BASS -- Dorothy Estella Bass, passed away October 6, 2009 near her home in Willard, NM. She was born on July 13, 1938 in Cerrillos, NM and outside of a few years, lived in Albuquerque and the Estancia Valley her entire life. She was preceded in death by her parents, W. Eugene and Audrey Brown and her husband, Bill Bass. Dorothy is survived by her son, David E. McCully and wife Pearl and their son, Evan of Milan, NM; her daughters, Katherine E. McCully of Albuquerque and Jennifer E. Spinler and husband, Patrick and their children, Natasha, Rachael and Mikhal of Kasson, Minnesota; and her sister, Irene Brown of Albuquerque. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Jane Powers, Sylvia and Phil Levy, and Ruth and Tony Moon and their children. Dorothy worked for Mountain Bell as a telephone operator and customer service representative, but most of all, she was Mother and Grandma to her family and was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She held many positions at church, her last being Historian for the Estancia Branch. A viewing will be held October 9, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd NE. Services will be Saturday, October 10, 2009 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1466 Hwy 41, Estancia, NM. BLACKWELL -- Vera Willene Blackwell, 90, of Santa Fe, formerly of Albuquerque, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband Noah M. Blackwell; parents Ira and Ella Mae Love; sisters Bernice (Love) Nielson and husband Tommy of Baltimore, MD, and Helen (Love) Angelos and husband Paul of Baltimore, MD; and brother William Howard Love and wife Beulah of Salisbury, NC. Vera was born in Trade, Tennessee on March 22, 1919. She lived a life of a career Military wife and the family resided in many locations, finally settling in Albuquerque in 1957. In her later years she worked for Rent-A-Granny in Albuquerque where she cared for many people. Vera was known for her love of Jesus and shared her faith with many she came in contact with and has given out "Daily Bread" booklets to friends and strangers for over 30 years. She is survived by her children William M. Blackwell (Barbara) of Santa Fe, and Linda Liskow (Barry) of Lenexa, KS; brother James Love (Hazel) of Trade, TN; sister Patsy Ann Cavanaugh (Edward) of Taylors, SC; and twin grandchildren Michael Liskow (Virginie) of Brooklyn, NY, and Samantha Liskow of Chicago. Vera is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A Funeral Service will be conducted Sunday, October 11, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at Calvary Chapel, 2520 Camino Entrada, Santa Fe, NM. Burial will take place on Monday October 12, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. at the National Cemetery. BYRNE -- Jean Caroll Byrne, of Albuquerque, New Mexico died comfortably and peacefully with her family in her home of 30 years, Monday October 5, 2009. Born Genevieve Campagna, of Rochester, NY on December 7, 1934, to James and Mae Campagna, Jean was a talented and cultured artist, as well as businesswomen; she received a scholarship to Rochester Memorial Art Gallery to further her studies in Fine Arts. She went on to sell her oil paintings in galleries and art shows around the United States. She opened an arts and craft store, Hand Made USA with her husband Don, which featured hundreds of artists. She had a huge passion for golfing, enjoyed fishing, and loved to cook her Italian family recipes. She is survived by her children, Mark Byrne and wife Cheryl, Craig Byrne and wife Ethel, Karen Taylor and husband Terry, Donna Greenfield and husband Howard; daughter-in-law Tonya Kersting; grandchildren, Justin and wife Bianca, Michael, Chelsea and husband Taylor H, Taylor B, Amanda, Benjamin, Lauren, Jackson and Ryan; and great-grandson Porter. Jean was preceded in death by her grandson, Matthew. DURAN -- Ann M. Duran, a 25 year resident of Four Hills Villa Serena and a faithful member of Our Lady of Assumption Parish, passed away Thursday morning, October 8, 2009 after a brief illness. She is survived by her son Joseph Duran and daughter-in-law Carrie Duran of Tulsa, OK; granddaughter Shannon Ward of Trophy Club, TX; brother John Eppich of Farmington, NM; sisters Gertrude Etchhardt of Colorado Springs, CO and Jean Raterman of San Antonio, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ann retired as a registered nurse from Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK where she resided prior to moving to Albuquerque. Ann was an avid bridge player and loved her crossword puzzles. ELIZONDO -- Ophelia Peralta Elizondo, March 16, 1914 - September 14, 2009, age 95, born in Valverde, New Mexico and raised in Albuquerque, where she lived until the family moved to Omaha, Nebraska in 1966. Ophelia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Santiago (Jim) Elizondo, who died in 1968. Ophelia (known as "Fella" by her family and friends) was loved, admired and respected by all who knew her. Fella was a graduate of Harwood Girls School as well as a life long member of El Buen Samaritano Methodist Church. Fella and Santiago were both active members of the original church located on Gold street and they were involved in the building of the new church as well. Fella went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in perfect peace and she was surrounded by her beloved family at the time of her passing. She will be greatly missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Fella is survived by her sons, Jimmy Elizondo and his wife Nancy, John Charles Elizondo and wife Naomi; Grandchildren include Kim Dugan, Cheryl Reilly, David Elizondo, Jeff Elizondo (deceased) and Michelle Hokanson and ten great-grandchildren as well. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at El Buen Samaritano Church located at 700 Granite NW and burial will follow at Sunset Memorial. Services will be conducted by Pastor David Blanco and life long family friend, Pastor Max Cisneros.

He is survived by his father Andy Lovato; fiancee Alisha Contreras; daughter Maryah Lovato; nieces, Alisha Gallegos and Jamilia Campos; nephew Frankie Gallegos, and many relatives and friends. MCCRARY -- Morford H. McCrary (Mac) Age 94, died peacefully in his sleep in Santa Fe on Saturday, October 3, 2009. He was born in El Paso, TX on May 28, 1915. He graduated from Austin High School, El Paso, TX in 1932. Mac is survived by his son-in-law, Hamilton Duncan of Springfield, VA. A loving husband and father, he was married to his wife, Nadine, for 63 years before her passing in July 2000, and their daughter Nancy and son David have also passed. Mac was a member of the Masonic Lodge #1 and member of the First Baptist Church of Santa Fe. Mac was the central district customer services manager for Mountain Bell and retired after more than 39 years with the company. He began his career with Mountain Bell in 1963 in Clovis with the construction department. Later, he was named commercial manager in Portales and also served as plant chief in Los Alamos and district plant manager in Santa Fe. He served as customer services manager since July 1975. A Visitation will be held at McGee Memorial Chapel on Sunday, October 11, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery on Monday, October 12, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers his family request that donation be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o St Vincent Hospital, 455 St. Michaels Drive, Santa Fe, NM 87505. MILLER -- Donald C. Miller. A resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico since 1948 passed away in his home at 2121 Tapia SW on October 6, 2009. Donald had a very adventurous life. Sharing it with his wife Alice Miller of 56 years, who passed in 1997, and five kids, Dude Penrod, Ronald Miller, Debbie Miller-Taylor, Donald Miller Jr., and Donita Miller; and his great extended family. MOLLA -- Carol Anne Molla, 53, resident of Albuquerque passed away on September 17, 2009 in her home. She was born in East Boston and attended Emmanuel College. Carol was very proud of her Sicilian heritage and loved making Italian food for her friends. She worked for over 20 years in both New Mexico and Massachusetts in the Department of Revenue and Taxation. Carol is survived by many longtime friends from Albuquerque and New England. NAM -- Jason " Hyoung Jun" Nam, 43, born November 30, 1965 in Seoul, Korea, passed away unexpectedly on October 6, 2009, in Albuquerque. He is survived by his loving wife Kim; his children, son, Richard, 17, and his daughter, Shannon, 11; mother, Hwang Sung Ja; two brothers, Hyoung Jong and Hyoung Jik; sister, Woo Young; Father and mother-in-law, Richard J. and Poong Cha Broder; sister-in-law, Tina Denton and husband Matt; brother-in-law, Michael Broder and Jenifer Duarte, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Jason was preceded in death by his father, Nam Bok Sam. Jason was a former member of the Republic of Korea Army, he had a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and was a graduate of Hawaii Pacific University. He was a business owner in Hawaii for many years before he and his family moved to Colorado Springs, CO in 2006. Jason was a loving husband and father who found great joy in watching his children grow. He will be missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place. RADOSEVICH -- James C. Radosevich, age 72, beloved husband, father and grandfather, a resident of Rio Communities in Belen, NM went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at his home. He was born to John and Anna Radosevich on November 25, 1936 in Thoreau, NM. Jim graduated from Gallup High School and attended the University of New Mexico. Jim was a County Commissioner for two terms and the Public Works Director for McKinley County for twenty five years. After his retirement he was a consultant for Cutler Repaving Co. for ten years. He was a member of the San Clemente Catholic Church in Los Lunas, NM. James is survived by his loving wife of 49 1/2 years, Carole Radosevich; their five children, one daughter Cara Marie Rigney and husband, Steve of Albuquerque, NM and four sons, Scott Radosevich and wife, Karen of Strasburg, VA; Mark Radosevich and wife, Patti of Las Cruces, NM; Eric Radosevich and wife, Saadia of Gilroy, CA and Ryan Kip Radosevich and wife, Jennifer of Dallas, TX. Jim was also blessed by eight grandchildren, Cameron, Lauren and Brandon Radosevich; Hailey and Jacob Rigney; Derek Parham; and Spencer and Ryan Frank; two brothers, Jay Radosevich of Thoreau, NM, Joe Radosevich of Arboles, CO and one sister, Jo Ann Elkins of Thoreau, NM. SANCHEZ -- Johnnie Sanchez (Boogies) 76, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2009 . He was preceded in death by his beloved parents Esperidion and Mary; and his brothers Richard and Larry. He leaves behind sister Joyce and her husband John; two sisters-in-law Julie and Yolanda. His three children Daughter Debbie and her four kids Desiree, Gabriel, Joshua and Noah; and his wife Sarah and his great-grandson Ayden; Daughter Pamela and her three kids Joseph, Jared, Shawndai and her husband Osmon; Son Christopher and his wife Monica their kids Liliana and Evelina. 12 loving nieces and nephews and ten great-nieces and nephews. His very special cousins Linda and her husband Albert, Rosemary and her husband Frank, Gloria, Susie, Perla and Sally and their wonderful families in New Mexico and California. He had many close friends from Leroys, Los Compadres, and from his long history of putting watch batteries at Louie's flea market. He was a very generous and giving man that will be terribly missed by all his family and friends. His Rosary will be held 8:00 a.m. and Funeral Mass at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday October 10, 2009 at Holy Family Church celebrated by Father Jerry and Deacon Eddie Blea. TORRES -- Santiago "Jimmy" D. Torres, Jr., 82, was called home to our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, October 7, 2009, with his loving family and friends by his side. Mr. Torres was born on October 15, 1926 to Santiago and Gertrude (Gonzales) Torres, Sr. of Chacon, NM. He enlisted into the US Army in 1945 and served as a Military Policeman in the Philippines during World War II. During his military service he proudly earned the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the WWII Victory Medal and the Philippine Independence Medal. Mr. Torres moved to the Albuquerque area in the 1950's and joined the Albuquerque Fire Department in 1957. He retired from AFD in 1985 after 28 years of service. During his AFD career he earned the position of Assistant Fire Chief and was very instrumental in forming the Union for the Fire Department. Upon retirement, Mr. Torres was very active in the Retired Fireman's Association. Mr. Torres was a longtime member of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener, especially of roses. He liked to box and enjoyed supporting the sport of boxing. Above all, he was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend. Mr. Torres was always very helpful and willing to lend a hand to his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Santiago and Gertrude Torres; and siblings, Emily, Camilio, Eufelio, Macario and Susie. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Ruby (Vaughan) Torres; children, JoAnn Garcia, David and his wife, Josephine, Torres, James and his wife, Lynnette, Torres, Diane and her husband, Michael "Tony," Lovato, and Raymond and his wife, Susie, Torres, all of Albuquerque, NM; stepchildren, Carolyn and her husband, Earl, Zaplin of Albuquerque, NM, and Ronnie and his wife, Joyce, Vaughan of Santa Fe, NM; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Rupie Perez, of Bakersfield, CA; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will mourn his passing.
