APODACA -- Monserrat "Charro" Apodaca, 56 died on Tuesday. Beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years: Christina Chavez-Apodaca, loving daughters: Maria Raquel, Veronica Diana, and Vanessa Erica; brothers: Jose, Rodrigo, Juan, Gustavo, Edmundo, Ramon, Jesus; sisters: Berta, Luz Maria, Guadalupe, Juana,and Maria Elsa. His love extended to over 50 nieces and nephews but especially to Victor, Francisco, Jesus, Beto, Marcos, EJ, Patricia and Anayeli, April, Alicia. He was a self-employed masonry contractor and a member of the movie union industry, local 480. His hands were hard as steel for his job but yet tender and caring for his family. A viewing will be held on Friday from 5-7 p.m. in the Reflection of Life Chapel (Washington and Cutler NE) followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Life Celebration Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (4th and Stover SW) on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Graveside Service at Sunset Memorial Park. BLACK -- Jennie J. Black, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1963 died Friday, August 3, 2007. She leaves behind to honor and celebrate her life her three daughters, Lois Hughes and husband, Robert of Albuquerque, Marilynn Burke and husband, Henry, of Omaha, NE and Karen Fisher of Albuquerque; six grandchildren, Robyn, Heather, Brian, Meredith, David and Daniel; eight great-grandchildren, Zachary, Joshua, Levi, Wyatt, Katie, Wade, Lane, and Sarabeth; and one brother, Stanley Kanz of WI. Jennie was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Earl Black; her parents, Ida and John Kanz; and brother, Alden Kanz. She was born on June 23, 1922 in Shawano, WI. Jennie was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She served as a volunteer for the Sun City Sheriff's Posse for 12 years. Jennie was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place on Friday, August 10, 2007, 2:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3715 Silver, SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108. BOLL -- Kenneth H. Boll Sr., 79, passed away August 6, 2007. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma K. Boll and sister, Arlene Wulf. He is survived by his loving son, Kenneth Boll Jr. and wife, Teri; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Kenneth had a distinguished career in the U.S. Army and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was a highly honored Veteran of both World War II and The Korean War. Kenneth's retired years were spent gardening, landscaping, and enjoying the company of his neighbors. A Graveside Service will be held Friday, August 10, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ft. CEBADA -- Odilia (Lela) D. Cebada, 95, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, went home to be with our Lord on Monday, August 6, 2007 surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her children, Ella Bustamante and husband, Henry, Cilvia Silcox and husband, Robin, Dan Cebada, and Pauline Rael and husband, Fred, all of Albuquerque; 28 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Demetrio Cebada; her daughters, Ethel Barnhart and Esther "Sefie" Cebada; her grandson, Stephen Maldonado; and great-grandson, CJ Sanchez. Odilia spent 30 years working as a nurse and 45 years serving the Lord as a minister. She had many hobbies which include crafting, crocheting, beading and quilting. Her greatest accomplishment was inspiring others where she founded La Fe Unida out of her home, which now has branched out to other surrounding areas in New Mexico. A celebration of her life will be on Saturday August 11, 2007, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary Lomas Chapel. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. CORDOVA -- Pablita G. Cordova, age 80, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, of Cuba, NM passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2007, while surrounded by her loving family. Pablita was born in La Jara, NM on April 26, 1927. She was preceded in death by her son, Samuel Cordova; two grandsons, Ernest E. Cordova, and David Allen Hoehne Jr.; three sons-in-law, David Casaus, Lloyd Valdez and David Hoehne. Pablita is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Emilio S. Cordova; ten children, Ernest, Orlando, David, Fabian, Pat, Angela, Sally, Howard, Theresa, and Paula; 28 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; numerous other family members and friends. Pablita will be greatly missed by her loving family. Visitations will be held Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Cuba Presbyterian Church, followed by an Evening Service. FERRERI -- Estella Mazzochi Ferreri, 96, a resident of Albuquerque since 1945, passed away. She is survived by her five children, J. Ronald Ferreri and wife, Donna of Georgetown, TX, Jacqueline Berube of Albuquerque, Richard E. Ferreri and wife, Linda of Woodstock, MD, John P. Ferreri and fiancee, Susan Ohira-Smith of Pleasanton, CA, and Michael A. Ferreri and wife, Barbara, of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Stephen Ferreri, Candyce Ferreri Roybal, Craig Berube, Wayne Berube, Kelli Carcasole, Richard A. Ferreri, Michelle Bare, Anthony Ferreri, Gregory Ferreri, Kristi Crabtree, and Keith Ferreri; and 19 great-grandchildren. Estella was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years, Domonic Ferreri; and two children, Anne Marie Ferreri and Joseph Ferreri. She was born in Youngstown, OH on December 10, 1910. Estella was a wonderful Italian cook and homemaker and loved to play bridge and sew. She was a member of the Italian Cultural Club, Sigma Chi Mothers, and a long time member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir. Estella was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. The family would like to say a "special thank you" to all the love and care given to Estella by the staff at LaVida LLena and Amber Care Hospice. GOMEZ -- Orlando J. Gomez (Sonny-OJ) went home to be with the Lord on August 8, 2007, at the age of 74. He was born on October 20, 1932 in Albuquerque, to Eugene and Eulalia Gomez. Orlando was preceded in death by his parents; his two brothers, Charlie and Benny; and by his daughter, Dolores Bustamante. Orlando is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nora Gomez; his children, Lorraine Garcia and husband, David, Ernest P. Gomez and wife, Theresa, Gloria J. Chavez and husband, Jimmy of Tijeras, NM, Carmen Facio and husband, Vincent of Rio Rancho, NM, and Estella Martinez and her significant other, Frank; his siblings, Barbara Martinez, Gilbert Gomez and wife, Lucy, Alex Gomez and wife, Millie, Dorothy Carriaga and husband, Levi, Larry Gomez, Richard Gomez, and Eugene Gomez Jr. and wife Roxanne, along with 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. GURULE -- Raymond Gurule, 53 a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on August 7, 2007, and is now in Heaven with our Lord. KENNEDY -- Jerry Dean Kennedy died Monday at the age of 73 after a short illness. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lynn W. Kennedy; his daughter, Kimberley D. Kennedy; his son, Michael R. Kennedy and wife, Wendy R. Kennedy; a granddaughter, Siera Lynn Sporleder; and a great-grandson, Jay Anthony Baca, all of Albuquerque, and a sister, Martha Jane Goodenough, of Tyler, TX. Dr. Kennedy was born in Oklahoma City, OK, on June 23, 1934, to Roy and Mildred Kennedy. He was educated at the University of Oklahoma, the University of California, and Lehigh University. He earned his doctor's degree in physics at Lehigh in 1963, and moved with his family to Albuquerque, where he spent his entire career working at Sandia Laboratories. His work was primarily in the fields of Full-Scale Testing and Safeguards. He retired in 1992, and he and his wife moved in 1995 to St. Eustatius, a small Caribbean island, where they lived until ill health forced his return to Albuquerque. His hobbies in recent years included woodworking and digital photography. MASCARENAS -- Flor de Maria Mascarenas, age 70, a resident of Albuquerque since 1999, passed away from lung and brain cancer on Wednesday, August 8, 2007. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Arthur, who was born and raised in New Mexico; children, David and wife, Lesli, Dolores (Dolly), and Daniel from Southern California; grandchildren, Devon and wife, Sasha (who are expecting Flor's first great-grandchild), Dylan, and Breanna of Southern California. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Dolores and Isabel Mora; her brother, Felix Mora; and her nephews, Joseph and Benjamin Mora. She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Raymond and wife, Jandy Mora of Puerto Rico, Fini Widman of New Jersey, Gail and husband, Ed Cyzewski of Florida, Benjamin Mora of Puerto Rico, Daniel and wife, Maria Mora of Florida, Serafin Mora of Florida, Lydia and husband, John Callaghan of Florida, Rose Nieves of Pennsylvania; her twin, Dorcas Carrasquillo of Florida; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was born in Puerto Rico where she lived until 13 years of age; she then moved to Philadelphia, PA and remained there until age 26; she then moved to Southern California where she met her husband. They remained in California and raised their family until she retired from Los Angeles County as a Financial Control Supervisor in 1999 and moved to Albuquerque where she and her husband lived out the rest of her days. MEREDITH -- Dennis Edwin Meredith, 58, of Albuquerque, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 7, 2007. Dennis is survived by his wife of 29 years, Isabel; daughter, Lori Diane; sons, Peter William of San Diego, Christopher Ashley and Craig Jeffery Young; daughters-in-law, Tammy Young, Amber Young and Ramona Baker, all of Riverside, CA. He was preceded in death by his father, William and stepmother, Robye. Dennis was beloved "Papa" to Savannah Rene Warner, Ashley Suzanne Young, Caitlin Marie Cannon, Melissa Elena and Tiffany Maria Meredith, RJ and Chase Dakota Young. He is also survived by his mother and father-in-law, Emma and Albert Silva Sr. of Albuquerque; mother, Anna Mae Moore; sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Valente Estrada, Evelyn and Frank Barela, Celena and Tony Morris and Albert Silva Jr; sister, Beverly Elaine Blevins and a brother, Bobby Don Meredith, all of Claremore, Ok. He will be missed by aunts, uncles and cousins. He was cherished by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Dennis was born August 30, 1948 in Charleston, AR. He served his country with honor in the Marine Corps, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines. He was awarded a Purple Heart for wounds received in combat at Khe Sahn, Republic of Vietnam on April 30, 1967 for which his unit was recognized with a Presidential Unit Citation. In addition, he earned a Vietnam Service Medal with Two Stars, a Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Cross for gallantry. Dennis was a police officer with the city of El Centro Police Department for 15 years. He worked patrol, detective's and was a member of a multi agency drug enforcement task force before retiring in 1986. After moving to Albuquerque in 1987, Dennis worked as a warehouseman for the Albuquerque Book Depository. He also worked for the American Softball Association as an umpire. Dennis knew he was truly loved and very blessed. He loved his family, the Marine Corps, his fellow 3/3 buddies, baseball and red chili. His loss is overwhelming. METCALF -- Daniel William Metcalf Sr., 80, passed away on August 2, 2007, after a long illness. Daniel was born in Lordsburg, NM, on October 9, 1926. He returned to New Mexico and has resided there since the early 1960's. Daniel was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth L. Metcalf in 1986. He is survived by seven children, Virginia, Sharon, Daniel Jr., Thomas, Kimberly, Timothy, and Fran Garloff; numerous grandchildren and three siblings, Robert, Kenneth and Nancy. Daniel's life will be celebrated at a Memorial Service at St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Albuquerque on Friday, August 10, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. A private interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.

O'KEEFE -- John O'Keefe, 65, died Thursday, August 9, 2007. Mr. O'Keefe is survived by his son, Anders O'Keefe and wife, Erin Higgins O'Keefe of Erie, CO, and their two children, Annie and Kaden; his sister, Kathy Potter of San Jose, CA, and her two children, Christopher and Steven of Pittsburgh, PA; former wife and beloved friend, Joanna DeKeyser of Albuquerque; his devoted friends who were there for him in love and care for his last 14 months, Dick and Jill DesJardins; and the many friends he has made over the years. John was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Elzas O'Keefe, who passed away in 1991; his parents, John Vernon O'Keefe and Emmajean Cobb O'Keefe of Lone Pine, CA. John will be remembered for many wonderful qualities: His intelligence, compassion, outlandish wit, thought-provoking ideas, passion for tango, love of France and boxed Gallo, prowess as a badminton player, devotion to nature and hiking, contribution to the Albuquerque Chamber Soloists, love of Golden Trout Camp in the Sierra Nevada mountains which his family ran for 15 years, and his immense skills as an architect (for which he was named Architect of the Year by the state of Maine in 1975 and 1977). REPP -- Josephine Repp, 75, a longtime resident of Edgewood, NM, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 5, 2007. She is survived by her children, Jack Snyder and Barbara Woodbeck of Edgewood, Donald Freeman of Moriarty, Kathryn Freeman of Marshall, CA, Jon Repp of Mesa, AZ, Terry Repp and Roger Repp of Flagstaff, AZ; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sister, Kathryn Young of Los Alamitos, CA. A private memorial service will be held at a later date in the mountains of her beloved Northern Arizona. SANCHEZ -- Alice Sanchez passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family and friends on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 in Albuquerque at the age of 97. Visitation for Mrs. Sanchez will be held on Friday, August 10, 2007 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2007 also at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. SPORLEDER -- Mary Elizabeth Sporleder (Betty) was the only child born to Eugene and Marguerite Hunter Jan 17, 1922 in Fort Morgan, CO. She attended Colorado Women's College, was an accomplished pianist, devout member of St. Mark on the Mesa Episcopal Church, and member of P.E.O. She spent her life devoted to children and was co-founder of St. Marks in the Valley Preschool. Married twice, Betty was preceded in death by her son, John Graves. Survivors are daughter, Jeane Graves and partner, Kerry Dalen; and her grandchildren, Javon Swanson and Ivon Graves; and her close cousin, Ruth Roberts. Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2007 at St. Marks on the Mesa Episcopal Church, 431 Richmond NE. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Marks in the Valley Preschool.
