MOSTROM -- Alice Darlene Behold, as for the proud one, His soul is not right within him; But the righteous will live by his faith. Habakkuk 2:4 Alice Darlene Mostrom was born to John Lee and Dora Emalene Greer on March 15, 1924, and was the sixth of seven children. On May 30, 1943, Alice married Oscar Boyd Mostrom. Alice is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael Alan and Sherry Ann Mostrom. Michael was born on December 17, 1947. Alice was born in Junction City, Kansas and lived in Wichita, Kansas. She later moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 1942, Alice worked for Aero Parts, a company who made parts for airplanes to help with the war effort. Through her commitment, she was quickly made an inspector. Between the years of 1968 and 1986, Alice worked as the executive assistant to Frank Carney, president and founder for the Pizza Hut Company. She held other jobs, but this one she enjoyed above all others. Alice was a little girl at heart, delighting in those around her and the beauty of creation. The aspect of Alice's life that shined above all others was her incredible relationship with the Lord. Alice passed on many earthly gifts to those all around her, willingly sacrificing material possessions for treasures in heaven. She lavished her wealth on those she loved and died a humble woman of God. The greatest gift she has left to those friends and family surviving her is a legacy of faith. Alice not only had faith, but she lived it always, taking joy in the fact that God is always in control. His will is good and perfect, always for the growth of our faith in Him. She passed on her faith to her son, Michael, and lived it out for her three grandchildren and their spouses. Alice's great-grandchildren also share this faith. Her legacy will also be passed down to future great-grandchildren. Alice goes home knowing that her Biblical legacy has reached three generations of the Mostrom family and will continue to be passed on. Alice also shared her faith and servant's heart at the Sandia Church of the Nazarene in Albuquerque for many years. Before that, she attended First Church of the Nazarene in Wichita Kansas. It seems almost dishonorable and disrespectful to reduce this woman's life down to a smattering of facts. She exhibited the love, generosity, and fervency that can only result from a Christ-filled life. The indescribable and holy Spirit of God dwelt with her. When one lives by faith, this Spirit shines through, befuddling skeptics and silencing every tongue with awe. How can one describe a God-centered life, for how can one put to words an infinite God. One thing is certain, we are blessed to know that Alice's heart was right within her and that she is now and always worshiping at the feet of Jesus. Alice lived by faith. Services will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2008, 2:00 p.m., at Sandia Church of the Nazarene, 2315 Markham Rd. SW. Interment will take place in Wichita, Kansas. PHILLIPS -- Jim God saw you were getting tired, and a cure was not to be, so He put His arms around you and whispered, "Come with Me". With tearful eyes we watched you suffer and saw you fade away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard-working hands to rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us... that He only takes the best! It's lonesome here without you, we miss you more each day. Life doesn't seem the same, since you went away. When days are sad and lonely, and everything goes wrong, we seem to hear you whisper, "Cheer up and carry on". Each time we see your picture, you seem to smile and say, "Don't cry, I'm in God's Hands, we'll meet again someday!"
