DI NELLO -- Sarah R. Di Nello went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 13, 2010. She was born August 3, 1919 in Kansas City, MO. Sarah worked for the Corp of Engineers for over 20 years and retired in May 1971. She is survived by her devoted husband, Edmund P. Di Nello; three children, Richard A. Di Nello and wife, Doris, Ronald P. Di Nello and wife, Tricia, Carol A. Reynolds and husband, Randy; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be held Monday, April 19, 2010, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary - University Chapel. Interment will take place at 3:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. JIMENEZ -- Bryce Jason Jimenez born in Embudo, NM on May 27, 1966 passed away on April 10, 2010 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he resided for the past several years. He was preceded in death by his father Blas Jimenez Jr. He is survived by his mother Mary R.Jimenez of Albuquerque, NM; his daughters, Stacey and Paulina of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one son Jordan of Layton Utah; two grandsons, Angel and Adrian of Colorado Springs; two sisters, Martha Greenwood of Harker Heights, TX, Gina Jimenez of Albuquerque, NM; one brother James Jimenez of Albuquerque, NM; two nieces, Aimee Ruiz and her husband Sam and Nikki Greenwood both of Killeen, TX; two nephews, Blaise and Aiden Jimenez both of Albuquerque, NM; He is also survived by aunts, uncles and numerous cousins. Rosary services will be Sunday, April 18, 2010 at 3:00 pm at Immaculate Conception Church. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday April 19, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Las Vegas, NM. Funeral services will immediately follow at Sagrada Familia Cemetery in Variadero, NM.

LOFTIN -- Ashley D. Loftin, 96, resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Loneta; his son, Steven Loftin and wife Margie; granddaughters, Sandra Loftin, Lisa Inagawa and husband Jamie; Ariel Bedell and husband Adam; and Josephine Lewis and her husband Robert; brother Frank Loftin; and five great - grandchildren. Ashley was preceded in death by his son, Jim Lee Loftin; his sister, Jayne Ford; and his brother, Vernon Loftin. Ashley was born in Tulia, TX, where he grew up until leaving to enter Texas Tech University. He earned a degree in electrical engineering in 1937. He joined the U.S. Army and served with the U.S. Army Signal Corp during the war and continued to serve in the reserve until he retired with the rank of Lt. Col. In 1946, Ashley formed his company, A.D. Loftin and Associates, specializing in electrical power transmission and distribution, serving rural electrical cooperatives throughout the southwest. After retiring in 1984, he enjoyed all kinds of fishing, including deep sea, lake, stream, and ice. He also spent time gardening, tracing his family tree online and became active in the SAR (Sons of the American Revolution). He volunteered at the special collections library and public school. Cremation has taken place. Burial will be at Marietta National Cemetery in Marietta, GA where a family memorial will be held at a later date. MALDONADO -- Frances. "Beautiful" Frances "PUNKY" Marie Maldonado. Taken from our family April 8, 2010. She was blessed to age 67 years and was born in Albuquerque, NM. May 4, 1942. She Co-owned the family business known as Tony's Painting Co. House wife and loving mother for over 50 years. She was brought into this world by her loving parents Melquiades and Norma Chavez; brother Mel Chavez (deceased). Frances Marie Maldonado was loved by many. Wonderful husband, Tony A. Maldonado, which celebrated 50 anniversary in December 22, 2009. Four devoted son's Raymond A. Maldonado 49, wife Lydia C. Maldonado, Joseph A. Maldonado 47, James A. Maldonado 42, and Matthew A. ORTEGA -- Joshua George Ortega, 24, born July 2, 1985, went to be with the Lord on April 12, 2010. Joshua was very devoted to his Christian Faith and had a kind heart for anyone he met. He served in the Army for a brief time. Joshua had intentions to be an information specialist and recieve higher education from New Mexico State University as his great passion was for computers. He is survived by his mother Mary Ortega; father Hank and his wife Shannon; brothers Michael (Barbara) & William Lujan, Eric Ortega & sister Missy Ortega. He has many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews to mention. Services for Joshua will be held at Celebration Baptist Church at 5620 Laredo Road Northeast Rio Rancho, NM on Saturday, April 17th at 1:00pm.

STACHEWICZ -- The Right Rev. Fr. Chester "Chet" Stachewicz, age 70, passed away on April 8, 2010 at New Mexico University Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle. Chet was born in New York and was raised in the Polish community of Buffalo, NY. He continued to speak, read and write in Polish, Russian, and other European languages throughout his life. Chet attended St. John Vianney Seminary in East Aurora, NY and was ordained as a Roman Catholic priest on May 29, 1972. Fr. Chet later had an epiphany which led him to develop deeply-held theological beliefs and join the Orthodox-Catholic Church of America (OCCA) in 1989. He was called to join the Holy Synod as a consecrated Bishop in September of 1998. Bishop Chet served his adopted state of New Mexico as chaplain to several organizations and also ministered to the homeless, the mentally ill, the disenfranchised, and many veterans through his work at New Mexico Veterans Integration Center. Chet worked at the University of New Mexico and in several hospice and addiction recovery institutions throughout the greater Albuquerque area. Even after he retired he remained active in the community, enjoying opera, flamenco, the symphony and politics. He also was ecumenically active and was a founding member and the Abbott of Holy Trinity Orthodox Community. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and private disposition of cremains will follow the funeral service. Funeral info 505-697-9309. VILLAS -- Ernie J. Villas, 37, joined his Lord in Heaven on Wednesday, April 14, 2010, after complications from a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Emily; children, Brandon, Rachel, and Emma; parents, Nestor and Judy; sister, Esther Wingfield and husband Sean; sister, Angelina Adams and husband Buddy; nieces, Isabella, Sophia, and Olivia; best friend Paul Bryant; and many relatives and friends. Ernie was a graduate of La Cueva High School and later graduated with an Engineering Degree from New Mexico State University, where he was also a member of Theta Chi Fraternity. While employed at Intel, he received a Executive Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of New Mexico, but remained an Aggie at heart. Ernie was an avid Steelers fan and also enjoyed hot air ballooning, country dancing, hunting with his dad and entertaining friends. Ernie also enjoyed umpiring and coaching his daughters' softball teams at Eastdale Little League. He was the past Grand Knight at Risen Savior Council #8741. Rosary will be recited for Ernie on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming NE. Celebration of Christian Mass will be held on Monday, April 19, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Risen Savior Catholic Community with Reverend Monsignor Richard Olona officiating. WALLACE -- William Wallace Jr, 51, passed away the week of April 9, 2010. He is survived by his parents William Sr. and Trudy Wallace; his brother, Johnny Wallace, Charlie and Mary Hubbard; all of his friends at Quanz Advanced Auto Care and all of the many friends he had. WHEELER -- David Walsh Wheeler, 83, long-time resident of Albuquerque since 1968, went Home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 14, 2010. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Anna; his daughter, Lynda Parrish and husband, Dale, of Albuquerque, Keith Wheeler and wife, Jackie, of Raleigh, North Carolina; 4 grandchildren; Tamara, Sean, Kristina, and Kelley, and 2 great-granddaughters. He is further survived by his brothers, James Wheeler and wife, Patty, of Peterborough, NH and Donald Wheeler and wife, Carole, of The Villages, Florida. David was born on August 23, 1926 in Berlin, NH. He was the eldest of three sons born to Carroll N. and Marion A. Wheeler. He earned a degree in Accounting from the University of New Hampshire and his Masters of Business Administration from Boston University. He worked for General Electric in Lynn, MA, Ludlow, VT, Everett, MA, and Albuquerque, NM. After his retirement, he taught business courses at the former Albuquerque Technical-Vocational Institute. Then he taught accounting for Adult Education at UNM for 12 years, and, due to his love of taxes, worked for H&R Block for 35 years. He volunteered at the Bear Canyon Senior Center for the AARP to provide tax services for the senior community. He was a life-time member of the Masonic Organization and served in many capacities in his local parishes. David enjoyed traveling, railroading, and outdoor activities, such as, hiking, snowshoeing, swimming, and gardening. He will always remain in our hearts and memories. A commemoration service will be held on Monday, April 19, 2010 at 11:00am at St. Luke Lutheran Church, located at 9100 Menaul Boulevard NE., Albuquerque, NM.
