CACCAMISE -- Joan Marie Caccamise, 55, passed away Monday, March 29, 2010. She was born October 7, 1954 in Batavia, NY a daughter of Donald and Mary Lovely Caccamise. She graduated from Manzano High School. Survivors include one sister and one brother, Ginny Ashley of Albuquerque and David Caccamise of Rio Rancho; and one niece and one nephew, Richard Caccamise and Shannan Garcia. CORDOVA -- Lena B. Cordova, 85, a resident of Albuquerque, died on Monday March 29, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruben C.; her parents Miguel and Rebecca Baca; brothers Fin, Efrain, Eddie, Juan and Michael Baca. She is survived by her children, Evelyn Krauth and husband Gary of MA, Pamela Burmeister and Maria Benavidez of Albuquerque, Beverlee Severinghaus and husband Dan of Albuquerque; four grandchildren, Cheryl Elder of VA, Melissa Heath and husband David of PA, Stephanie Burmeister and Rebecca Severinghaus of Albuquerque; and great-grandchild, Brianna Elder of VA; sisters Mary Roebuck, Angie Lovato, Reyes Jaramillo, and Elsie Smith; brothers Willie Baca and Esmael Baca. HALAS -- Eugene J. "Geno" Halas, 64, a resident of Albuquerque since 1975, left this home for the next after a courageous battle with cancer, on Monday, March 29, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Conchie Halas of Albuquerque; daughters Ronni Lynn Mabin and husband, Rob of Pennsylvania; Laniya Howe and husband, Will; sons Gabe Padilla and fiance, Jessica Gaede; Jonathon Halas; Jeremy Halas and fiance, Ericka Santiago, all of Albuquerque; David Halas and wife, Jessica of Indiana; Bruce Halas and fiance, Shanna Von Dran of Illinois; grandchildren Nick, Eric, Mia, Savina, Avery, Emmaline, Elijah, Ella, and Evelyn; sister Patricia Boggs and husband, Bob of Arizona; brother Ronald Halas and wife, Margaret of Pennsylvania; a large family; and devoted friends Joel Straquadine, Steve Dillman, Martin Garcia and Good Ol' Sheree Blackard. Geno was preceded in death by his parents John and Mary Halas. Mr. Halas served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He recently retired from the UNM Physical Plant, Area One where he worked for 23 and 1/2 years devoted to the South Campus. He was truly a Lobo Legend. MCCOLLUM -- Arabella Myrene McCollum (Mimi) went home on a beautiful sunny Tuesday Morning. She was born to Grover Cleveland and Vicey Ann Duke on September 25, 1914 in Bryceland, Louisiana. She passed surrounded by her family on March 30, 2010. She was raised in Texarkana, Texas, a proud graduate of Texas high school and Texarkana College. On June 15, 1932 at the age of 17, she married the love of her life Marion Dale McCollum and started on a fifty four year journey together. They lived and worked in El Paso, Texas; Los Angeles, California; Dallas, Texas and finally Albuquerque, NM in 1939. During WWII she managed Duke's garage across the street from the Hilton Hotel. She owned and managed the Queens Point Manor and the Don Quixote Apartments. She was one of the founders and board member of The Apartment Association of New Mexico. Myrene was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and joined Central United Methodist Church in the 1940's. Myrene belonged to the Hope Circle of the United Methodist women. She was preceded in death by her husband Marion Dale; son, James Baron; grandson, Richard Miller; sisters, Sarah Dickens Roberts, and Lolita Connell Mills; and her son-in-law, George Bujol. She is survived by her sister, Maxine Metz; daughter, Marion Miller and husband, Jack; daughter, Diane Bujol; son, Michael McCollum all of Albuquerque; son, Tommy McCollum and wife, Barbara; son, John McCollum and wife, Carala both of Ridgecrest, California; grandchildren, Steve Miller, Kristi Tinker, Renee Bujol, Tara Noonan, Travis McCollum, Tiffany Tesinsky, Bryan McCollum, Elissa Sorenson and Cameron McCollum; 11 great-grandchildren; and cousin, Gloria Fryar and husband, Kenneth of Minden, Louisiana. In addition she is survived by nieces and nephews, Lois Turner, Rita Westbrook, Patty Wilson, Bud Connell, Susie Brown, Vicky Speck, David Metz; and numerous great-nieces and nephews who love her dearly. Myrene is also survived by Charlie Burwinkle, a dear friend for over 45 years. She has six German Shepherds; two Jack Russells; and a half Manx cat named Precious that consider her their Mimi. The family would like to thank all of Myrene's friends who helped care for her during her illness. In addition we thank the staff and caregiver's of Home Instead, who came into her life and treated her like a member of their own family. OLONA -- Thomas Joseph Olona, 55, a resident of Houston, Texas, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2010. He is survived by his children, Jeanette Olona-Kelley of Houston, Texas, and Thomas Josh Olona and his wife Trisha Teske of Oregon City, Oregon; his grandchildren Jeannae Kelley, Dominic Kelley, Raphael Kelley, Riley Teske-Olona, and Kyiah Teske-Olona. Tom is also survived by his parents, Orlando and Melba Olona; his brothers, Jerry, Michael, Arthur, Mark, Nick, Paul, Jeff; and his sisters, Catherine Olona and Sophia Garcia, along with numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his brothers, Timmy and Steve Olona; and his grandparents, Ben and Anita Dimas. Tom was a 1974 graduate of Valley High School, Albuquerque, NM. He also earned degrees from Albuquerque TVI, Albuquerque, NM, and San Jacinto Community College, Houston, TX. Tom worked for Houston Lighting and Power, Houston, TX for 21 years. Most recently he worked for the United States Postal Service in Houston, Texas. Tom was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, and served as a Paratrooper of the 82nd Airborne Division. In May of 1978, the Division was alerted for a possible drop in Zaire; and again in November of 1979, the Division was alerted for a possible operation to rescue the American hostages in Iran. The Division formed the nucleus for the newly-created Rapid Deployment Forces, a mobile force at a permanently high state of readiness. He earned the Parachutist Badge, Expert Badge M-16, Mechanics Badge, Humanitarian Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Tom will be remembered as a loving son, brother, an inspirational father, unconditional loving grandpa, and a loyal friend. A Rosary will be recited Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW, Albuquerque, NM 87107 at 1:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be officiated by Monsignor Richard Olona, on Monday, April 5, 2010 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, 1860 Griegos NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107. The reception will immediately follow Mass. The Pallbearers are Josh, Michael, Arthur, Mark, Nick, Paul, and Jeff Olona. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N. RIDENOUR -- Odbert Frederick Ridenour, 72, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away, Sunday, March 28, 2010. He was born November 16, 1937 in Dellslow, West Virginia a son of Okey Densil and Iva Bell Rhodes Ridenour. He married Nancy Ann Chipps, July 18, 1958 in Oakland, Maryland. Survivors include his wife of Albuquerque; two sons and one daughter, Frederick M. and his wife, Millie Ridenour, Brandon, MS; Beverly and her husband, Cecil Mewhorter, Apache Junction, AZ; Jeffrey and his wife, Debra Ridenour, Moriarty; six grandchildren, Michael, Shauna, Christopher, Elizabeth, Kevin, and Jennifer; and 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Clarence Ridenour, Morgantown, WV; five sisters; Loretta (Byron) Boyles, Moatsville, WV; Tina (Norman) Kronjaeger, Fairmont, WV; Iva L. SANDOVAL -- Andres Sandoval, Jr., CPA, age 91, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lupe of Albuquerque; daughters, Gloria Hornbecker and husband, Don of Farmington, NM, Rosie, Angela, and Elena Sandoval all of Albuquerque; son, Andres Sandoval III and wife, Mary Rodriguez of Corrales, NM; three grandchildren, Amy and David Baack, and Peter Hornbecker; sister, Tina Sanchez and husband, Bonifacio of Bernalillo, NM; and nieces, nephews, and friends. Mr. Sandoval was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. SEDILLO -- Mary Sedillo passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 in Albuquerque at the age of 92. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a wonderful cook and always served her meals with a smile. We will always fondly remember "Maria's Kitchen". Mrs. Sedillo was preceded in death by her husband, David M. Sedillo; and sons, Flavio Martinez and Freddie Sedillo. She is survived by her children, Albert Sedillo, Marcella Sedillo, Betty Garcia, and David Sedillo Jr.; daughter-in-law, Dolly Martinez; sister, Epifania Gallegos; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. ULIBARRI -- MaryGrace Katherine Ulibarri, age 72, passed away at home in Albuquerque on Tuesday, March 30, 2010. She was born in Troy, NY and lived most of her adult life in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is survived by her husband Robert; her children, Bob and his wife Denise; her daughter Ramona; and her son Michael and his wife Missy; She had three grandsons, Matthew, Christopher, and Nico. She is also survived by her only sister Margaret Atkins and her husband Bill. She was a loving wife and mother and had a lifelong career as a Certified Nurse Practitioner working for several hospitals in Albuquerque and retired from UNM. A memorial mass will be held on Monday, April 5, 2010 at Our Lady of Annunciation Church at 11:00 a.m. A private burial will follow. WINDHAM -- Margaret Faye (Leonard) Windham, 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1955, died Monday, March, 29, 2010. She is survived by her children, Donald Ray Windham and his wife Jeanne of Edgewood, New Mexico, and Louise Payne and her husband Roger of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Arthur Windham, Albuquerque, Donald Windham II, Moriarty, Stormy Gilmore and husband Clay of Roy, Utah, Carla Ludington and husband Doug, and Rus Payne and wife Keri all from Los Lunas, N M, Katie Fry and husband Brooks of Kaktovik, AK, Jacob Payne and wife DeAnn of Tulsa, OK, and Emilee Payne of Thatcher, AZ. She has 16 great-grandchildren; sister Betty Jo (Jodie) Aves of Albuquerque; and nieces, Catherine Aves Flint of Albuquerque, Martha Atkins of San Antonio, TX; and nephew John Atkins of Los Angles, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband James Robert (Tex) Windham; son Joseph Windham; and sister Dorothy Atkins. Margaret was born in Ranger and grew up in Odessa Texas. She was a graduate of Texas Tech, University majoring in Home Economics. She taught school in Texas, Colorado, and New Mexico including Continuing Education for University of New Mexico. Margaret was active in genealogy becoming a certified genealogist and past President of the New Mexico Genealogical Society. She was also active in the Daughters of the American Revolution, and a member of the Cosmopolitan Club. She was an avid quilter, Iris Gardener, and Dallas Cowboy Fan. Services will be held Saturday April, 3, 2010 with viewing from 1:00-1:45 p.m. with the Service at 2:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87112 with Rev. John Kees officiating. Interment will be on Monday April 5, 2010 at the National Cemetery, Santa Fe, New Mexico.
