ARAGON -- JOSEFINA Our beloved mother and grandmother, Josefina Aragon, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at Brookhaven Nursing Home in Las Vegas, NM. Josephina celebrated 100 years of life on December 7, 2007. She was born in 1907 to the union of Jose B. Ulibarri and Beatriz Maestas Ulibarri and lived all her life in Anton Chico, NM. She is survived by her children: Jose Antonio Aragon (Margaret) of Albuquerque, Agneda Pino (Pete) of Anton Chico, NM, Carlos Aragon (Virginia), Jossie Serrano (Lorenzo), Casey Aragon (Prudy), Jake Aragon (Modesta), all of Albuquerque, Larry Aragon of California, and also daughter-in-law, Rebecca Pino Aragon of Albuquerque. Josefina is blessed with 4 generations of grandchildren being 106 combined. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico, NM, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. at the same church, Mass will be celebrated by Father Antonio Mondragon. ARGUELLES -- Joaquin Arguelles, 83, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed peacefully on March 10, 2008. Joaquin was born on May 3, 1924 to Edmundo and Emma (Calderon) Arguelles of El Paso, TX. He graduated from the Texas College of Mines and was retired from the government as a civil engineer. He worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Army Corps of Engineers, and the Fish and Wildlife Department. Joaquin is survived by his loving wife Maria Luisa (Loweree) Arguelles, their children and spouses, Jake and Lisa, Maria and Miguel Mirabal, Rose and Dave White, Robert and Pat, Patrick and Angie, and John and Leslie; his grandchildren, Carlos, Juan, Joseph, Carmela, Heather, Robert, Heidi, Ryan, Holly, Francie, Becky, Stephen, Annalyse, Nico, Debbie, Michelle, Andre, and Dallas; his great-grandchildren, Travis, Jason Dean, Cody, Josh, Alex, Dennis, Erin, Rachel, Jake, Ashley, Mikayla, and Isaac; and will be remembered by numerous family and friends. Joaquin is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Edmundo Arguelles, Eduardo Arguelles, Emma Casterona, Aurora Villasenor and Fernando Arguelles. Joaquin relocated from El Paso to Albuquerque in 1961, and became a founding member of Holy Ghost Catholic Parish, and enjoyed long standing service with the Knights of Columbus and the Elks Lodge. He was actively involved with Boy Scout Troop #282, as well as organized a youth "Pee Wee" baseball league. He later became president of Zia Little League and was an athletic booster at St. Pius X High School. He was always very involved in the athletic endeavors of his children and grandchildren. The celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2008 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 833 Arizona St. SE. Father Virgil Furfaro will preside over the mass. Pallbearers are Juan Mirabal, Bobby Arguelles, Ryan Arguelles, Stephen Arguelles, Nick Arguelles, Andre Arguelles, Jason Dean Richards and Cody Cummings. BLASING -- Larry Dean Blasing passed away on March 8, 2008, at Presbyterian Hospice. He was born August 8, 1929, in Zeandale, KS. The family moved to Ogden, KS, in the 1930s, and he attended school in Manhattan, KS. After serving in the U.S. Army, Larry returned to Kansas, where he married Rose Marie Weber. Together, they have seven children, 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was a railroad conductor for 43 years. In 1991, he retired and moved to Albuquerque, where he enthusiastically pursued his love of golf, hiking, gardening and bird-watching. After battling back from a debilitating stroke in 1994, Larry hit the road in his motorhome and traveled most of the country, including Alaska. He was often joined by his sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Eldon Dyer. Slowing down due to his health, Larry settled in at his beloved "bunkhouse" in downtown Albuquerque, where he became friends with many of his neighbors, including his best friend and companion, Mary Stratman. He volunteered at the VA Hospital, Rio Grande Nature Center, Biopark, and NM Museum of Natural History. Larry battled melanoma for over two years, never complaining, never losing his love of life. As was his lifelong habit, Larry left on his final trip just before sunrise. He is survived by his children, Becky Westmoreland and Johnny Barker, Nipomo, CA; Steve and Sharman Blasing, Kansas City, MO; Ron and Janice Blasing, Albuquerque, NM; Caryl and Scotty Sheahan, Herington, KS; Cathy and Dan Ruark, Herington, KS; Phyllis and Randy Holle, Hutchinson, KS; and Bill and Gina Blasing, Wichita, KS; as well as their mother, Rose Marie Blasing, Topeka, KS. Larry is also survived by his siblings, Cecilia and Paul Reznicek, Littleton, CO; Mary Kay Walsh, Streamwood, IL; Dale Blasing, Holton, KS; Patricia Simon, Manhattan, KS; and Dorothy and Eldon Dyer, Manhattan, KS. A Memorial Service will be held March 18, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. at Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home, Manhattan, KS. A Funeral Mass will be held on March 19, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Ogden, KS. Burial with military honors will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetary, Zeandale, KS, near the farmhouse where Larry was born.

DAVIDSON -- W.R. "Dick" Davidson, 80, longtime resident of Roswell, NM, passed away in his home on March 7, 2008 after a lengthy illness. He was born to Irene and Wallace Davidson, November 7, 1927 in Newton, IA. They relocated to New Mexico when Dick was a youngster. He had strong ties to Albuquerque in his early years and still does. A 1945 graduate of Albuquerque High, He attended UNM, proudly served in the military and excelled in many sports throughout. Dick was as proud (or prouder) to be inducted into the Albuquerque High Hall of Fame as he was of being a "Brooklyn" Dodger many years earlier. Dick's career in the Natural Gas Industry took him various places. He will be warmly remembered in other parts of the state (Albuquerque, Portales, Ft. Sumner and Las Vegas) as well as Dallas, TX. He had the pleasure of being a Little League Baseball coach to many fine young men (some of which are in the Professional Baseball Hall of Fame.) Dick also coached Babe Ruth, American Legion and was active in the Boys Clubs, booster Clubs, Masonic Lodge and a DeMolay Chapter Dad. He is survived by his wife Barbara, one sister, one son, four daughters, 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. His sister, Geri Davidson is of Phoenix, AZ. His son Rich Davidson and wife Mary of Orland, FL (their sons, Christopher and Stephan), daughters are Linda Latimer of Albuquerque (and her sons Brando Tucker of Albuquerque and Bobby Tucker and wife Amy of Columbia, SC (their daughters, Brianna, Sandra, Lindsey and Kylie). Angela Peyton and husband Mike of Albuquerque (their sons, Nicholas and Sean, their daughter, Brittany and her son Devon), Pamelia Garza and her husband Lester of Corpus Christie, TX (their daughters, Michelle, Rebecca and Kimberlee). Julie Loftus and husband Tom of San Diego, CA (son Ethan, and daughter, Madison) A Memorial Service in celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, March 16, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Community Church in Roswell. DEBETTIGNIES -- Joan "Joanie" DeBettignies passed away on March 10, 2008. Joanie was born in Waukegan, IL on April 10, 1932. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Chuck; son, Robert W. DeBettignies and wife, Beatrice; granddaughters, Savannah M. and Montoya R.; daughter, Lisa A. Shoaff and husband, Charles C. Shoaff; grandson, Andrew J. Shoaff ; and son, Kenneth L. DeBettignies, all of Albuquerque; her sister, Shirley Fisher, of San Jose, CA; her brother, William J. Pulaski and his wife, Chris, of Huntington Beach, CA; and her sister, Linda Kaye Quinn, of Las Vegas, NV. Before graduating from Northport High in Northport, MI, she held the title of Cherry Pie Queen of Leelanau County, MI. After finishing business school in Saginaw, MI, she moved to Denver and later to Albuquerque, where she met her husband Chuck, the love of her life. Once described as 'an original edition' Joanie touched the lives of many people in her own very special way. She never met a stranger and the friendships she made lasted a lifetime. Joanie valued her family and friends very much and she loved children - especially her grandchildren, Savannah, Montoya and Andrew. Humor was always a part of her spirit, as she loved a good joke and she always had a story to tell. Joanie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a devoted friend to many. She will be greatly missed. ESPINOSA -- Henry Vernon Espinosa, 78, passed to God, Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at his home in Albuquerque, after a lengthy illness. He is survived by brother, Reuben Espinosa, of Glendale, CA; sister, Eve Espinosa Buchanan, of Colorado Springs, CO; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Romolo and Ignacita Espinosa; and brother, Del Espinosa. Born November 18, 1929, in Blanco, NM, he grew up in Allison, CO, and was a graduate of Durango High School. He enlisted in the US Navy, and served 20 years aboard numerous submarines, including the USS Tecumseh, a nuclear-powered Polaris class boat. On May 16, 1968, he retired from active duty, with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. After retirement, he remained a staunch advocate of those who serve the US Military, and an active supporter of the Submarine Veterans Organizations. From 1970 to 1986, he was a member of the Professional Bowlers Association Tour and achieved notable success during his career. However, he counted his time as a Junior Bowling League coach as chief, among his bowling accomplishments. After retiring from PBA, he took up golf and was active as a player, participating in senior golf tournaments for many years. From 1969 to 1989, he worked as a Building Systems Mechanic, at the University of New Mexico. After retirement, he remained a lifelong supporter of all things Lobos, with the Women's Golf Team, holding a special place in his heart. His charitable contributions were generous, though mostly anonymous. Through Children International, he was a sponsor of a child in the Dominican Republic, providing funds for care and education. He was a steadfast friend, brother, and uncle- a thoroughly decent man. He will be greatly missed by all his friends and family. GREEN -- Leona Mabel Green, 76, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2008, after a short illness. She was born in Standish, Michigan, and was married to Gardner "Bo" on October 18, 1952. In 1964 the family moved to Albuquerque, and in 2002, Leona and Bo moved to Bosque Farms. They enjoyed traveling in their motor home until his death in 2004. She worked in the Medical Library at UNM and retired in 1993. She enjoyed doing things with her family and friends and taking care of her home, flowers, and animals. Leona is survived by her children, Pam Dellinger, Doug Green and his wife, Pam, and Susan Coatney and her husband, Richard; her grandchildren, Jenny and Nicole Dellinger, Trisha Kacer and her husband, Rian, and Kristin Green; her brother, Charlie Demerau and his wife, Judy; her half-sister, Cheryl Badley and her husband, Richard; numerous nieces and nephews; and several other extended family and friends; and her devoted dog, Josie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gardner Green, in 2004 and by her daughter, Sharon Green, in 2001. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Bosque Farms Church of Christ on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. with Bill Clark officiating. KUSEK -- Dorothy Kusek passed away peacefully on March 13, 2008, in the presence of her husband of 46 years and her children. She was born in Chicago and lived in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, until 1992 when she retired with her husband to Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Eugene, and children - Thomas of Atlanta, John of Chicago, Kathleen of San Francisco, and Jeannine Jagielski of Roanoke, Virginia. She is also survived by her mother, Stella Kozak, her brother, John Kozak, and her four grandchildren--Stephen, Alaina, Paige and Booth. A Memorial Mass will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish on Sara Road in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. LUTIN -- Sallie Lutin passed away on March 6, 2008. Her parents, Gerald and Lula Lutin, precede her in death. She was born and raised in Colorado, graduating from Sterling High School. Ms. Lutin attended the University of New Mexico, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, and was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. She worked at the Aquinas Newman Center for six years, taught school for a brief period of time, and then was employed at UNM for over thirty years. She enjoyed playing tennis, reading mystery novels, and spoiling her cat. Her cousins, Lee Ann Cook of Renton, WA, and Mary Lynn Wilson of Albuquerque, and their families survive her, as do many cherished friends. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at 10:00 a.m., at the UNM Alumni Chapel, with the Reverend Marc Wilson, STM, officiating. Inurnment will be at the City of Sterling Riverside Cemetery at a later date. Contributions in Ms. Lutin's memory may be made to the Rio Grande Zoo, for the care and feeding of the large cats.

MOUNTAIN -- BEATRICE Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 15, 2008 for Bea Mountain, an almost 60 year resident of Belen. Mrs. Mountain, as many people called her, passed away March 11, 2008 at a Belen nursing home after an extended illness. Born January 21, 1912, in Kinsley, Kansas, Bea Lengel worked as a seamstress before her marriage to Samuel Fiske Mountain in 1936. Fiske and Bea met when Bea accompanied Fiske who was an accomplished violist. Bea was also an accomplished musician who played the pipe organ at Saint Paul's Lutheran Church in Wichita, Kansas, starting at the age of 16. Following their marriage, Bea and Fiske lived in Kansas until moving to the Raton and Springer area in the early 1940s. Bea and Fiske arrived in Belen in 1949 where he was the orchestra and bandleader for the Belen schools. Fiske passed away in 1969. Bea taught private piano lesson in her home for years, teaching hundreds of students who fondly remember her. In addition, Bea played at most of the churches in Belen as well as for the Belen Eastern Star, Masonic Lodge and Rainbow Girls. She was the Grand Organist for the State of New Mexico and also served as Worthy Matron for the Magdalena Eastern Star. She is survived by her children, Patricia Bullard and husband, Phil; Susan Myers and husband, Bruce; John Mountain and wife, Joy; Jeanne Abbott and husband, Jim; Samuel Mountain and wife, Sherri; and Nancy Huning and husband, Louis; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Carolyn Pitts of Wichita; and one brother, Herbert Lengel of Glen Carbon, Illinois. A viewing will be held at the First Baptist Church of Los Chavez, on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Boyd Morerod officiating. Interment will follow at the Terrace Grove Cemetery in Belen Pallbearers will be Mike Buxton, Brian Lengel, Jason Mountain, Louie Huning, Jr., Adam Gonzalez and Clayton Stallings. Dorothea was born on January 9, 1938 to Karl and Margarete Dinges Boin of Pirmasens, Germany. She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Jose J. REED -- Patrick Donovan Reed, was born October 2, 1959, and died March 8, 2008 in his sleep. He lived in Corrales throughout his life. Patrick was a kind and gentle person. He suffered from Paranoid Schizophrenia for 30 years. He had a Framer Contractors License in the early 1980s, and also worked for Sal and Dave Fresquez at the Farmers Feed Store for 15 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles J. Reed. He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth; and siblings Tim, Dan, Tom, Margaret and Joe. A viewing will take place in the family home on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary at family home to follow at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 14, 2008 at San Ysidro Church in Corrales, with interment to follow at San Ysidro Parrish Cemetery. ROBERTS -- John Roberts, 88, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2008. John was born in Osceola, Missouri on January 16, 1920 to John H. Roberts and deceased Mother. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy. John was preceded in death by his son, Melvin Roberts of Albuquerque. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen; his children, Gary Roberts of Arlington, TX and Roger Roberts of Bosque Farms, NM. John is also survived by nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. WRAY -- Jeannie (Young) Wray, 64, passed away on March 11, 2008, following a short illness. She was surrounded by family and friends. Jeannie was born in Albuquerque on July 9, 1943. She is survived by her loving husband, James. They were married at Central United Methodist Church on December 29, 1963. She is also survived by her daughter, Leslie McBride and husband, William; Dallas Ulibarri and husband, Victor; grandchildren, Max and Matilda; mother, Eloise Young and brother, Robert Young. Jeannie had a successful interior design career in Albuquerque, Santa Fe and El Paso, TX. She enjoyed gardening, walking and renovating houses; however, her passion was her family. She shared her love openly and continually demonstrated unselfish generosity. She adored caring for and spending time with her grandchildren. Her commitment to her family was unwavering. We are so thankful to have shared her beautiful, graceful spirit. She will be greatly missed by all those who were touched by her life.
