ARGEANAS -- Theodore "Ted" Argeanas, born December 22, 1952 in Albuquerque, N.M. passed away on October 1, 2009 following an illness. Ted attended schools in Albuquerque and worked in the family's auto parts store for over 25 years. Ted is survived by his son, Michael Argeanas, and step-children, Rose and Joe Chapa and their mother Patricia Argeanas. Also surviving are his parents, Mike and Anna Argeanas, brother Alex and wife Betsy of Albuquerque, and sister, Sia Raymondi and husband Rick of Boise, Idaho. Niece Anne Marie Raymondi, nephews, Rick and Mike Raymondi and Cooper Argeanas. Ted will be missed by special friends, Boyd McKinney of Green River, Wyoming, and Steve Vatseou of Albuquerque. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his generosity and humor. Ted enjoyed traveling and fishing New Mexico lakes. Ted was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church. A Trisagion will be held Monday, October 5, 2009, at French, Lomas Chapel at 7 p.m. Services will be Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 308 High Street S.E. 87102, at 11:00 a.m., with Father Paul Patitsas officiating. Pallbearers will be Pete Rallis, Tom Argeanas, Joe Chapa, Boyd McKinney, Steve Vatseow and Rick Raymondi. Honorary pallbearers will be Nick Kapnison, Gus Capels, Ted Argeanas, Zack Niforos, Albuquerque and Ted Argeanas of Anthony. Special thanks are extended to the Physicians and Nurses of the Medical Intensive Care Unit, UNM Hospital, for their care and concern for Ted and his family. BARROS -- Richard (Rick) Barros, 52, born on Saturday, March 23, 1957 died on Friday, October 2, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Viola Barros; youngest sister, Janice Barros; and grandparents, Joe and Belle Barros, and Julio and Clara Narvaez. Rick is survived by his sisters, Lydia Gomez and husband, Andy, and Patty Barros and boyfriend, Armando, and their children; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. BATEMAN -- Patricia Bateman, 85, died on Monday, September 22, 2009, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Bateman; brothers Robert Finnegan and George Finnegan, and sisters Frances Finnegan, Mary Jane Clark and Arlie Mae Plichta. Survivors include loving children--son Peter Bateman and wife, Diana, of Albuquerque and their children Dina Kline, Sarah Johnson, Jennifer Myers and Daniel Martinez; son Dean Bateman of Atascadero, California; daughter Deborah Bateman of Albuquerque and her daughter Michaela Bateman; brother Donald Finnegan; and sisters Dorothy Smolen, Jeanne Camden and Elaine Rogers. Patricia was born on October 15, 1923, in Washburn, Wisconsin, moved to Downers Grove, Illinois in 1931, and married Ralph Bateman there in 1947. Patricia was a member of the Downers Grove Woman's Club and the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago. Ralph and Patricia retired to Prescott, Arizona in 1985. In 2004, they relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico to be close to family members. BLAIR -- Sacha Rosemarie Blair, 37, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2009. She was a life long resident of Albuquerque and was born on Wednesday, September 13, 1972. Sacha is survived by her daughter, Abigail Pilar Blair; mother, Barbara Blair; sister, Bonnie Selva and husband, Brad; nephew, Shawn, wife, Lindsey and their children, Bryan, Mikayla, and Ashlynn; sister, Mary Ruth Olsen, husband, Tom, and their children Haley, Benjamin and Nisse Welchman and husband, Jon; niece, Sulie Savage; nephew, Jason Savage; and a host of extended family members. BRIN -- Ruth Firestone Brin, 88, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, died September 30, 2009, she was the beloved wife of the late Howard Brin; mother of Judith Brin Ingber (Jerome), Aaron (Harriet), David (David), Rabbi Deborah Brin (Yael); grandmother of Noah and Shai Ingber (Melissa); and great-grandmother of Sasha Juliana Ingber; brother-in-law, Charles Brin (Beryl); and many nieces, nephews and friends across many generations. Ruth was a well known author of 13 published books including, poetry, non-fiction, a memoir, children's books and a novel, published when she was 85. For 35 years she reviewed books for the Star Tribune, and recently for the American Jewish World. Ruth's poetic interpretation of Biblical texts and ancient prayers made them relevant and accessible for our lives today. A ground breaking poet whose woman's voice was crucial to creating space for women in the traditional Jewish contexts, she led the way in liberal Jewish movements. A nationally known liturgist in the Jewish world, it is difficult to find a Reform, Conservative, or Reconstructionist prayer book or anthology that does not include her writings. Ruth grew up in St. Paul, graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Vassar College and received a master's degree from the U of M. Gifts can be given to, The Howard B. CARRILLO -- Aristeo C. Carrillo Sr., 98, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on October 2, 2009, with his loving family at his side. Mr. Carrillo is survived by his children, Aris Carrillo Jr. and wife, Gloria, Cathy Griego and husband, Leo, Erma Sanchez and husband, Robert, Gilbert Carrillo and wife, Liz, and Yvonne Chavez; his sister, Amelia Esquibel and husband, Pat; ten grand children; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, Godchildren, cousins and friends. Mr. Carrillo was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Carrillo; and his brother, Esequiel Carrillo. Mr. Carrillo was a member of the Catholic Church. COSPER -- Ellen M. Cosper, 56, of Peralta, passed away peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, September 30, 2009 after a long illness. She is survived by her husband, John M. Cosper of Peralta; father, Richard McGuire of Bosque Farms; daughters, Tawnya Cosper of Rio Rancho, and Keylee J. Cosper of Peralta; and sisters, Kathie McGuire and husband, John Broom of Santa Fe, and Rikki Gavalyas and husband, Wayne of Queensland, Australia. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margie McGuire. Ellen was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bosque Farms. She loved the outdoors, animals, and was an avid rock hunter. She spent many years as the Valencia County 4-H Rabbit Leader and loved working with young people. Ellen was a member of the Albuquerque Gem and Mineral Club. She loved to go rock hunting and taking drives in the country. Ellen always greeted people with a happy fun loving smile and loved talking on the phone. She will be greatly missed. CRAIN -- Teresa A. Crain. Teresa was born in Pampa, TX on May 18, 1960 and passed away September 26, 2009. Survivors include her significate other Ruben Soto; father, Edward Horton; daughter, Twila Campose; son, Lloyd Crain; two granddaughters, Daqariah Crain and Alyssa Campos; two brothers, Randy Horton and Rick Horton. Teresa was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Stephenson. Teresa loved life. For those of you who knew her knew that she fought every day for it and she never took one day for granted. DAILEY -- Philip H. Dailey passed away peacefully at the home of his son, David, and family, in Grove City, Pennsylvania where he had very recently moved. He was born in Mill Creek, PA, January 8, 1921 to Harry P. Dailey and Nannie E. (Hess) Dailey, the first of three children. He grew up in Millerstown, PA, where he met Charlotte Phillips (Dailey) to whom he was married for nearly 57 years. She preceded him in death. They spent their early married years in Los Alamos, NM before moving to Albuquerque. Mr. Dailey was a WWII veteran who served in the army as a member of the Special Engineering Detachment with the Manhattan Project. He helped with the design, final assembly, logistics and measurement of the first nuclear test at Trinity site near Alamogordo, NM and is pictured in the National Atomic Museum on the platform prior to the test along with R. Oppenheimer, General L.R. Groves, A.D. Van Vessem and others. He retired from Sandia Laboratories in 1983 after 37 years of service during which time he supervised the logistical and administrative support to both atmospheric and underground nuclear tests. Following retirement, he and Charlotte traveled extensively across the US and made many new friends, but always kept a good number of close friends in Albuquerque. He helped to organize the reunions for participants in the Manhattan Project for many years, and was one of the original members of the Los Alamos Historical Society. He was a kind, gentle, thoughtful person whom friends and family consulted frequently for his wit and wisdom. He was an avid reader, a wood-working hobbyist and a devoted family man. He had been an elder and deacon in the Presbyterian Church since the 1950s. He was preceded in death by his sister Ruth Thomas; and grandson, Philip Luke Hammar; and is survived by a sister, Joyce Martz of Altoona, PA; daughter, Donna Hammar of Portland, OR; son, David Dailey and wife, Caron Carnahan of Grove City, PA; seven grandchildren: Hans Hammar, Ned Hammar, Carla Hammar, Krystal Strickland, Julia Dailey, Trevor Dailey, and Brianna Dailey; former son-in-law Mike Hammar of Halfway, OR; several nieces and nephews, two great-grandchildren, and by dear friends Denis Norlander and Dana McCausland of Albuquerque, and Betty Risser of Canandagua, NY. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2009, 11:00 a.m., at the Sandia Presbyterian Church, 10704 Paseo del Norte NE, Albuquerque, with the Reverend Dewey Johnson presiding. Interment will be at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe at a later date. DEAGUERO -- Andrea S. Deaguero went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 in Albuquerque at the age of 83. She was born November 30, 1925 in Springer, New Mexico. She was a beloved mother, sister and aunt, and will be missed. Mrs. Deaguero is preceded in death by her husband, Tomas Deaguero; parents, Jose and Senovia Sanchez; brothers, Gomercindo and Eufelio Sanchez; and her sister, Mary Martinez. She is survived by her sons, Robert Deaguero and Roy Deaguero; siblings, Joe Sanchez and wife, Alice, Josephine Atencio, Cruzita Valencia and husband, Leo, and Jesse Sanchez and wife, Josie; as well as many nieces and nephews. DELLAMURA -- Frank Thomas Dellamura, 71, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1974, passed away on September 29, 2009. Frank retired from Sandia Laboratories after 25 years of employment. He was an active member of the Elks Lodge. DEMMEL -- Richard P Demmel, 86, died September 29, 2009. He is survived by his children, Theresa Lee and husband, James of Austin, TX and Phillip Demmel and wife, Theresa of Carrollton, TX; grandchildren, Terri, James, Kathy and husband David, Amie, Sarah, Elizabeth and Benjamin; great grandchildren, Jacob, Cody, Brendon and Amy; sisters, Alice and husband, Sam, and Ethel and husband, Henry; brother, John and wife, Judy; and many other family and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Myrtle, wife Virginia, and brothers, Frederick and Harold. He grew up in Raton, NM where he graduated from Raton High School, joined the U S Army where he served with the 517th Airborne during WW II. After the service, he received his Masters Degree from NM Highlands University. Mr. Demmel worked at Sandia National Labs until retiring in 1987. He was also a member of the VFW Post 49. FRIDLINE -- Eileen M. Fridline, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 peacefully in her home, with her husband and brother by her side. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Kenneth Fridline; siblings, Rosetta Crenshaw, Josephine Santoro, Richard Gibbons, and Christina Currie; stepsons, Robert Snow and Edward Wilson; and stepdaughter, Dianna Bennett along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Eileen was proud of accomplishing her college education along side her husband Ken, where they obtained their degrees from the University of New Mexico. Eileen and Ken went on to establish a scholarship fund for non-traditional students at the Anderson School of Business at UNM. She enjoyed many hobbies which include fishing, camping, hiking, running, cooking and most of all shopping. Eileen will be remembered for her loving and loyal disposition, keen sense of humor and her caring heart for others. A celebration of Eileen's life will be held at a later date. HENRY -- Zona Henry, born December 11, 1927, in Deep River, Iowa, to Alvin and Mabel Ehret, passed away on Thursday October 1, 2009. She was raised on a farm in Iowa during the depression, with no electricity, plumbing or central heating. She started school in the January following her fifth birthday and completed first grade in that semester, in a one room country schoolhouse with Potbelly stove, outhouses and no electricity. She went on to complete the second and third grade the next year and continued to attend country schools through high school. After graduating from high school at 16, she attended Central College in Pella, Iowa, for two years and then worked a year on the Grinnell Herald-Register as society editor. She attended the University of Iowa following WWII while living in a barracks with 11 other girls and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. After living in California, she returned to Iowa where she was a reporter-photographer for the Oskaloosa, Iowa Daily Herald, working 6 days a week for $40.00 a week. She then moved to Albuquerque in l953 to live here happily ever after. She was involved for many years in democratic politics, a lifelong community activist and a 40 year member of the First Congregational Church. She served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Albuquerque Public Library and was a tireless volunteer at Project Share. Zona was a lover of the arts, active in neighborhood activities and a patron of Musical Theatre Southwest. She also served as mediator for the Metropolitan Court for over 20 years. Her claims to fame included skydiving (tandem) when she was 70, her love to travel throughout Europe and Mexico, and, for those who knew her, a colossal collection of Nativity Scenes from around the world. She is survived by her husband, Howard W. Henry, her daughter Sharon Henry along with her partner Karen Austin and their children Ryan, Katie and Caroline, son Daniel and her niece Debra Hankins. Her life was also enriched by her multitude of friends - many of whom have preceded her in death. A celebration of her life will be held at the First Congregational Church (2801 Lomas Blvd. NE on Saturday October 10, 2009, at 2:00 pm, with an after party to be held in her honor at one of her favorite restaurants, the Quarters Restaurant, 801Yale, SE, immediately following. The remembrances will feature Frank Sinatra's "The Lady is a Tramp" and Louie Armstrong's "When the Saints go Marching In." JIMENEZ -- Allen J. Jimenez, long time resident of Santa Fe, passed away on October 1, 2009. Following his military service he worked for and retired from the New Mexico State Highway Department after 37 years. After his retirement, Allen provided community service to the elderly in need. KREUCH -- Donald Joseph Brown Kreuch, 83, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2009. He is survived by his children, Tony Kreuch Sr and spouse Jeannie, of Albuquerque, Jim Kreuch of Denver, Colorado, and Bob Kreuch and spouse Carol of Bothell, Washington, grandchildren Alissa Kreuch and Tony Kreuch Jr, Tal Kreuch and spouse Erica, Patrick Kreuch and Alex Kreuch, sister Ina Stewart, sister-in-law Billye Kreuch, nephews Eric Stewart, John Kreuch and nieces Karen Phillips, and Janice Carter. He was preceded in death by his parents John Kreuch and Otha Brown Kreuch and his brother Bill Kreuch, brother-in-law Forrest Stewart and nephew Kyle Stewart. Don was born in Peoria, Illinois and spent most of his life in New Mexico. He was an athlete at Santa Fe High School, lettering in football, baseball and basketball. He played semiprofessional baseball and also baseball and basketball in Japan with U.S. Army service teams. He was an avid and accomplished tennis player. He maintained his love of sports throughout his life and was an avid fan of the UNM Lobos and often attended home football games. In his early years he worked as a ranch cowboy and he had a lifelong love of horses and the outdoors. He served his country proudly and bravely as a United States Army infantryman during World War II with the 164th Infantry Americal Division in the Phillipines, receiving the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and several additional decorations. He was an active member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart and remained active in that organization until the end of his life. He also was a regular volunteer at the New Mexico Veteran's Memorial in Albuquerque. Don's career in advertising sales spanned more than four decades with Brown & Bigelow, Neil Elder & Associates and Don Kreuch Advertising. He enjoyed serving his customers with old fashioned care, traveling to many small towns throughout New Mexico and Southern Colorado. He was a devout Catholic with a strong faith and active as a volunteer with the St. Vincent de Paul Society and a member of Sangre de Cristo Catholic Community for many years. Friends may visit French ~ Wyoming Chapel Monday, October 5, 2009, 5:00 p.m. until the Rosary, at 7:00 p.m., with Deacon Lloyd Martinez reciting. LA COSS -- Lilias Mae "Liz" LaCoss, our beloved wife and mother, met her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 after a brief illness. She was born November 08, 1927. She married her high school sweetheart, Douglas LaCoss. They had a 65 year romance resulting in two daughters, one grandson and two great-grandsons. Due to Doug's work, they had homes throughout the United States always returning to their heart-felt home and friends in Albuquerque. Liz was the "hostess-with-the-mostess" entertaining friends and family at every turn in her life. SEVESKA -- Gerald P. Seveska, 71, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1977, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2009. Gerald was born August 14, 1938 the son of Anthony and Delia Koivunen Seveska in Waukegan, Illinois. He served in the United States Air Force; was a member of the Civil Air Patrol; and had worked for PNM 35 years before retiring. He was preceded in death by his father; Tony and one brother, Dennis. STRONG -- Mona Lou Wilson Strong, born in Santa Fe on April 22, 1926, passed away peacefully the morning of September 27, 2009 at her home with her daughters by her side. A lifelong New Mexican, who studied at UNM and joined the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She loved politics, law and crossword puzzles. She enjoyed living at the Park Plaza Condos and playing bridge with her friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mama and Daddy Heard; her parents, Mona and Fred Wilson; her brothers, Fred Jr., Edward, Guy and Little Allen; her loving husband, Addison L Strong; and her daughter, Mona Janice (Jan) Strong who was always so full of life. Mona Lou was part of a historical New Mexican family. Daddy Heard was a rancher (High Lonesome Ranch) in Lea County and later served as the first Mayor of Carlsbad. Fred Wilson was an attorney and served terms as a Judge in both Alb, Carlsbad and Santa Fe, and was instrumental in the development of NM interstate water rights. Her husband, Addison Strong served as a Probate Judge and then as one of the first Magistrate Judges of Alb. Mona Lou is survived by her daughter, Lynn Blackburn, and grandson Wesley; her daughter, Donna Strong, granddaughter Victoria and great-granddaughter Alex; Jan's daughter and her children, Ty and Shelby Miller. She leaves behind lots of family with the Davidsons, Heards, Wilsons and Yates and many loving friends. Mona Lou will be greatly missed as she had one of the sweetest and kindest hearts. We will keep her in our hearts and memories forever and will always try and make her proud. And she will always be remembered as one class act. Roger served his country proudly during the Korean conflict and the Vietnam War for the United States Navy as a Lieutenant (JG). He then worked for Kirtland AFB as a research engineer for over 40 years. Tinnin of Albuquerque; adoring children Megan Ashley Tinnin, Courtney Nicole Tinnin, and Robbie Garrett Tinnin all of Albuquerque, New Mexico; three sisters Leslie MacFarlane of Eden, Utah, Marcie Lemmon of Irvine, California, Beckie Desmet of Irvine California, six nephews and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents Mildred and Sherman J. Garrett and nephew Ryan Lemmon. Jamie dedicated most of her life to her husband and children. She was always front row at school plays, soccer games, basketball games, football games, whether it was home or on the road. In addition, she assisted her husband Tom in running Tinnin Enterprises. Somehow she still found the time to dedicate her efforts to numerous civic and charitable organizations. She co-chaired with her husband Tom, the Annual Cystic Fibrosis Celebrity Waiters Dinner for several years. She also chaired the 12th Annual Chocolate Fantasy event for the Albuquerque Museum of Natural History. She was active in the Albuquerque Junior League and co-chaired the Annual Holiday Ole event. She was a hostess extraordinaire; the welcome mat is always out at the Tinnin home. She and her husband Tom enjoyed having friends and family to their home on numerous occasions throughout the years. Many charitable fundraising events were hosted at their home and many of our state's and nation's leaders were graced by Jamie's hospitality. People were drawn to her wit and charm and became true lifelong friends. She will be deeply missed, but the memories of her will last us all of our lifetimes. The family extends their thanks to all of Jamie's friends who have supported her throughout her illness. Services are pending and will be held at The First Presbyterian Church at 215 Locust St. NE. WALTERS -- Erminda T Walters, 55, died October 2, 2009. She is survived by her children, Aaron McCuiston and wife, Carla, Shelly Henley and husband, Freddy, Justin Walters and Sean Walters; grandchildren, Makayla, Alyssa and Sydney. Erminda is also survived by her sisters, Prescilla Roybal, Ester Baca and husband, Sal; and her brother Daniel Martinez and wife, Barbara; and many other family and friends. Mrs. Walters was preceded in death by her parents, Aron and Mary Martinez; her husband, David; and sister, Bertha; and brother, Eloy. She loved her family dearly and dedicated her life to them. A Mass will be celebrated Monday, October 5, 2009, 10:00 a.m., at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5311 Phoenix Ave. NE, with burial to follow at Mt Calvary Cemetery.
