GUSTAFSON -- Louise Roos Gustafson, age 83, born in Paton, IA, died September 4, 2007 at home in Rio Rancho after years of protracted illness. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James M. Gustafson; four children, Karl and wife, Katherine of Somerville MA, Greta Roskom and, husband Michael of Rio Rancho, John R. Gustafson and beloved Radha Denmark of Albuquerque, and Birgitta Gustafson of Colorado Springs; by six grandchildren, Amber West of Albuquerque, Erik Gustafson of Rome, Italy, Mark Gustafson of Toronto, Ontario, Aliya and Laila Mehdi of Colorado Springs, and Kipp Roskom of Rio Rancho; and a brother, C. Theodore Roos of Chicago. HERRERA -- Ann Herrera, age 57, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2007 with her loving family at her bedside. She was a loving Mother, Nana and Aunt. She will be greatly missed by her family. Per her request, cremation has taken place. Services for Ann and her father, Perfecto will be held together at Holy Family Church. On Monday, September 24, 2007, a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, September 25, 2007, a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Private Interment for Ann will be held at a later date. HERRERA -- Perfecto Herrera, age 86, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his bedside on Sunday, September 16, 2007. He is survived by a son, George Herrera; daughter, Shawntel Herrera; daughter-in-law, Regina Herrera; granddaughters, Suzanne Herrera and husband, Ralphie Martinez, Julie Glass and husband, Don, JoNell Sanchez and husband, William Duran and JeNee' Chinn and husband, Brian; great-grandchildren, Sammy, Jeremy, Jaselynn, Julianna, Jacob, Victoria, Isabella and Mateo. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ann Herrera on Monday, September 3, 2007 and his wife, Cecelia Herrera in 1996. He was the last living of his nine brothers and five sisters. Perfecto was a loving, kind-hearted man. He will be greatly missed by his family. Services for Perfecto and his daughter, Ann will be held together at Holy Family Church on Monday, September 24, 2007 beginning with a viewing at 6:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. A final visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at 8:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass being celebrated a 9:00 a.m. Interment for Perfecto will follow at Mt. LOPEZ -- Richard Lopez Jr., 57, of Manzano, died Friday, September 21, 2007. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Corrine Lopez; three sons and one daughter, Victor Lopez, Tony Lopez and wife, Desirae, Consulo and husband, Oscar Arroyo, and Christopher Lopez; five grandchildren, Salomon, Oscar Jr., Mariah, Antonio, and Aliyah; his mother, Trinidad Lopez; five sisters, Thelma and husband, Stephen, Martha and husband, Ernest, Delphine, Marty, Viola and husband, James, and Jamie Lopez; eight brothers, Nick and wife, Virginia, Edward and wife, Gloria, Max and wife, Sandra, David and wife, Carla, Larry, Ben, Micheal and wife, Heather, and Orlando and wife, Sandra; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. A viewing is being held Sunday, September 23, 2007 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrow Catholic Church in Manzano, NM with the Rosary following at 7 p.m. The Mass will take place the following day at 10 a.m. also at Our Lady of Sorrow in Manzano. LUCERO -- JULIAN Mr. Julian Lucero, 78, a former resident of Santa Fe and Alameda, New Mexico for 45 years and was a resident of Moriarty, NM, passed away on September 20, 2007, with his loving family at his side. Mr. Lucero is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-seven years, Veronica; five children, Katie (Catherine) Powers and husband, Ed, Orlando Lucero Sr., JoAnn Garcia and husband, Johnnie, JoAnn Lopez and husband, Ray and a special friend who is considered a daughter, Laree Perez; four brothers, Meraldo Lucero and wife, Lucy, Isidro Lucero and wife, Pat, Bobby Lucero and wife, Pauline, and Clyde Lucero and wife, Margo; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Lucero was a member of the Catholic Church and Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Post 69 and was employed by Goodrich Roofing for many years. Visitation will be Sunday, September 23, 2007 from 3:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 4th NW, with a Rosary to be recited at 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Monday at 9:00 a.m. the Church, Father Juan Mendez, presider. MAESE -- Peggy Ann Maese, 61, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on September 19, 2007. Mrs. Maese was born on June 8, 1946 to John Henry and Ella (Vickers) Gordon of Fayetteville, TN. Shortly after her birth, the family moved to Huntsville, AL. She married Professor Manuel I. Maese on January 8, 1982 in Albuquerque. Mr. Maese calls Peggy the "Love of his life and his inspiration." She attended Park College in Albuquerque. She loved pictures and scrapbooking, writing poetry, and making wonderful dinners for her family. She will be deeply missed. Mrs. Maese is survived by her husband, Manuel, of the family home in Albuquerque; four children, Jon Byrd and his wife, Ruby, of Germany, Jimmy Oates and his wife, Amy, of Mobile, AL, Yancy Ray Oates of Florida, and Robert Lee Oates of Daphne, AL; four step-children, Paul H. Maese and his companion, Linda, of Huntsville, AL, Nancy Morales and her husband, Eric, of Riverview, FL, Perry P. Maese and his wife, Ruby, of Espanola, NM, and Michael J. Maese of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Hollyanne Byrd, Haley Blythe and Jared Oates, Erika and Mary Morales, Todd James and Robin Leah Maese; siblings, Mildred Worley, Martha Worley, Sara Elizabeth Hollingsworth, Caroline, Jean, and Allen. Mrs. Maese was preceded in death by her grandson, Ian Bennett; her parents; her in-laws, Tiburcio and Mary Maese; and siblings, Dilworth Gordon, Dwight David Eisenhower Gordon, and Faye Bennett. Charles Wayne Gordon, Mrs. Maese' brother, joined her in heaven on Wednesday, September 19, 2007. MAESTAS -- Phil V. Maestas entered into rest September 19, 2007 at the age of 87. A resident of La Jara, NM for 37 years. He retired from the Jemez Mountain School District where he was maintenance supervisor for 15 years. He is survived by his wife Shirley; two daughters, Frances Vasquez and Annie Rodarte, both from Los Angeles, CA; son, Leon Maestas of Arizona; grandchildren, Lawrence Rodarte, Daniel Vasquez Jr., Steven Vasquez and Michelle Salcido; great-grandchildren, Justen Vasquez, Laurene Vasquez, Michael Rodarte and Alejandra Salcido; sisters, Agnes Narvaiz, Dora Rivera, Lucy Najera and Beatriz Supnet, all of San Jose, CA. Rosary will be held Sunday, September 23, 2007 at 7:00 p.m Immaculate Conception Church, Cuba, NM. A Mass will be held on Monday, September 24, 2007 at noon at the same church.

MARTINEZ -- Patricia Martinez, 72, passed away on September 19, 2007 after a long illness. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Ernest; two sons, Glenn Baum and wife, Phyllis of Jacksonville, FL and Michael Baum of Everett, WA; two daughters, Cheryl Baum of Mesa, AZ and Sandra Kinkel and husband, Terry of Sedalia, CO; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lawrence of California and Gordon of Nevada; and stepdaughters, Stephanie Martinez of Everett, WA and Yvonne and husband, Earl Drake of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by a son, Terry Baum. Patt retired from the Albuquerque Police Department as a Sergeant in 1977. Patt was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Police, as well as The New Mexico Sheriff and Police Association. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 23, 2007 at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 7601 Wyoming NE.
