KERBY -- Rachael Hope Baca Kerby, age 39, a resident of Belen, NM, passed away after a long illness on Wednesday, July 4, 2007. May the peace of the Lord be with you always, Rachael. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Monica and Tranquilino Baca and Enrique and Juanita Trujillo. Rachael is survived by her son, Dustin Kerby; her father and mother, Tony and Sofie Baca; her siblings and their spouses, Cathy McCartney and Greg Sachs, Mary Louise Britton, Tiana (Annette) Kaula, Arlene and Pete Gabaldon, Anthony and Thiel Baca, Peter Baca, Sandra Wright, Raymond and Michelle Baca, Audra and Fernando D'Arcangeli, Melissa and Kenn Reeves, Paulette and Mark Asplund. Rachael is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Jason and Valerie McCartney, Brian and Erica McCartney, Brandon Britton, Keola, Keoni and Kalani Kaula, Sophia and Petie Gabaldon, Jacob and Mathew Baca, Justin, Adam and Marla Baca, Marshall Wright, Joshua, Nicholas and Julia Baca, Candice, Cameron, Kayla and Kaitlyn D'Arcangeli, Raegan and Ryan Reeves and Zechariah Baca; her grandnieces and nephews, Darren, Abrianna, Thomas, Mateo and Jaiden McCartney; her aunts and uncles, Eloisa Stephens, Arturo and Margie Romero, Eddie Baca, Bernie and Mary Leyba, Perfie and Ray Chavez, and Johnny Trujillo; and all her many extended cousins. Rachael always kept her little friends and family at the Wright Choice Learning Center and the Little Learners Child Development Center in her thoughts. A public viewing will be held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel, on Friday, July 6, 2007 at 5:30 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. A final visitation will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, on Saturday, July 7, 2007 at 8:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jason and Brian McCartney, Justin Baca, Kalani Kaula, Petie Gabaldon, Mathew Baca, Joshua Baca, and Cameron D'Arcangeli. MCAFEE -- Stella McAfee, 74, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away at her home Friday, June 29, 2007, amongst her family. She was born on November 4, 1932 in Albuquerque to Nicholas and Antonia Gallegos. She married George McAfee on July 25, 1952 in Albuquerque. Stella was a current member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and a former member of San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church, where she was active with the School Board, Parish Council, former PTA President, and was very active with St. Pius X High School. She also taught Bi-Lingual education at VanBuren Middle School for over seven years, as well as assisted her husband, George as his bookkeeper in his automotive radiator service, McAfee Radiator Service, for over 30 years. Stella enjoyed spending time at Highland Senior Center and working at election polls. She was a proud graduate from TOPS and was very active in her grandchildren's lives. Stella is survived by her husband of 55 years, George; daughter, Deborah E. King; son, George Nicholas McAfee, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Michael George King and Ryan Matthew King; sister, Jennie G. Downey and husband, Joe of Alamogordo, NM; brother, Isidor Gallegos of Albuquerque; uncle, Eddie Mayer of Albuquerque; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lizzie Center and brother, Ray Gallegos. Rosary will be recited Thursday, July 5, 2007, 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated Friday, July 6, 2007, 10:00 a.m., also at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Julian Apodaca, Billy Center, Isidor Gallegos, Lisa Lowery, Eric Marentes, Anthony Vejar, and Ray Gallegos. QUILLIN -- Shirley D. Quillin, 73, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, went to be with the angels on Wednesday, July 4, 2007. She was born July 1, 1934 in San Diego, CA. Shirley is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 54 years, Norman; children Debbie, Terry, Darrell and LeAnn; grandchildren, Mary and Jacque Caswell, Elias, Sara and Jacob Jaber, Katy and Kimberly Quillin, Wayne and Garrett Napoleone; four great-grandchildren including, Elias Young; and her good friends Beverly Draper and Catherine Martin. Shirley loved to shop; loved Christmas; loved league bowling; and loved to camp with the family. Memorial service will be Sunday, July 8, 2007, 1:00 p.m. at the Masonic Temple, 3801 Osuna Blvd. NE. VANCE -- Naomi Jeffery Vance, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, July 2, 2007 at the age of 94. Naomi was born in Phoenix, AZ on November 27, 1912. She grew up there and graduated from Phoenix Union High School. Naomi and her husband, the late Harry V. Vance, came to live in Albuquerque with their two young children in early 1938. They owned and operated the local office of the Tri-State Credit Association in downtown Albuquerque for many years. Naomi is survived by her son, William Vance and wife, Pamela, of Albuquerque; daughter, Ginger Tankersley of Lake Worth, FL; five grandchildren, Karina Gautheir, Jeffery Vance, Julie Harrington, Jennifer Sandberg, and Vance Tankersley; six great-grandchildren; sister, Reta Jeffery Fowler of Pacifica, CA; and two nephews, Bruce Fowler and Tom Fowler. Naomi had a long and happy life on Solano Dr. NE with her friends and neighbors who meant so much to her. A memorial service will be held for Naomi on Saturday, July 7, 2007, 2:00 p.m., at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 924 Menaul NE. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. CAMPOS -- Tomas Campos was at home with his sister when the Lord called him home June 27, 2007. Tomas was born February 14, 1945 in Corona, NM. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ieta Encinias; father, Luis Campos; brothers, Martin Campos and Ruby Encinias; sister, Tillie Campos. He is survived by one son, Adrian Tomas Campos of Albuquerque; two daughters, Monica and Erica Campos of Castro Valley, CA; two grandchildren, Jemiela and Sammy Campos; two sisters, Margie Campos of Lubbock, Jean Chavez (Tranquilino) of Corona; two brothers, Chris and David Encinias of Roswell; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday July 7, 2007 at Corona Cemetery, Corona, NM at 11:00 a.m.

CASTILLO -- Ron J. Castillo (Two Hats), a resident of Las Maravillas, Los Lunas, NM, age 65, went to join the Lord on July 4, 2007. He was the most loving and dearest husband of Arlene (Karla), most devoted and loving father of Librado, Andreanna, and Michael and wife, Saya. He loved and adored his grandchildren, Taylor, Kaitlin, and Jacob. He also loved his brother, Charles and sister-in-law, Lois Castillo, Iva Castillo and is still survived by sister, Linda. He was preceded in death by brother, Jerry and niece, Lena and parents, Julian and Frances Castillo. Ron was very devoted to his friends and a member of First Baptist Church in Belen. He was well known all over the country. He served in the U.S. Army in 1961. He was an owner-operator for Bekins Van Lines and United Van Lines for 30 years doing trade shows. After he retired in 2004, he worked for Home Depot in Los Lunas until he became seriously ill with lung cancer. He fought a hard battle for two years with radiation and chemotherapy and with much support and love from the New Mexico Cancer Center, and also much support from Lovelace Hospital, and The Heights of Laurel Meadows who tried so desperately to help Ron thru all of this. He and his wife thank everyone for all their love and prayers and support from everyone they know. Ron was very courageous and had much strength no matter how ill or how much pain he endured. He always reassured everyone that every step of the way was worth it. "A Better Place". A Memorial Rosary will be on Monday, July 9, 2007, 7:00 p.m., French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd Chapel. GEVING -- Paul W. Geving, 60, of Mountainair, NM passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at his home in Mountainair, NM. Paul was born May 22, 1947 in Southfield, MI to Paul and Ruth (Pludaman) Geving. He was preceded in death by his parents. Paul is survived by his son, Bill Geving of Florida; granddaughters, Kristin Geving and Amada Geving.
