BLAIR -- Lorene T. Blair, 95, a longtime resident of Albuquerque went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, May 13, 2008. She is survived by her children, Janet Blair, Russell Blair and wife, LaDonna both of Albuquerque; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles S. Blair; children, Charles H. Blair and Joan M. Blair. Lorene spent her life caring for her family, but at the same time she enjoyed traveling, gardening, fishing and camping. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed. C'DEBACA -- George C`DeBaca, age 93, went to be with his Lord on May 11, 2008 in Albuquerque, NM. He was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque born on April 20, 1915. CABBAGE -- George L. Cabbage, age 72, of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully in his home Saturday, May 10, 2008. George was well-known for more than 30 years as an insurance adjuster with General Motors. After retirement from GM, he worked for Crawford and Co. CARSON -- Christine Grace Carson, 55, a resident of Albuquerque for seven years, departed on Thursday, May 8, 2008. She is survived by her spouse, Jerry Carson; her sons, Justin and Jerry, Jr.; daughter, Jessicha; grandchildren, Charles, Alantra, Trevon, Tiano, Tisa, and Traci; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Watkins; sisters, Gwen Williams, Sherri Hubbart and Angela White; niece, Dorian Williams; and nephews, Brandon and Ryan White. Eddie retired in 1987 from APS, where he had been a teacher, assistant principal, and principal. He had also been with Sears for more than 30 years. CASTILLO -- Lawrence T. 1964-2008 Lawrence T. Castillo, age 44, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2008. He was a member of The Catholic Church. ENDEAN -- Janet Endean passed away May 9, 2008 at her residence of 49 years. She was born on August 20, 1921 to George and Inez Miers in Oak Park, Illinois at West Suburban Hospital. After graduating high school she returned to West Suburban Hospital to attend their college of nursing. At that time, women in the nursing program were not allowed to be married, but that did not stop Janet from eloping and secretly marrying the love of her life Willis Endean on June 1, 1941. After a short honeymoon in Kahoka, Missouri she returned to school to complete her RN degree. In their early years of marriage in Illinois, Willis and Janet had two children, David and Leslie. Due to David's asthma, the young family moved to the wonderful dry climate of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Their life together in Albuquerque included the birth of four more girls, Laurie, Elisabeth, Anita, and Rachelle. Janet's nursing career varied from working in Dr Albert Rood's family practice office and working at Memorial Hospital to volunteering for St. Martins hospitality center and teaching nursing aides for the Albuquerque Job Corps. Janet was a lifelong Jehovah's Witness and drew great comfort in her faith of the future as the Bible teaches. Janet lost Willis on May 31, 2006 and everyone that knew her could see the great loss she suffered. Janet is preceded in death by Willis and her son, David. She is survived by her daughters, Leslie, Laurie, Elisabeth, Anita, and Rachelle and their extended families. She had seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. FRAZEE -- Lona R. Frazee was born May 14, 1936 in Knott, TX. She passed away Sunday, May 11, 2008 at the age of 71, after a long illness. Lona was preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy L Frazee and her parents, Raymond and Lonius (Billings) Armstrong. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Lindell G. Frazee, of Rio Rancho, NM; daughter, Lona Jean Frazee, of Rio Rancho, NM; sons, Leland and his wife, Sally, Frazee of Rio Rancho, NM, David and his wife, Renee Frazee, of New River, AZ; grandchildren, Joshua Jessee, Deanna Kimberling, Randie Lane, Donny Frazee, and Cindy Frazee; one great-grandson, Hayden Lane; and a large extended family and many friends who loved and will miss her. GHERARDI -- James (Jimmy) Gherardi was born January 16, 1920 in Dawson, New Mexico to Fiora and Joseph Gherardi, immigrant coal miners from Lucca, Italy. Passed away peacefully at home on Monday morning May 12, 2008. The family came to Albuquerque in 1932 and started a farm out of clay and sand dunes in the south valley. Over the years most of the young men growing up in the surrounding area worked on the Gherardi Farm. Jim was one of the last farmers to remain in the South Valley. During the 60's and 70's his farm supplied most of the locally grown asparagus to supermarkets in the Albuquerque area. He was proud of the fact that his alfalfa and other farm products always took first place at the state fair. He carried that pride over to establishing a reputation of always giving customers top quality alfalfa at a fair price. Jim was proud of his 30 plus years of service to the New Mexico Farm Bureau and Middle Rio Grande Conservancy. A good friend and neighbor he was always happy to lend a hand or help when needed. He helped build the first volunteer fire department in the south valley and was a volunteer fireman for years. He also helped build the church and church hall for Ascension Parish. Jim was never rich but his family never wanted for anything. Growing his own fruits and vegetables and livestock our table was always plentiful. With the addition of his love and guidance we had one of the best childhoods and homes one can imagine. His love and caring for his wife of 65 years, Mary, never wavered to the very end! He is survived by his daughter, Kathryn Esquibel and husband, Joe, daughter, Jeanette and John Torres, son, Dr. Robert Gherardi and wife Nancy, daughter, Rosemary Scott and husband, Ray, ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, sisters Annie Tafoya and Gina Andreoli. A special thank you to Jimmy's healthcare team who worked hard to make his last few years the best he could have, especially Dr. Fred Hashimoto, Dr. Jeff Dorf the staff at Fresinius Dialysis unit. Thank you also to his special caregivers who helped so much, Chelsea Caudillo and Rosa Garcia for making him laugh and serving him his beloved Cheetos. JARAMILLO -- Odelia Jaramillo, age 67, beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, was called to Eternal Life, Tuesday, May 13, 2008, while surrounded by her loving family. She was a resident of Bernalillo, NM, and a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Odelia is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Frank C. Jaramillo; a son, Richard S. Jaramillo and wife, Adrienne; beloved granddaughters, Annaluz and Marisol; daughter-in-law, Luzaida. She was preceded in death by two sons, Raymond and Chris R. Jaramillo; and a daughter, Yolanda. KING -- James L. An accident claimed the life of James L. King, longtime Albuquerque resident, on May 3, 2008. Jim was born June 28, 1920 on a cotton farm and cattle ranch in Saltillo, Texas. He left home in early 1939 to join the Civilian Conservation Corps, where he served in Arizona and Colorado, constructing trails and fighting forest fires. In late 1939 to enlisted in the US Navy. He sent home most of his pay to help his family. Early in his Navy career he became one of the first men trained in RADAR, a new technological innovation at the time. After serving on the USS Pensacola, Jim was aboard the USS San Francisco in Pearl Harbor during the attack on December 7, 1941. He served in Argus Unit One at Woodlark Naval Station in New Guinea. While there, he led his unit to build and maintain the land-based radar station that provided early warning of Japanese air attacks. For his outstanding service, he received the Presidential Unit Citation and was field promoted to Ensign. He was later promoted to Lieutenant JG and served as Radio and Radar officer on the USS Jason. He earned numerous ribbons and battle stars. In later years, Jim was an active member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors' Association. In 1946, Jim left the Navy and became a radar technician at what is now the Federal Aviation Administration. He served in various capacities in Louisiana and Texas. He progressed to Electronics Engineer and other leadership positions, culminating in 1963 as the Airways Facilities Sector Manager in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His sector installed and maintained the national airspace system in the southwestern United States, which includes air traffic control, radar, instrument landing systems, electronic navigation and communication systems. In his capacity as Area Coordinator for the FAA, he worked with mayors and other key municipal and state officials, airport board members and the airport manager. In 1975 he became the first recipient in the Southwest of the Distinguished Career Service Award of the U. S. Department of Transportation. After his retirement in 1975 he pursued a successful third career as an associate broker with Hooten Stahl Real Estate Agency. Jim, a curious and creative person, lived his life to the fullest every day. He built and flew his own airplane, designed and constructed a cabin in Colorado, built stereo systems and painted in oils. He was a longtime pilot and a member of the Ancient and Sacred Order of Quiet Birdmen. He held single and multi-engine commercial pilot's licenses with Instrument and Instructor ratings. He was a Captain and Pilot in the Civil Air Patrol. Jim was an avid hunter, fisherman, hiker and outdoorsman, an expert skier, and a frequent golfer. He was a loyal and caring friend and a faithful church member, serving as deacon and elder in various churches including Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque. He was a go-to guy for anyone who needed help. He would fix your car, fly you to your mother's sickbed, rescue you from a mountain trail, give you a place to stay, help you find a job, lend you support or money. He never missed the opportunity to attend anything his daughter wanted him to because always found time for his family. He and his beloved wife, Eudy, loved to travel and play games. During the world exploration phase of their lives they made numerous trips overseas and in North and Central America. Jim never met a stranger and enjoyed the friends he made during his life's travels. Jim was married for 62 years to Eudora Culley, who predeceased him. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Leamon and Alice King of Saltillo, Texas, and his brothers, Edward and Wesley King. He is survived by his daughter, Judy, and son-in-law Patrick Villella of Albuquerque, his brother Bob King and wife Edna of Saltillo, Texas, his sister Billie Rose Marable of Franklin, Texas, his aunt Jewel McAfee of Saltillo, and his uncle, C. W. DeShazo of Sheridan, TX. He will be missed by his family and his many friends. A Memorial Service will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2008. KOMADINA -- Marjorie Kathryn Komadina died at age 86 following a long illness at her home surrounded by her son, his wife; six grandchildren and spouses; and 14 great-grandchildren. She lived a full life and escorted hundreds of New Mexicans all over the world as their travel guide. She retired from APS and also worked for the Albuquerque Public Library in her 65 years as an Albuquerque resident. She was married for 55 years to Tony Komadina, who died 10 years ago. Her son, Senator Steve Komadina, and family members will remember her in a Funeral May 15, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Church at Seven Bar Loop and Ellison on the West Side above Cibola High School. KUTZ -- Daniel Federick Michael Kutz, age 58, peacefully passed away on May 12, 2008 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born to Carl and Louise Kutz in Joplin, MO. Daniel was a Vietnam Veteran serving his country proudly for the United States Air Force. He graduated from UNM with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and worked at Kirtland Air Force Base for over 30 years until he retired in 2006. Daniel loved to cook, garden, and listen to rock and roll. He cherished his family and the love and memories that he created will never be forgotten. Daniel is survived by his loving wife, Sara Kutz, his children; one daughter, Leslie Arnold and husband Eric and his son, John Kutz. He is also survived by two grandchildren; Marie and Laura Arnold. OVERTON -- Helen Thomas Overton, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died peacefully at The Montebello on Friday, April 11, 2008. PETMECKY -- Alan R., 23, a resident of Albuquerque passed away May 10, 2008 as a result of an accident. Alan is survived by his parents, Dan and Jean Petmecky; brothers, Michael and Ryan; sister, Lauren; grandparents, Larry and Carole Case and Alfred W. (Pat) Petmecky; four aunts, Karen Pino, Elaine Smith, Marilyn Prewitt, and Sharon Kay Petmecky; three uncles, Don Petmecky, Bob Prewitt, and Bill Pino; 12 cousins; and many dear friends. Alan attended Eldorado HS and served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was an accomplished jazz musician and performed at the Outpost and with the UNM Jazz Band. Alan was an avid photographer and loved being in the outdoors, camping, and off-roading. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1100 Montano, NW, Albuquerque. RENDELL -- Gladys Esther Rendell, 88, of Satellite Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on May 3, 2008. Born in Bargara, MI, she lived in Los Alamos, NM and Sun City, AZ before coming to Brevard County in 1999. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Carroll, in 1996 and she is survived by her three sons, Mitchell (Sally); William (Pat) and Keith; eight grandsons and eleven great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2390 North Road, Los Alamos, NM 87544, on Friday, May 16, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. Private interment will be in Santa Fe National Cemetery. RIDER -- Helen. Funeral services for Helen Rider, 88 year old resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, will be Friday, May 16, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gage United Methodist Church, Gage, OK. Interment will be in the Gage Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Johnson's Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Woodward,Oklahoma. Mrs. Rider died May 11, 2008 in Albuquerque. ROBERTSON -- Merton "Mert" Robertson passed away May 13, 2008 at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque at the age of 83. He was born August 16, 1924 in Scobey, Montana, the only son of Juy and Hilda Robertson who homesteaded their ranch just South of the Canadian border. Growing up and helping his father work the ranch during the difficult depression years shaped him for the rest of his life. Even as a Physicist working for Sandia, he remained a rancher at heart. Mert contracted polio at the age of 21. After spending a year in the hospital, he made a strong recovery defying many who thought he would never walk again. During last 30 years of his life however, post polio syndrome slowly robbed him of mobility and physical activity. Growing up, he attended a one room prairie school and graduated from high school in Whitetail, Montana. He then graduated from the University of Montana with degrees in Physics and Math. From there he went on to the University of Chicago where he spent a year and was selected as a Fulbright scholar. As a Fulbright scholar, he traveled to the Netherlands where he studied, worked and learned Dutch. He completed his formal education at the University of Wisconsin earning a PhD in Physics. It was at the university where he met June, his wife of fifty years. They married in October of 1957 when both were enrolled as graduate students. Mert worked at Sandia National Labs as a Nuclear Physicist for 31 years. He had a successful career contributing technical advancements in many areas. He led airborne missions to study solar eclipse phenomena which gave him the opportunity to travel the world. Mert retired from Sandia in 1992. An outdoors man, Mert loved to camp, hunt and fish which he continued to do as long as physically possible. After which he continued to live the outdoors life through the stories and exploits of his many close friends. He is survived by his wife June; a son, Mark and wife, Linda, their two sons, Travis and Matt. Other survivors include his sisters, JoAnn Marlenee, Barbi Shipstead, both of Scobey, Montana and Diane Gillis of Aliso Viejo, California. A gathering of friends and loved ones to celebrate Mert's life will be held at the family home, 6608 Natalie NE, Saturday, May 17, 4:00 p.m.

TAYLOR -- Martha Sylvia Taylor, 94, a resident of Albuquerque since 1958, died May 12, 2008. She is survived by her children, Celeste Taylor-Ryman and Leland Tom Taylor of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Sephira, Ema, and Royce Ryman; and many wonderful friends. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Leland B. Taylor; and son, Timothy Taylor. Rosary will be recited at Our Lady of Fatima Church on Friday, May 16, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. followed by the mass with Father Stephen Imbaratto. Pallbearers will be Leland T. THIBODEAUX -- Paul, 54, Our beloved brother peacefully crossed over in the early morning of May 14, 2008 at home with family present after a two year courageous fight against esophageal cancer. He is survived by his sisters, Ann, Sue, Elaine, Cathy; and brother, Charlie. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Zoe. He also leaves behind many family members and friends who loved him and will mourn his passing. This kind, loving man will live on in our hearts forever. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service honoring his life will be held at a later date to be announced.

VOIDA -- George Voida, born April 28, 1917 in Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, after 91 years of a wonderful life full of accomplishments. At the age of eight he was taken by his mother to Romania, where he lived until 1931 when he and his brother, Gabe, returned unaccompanied to America. Raised within the Romanian community in Indianapolis, George excelled in all that he did, becoming an Eagle Scout and graduating with an Engineering Degree from Purdue University. As a naval officer in WWII, George made 14 trips on an LST to Omaha Beach on D-Day. Later in the war he survived one of his ships being sunk by torpedoes. He married Laura Stadler in 1944, and after the war George and Laura began raising a family in Indiana. In 1955 the family made its way to Albuquerque, NM, where George worked for 27 years at Sandia National Laboratories. In his retirement he was active at St. Paul Lutheran Church, and he was a volunteer for SCORE. His life is chronicled in his autobiography Upon the Hearth. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Laura; and his children, George A. (Butch) Voida and wife, Sharon, Vicki Bannerman and husband, John, Nancy Marberry and husband, David, Greg Voida, and Carol Voida. George enjoyed the company of his seven grandchildren, Stephen Voida and wife, Amy, Rachel Voida Warren and husband Michael, Marissa Bannerman, Ian Bannerman and wife, Kim, Sarah Bannerman Ramos and husband, Julian, Emily Marberry, and Gregory Marberry. He was a wonderful husband and a loving father. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, May 16, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1100 Indian School Road, N.E., 87102.
