BARON -- Stanley J. Baron, 88, loving husband, dad, and grandpa, went to be with the Lord Saturday, November 17, 2007. He was born in Holyoke, MA, one of six children of Mary and John Bajowski, who immigrated from Poland. He was raised in West Springfield, MA, where at age 20 he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and was sent to Chanute AFB in Rantoul, IL for training. His military career included service in WWII (stateside and Okinawa) and assignments in Texas, California, France, Massachusetts, Korea, and New Mexico. Stanley retired from the Air Force at the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4 in 1968. His last duty assignment was with the 4925th Field Maintenance Squadron at Kirtland. His military career was in airframe repair, fabrications, and metal working. He continued his career as a civilian doing similar work for the Air Force at Chanute AFB and Kirtland AFB, where he retired from Civil Service in 1981. Throughout his life, Stanley enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, golfing, bowling, and "projects" around the house. He loved spending time with family and friends at home and at church, where he was very active at Highland, Hoffmantown, and Sandia Baptist over a period of 40 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Grace; son, Paul Baron and wife, Carole; daughter, Mary McPeters and husband, Lloyd; grandchildren, Julie Ellis and husband, John, Jill Baron and husband, Chris Winch, Scott Baron, and Katie Stephens and husband, Shane; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Ted Bajowski and wife, Joan and Frank Bajowski and wife, Jenny; and many other family members. Services will be held Sunday, November 25, 2007, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Interment will take place Monday, November 26, 2007, 10:00 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. BARRY -- COLLEEN P.---Ms. Colleen P. Barry, 45, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque passed away on November 21, 2007, at home with her loving family at her side. Colleen is survived by her mother, Beatrice (Betty) Gonzalez; two sisters, Carmen Jean Garcia and Cathy Nolen; two brothers, Jack Barry Sr. and Manuel Gonzalez and fiancee, Nichole Garcia; her nieces and nephews, Rhonda, Jack Anthony Jr., Stephen, Angelica, Gabriella, Zion and Sarita Sol; her two great-nieces, Breanna and Jade; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Colleen was preceded in death by her father, John H. Barry. She attended Holy Rosary Catholic Church and was a graduate of West Mesa High, Class of 1980. Colleen is loved by all and will be greatly missed. BOYLAN -- THOMAS We lost Thomas Boylan last Friday, November 16, 2007. He was the beloved husband of Margo, cherished father of Marilyn, Malesha and Donovan and a dear friend to countless others. Tom was a pioneer in Pain Medicine and his patients were not just patients, but friends. Tom never turned a patient away and always spent as much time as necessary with his patients. Tom was well respected by his colleagues and loved by his many patients. He will be remembered in the ballooning community as a consummate gentleman, and referred to as a "class act" by his fellow pilots. He was always interested in sharing his love of ballooning with others. His goodwill, gentle demeanor and enthusiastic love for flight made him a true ambassador of ballooning. Tom also had a love of Fly Fishing and enjoyed his many fishing trips with his "Band of Brothers". Tom was born January 16, 1945 in Flushing, NY. At a very early age he moved to Colorado and grew up in Grand Junction. Tom graduated from Colorado State University, C.O.M.P. Osteopathic Medical School in Pomona, CA, and completed his residency at the Cleveland Clinic. He then moved back to Fort Collins in 1988 and founded Front Range Pain Medicine. Tom died in a sport he loved. He will be greatly missed by his three brothers-in-law, Ron, Kim, and Mark; his two sisters-in-law, Paulette and Stonie; his adopted family the Hanzliks; his special twin brother, Steven; his sister; his nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Johns XXIII, Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of life at 5:00 p.m., at the Silver Grill Cafe. BRANDT -- Richard "Ralph" Brandt, 79, died Friday, November 16, 2007 after a long battle with Metastatic Colon Cancer which he fought with great courage as he did with many other obstacles in life. He enjoyed telling jokes and entertaining others even while taking Chemo Therapy and was an optimistic and courageous person. Born to Richard and Lydia Brandt in Illinois he came to Albuquerque as a child when his father came seeking a cure for Tuberculosis. Ralph was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in which he was an active member for all his life. Ralph loved to draw pictures for the Students of Immanuel Lutheran School and he and his son, Sterling made a graduation poster for the 8th graders for many years. He was a graduate of Albuquerque High School and attended Browning School to learn telegraphy. He became a Telegraph Operator for the Santa Fe Railroad where he retired after 37 years. He was known by his co-workers as "Bear Cat". Mr. Brandt was also a union representative and an advocate for his fellow workers. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Ralph is survived by his wife of 43 years, Catherine; sons, Richard and Sterling, who affectionately called him the Big Bear; nieces, Carin Jones and Jill Healon and her family in California; nephew, David Flaig; many Stiegman cousins, Eugene Gaffner and Geraldine Twenhawful, all of Illinois, and many friends. The family would like to express a special thanks to the members of Immanuel Lutheran Church, also Pastor Walquist and Alan Geuder for their many visits, Presbyterian Hospice, Dr. Lin and his wonderful nurses, and the many friends and neighbors who were so gracious and helpful. DAUT -- Joan Grace Daut, 78, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948, died November 16, 2007. She is survived by daughters, Nancy Lee Kerr of Peralta, Suzanne Marie White and Kathleen Grace Crawford and her husband, Mike, of Albuquerque; two grandsons, Jon-Michael Kerr of Surprise, AZ and Travis David Kerr of Peralta; one brother, Charles Merton "Chuck" Stentiford of Brookville, Long Island, NY; cousin, Carol McGough and her husband, Tom, of Greensboro, NC; nephews, Don Daut and his wife, Jan, and Dave Daut and his wife, Bitsy and their families; nieces, Heather Pollinger and her husband, Richard and Debbie Pancer and her husband, Jeff and their families. Joan was preceded in death by her loving husband, Francis X. "Frank" Daut; parents, Charles and Grace Stentiford; sister-in-law, Ina Stentiford; brother-in law, Jack Daut and his wife, Beverly; and niece, Linda Funnell. Joan was also preceded in death by her best friend of almost 60 years, Dorie Keeports. Joan was born in Freeport, Long Island, NY, on July 6, 1929 and attended grammar school and Hempstead High School in Hempstead, NY. She graduated in June 1946. She married Frank on September 6, 1948 and they moved to Albuquerque. Joan was an original member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, fishing, gardening, and designing flower arrangements. In the 1960s, Joan was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority, Gamma Rho Chapter. In March 1961, Joan was crowned ESA Sweetheart. She was a member of Uptown Garden Club from 1963 until her death. She was a nationally accredited flower show Master Judge. She held several offices in Garden Council. She was District I Director in 1985/1986. She was a chairwoman of the New Mexico State Fair flower shows. Joan was a volunteer at St. Joseph's Hospital from 1965 until the 1990s. She was an avid Lobo and Denver Broncos fan. She loved watching NASCAR's Jeff Gordon. She especially enjoyed car trips with Frank--they visited 49 states, Canada and Mexico. Joan's family and friends were the most important part of her life and she so loved and enjoyed being with them. Visitation will be held at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, on Monday, November 26, 2007 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated with Monsignor Frances X. DURAN -- Robert A. Duran was born January 10, 1925 in Tularosa, New Mexico. He passed away Monday, November 19, 2007 at his residence in Albuquerque. Robert honorably served his country in the US Army. He proudly served in the Philippine Islands during WWII. Robert will be remembered as being a trooper to the end and always making friends everywhere he went. He was an avid sports fan and especially loved baseball. Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Teddy Duran. He is survived by his two daughters, Chris Parra and Al Montoya, Crystal Sanchez and Rudy Rodriguez; one son, Robert "Bobby" Duran and wife Maria; one brother, Ernest Duran and wife Elena; two sisters, Josephine Garcia and husband Joe, Mona Greenlee and husband Leon; three grandchildren, Raquel, Jeremy and Nicole; four great grandchildren, Josephine, Damian, Isabel and Max; special friend, Reyes Gurule; other family members and many friends who loved and will miss him. FRIEDMAN -- Esther Friedman age, 90 passed away in Albuquerque on November 21, 2007. She was born to Jacob and Jenny Morgenstern in Cleveland, OH. Esther loved poetry and nature, and published a book of poetry at 88 years of age. She was very devoted to her family and was a full time wife and mother. Esther loved to cook and loved to watch birds out of her window. Esther is survived by her daughters, Sherelynn Lehman, Shelly Friedman, Marsha Friedman and Bonnie Sanchez and husband, Robert; eight grandchildren, Jonathan Lehman, Michael Falcon, Veronica Sanchez, Lia Sanchez, Anita Sanchez, Joaquin Sanchez, Miguel Sanchez and Armando Sanchez and one great-grandson, Caleb Lehman. HUNTER -- Reverend Ray Hunter passed away on November 16, 2007 at Presbyterian Kaseman Hospice. Rev. Hunter was a longtime resident of Albuquerque. He served five years in the United States Air Force. He was a faithful member of New Hope Full Gospel Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop David C. Cooper. He was called to the ministry while at New Hope. In 2004, he was called to pastor the Harvest Heavenly Church here in the city. He was a member of the Minister's Fellowship of Albuquerque and Vicinity. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 13 years, Joe E. Hunter, of the family home; four step-children; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his brothers and sisters. KAHLES -- Frank Kahles, 100, passed away on November 20, 2007. Mr. Kahles was born in the province of Banat, then part of Austro-Hungary in 1907. He became a Romanian citizen when Banat was ceded to Romania at the end of World War I. Frank immigrated to the United States in 1923 at the age of 16. He met his wife, Anna, on a return visit to Romania in 1930, where they were married on August 28th of that year in the Roman Catholic Church in the small town of Comlosch. They both returned to the United States four months later. The Kahleses made their home in the Rogers Park area of far-north Chicago, where they lived for 72 years. Frank was employed as a flat-janitor and invested in real estate. Frank and Anna joined the St. Huberter Social Club in 1938, which helped to preserve the culture of the German-Speaking citizens of Banat. They were active in supporting members of their group who were displaced by World War II and the ensuing takeover of the region by Communist regimes. The big event of the year was the Club's Kirchweih, which was an evening of feasting and dancing culminating in teenage couples parading the strauss of rosemary and ribbons in a coming-of-age ceremony. After retirement in 1972, the Kahleses moved to Skokie, IL, where they resided until they moved to Albuquerque in 2002. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Anna; daughter, Margaret Bowers and husband, Bill, of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Laurie Thompson and husband, Rogan; great-grandsons, Derek and Aidan Thompson of Albuquerque; grandson, Michael Bowers and wife, Yu-Ling Bowers; great-granddaughter, Marina Bowers of Seattle; and numerous nephews and nieces living in Germany and Romania. PIER -- JUDITH C. Dr. Judith Claire Pier, Ph.D., passed on Sunday, November 18, 2007 in Albuquerque, New Mexico at age 68. Born in Fort Worth, TX, to Charles M. and Mary Eleanor Pier, Judy was an inspired educator who touched the lives of thousands. She received her Ph.D. in Speech Communication from University of Denver (1982), her M.A. from Western Michigan University (1977), and her B.A. from Texas Christian University (1961). In retirement Judy moved to Albuquerque - where she consulted for AOL - to walk and swim, gaze at the sky and mountains, and bask in the dry climate and sunshine. She was a member of numerous civil liberties and human rights organizations and served as an elections judge in recent polls. She is survived by father. Charles M. Pier and sister. Lauren Pier of Fort Worth; four daughters: Sara Winsett, Lynne Winsett, Kate Tomlinson and husband. Kelly, and Mary Escobar and husband. PINT -- RAYMOND LAURENCE PINT, A longtime resident of Santa Fe passed away at home the evening of November 20th. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Theresa H. Pint. Raymond served in the Army during World War II and received an honorable discharge. He is survived by daughters, Patricia Tode and Bonnie Woodbeck; grandchildren, Adam Woodbeck (Amandalyn) and Justin Woodbeck (fiance, Julie Arnold); great-grandchildren, Benjamin Adam and Lilianna Avery Woodbeck; brothers, William Pint Jr. (Verna) and Robert Pint (Norma); faithful caregiver, Alonzo Baca; and loving puppy, Terry. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to longtime friends and the employees of Professional Home Health Care and Amber Care Hospice who helped provide love and care for Raymond over the last several years. REYNOLDS -- Ned Andrew Reynolds, 71, passed away on November 19, 2007. He was born and raised in Sanford, CO, and served in the US Navy onboard the USS Polk. Upon his discharge in 1959 Ned settled in Albuquerque working for Mountain Bell Phone Co. and AT&T until his retirement in 1990. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carol; two daughters, Debbie Brennan and husband, Kenneth of Kenosha WI, and Brenda Bragg and husband, Douglas, of Estancia, NM; grandchildren, Amanda, Gabrielle, and JD Andrew; brothers, Harold Reynolds and his wife, Roberta of Albuquerque, and Fred Reynolds, and his wife, Wrennee of Santa Fe; and many nieces and nephews. Parents, Ted and Mable Reynolds and sister, Mary Lou Crowther preceded him in passing. Ned enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling. Some of the highlights of his travels were driving the Alaskan Hwy twice, rescuing a sea turtle off the Florida Coast, and seeing much of the US. There was always a few jokes and time to share. He loved and enjoyed his family and friends and his wish was always that we would be truly happy in our lives. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2007 with a Memorial Service immediately following at 5:00 p.m. at French Mortuary Westside Chapel officiated by Chaplain Lemuel Boyles. Cremation will follow. The family will host a reception in the French Mortuary reception center. ROMERO -- ADOLPH ROMERO, age 85, passed away in Pojoaque on November 21, 2007 after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa L. Romero. He was born in Santa Fe on September 7, 1922 to Ramona and Adolfo Romero. He married Teresa Lacassagne on February 13, 1945. He was a Fire Fighter for Los Alamos as well as a Tech for Los Alamos National Laboratory. He was a member of the VFW in Santa Fe and LULAC. He is survived by his son, Eugene R. Romero of Albuquerque; daughters, Sylvia Romero of Santa Fe, Irene E. Lopez and husband, Benjamin of Espanola, Evelyn Valdez and husband, Johnny of Farmington; son, Steve Romero of Albuquerque; daughters, Annette T. Romero and Jeanette R. Urbina both of Espanola; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters: Toni Chapman, Della Barbaro, and Flora Muniz all of Santa Fe. SIMPSON -- Tommy M. Simpson, age 63, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away at his home after a courageous battle with cancer, on Friday, November 16, 2007. He loved ranching, music, fishing and hunting, but his true love was his family. Tommy was a loyal and dedicated employee at Sandia Laboratories where he retired after 42 years of dedicated service in December, 2006. He was a man of integrity and fairness. Tommy was loved and respected by everyone fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed, especially by his family. We all love you so much sweetheart and our only solace is knowing you are whole again. Keep a watchful eye over us until we see you again in the kingdom. You are forever in our hearts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Thelma Simpson; sister, Lucille Qualls; and most recently his brother, James Simpson. SNOW -- MARGERY A Memorial Service for Margery Snow will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 23, 2007 at First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Sam Lanham officiating. Interment will follow in the First Presbyterian Columbarium after the service. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are by West Funeral Home. Margery Mathews Day Snow passed away on the morning of Sunday, November 18, 2007. She was 80 years old. She was born in Westfield, NJ, on October 23, 1927. She graduated from high school in Allentown, Pennsylvania and earned a bachelor's degree from Elmira College in New York. In 1949, she married Robert Walton Snow. They moved to Carlsbad in 1962. Margery was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and sang in the choir. She participated in swimming events with the Senior Olympics and was a regular at both San Jose and Mesa Senior Centers. She was a member of the AAUW and volunteered with the hospital auxiliary. She enjoyed all kinds of music and was a regular at Carlsbad Community Concerts. She was in a play at the Community Theatre. Painting was a life-long hobby. She recently took up quilting. While her children were growing up, she was a den mother and had been to training at Philmont Boy Scout Ranch. Later, she was a leader of a group of Camp Fire Girls. Just after her marriage, Margery worked in the Chicago loop for the telephone company. Her family moved to Cincinnati, OH and to Lexington, KY before settling in Carlsbad in 1962. She also lived in Albuquerque where she was active with the La Mesa Presbyterian Church from 1985 to 1999. Margery was preceded in death by her parents, Howard Bloodgood Day, Sr., and Martha Lawton Mathews Day; and her brother, Howard Bloodgood Day, Jr. Margery is survived by three children, William Frank (Bill) Snow of Albuquerque, Bruce Snow and wife, Cathleen Hanson Snow of Collierville, TN, and Nancy Dugger and husband, Charles Dugger of Carlsbad. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Emily Snow Bylund and husband, Kevin of Coralville, Iowa, Isaac William Snow and wife, Rebecca Anderson Snow of Newark, CA, Jonathan Robert Snow and wife, Whitney Carlson Snow, Matthew Walton Snow, and Sarah Gwynn Snow, all of Provo, UT, Teresa Marie Snow of Collierville, TN, Erin Snow Hicks and husband, Kyle of Greeley, CO, Victoria Dugger Cirbo and husband, Justin of Parker, CO, and Charles Edmond Dugger Jr. (Chip) of Carlsbad, NM. She is also survived by two great-granddaughters: Grace Abigail Bylund and Bryce Haley Hicks. THOMPSON -- Cecil Lynn Thompson Sr., 84, a resident of Los Chavez, NM, passed away on November 13, 2007. Mr. Thompson was born on July 19, 1923 to Vassar L. and Jewell (Watkins) Thompson of Capitan, NM. He attended the University of New Mexico for two years before entering the U.S. Navy. He served our country in the Navy for over four years. Mr. Thompson was a Heavy Equipment Specialist for Region 3 of the U.S. Forest Service. He retired from the U.S. Forest Service after thirty-six years of service. In his free time he enjoyed hunting and raising horses, cattle, dogs, and grandkids. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Dorothy R. (Powell) Thompson of the family home; daughters, Linda McQuillen and husband, Terry, of Shiloh, OH, Deborah Brown and husband, Bill, of Albuquerque, NM; and son, Cecil Lynn Thompson, Jr. and wife, Lisa, of Los Chavez, NM; 13 grandchildren; Susan Smith, John Thew, Jared Thew, Beau Gantt, Monique Torres, Joshua Brown, Levi Thompson, Eli Thompson, Kalin Thompson, Danny Vaughn, Decqua Vaughn, Samantha Vaughn, and Richard Vaughn; 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. TRUJILLO -- Frank B. Trujillo went home to be with the Lord on November 17, 2007 at the age of 83. He was born on January 29, 1924 to Manuel and Carlota Trujillo. Frank was an usher at San Jose Catholic Church and retired from Albuquerque Public Schools. He also enjoyed Spanish music and playing the guitar. Frank loved his family and his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Feloniz Trujillo. He is survived by his children Manuel Trujillo and wife Mary, Yolanda Aragon and husband Richard and Cisco Trujillo and wife Estefanita. He is also survived by his grandchildren Ginger Aragon, Francisco Trujillo and wife Estefanita, Yvonne Louissena and husband Martin and Joseph Trujillo and wife Nadine, along with his great-grandchildren Julia, Jamie, Francisco Jr., Esperanza, Alicia, Martin, Charley and Isaiah.
