AZUA -- Carlos Richard Azua. CORRECTED SERVICE DATES. Carlos was born November 4, 1952 in Gallup, NM to Joseph and Estefanita Azua, and passed away in Albuquerque on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 after a long illness. Carlos attended and graduated from Gallup High School. He was a member of the Rainbow Coalition and the Elks Lodge where he was also employed. Even though Carlos was disabled, he always made his independence clear. He could not be held down. He enjoyed music and sports, especially football. He loved, chili, beans, and eggs. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. Carlos was preceded in death by his father, Joe Azua; and brother, Bernard Azua. He is survived by his loving mother Estefanita, "Fannie" Gurule; four sisters, Jo Anna Parra, Stephanie Hagberg, Christina Azua, Paula Azua-Stofleth and husband, Jerry; six brothers, Joe Azua, John J. Azua and wife, Yolanda, Tom Azua and wife, Dianna, Robert Azua, Fred Azua, and Ben Azua; as well as several aunts; uncles; cousins; and other family and friends who loved him and will miss him. Memorial Services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gallup, NM, on Saturday, September 5, 2009. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following the Rosary. Burial will take place afterwards at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Gallup, NM. BUNNELL -- Jennifer "Jen" Bunnell, age 41, of Albuquerque, and formerly of Idaho Falls, ID and Salt Lake City, UT, passed away peacefully in her sleep, after a hard fought battle with cancer. Jennifer was a vibrant light that filled this world. She loved and was loved by every life she touched. With her passing, the world has dimmed and the heavens are now a little brighter with her presence. She was and is our beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Jennifer is survived by her parents, Dale and Darleen Bunnell; sister, Katherine Gallegos and husband Francisco; brother, David Bunnell and wife Raechel; nephews, James, Jonas, Alexander, and Asher; grandparents, Jack and Donna Ker; and a large, loving, extended family. Jen was preceded in death by her brother, James Dale Bunnell; and grandparents, Jesse and Carma Bunnell. A funeral service will be held Monday, September 7, at 10:00 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kachina Chapel, 6009 Kachina St NW. The family will be receiving friends at French Mortuary Westside Chapel, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., on Sunday, September 6. Interment will take place in Idaho Falls, ID. CHAVEZ -- Apolinario Chavez (Paul) passed away at the age of 67 on August 28, 2009. He was preceded in death by his wife Katherine Chavez; and brother Evaristo Chavez. He is survived by his brother Antonio Chavez; his son James B Chavez; daughter-in-law Melissa Chavez; two grandsons, James P Chavez and Damian J Chavez; and his best friend Marcus. DELGADO -- Felipe Delgado (Phil) November 9, 1943-September 3, 2009 Peacefully passed away at UNMH surrounded by his family Mr. Delgado was preceded in death by his parents Guillermo and Pelagia Delgado; and sister Beatriz Mares. He is survived by sisters Cris O'Grady and Maria E. Delgado; Brothers Willie and wife Yvonne Delgado, Alfredo and wife Ana Delgado; and many nieces; nephews; and friends. Mr. Delgado was born and raised in Santa Rosa. He received his formal education at NMHU in Las Vegas, NM where he graduated with honors with a masters degree in business administration. His working career was as an accountant employed by Molly Corp in Questa, NM, Uno Cal in Castle Rock, Colorado to his present job as office manager at American Legion Post 13 in Albuquerque. Mr. Delgado will be greatly missed by his family and his close friends whom enjoyed his humorous personality. Cremation has taken place and services are scheduled for Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at the Catholic Center on 4th and Parklake in Santa Rosa, NM. GOMEZ -- Daniel (Danny) R. Gomez, 74, was born in Gallup, NM and was a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on September 3, 2009. Mr. Gomez is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Michiko; his daughters, Dannilynn Winter and husband, Ryan, and Anna Marie Sherman; his son, Fred Gonzalez and wife, Bernadette; his grandchildren, Justine, Stacey Faith, Keith, Kevin, Daniel Ray, and Matthew; his sister, Corrine Andler; and many nieces; nephews; cousins; Godchildren; and good friends. Mr. Gomez was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob Gomez and Annie Ross; sister, Geraldine Espinosa; brothers, Richard, Arthur and Leo Gomez; and his grandson, Kelly Daniel. Danny was a Veteran of U.S. Navy serving during the Vietnam Era and retired after 24 years of service as a Chief Petty Officer in 1977. He was a culinary arts instructor at the Crownpoint Institute of Technology and also at the Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute, retiring 2003. He was a board member of IFSEA, and was named Chef of the year two years in a row from the American Chef Federation. Visitation will be Sunday, September 6, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel. NABORS -- Nettie Nabors, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque died on Thursday, September 3, 2009. She is survived by her three nieces, Priscilla Chavez, Lucia Turner and husband David, Dorella Grabowski and husband Gale; six nephews; Rey Sandoval and wife Geraldine (Gerry), Pete Sandoval and wife Roberta, Ignacio Sandoval and wife Laura, Albert Sandoval and wife Lorraine, Robert Sandoval and wife Robina, Alan Nabors and wife Yolanda and several great nieces and nephews. TAYLOR -- Richard Shannon Taylor, 59, passed away Monday, August 31, 2009 in his home at Stansbury Park, Utah of A.L.S. He was born July 10, 1950 in Las Cruces, New Mexico to James Richard Taylor and Margaret Anne Shannon. Married Gloria Jean Kinne June 20, 1973 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1992, and worked for the U.S. Postal Service up to the final stages of his illness. Served in Vietnam and in Desert Storm. Survivors include: wife, Gloria J. Taylor formerly of Los Almos, New Mexico; daughter, Shannon Taylor of Las Vegas, Nevada; sons, David (Erika) Orgill of Las Vegas, Nevada; Kenneth Taylor of Las Vegas, Nevada; L. Dean (Melanie) Taylor of Las Vegas, Nevada; 19 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; brothers, James (Valerie) Taylor of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Clarence Taylor of Las Cruces, New Mexico. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. In our hearts is gratitude for being a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son. His service for our country will always be remembered. Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Stansbury LDS Ward, 5935 Bayshore Drive, with a viewing from 9:30-10:30 prior to the service at the church. WINCH -- William (Bill) Winch passed away on Monday, August 31, 2009 at the age of 83. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mabel of over 50 years. Bill's survivors include his son Christopher Winch and wife Jill; daughter Kathleen Johnson and partner John Douglas; three grandsons, Christopher Johnson and wife Nita, Ryan Winch and Tyler Winch. Born in Cleveland, OH. Bill raised his family with Mabel on Long Island, NY. In 1971, intrigued by the beauty of the landscape, Bill moved his family to Tijeras, NM where he pursued his love of horses, skiing and music. He retired after 20 years with New York Life and traveled the world with Mabel. Bill was a man of integrity and will be missed by all that knew him. Per his request, cremation has taken place and no funeral service will be held. Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 1 p.m. friends and family are invited to share memories at the family home.
