe Ulibarri and Faustin Martinez. He is survived by his two daughters Evelyn and Debbie; granddaughter Marlo; and great granddaughter Maddie; one brother Isaac; sisters Patsy and Thelma; and numerous nieces and nephews. Gerald graduated from Santa Rosa High School in 1951 and retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. Gerald was a graduate of the University of Alabama, University of Maryland, and the University of Albuquerque. A private military service was held at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe with full military honors. He will be missed by his family and friends that cared for him deeply.

ANSELMO -- Frank Anthony, born October 21, 1921, died April 16, 2010, at the age of 88. He is survived by a daughter, Teresa Greco Stewart; and two grandchildren, Gary Hren and Frank Hren and their spouses; He has two great-grandchildren; siblings: Nettie Losey, Josephine Bucciarelli, Antonette Cholewinski, Ralph Anselmo. He was predeceased by his son, William F. Anselmo; and brothers, Joseph and Henry Anselmo. He served in World War II and he retired from Jefferson County Schools in Denver, CO. BERRY -- Robert C. Berry, age 51, beloved husband, father and brother, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2010. He was born in Cedar Rapids, IA, currently a resident of Albuquerque, and was formerly of Cedar Rapids, IA. Robert was a Chaplain for the Rio Rancho Police Department. He served our country in the United States Air Force. He strongly believed in the Second Amendment. He enjoyed camping, loved being outdoors, and was an avid reader. Robert valued the Second Amendment whole heartedly, he loved his family and friends. Robert will always be fondly remembered as a very kind, caring and compassionate man. Robert is survived by is loving wife Diana Berry; his precious daughter, Jessica R. Berry; his sister Barbara Wetz and her husband Glenn of Maplewood, MN; his niece Zachari Wetz; many friends and relatives throughout the United State and overseas. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, April 23, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Rio Rancho, 3906 19th Avenue SE, Rio Rancho, NM. BONHAM -- Cliff "Noonie" Bonham, 62, of Milan, NM passed away on Tuesday, 6 April 2010. An avid NASCAR fan, he was born December 18, 1947 in Albuquerque to the late Cliff and Josie Bonham. Cliff is survived by his wife Kristen of Milan; son Charles of Phoenix; brother Marin "Pete" of Albuquerque; sisters Diana of Prescott and Karen of Albuquerque, as well as many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. BRUNSON -- Charlsie Faye Brunson, age 87 peacefully passed away on April 16, 2010 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born to James and Bernice Tinsley in McKinney, TX. Faye was a loving, caring wife and mother who always put her family's needs first. She was involved with the PWOC, The Roadrunner Waves, and was very involved in the church as a Sunday school teacher, Girl Scout leader and graduated from Stevens Ministries in Albuquerque and took time into her busy schedule as a Red Cross volunteer. Faye served her country proudly during WWII in the United States Navy. Faye is survived by her daughter, Melanie Brunson; and one grandson, Colton Troop and his wife, Kylie. Faye was preceded in death by her husband, George S. Brunson, Jr. in 2003. Her parents; three sisters, Marie Hensley, Amelia Chaffin and Eleanor Hensley; and four brothers, Robert Tinsley, James Tinsley, Charles Tinsley and Harold Tinsley. CLARK -- Deloris A. Clark, 72 passed away April 13, 2010 in Albuquerque, NM. Deloris was born to Carl Reeves and Annie (Pierce) Reeves on November 24, 1937 in Camden, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Carl Reeves, Jr. Deloris is survived by her husband John Clark, Jr.; and son, John C. Clark III and his wife, Lynette Henderson in Northridge, CA.; two sisters, Mildred White of Decatur, IL., and Evelyn Broadwater and her husband Robert, in Peoria, AZ.; one brother Robert Z. Reeves of Benton Harbor, MI. Deloris and her family came to Albuquerque in 1980. Deloris was a special education teacher in the Albuquerque School System and as a member of Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church where she worked as an usher. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 19, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and the rosary will be recited starting at 7:00 p.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Service - Carlisle Chapel. CREAGER -- James "Jim" D. Creager, son of Omer and June Creager, age 63, passed away April 13, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Nelda Creager; their two daughters Michelle Salge, married to Thomas Salge, Jennifer Hippen, married to Roger Hippen; and seven grandkids, Corrine, Ryan, Keshia, Michael, Thailer, Christian, and Sean; He is also survived by his sister, Kathy, her husband, John Slagle; niece, Melissa Slagle; sister-in-law Colleen, her husband, Everett Ingram; and niece Lorie and husband Alan Van Ongevalle. Jim graduated from Belen High School in 1964 and New Mexico State University in 1968. He worked as an IT Specialist with the National Parks Service in Arizona and Colorado for the past six years. Jim was an avid photographer and enjoyed traveling with his wife around the country to capture beautiful images. He is loved and will be missed.

DI NELLO -- Sarah R. Di Nello went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 13, 2010. She was born August 3, 1919 in Kansas City, MO. Sarah worked for the Corp of Engineers for over 20 years and retired in May 1971. She is survived by her devoted husband, Edmund P. Di Nello; three children, Richard A. EDEN -- Gorden Edward Eden Sr., 87, passed away in his home on Thursday, April 15, 2010. Gorden was the son of Ben and Bernice Eden, whose family 'homesteaded' in Stanley, NM, where he attended school. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Ft. McDowell CA, which became the staging area for replacements in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. Gorden married Charlotte Marie Lewis on September 27, 1947, and together they had three children. Gorden and Charlotte lived on a ranch in the South Valley of Albuquerque for many years, where they raised race-horses. Gorden enjoyed a long and successful career in automobile sales and management working many years for Galles Motor Co. and Ed Black's Chevrolet, before co-owning an auto sales business with Charlotte. Gorden and Charlotte were long time members of Central United Methodist Church and Gorden was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Gorden is survived by his sons, U.S. Marshal Gorden E. Eden Jr. and wife, Mary; John Eden and Jeanne of AZ; daughter-in-law, Susan Eden; grandchildren, Tiffany, Ryan and wife Katie, Renee, Kyle and fiance Katie, Josh and Cory; great-grandchildren Chandler and Elliott, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte; daughter Sherry; and son, Travis. At his request, a private service for his immediate family will be held. FISHER -- Martin Dean Fisher, 88, a resident of Albuquerque since 1951, passed away Friday, April 16, 2010. HATHAWAY -- Chrystene "Tiger" Hathaway passed away, in the family home, on Sunday, April 11, 2010 with the same grace and ease as she lived her life. She was born in Etowah, Tennessee on February 14, 1914, to Hettie and Floyd Hackler. Tiger grew up in Las Cruces where, in 1937, she met and married state policeman, Albert Hathaway (now deceased). For almost 20 years, Tiger was the office manager of TRANE Company. Prior to that, she oversaw the family polygraph business. Earlier, she was the office manager for the Albuquerque office of Sinclair Oil and Gas Co. She was an accomplished knitter and seamstress, designing and creating most of her elegant cloths. Her family and friends will remember her for her kindness, joy, humor and spicy personality. She is survived by daughters, Rebecca Allen, of Albuquerque and Tinka Green and her husband, Raymond of Atlanta; She is also survived by grandchildren Shay Hathaway and Rafe Allen, of Las Vegas, NV, Hale and his wife Adrienne, and Kaitlan McCarthy, husband, Rob of Albuquerque; niece Barbara Buttes; and nephew Jack Seaman and wife, Lynn; her great-grandchildren are, Jade Allen, Kara Midgley, Kody McCarthy, Marjani, Najee, Taj and Sydni Green. She was anxiously expecting the birth of another great-grandson. She was preceded in death by son-in-law James E. Allen; and grandson Tad Green. She will be deeply missed by her longtime companion and pal, Gizmo. The family is very grateful for the loving care provided by Linda Martin and Laurie Austin, as well as the staff and Hospice De La Luz and the devoted friendship of Becky Otero, John Raver, and her honorary daughter Pat Dadian. A celebration of Tiger's life is planned in the family home, April 25, 2010, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. She has donated her body to UNM Medical School.

He was preceded in death by his father Blas Jimenez Jr. He is survived by his mother Mary R.Jimenez of Albuquerque, NM; his daughters, Stacey and Paulina of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one son Jordan of Layton Utah; two grandsons, Angel and Adrian of Colorado Springs; two sisters, Martha Greenwood of Harker Heights, TX, Gina Jimenez of Albuquerque, NM; one brother James Jimenez of Albuquerque, NM; two nieces, Aimee Ruiz and her husband Sam and Nikki Greenwood both of Killeen, TX; two nephews, Blaise and Aiden Jimenez both of Albuquerque, NM; He is also survived by aunts, uncles and numerous cousins. KILE -- Hope Elizabeth Morgan Kile passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at her residence. She was 54. There will be a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in San Angelo, Texas with Father Charles Greenwell officiating. Hope was born on July 24, 1955 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Thomas and Marion Morgan. She attended St. Pius X High School and then the New Mexico State University in Las Cruces where she received her Associate's degree in Business Administration. She then worked for Levi Strauss for a few years before moving to San Angelo in 1984. Her daughter Hannah was born in 1987. Hope enjoyed life. She was involved in the church festivals at Holy Angels. She was an avid collector of crosses and loved to read. Hope also liked to cook, as she was known for her green chili stew. She also liked to advise people on home decorating. Hope was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister Mary Hands. She is survived by her daughter Hannah Kile, of San Angelo; two brothers, Patrick Morgan and wife, Kay, of Denver, CO and Tom C. Morgan, Jr. of Albuquerque, NM; nephews Chris Morgan and John Morgan of Denver, CO and Jerry Hands of Santa Fe, NM; and nieces Monica Reedy of Albuquerque, NM and Angela Trinkle from California. LEUTZINGER -- Sheldon Lloyd "Shel" Leutzinger of Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico, died April 16, 2010 at age 89. Sheldon was born December 17, 1920 in Harlan, Shelby County, Iowa to parents Edward Dutch Leutzinger and Ruth Inscho. He was a graduate of Harlan High School in 1939, and relocated to Albuquerque in the early 1950's. He married Margaret Lucille McBride on April 28, 1955 in Bosque Farms, NM. During World War II Sheldon was recognized with an Army-Navy Production Award for his work in the manufacture of the B-26 and B-29 aircraft. From May 30, 1952 to his retirement on December 31, 1985, he worked for Pound Brothers and Genuine Parts, which both became part of Napa Auto Parts. Sheldon was a member of the International Association of Lions Clubs, as well as a volunteer with the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. In retirement, he was a member of Poco Quatros Model A Ford Club, having owned many Model A Fords dating back to his youth in Harlan and Council Bluffs, IA. He enjoyed the outdoors, and spent much of his free time camping, fishing, working in his garden, and tending his pet turtles. Sheldon is survived by his daughter Anita Harrison and spouse Jerry of Albuquerque; son John Leutzinger and spouse Barbara of Scottsdale, Arizona; his grandchildren, Richard Moya and spouse Seddah of Las Cruces, NM; Michael Moya and spouse Erin of Albuquerque; Hayley Leutzinger and Eric Leutzinger of Scottsdale, AZ; and great-granddaughter Avery Moya of Las Cruces; as well as several close friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret (daughter of Job Stewart McBride and Mary Gertrude Grosjean; born May 17, 1924 in Muscatine, Iowa; died December 19, 1989 in Albuquerque), his parents, and his siblings Paul "Buzz," Edward, June Rose, and Shirley. LEWIS -- Ruth E. Lewis, 97, long time resident of Albuquerque passed away April 20, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vilo G. Lewis, and her daughter, Linda L. Welton. Born in Parkville, MO August 8, 1912, she attended Park College for 3 years She received her B.S. degree in 1934 from Central State University in Warrensburg, MO. She then came to Albuquerque where she was employed as a Therapeutic Dietician at St. Joseph's Hospital and as an instructor in Chemistry and Nutrition in the St. Joseph School of Nursing. In 1940, she married Vilo and resigned from her job at the Hospital, only to return the next year when Vilo was drafted for duty during World War II. Upon his discharge in 1945, Ruth retired to become a homemaker. She spent many volunteer hours working for the American Red Cross, at First Presbyterian Church (where she and Vilo were long time members), and in the Albuquerque Meadows Senior Retirement Center. She is survived by two grandchildren: Anthony Opalka of Boise, ID and Kelly Shelton and husband, Jeremy, of Albuquerque; two nieces: Nancy Wallace of Milwaukee, WS and Sharon McNamee of Houston, TX; two nephews: Michael and Danny McNamee of El Paso, TX; four great-grandchildren: Diego Opalka, Marcus, Cameron, and Kaylee Shelton. Cremation has taken place. Services will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 215 Locust NE. LOCKNER -- Ruth Lockner, 92, passed away quietly at home on Monday, April 12, 2010. She is survived by her children, Peter Lockner, Gretchen Kryda and husband, John, Thomas Lockner and wife, Donna, and David Lockner and wife, Roberta; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Avery Lockner in October 2006. Mrs. Lockner was born February 10, 1918 in Rochester, NY. Mrs. Lockner married Avery Lockner March 1939 in Rochester, NY. LOFTIN -- Ashley D. Loftin, 96, resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Loneta; his son, Steven Loftin and wife Margie; granddaughters, Sandra Loftin, Lisa Inagawa and husband Jamie; Ariel Bedell and husband Adam; and Josephine Lewis and her husband Robert; brother Frank Loftin; and five great - grandchildren. Ashley was preceded in death by his son, Jim Lee Loftin; his sister, Jayne Ford; and his brother, Vernon Loftin. Ashley was born in Tulia, TX, where he grew up until leaving to enter Texas Tech University. He earned a degree in electrical engineering in 1937. He joined the U.S. Army and served with the U.S. Army Signal Corp during the war and continued to serve in the reserve until he retired with the rank of Lt. Col. In 1946, Ashley formed his company, A.D. Loftin and Associates, specializing in electrical power transmission and distribution, serving rural electrical cooperatives throughout the southwest. After retiring in 1984, he enjoyed all kinds of fishing, including deep sea, lake, stream, and ice. He also spent time gardening, tracing his family tree online and became active in the SAR (Sons of the American Revolution). He volunteered at the special collections library and public school. Cremation has taken place. Burial will be at Marietta National Cemetery in Marietta, GA where a family memorial will be held at a later date. MARTIN -- Nicholas Ewing "Nick" Martin, 16, died unexpectedly April 15, 2010. He is survived by his parents, Bob and Judith; his sister Kathleen; uncle Bill Martin and wife Juanita; his aunt Beth Martin; and numerous other family and friends. Nick was preceded in death by his sister Sara, grandparents, Lee M. and Lyle E. Ewing, Mary G. Martin and Warren R. Martin. He was a sophomore at East Mountain High School were he was was a member of the track and cross country teams, he enjoyed the outdoors and was a Boy Scout. Nick was very involved in Soap Box Derby, qualifying for five Nationals in Akron, Ohio. He also was active in science fairs for many years qualifying for regional and state competitions. Nick especially loved his family and friends and will be dearly missed. PROSCIA -- Mamie Theresa Proscia, passed away peacefully, April 16, 2010 in Albuquerque. She was born March 12, 1923 to Charles and Anna Cimino in Sunol, California. She attended St. Mary's High School in Albuquerque, graduating in 1942. She later met Nicholas Proscia while he was stationed at Sandia Base serving in the United States Army. They married in Albuquerque at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in 1947. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Long Island, New York, and returned to Albuquerque in 1956. Mamie was an active member of The Italian Women's Club, Casa Angelica, and a faithful long time member of Our Lady of Assumption Parish. Mamie is survived by her children, daughters, Ann Atwood and husband Charles; Barbara Roesch and husband Joseph, son, Michael Proscia and wife Marylin; brother; Father Michelangelo Cimino and his twin sister, Jennie Castro; grandchildren, Gregory Atwood, Christopher Atwood, and Dr. Justin Roesch, MD. SAAVEDRA -- Raymond "Ray" J. Saavedra, 48, a resident of Los Lunas, NM for the past six years, died in a fatal roll-over on Wednesday, April 14, 2010. SANDFORD -- Lavelle McCaughtry Sandford, 99, a resident of Albuquerque since 2003, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 17, 2010 just shy of her hundredth birthday. She is survived by her niece, Neva King, with whom she lived. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Sandford, in 1968; and five siblings. Lavelle began her life in Chickasha, OK. She married William and moved to Maryland where they owned and operated a dry-cleaning service providing services for the FDR Administration. They retired and returned to Chickasha. She came to Albuquerque in 1978 until 1986 to care for her sister, Atha. During that time she made many friends. After Atha's death, she returned to Chickasha. She later moved back to Albuquerque to live with her niece. A memorial service to celebrate and honor this loving and generous woman will take place, Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at French - Wyoming Chapel. VILLAS -- Ernie J. Villas, 37, joined his Lord in Heaven on Wednesday, April 14, 2010, after complications from a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Emily; children, Brandon, Rachel, and Emma; parents, Nestor and Judy; sister, Esther Wingfield and husband Sean; sister, Angelina Adams and husband Buddy; nieces, Isabella, Sophia, and Olivia; best friend Paul Bryant; and many relatives and friends. Ernie was a graduate of La Cueva High School and later graduated with an Engineering Degree from New Mexico State University, where he was also a member of Theta Chi Fraternity. While employed at Intel, he received a Executive Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of New Mexico, but remained an Aggie at heart. Ernie was an avid Steelers fan and also enjoyed hot air ballooning, country dancing, hunting with his dad and entertaining friends. Ernie also enjoyed umpiring and coaching his daughters' softball teams at Eastdale Little League. He was the past Grand Knight at Risen Savior Council #8741. Rosary will be recited for Ernie on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming NE. WHEELER -- David Walsh Wheeler, 83, long-time resident of Albuquerque since 1968, went Home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 14, 2010. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Anna; his daughter, Lynda Parrish and husband, Dale, of Albuquerque, Keith Wheeler and wife, Jackie, of Raleigh, North Carolina; 4 grandchildren; Tamara, Sean, Kristina, and Kelley, and 2 great-granddaughters. He is further survived by his brothers, James Wheeler and wife, Patty, of Peterborough, NH and Donald Wheeler and wife, Carole, of The Villages, Florida. David was born on August 23, 1926 in Berlin, NH. He was the eldest of three sons born to Carroll N. and Marion A. Wheeler. He earned a degree in Accounting from the University of New Hampshire and his Masters of Business Administration from Boston University. He worked for General Electric in Lynn, MA, Ludlow, VT, Everett, MA, and Albuquerque, NM. After his retirement, he taught business courses at the former Albuquerque Technical-Vocational Institute. Then he taught accounting for Adult Education at UNM for 12 years, and, due to his love of taxes, worked for H&R Block for 35 years. He volunteered at the Bear Canyon Senior Center for the AARP to provide tax services for the senior community. He was a life-time member of the Masonic Organization and served in many capacities in his local parishes. David enjoyed traveling, railroading, and outdoor activities, such as, hiking, snowshoeing, swimming, and gardening. He will always remain in our hearts and memories. A commemoration service will be held on Monday, April 19, 2010 at 11:00am at St. Luke Lutheran Church, located at 9100 Menaul Boulevard NE., Albuquerque, NM. Dorris was preceded in death by her husband, Harold "Gene" Young, Sr. in November 2006. She was born on October 19, 1924 in Wichita Falls, TX and graduated from Wichita Falls High School. Dorris was a very loving and caring individual who will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Graveside services will be held at Red River Cemetery in Red River, NM on Thursday, April 22, 2010, 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Humane Society, 615 Virginia SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108.
