AMOS -- Rosie C. Amos, age 78 of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2008 at a local hospital. She was born on August 29, 1929 in Beaver County, OK, to Arvy and Edna Carter. Rosie married Donald E. Amos on October 18, 1952 in Richland, WA. She was a member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church, where she served as a librarian and office volunteer. Rosie was recognized for her 25 plus years of service with Meals on Wheels, in addition to being a full time homemaker, devoted wife, and mother. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Donald E.; daughter, Lynn Amos of Peekskill, NY; son, Bruce Amos of Albuquerque; sisters, Bess Randles, and Cleo Mason and husband, Robert, all of Hardesty, OK; brothers, Dick Carter and wife, Mary Ruthe of Amarillo, TX, and Joe Carter and wife, Darla of Wilson, CO; and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews. Rosie was preceded in death by her sister, Jessie Schubert; brothers, Ray and Junior Carter. BARISIONE -- Kathleen Elizabeth Barisione, 59, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away Monday, July 7, 2008, after a long and courageous struggle with cancer. Kathy will especially be remembered for her indomitable spirit, her love and acceptance of others, and her dedication to her teaching. Kathy graduated from Holy Names College in Oakland, CA, and received a Masters Degree in Special Education from the University of New Mexico. She taught special education at Washington Middle School until 2007. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Molly Brown, who passed away in 1991. She is survived by her sons, Brian Barisione and wife, Cindy of Alameda, CA; John Contreras of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Marisa Barisone and husband, Patrick of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Zak and Sierra Barisione, and Kyle and Alex Contreras. Kathy is also survived by her sister, Joan Brown; brothers, Mike Brown and wife Carol; Kevin Brown and wife Sue; Marty Brown and wife Lisa, all of Albuquerque; many nieces and nephews and countless friends. BROWN -- Charles Eugene Brown (Sonny), 88, and a resident of Albuquerque since 1975 and past resident of Indiana, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2008. Charles was a first lieutenant, and received the Distinguished Flying Cross, and the Air Medal from the Army Air Corps. He served in the European Theater in World War II. In his youth, he was an avid basketball player on the Muncie basketball team. Charles was a graduate of Purdue University in 1949, where he received a degree in Civil Engineering. He was a registered professional engineer and practiced in several states. Charles retired from his own practice early this year. He is survived by his wife, Olive Patricia Brown; three daughters, Charlotte Driver, Charlene Brown, and Charmaine Brown; and grandchildren. Charles was a dedicated father and loving husband. A private ceremony and interment will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. D'ANZA -- Joseph J. D'Anza, age 96, passed away in Albuquerque, NM. He was born in Chicago, IL, to Salvatore and Carmella D'Anza on March 13, 1912. Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn D'Anza, for 70 years of marriage; three children, one daughter, Connie Arndt and husband Henry of Plainfield, IL, two sons, Joseph D'Anza and his wife Bette of Joliet, IL, and Larry D'Anza and wife Jan of Albuquerque, NM; he is also survived by five grandchildren and three great- grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren. Joseph was a wonderful man and father, as well as a loving grandfather. His love and his legacy will live on and he will be greatly missed. DAVIDSON -- Hattie Louise Davidson, 85, former Gallup resident, passed away on July 12, 2008 in Flagstaff, AZ. She was born on September 23, 1922 in Seymour, TX. Survivors include sons, Randall Davidson of Austin, TX and Larry Davidson of Flagstaff, AZ. Also surviving are three sisters; two brothers; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Hattie was preceded in death by her husband, James Davidson, in 1980. Services will be in Gallup, NM on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 10:00 a.m., at the East Aztec Baptist Church. DECKER -- Diana Decker of Edgewood, NM passed away from breast cancer on July 15, 2008 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born August 7, 1963 in Fort Sill, OK, where her father was stationed in the Army. Her parents moved back to Albuquerque later that year. She grew up in Albuquerque, graduated from Valley High School in 1981, and participated in a women's soccer league after high school. Diana was employed by the Albuquerque Journal for 22 years. She moved to the East Mountain area in 1999. Diana became interested in training dogs early in life, starting in 4-H. She was very successful in the Obedience ring and Agility Arena. In 1992, she began training her Australian Shepherd, Suzy, to work cattle, sheep, and ducks and received her first Working Trial Champion. She loved her dogs like they were her children, and her training talents led to many titles and championships on Australian Shepherds, Australian Kelpies, Border Collies and other herding breeds. She was nationally known for her skill in training dogs and teaching other dog handlers to train their dogs to work stock. She became an accomplished dog handler in the United States Border Collie Handlers Association, Australian Shepherd Club of America and American Kennel Club trials. She was a judge in the American Herding Breeds Association and judged many trials. She also qualified dogs for the National Stockdog Finals, placing her dogs in the top ten in the nation. Her training led to travel to Canada and to Western Australia in 2006. Being the first American Handler to visit Australia, she conducted a stockdog training clinic and taught private lessons. She also visited several Australian sheepdog contests. This was her life's passion. Diana loved all animals as evidenced by the variety at her home. She was an expert on geese, ducks, chickens, and other fowl. Many people came to her home to work sheep, cattle, and ducks in her facilities. Diana is survived by her life partner, Robert Campbell; her father, Darrell Decker and wife Patti; her mother, Geneva Faus and husband Robert; sister, Dewette Decker; brothers, Darren, Dane, her other brother, Ryan Morris, and all her loving, working dogs. Numerous friends across the United States and Australia will deeply miss her. That'll do, Diana Decker, good job. Friends and relatives are invited to a pot luck Memorial Celebration of Diana's life to be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 18, 2008 at the Immanuel Southern Baptist Church in Estancia. The church is located on the North end of Estancia, on the East side of Highway 41. It is a white building with a red roof. DURAN -- Angie-lina Duran Of Corrales, was born February 25, 1983 and died July, 9, 2008. She recently passed on due to a long term Illness. She is loved and will be greatly missed. FRANCIS -- Karen Ruth Francis, 64, resident of Santa Fe, unexpectedly passed away Monday, July 14, 2008. Ruth was a charter member of St. Timothy's Lutheran Church, she volunteered at Presbyterian and Anna Kaseman hospital for many years. MCNULTY -- Leo C. McNulty passed Friday, July 11, 2008 at the age of 80. A resident of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Leo was residing in Albuquerque with his family due to health reasons. He was born February 21, 1928, in Sharon, PA, and retired as USAF Col. after 32 years of service, including the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He is survived by his brother, Michael McNulty; ex-wife and friend, Marilyn McNulty; five children, Patrick McNulty, Kathleen Steichen, Karen McNulty, Kim McNulty, and Tim McNulty; eight grandchildren, Sheena Hamilton, Hailey Steichen, Matthew Steichen, Jenna Evans, Kendall Evans, Garrett McNulty-Sikkink, Sean McNulty, and Patrick McNulty II. MOLINA -- Davis L. Molina, age 59, beloved and devoted father, grandfather, son, and brother, entered into Eternal Life, Tuesday, July 15, 2008. MOYA -- Harold Moya, Sr., beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, was called home to be with the Lord on July 14, 2008. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Moya; parents Eloy, Sr. and Lucaria Moya; and two brothers, Eloy, Jr. and Joe Moya. TAVENNER -- Quentin Luke Tavenner, 29, was received into God's hands, Tuesday, July 15, 2008. He was born July 13, 1979 in Albuquerque, a son of Garth and Sadie Tavenner. He married Felicia Herman de Espinoza, May 1, 2004 in Albuquerque. Survivors include his wife of Rio Rancho; one daughter, Hailey Quinn; one son on the way, Quentin Luke II; his mother, Sadie; three brothers and three sisters; Michael (Jody) Tavenner, Moriarty; Dionne (Lance) Carlton, Albuquerque; Wendy (Michael) McCutcheon-Tavenner, Moriarty; Frank Tavenner, Tavenner's Corner; Elton (Jackie) Tavenner, Gilbert, AZ; Nichole Tavenner, Albuquerque; his grandmother; Mrs. Justo Gonzales, Moriarty; and many nieces and nephews, and godchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Garth; one brother, Garth, Jr.; sister-in-law, Cindy Tavenner; two nephews; Michael and Anthony Tavenner. A visitation will be held Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 6:00 p.m., at Church of the Incarnation, 2309 Monterrey Rd., Rio Rancho. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 18, 2008 at 10:00 a.m., at the Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Mt. TILLER -- James A. Tiller, beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2008 in Albuquerque. He was born in Atlanta, GA, in 1926. He served as a ball turret gunner in the Air Force in the Second World War, but was a peace-loving person to all who knew him. After the war, he attended Georgia Tech and graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design. He married the late Hazel Jackson and settled in Louisville, KY, where his children, Jeff and Sandy were born. During his career as an Industrial Designer, he worked in Atlanta, Chattanooga, Ames (Iowa), and the Los Angeles area. Jim was a long-time member of AA and actively participated in meetings in Corrales. He loved nature and was an avid hiker in the desert and mountains around Albuquerque. He was a talented artist and painted many scenes from the natural world. He was always ready to compete in a game of chess, bridge, casino, rummy, or any new game. He enjoyed good (and bad) jokes and, complete with a giveaway grin, regaled all who would listen. Jim was a member of the Rio Rancho Unitarian Church and had an intense curiosity about history, religion, and the plight of the human race. Survivors include daughter, Sandy Tiller; son, Jeff Tiller; son-in-law, William Schmidt; daughter-in-law, Ingrid Kraus; grandchildren Denali, Connor, Maia, Adam and Eli; and nieces and nephews, David, Carol, Susan, Kathy, Bill Jr., Tom, Barbara, and Jim. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel; sisters, Jean Allen and Marianne Hayford; in-laws, Cliff (Red) Allen, Catherine and Bill Lloyd, Martha and Clarence Roberts, and Hugh Hayford; and niece, Nancy. Jim will also be missed by all of his many friends in Albuquerque, the Atlanta area, and elsewhere. A Memorial Service will be conducted on Saturday, July 19, 2008. WILLIAMS -- Dr. Cortez H. Williams, Ph.D., age 70, of Albuquerque, died Saturday, July 12, 2008, at the Albuquerque VA Medical Center. He was born September 22, 1937, in McKeesport, PA to Walter L. and Mabel E. Williams. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 30 years, Joyce Williams; daughter, Taneka Williams; son, LaMar Williams and his wife, Tosha; granddaughter, Santana; grandson, Christopher; and countless loving friends and students from UNM. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lorraine Williams Lucas and Gwendolyn Williams; and brother, Walter Williams. Special thanks to the Albuquerque VA Medical Center for the great care provided Dr. Williams.
