BACA -- Amado "Joker" Baca, 95, passed away March 10, 2010. Amado was a life long resident of Albuquerque. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Margaret Baca of Albuquerque. He is also survived by his daughter, Genevieve Armijo of Santa Fe; son, Ronald Baca also of Albuquerque; and numerous grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Joker was preceded in death by his son, Charles Baca; and daughter, Adele Stradford. He will always be known in our hearts as the "Joker" always making everyone in the room laugh to the point of tears. He was the most loving and caring person to all of his family and friends and will be forever missed. BARNHART -- Gloria J. Barnhart, 74, surrounded by her family, passed on to join her son, Robert, on Tuesday, March 9, 2010. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Roger (Buck) Barnhart; her daughter, Gerri Ann Barnhart; and daughter-in-law Chris Dahl; brother John R. Richards and wife Beth and their 11 children; sister-in-law, Cathy Barnhart; nieces: Amy Barnhart-Hatch, Sandy Andrews, Sharon Dodge and husband Anthony; nephews: Charles R. Barnhart, David Barnhart, and Joe Barnhart. Gloria grew up in Tacoma, Washington, the daughter of Andrew and Mae Richards and, after her mother's death, was lovingly raised by Ann Williams. Gloria attended the University of Washington and was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. She happily devoted her life to family and home and shared her love of children, dogs, gardening, and swimming with all around her. Her sense of humor and quick wit kept all who knew her on their toes. A private celebration of Gloria's life with her family and close friends will be held on her birthday. BIBRA -- Harry Bibra Jr., 80, resident of Albuquerque, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret; and brother, Richard Bibra. Harry met his wife when he was transferred to Chase Manhattan's 79th Street Branch after he came home from his service in Korea with the Army, and their fate was sealed from there. CHAVEZ -- Macario "Mac" G. Chavez, 86, of Belen, NM, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at Moniteau Care Center in California, MO. He was born on June 10, 1923, in Las Vegas, N.M., the son of Macario Sr. and Lilia Chavez, both of whom preceded him in death. He was married on December 29, 1945, to Lucy Harada, who also preceded him in death. Macario entertained people throughout his community at various senior centers in New Mexico, and had the unique ability to play any instrument he picked up. He was a master entertainer and the "life of the party." He played Taps at over 150 funerals for the American Legion in New Mexico. He also loved his dog, Libby, who was by his side until the end. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in Munda Pointe and Guadal Canal in World War II. He also was in the National Guard. He is survived by one son, Gilbert Chavez and wife Rosa Alicia of Anaheim, Calif.; two daughters, Debra Chavez of Denver, Colo., and Lil Pfaff and husband Paul of California, Mo. He was "Popo" to three grandchildren, Angela Todd and husband Charles, Chelsea McGill and husband Alex, and Madie Pfaff; and one great-grandchild, Parris Todd. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Benny Chavez; and one son, Rudy Chavez. Memorial services were held in California, Missouri, February 27, 2010.

DELGADO -- Richard (Rick) Delgado passed away in Anaheim, California on March 3, 2010. He was 48 years old and worked in the automotive industry for many years. Rick is survived by his mother Margaret Griffith; his father Joe Delgado and wife Donna; son Ryan Delgado; and former wife Carina Delgado (both of Anaheim). Also surviving him are his brother David Delgado and wife Louise; sister Sandy Thomas and husband John; stepbrother Kevin Whitzel; stepsister Dana Delgado; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Danny Delgado. Cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service for Rick at Mesa View United Methodist Church, 4701 Montano NW (NE corner of Montano and Taylor Ranch Road aka Golf Course), Albuquerque at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 13, 2010. DORCAS -- Kathleen "Kay" Dorcas, 88, was born September 1, 1921 in Toledo, Ohio and was a long-time resident of Albuquerque. She passed away peacefully on Monday, March 8, 2010. Her loving family and caregivers were there to comfort her and nourish her spirit. She is survived by her four daughters: Sandra Peterson and husband David of Sturgis, SD, Karen Kerns and husband Harry of Albuquerque, Jennifer MacDonald and husband Leonard of Albuquerque, Kathy Murphy Prenevost and husband Leo of Santa Fe, NM; and also her brothers, Buddy and Danny McVicker. She devoted much of her time and energy to being the beloved grandmother of 11 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband Charlie; brother Jimmy McVicker; and sister Doris Ann Ridings. Kay and Charlie were involved in thoroughbred horse racing for many years and she was an avid bowler, loved playing blackjack, and was an expert at Scrabble. She was loved and respected by everyone that had the privilege of knowing her and she will always be in our hearts. Services will be held Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas, NE (at Eubank) with Chaplain David Peterson officiating. GRAY -- Stefania Marie Gray, 43, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away March 8, 2010. She is survived by daughters, Kelly Marie and Bianca Marie Gray; her mother, Teresa J. Pittman of Rio Rancho; father, Lester A. Pittman of South Bend, IN; sister, Jeanne Ellen Coryell of South Bend, IN; former husband, Greg Gray of Rio Rancho; and many aunts and uncles. Stefania received her Bachelors degree from the University of New Mexico and was working on obtaining her Masters degree also from the University of New Mexico. She valued her education and taught 9th grade English at Bernalillo High School. She was a former flight attendant for Southwest Airlines. HESLER -- Keith Hesler, 78, a long time resident of Los Lunas, NM, died March 10, 2010. He is survived by his loving spouse, Paula; his daughter, Claudette Gentry, her husband, Jeff of Gallup, NM; his grandchildren, Keith T. Gentry, Nicole R. Bradshaw, her husband, Justin of Bosque Farms, NM; as well as his brother, Harold Hesler and his wife, Pat of Levenworth, WA; his sister, Vada Purcell and her husband, Les of Piqua, KS; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Keith was preceded in death by his son, Clifford; his father, Claude; and his mother, Helen. Keith moved to NM in 1967. He spent his life as a construction worker and supervisor. He was an employee of Bob Rutherford Construction Co., for a number of years, and eventually retired from the University of New Mexico. He also worked for Applied Research Associates. In his later years he enjoyed fishing and painting. He will be missed by his family and friends. JENKINS -- Sky Anne Jenkins, born August 1, 2008, was an angel sent from heaven to bless all who met her, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 9, 2010. Sky Anne, born with Down Syndrome, had two older adoring sisters, Victoria and Olevia; and a doting older brother, Brandon who loved her with all their hearts. Her parents, Karla and Tommy, feel that although her time was much too short, every moment with her was amazing and a lesson learned every day. Karla and Tommy both feel that it was an absolute privilege to be her parents. The world is a darker place today for her smile and her bright blue eyes lit up the dark parts of the world. Sky Anne became sick suddenly with a virus and passed away two days later. Sky Anne s survived by her immediate family, Tommy, Karla, Victoria, Brandon and Olevia Jenkins; and her loving grandparents, Brown Jenkins, Gale Jenkins, and Sue Suddarth. She is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and many, many cousins. Sky Anne was preceded in death by her grandfather, George Suddarth. LUCERO -- Margaret A. Lucero, age 90, beloved and devoted mother, grandmother and sister, passed away at her home in Pena Blanca, Wednesday, March 10, 2010. She was born on June 10, 1919 in Pena Blanca, NM. Margaret's life time passion was raising her four children, from a very early age as a single parent, and instilling in them a sense of work, educational value and social ethics. She was a good cook and enjoyed cooking for family gatherings. Her civic and social involvement began as the Valedictorian of her Senior High School Class; serving as a Catechism instructor at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pena Blanca; she worked for the Bernalillo Public Schools system as a cook and substitute teacher. She retired from her Postmaster position in Pena Blanca in the early 1980's. Margaret touched many lives in so many ways and she will be greatly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lionelo (Nelo) Lucero; her parents, Diego and Trinidad Aragon; a sister, Elvira Aragon; two brothers, Jose and Firmin Aragon; and a very close sister-in-law, Benigna Aragon. Margaret is survived by her loving children, Eraldo Lucero and wife Joann, Gloria Hurtado and husband Lorenzo (Clodo), Hilia Leyba and husband Robert, and Fita Cortez and Ben Esquibel; 15 grandchildren; 17 great and great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Luisa Salazar; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitations will be Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Pena Blanca, NM, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Final viewing will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery. MCCORMICK -- Luora "Jean" McCormick, 71, went to be with her Lord on March 9, 2010 with her loving family at her bedside. She is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Col. David E. McCormick, US Air Force (Ret.); her three daughters, Cynthia Teller and husband, Elliott, Diane McCormick Powers and husband, Mike, and Joanne Rucker and husband, Bill of Houston, TX. She was preceded in death by her son, David and her loving parents, Jim and Mary Alice Langley. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Angela, Jennifer, Ryan, Ashley, David, Bryan, Troy, and Emily as well as three great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Noah, and Diego. She will be forever remembered as the heart of her family and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. She freely gave of herself to her family, friends, and community. She lived in many states and countries and while sharing a U.S. Air Force career with her husband prior to settling in Albuquerque in 1986 to be near her family. She was the perfect "Air Force wife," many times being both the mother and father when duty called her husband away. She also served as a volunteer to many organizations including Mended Hearts, Compassionate Friends, and at VA Hospitals. The family wishes to express our deep gratitude and appreciation to Dr.'s John Burdon and Russell Schultz; the Presbyterian Hospice staff and the caring professionals in Presbyterian Radiology especially Candi Warren and Sara Longwell. MURPHY -- Donna G. Murphy, 97, resident of Albuquerque since 1958 passed away quietly at home with her family and friend Betty on March 2, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Paul J. Murphy (Lt. Col., USAF, Ret.). She is survived by three sons: Donald P. and wife, Bette Cutbirth of Las Cruces, Kevin D. and wife, Susan (Lynch) Murphy of Albuquerque and Kim D. and wife, Patricia Leigh Disert of Albuquerque. She is also survived by three wonderful grandchildren: Emily (Murphy) Inman and husband, Chris of Highlands Ranch, CO, Shannon Murphy and Andrew Murphy, both of Albuquerque; and two great-grandchildren: Katherine Inman and Caroline Inman. Mrs. Murphy was born on October 12, 1912, a birthday she shared with grand-daughter Emily, in Benicia, CA, the middle child of Donald Wesley Wilson and Ruby Estelle (Kirgan) Wilson. A third-generation Californian, she worked as a telephone operator in San Francisco as a young woman until she met a dashing, young Army Air Corp. "flyboy" pilot from Boston, MA and was married shortly thereafter on February 28, 1944 in Marysville, CA. Her husband called it "a date that lasted a lifetime". As a military wife, she attended to her family, especially when her husband was overseas in Korea, Japan and Vietnam. With each re-assignment, Mrs. Murphy willingly re-established her family in air base communities across the country from California, to Michigan, to New Mexico and Florida. Her natural intelligence and curiosity made each move a family adventure. She enjoyed reading, bridge and gardening, but most of all she enjoyed and took great pride in the accomplishments of all family members, including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, even at the very end. She wholeheartedly embraced new members into the family with love and made them most welcome and appreciated. Her quiet strength, caring and compassionate nature will be greatly missed. Interment will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery, where she will rest in peace with her husband. A private family ceremony is planned. ONEY -- Bobbie "Wayne" Oney, 87, died peacefully March 10, 2010. Wayne is survived by his children, Vickey Jo Chesnut, Rhonda Van Marter and husband Steven and Carla Norcross and husband Terry; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Henry Avery Coker and wife, Mary Lou; sisters-in-law, Betty Oney and Roberta Oney; and numerous other family including several nieces, nephews and cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Mattie Deane; his parents, Chalmer Day and Bettie Viola Oney; brothers, Chalmer Day Jr., and J. P.; and sister, Juanita Mae Whittemore and her husband Carl. Wayne grew up in Mountainair where he attended school and met his future wife Mattie Deane. He served in the United States Navy during WWII and was stationed in Hawaii. Wayne worked in the mines in Carlsbad, and then moved to Albuquerque where they lived until retiring from the dry cleaning business. Services will be held Saturday, March 13, 2010, 2:00 p.m., at St. Stephens United Methodist Church, 4601 Juan Tabo Blvd NE. He served during World War II and was a survivor of the Bataan Death March. He was held as a Prisoner of War for over three years. Mr. Padilla is survived by his seven children, Leon and Frances Padilla, Rose Blum, Chris and Greg Nunez, Larry and Yvonne Padilla, Leona Luna, Patty and Arnie Mancha, and Steven and Juliana Padilla; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, William Padilla and Solomon Padilla Jr.; sister, Marylou Gomez; and numerous nieces and nephews. PATRICK -- Pastor Gustiff R. Patrick, 86, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Tuesday, March 9 2010. He was born November 27, 1923 in Wheeler County Texas. Gustiff Patrick was a Veteran and served honorably in WWII in the Pacific Theater of Operation. He was a widower and is survived by step-daughters, Pauline Champion, Judy McLean and husband, Bill McLean; step-grandsons, David Howell and Mike Taylor; sisters, Ollie Bays and husband, Cecil of Los Lunas NM and Gladys Heath of Springfield, MA; brother, Charles Ray Patrick and wife, Annie of Tucson AZ; aunt, Maude Schneider of Los Lunas, NM and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. ROBERTSON -- Martha J. Robertson, fondly known as "Gram", 83, a resident of Albuquerque for 50 years, passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2010. She is survived by her children; Dianne R. Loomis of Albuquerque, John R. Robertson and wife, Donna Ladner of Gulfport, MS, Jep Robertson and wife, Renae Clark of Brownsville, TX, and Becky Williamson and husband, Mark of Loveland, CO; eight grandchildren, Paul and Jay Loomis, Amanda, Jordan and Melissa Robertson, Josh and Tim Robertson and Zac Williamson; three great-grandchildren, Taylor Loomis, Madison Robertson and Emelia and Jepsen Robertson; and numerous other relatives and friends. Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. L. Paul Robertson, Jr. in 1983; and two brothers, Sam and Fred Jepsen. She was born on November 5, 1926 in Sledge, MS to Samuel and Mabel Oldham Jepsen. Martha graduated from Delta State University in Cleveland, MS when she was 17 years old with a Bachelors of Science Degree. She met Paul at Delta State and they were married in 1947. They lived in several places before settling in Albuquerque in 1960. Martha was a first grade teacher for many years at Hawthorne Elementary School, before obtaining her Master's Degree in Special Education from the University of New Mexico. At the time of her retirement she was working with the Child Find Early Intervention Program of APS. Martha loved to travel, visiting all points of the world. She greatly enjoyed walking on any beach and she had just returned from a month long stay on South Padre Island. Martha's home was a place of warmth for both friends and family. Gram was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. SILVA -- MaryAnn Silva-Dotts, beloved daughter, wife, sister, auntie, and friend departed this world for a better life on March 9, 2010, at home in Albuquerque. She was born in Albuquerque on September 2, 1948, the first child of seven to Grace A. Silva and Robert G. Silva. She graduated from St. Pius X in 1966 and attended UNM. Soon after graduation she moved to San Francisco where she made many life-long friends who joined her on wild adventures. In San Francisco she started her career with the government, a career she retired from after 29 years in 2005 after working for the Social Security Administration in Albuquerque. In 1992, she met Dean, the love of her life, marrying him in 1996. They lived for a time in his home state of Oklahoma, before settling in Albuquerque. In 2008 she tirelessly worked on the Obama campaign, an election that brought her great joy and many new friends. MaryAnn leaves her loving husband, Dean Dotts; her mother, Grace A. Silva; siblings: Cecilia LeBlanc and husband Jim, Robert G. Silva, Fred J. Silva, Michele Watkins and husband Ken and Steve M. Silva and wife Christine; stepdaughter, Sandra K. Dotts and stepson, Greg Dotts and wife Karen; nieces and nephews: Jeanette Merriam Wiseman, Steven Merriam, Elizabeth Silva, Desirae Silva, Michael Silva, and Benjamin R. Silva. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces and nephews and countless friends scattered throughout the world that will miss her love, laughter and zest for life. She was preceded in death by her father Robert G. Silva, Sr.; and sister, Teresa Merriam. SINGLETON -- Colette Marie-Louise Singleton, 78, a 40 year resident of Albuquerque, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010 after a brave battle with cancer. Colette was born in La Brodiere, Creuse, France in 1931. She attended her Catholic church and lived mostly in Aigurande s/r Bouzanne, Indre, France, one mile away from La Brodiere. She grew up there with her wonderful brothers, Andre and Maurice Gay. In 1955, Colette worked as a secretary and interpreter at the USAF base of La Martinerie, Chateauroux, France where she met her beloved husband, USAF Captain Clarence H. Singleton who was a civil engineer. Clarence "Buck" passed away in 1974 after only 18 years of marriage. Colette retired in 1993 as a federal employee where she worked for the US Army Recruiting Command as a statistical awards clerk. Colette was a hard working and devoted mother and grandmother. Colette enjoyed daily walks with her beagles, classical music, swimming and her garden. She leaves behind her children, Richard L. Singleton, Anne Marie Wilson, and Dennis C. Singleton; her grandchildren, Daniel N. Seitz, Rebekah L. Seitz, Erick L. Wilson, Hannah J. Singleton, and Chantel A. Singleton; son-in-law, Rick L. Wilson; daughter-in-law, Graziella T. Singleton; and her large extended family in Houston and France. TORRES -- Hector Avalos Torres, 54, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2010. Hector was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Q. Torres. He is survived by his mother, Dolores A. Torres; brother, Ralph A. Torres, wife, Isela Gloria; sister, Dolores (Dee) P. Iannone, husband, Dr. Bert Iannone. He was a caring uncle who encouraged his nieces and nephews to pursue their dreams and potential. Hector was raised in El Paso, TX and earned his PhD from the University of Texas at Austin in 1986, when he joined the English Department at UNM. He is the author of numerous articles and in 2007, he published, "Conversations with Contemporary Chicana and Chicano Writers." "Profe" Torres taught and inspired generations of UNM students, many of whom have remained his friends. Dr. Torres was also a central intellectual force within the English Department. WILLSON -- Harry Willson, 77, a resident of New Mexico since 1958, passed away March 9, 2010.
