BROWN -- Constance Brown, 94, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Friday, July 27, 2007. Constance was born in Maxwell, NM on April 27, 1913 to Richard Roy Biebel and Nora Tilghman Biebel (West). She worked at the State Hospital in Las Vegas, NM as a secretary when she met and married Robert Brown in l940. After they were married, Connie kept the books for Brown's Dairy while caring for her husband and their two daughters, Barbara Lee and Betty Ann. After her daughters married she took a job as the secretary to the President of NM Highlands University in Las Vegas, NM. When her husband retired from Brown's Dairy they moved to Albuquerque and lived there for several years. They later moved back to Las Vegas for a few years, and then moved to Citrus Heights, CA in 1995, eventually returning to Albuquerque in l999. Connie was an avid gardener and loved flowers. Everywhere she lived she always maintained a beautiful and bountiful gardens. After her husband's death she lived at Las Colinas Village Senior Center in Albuquerque, where she volunteered to take care of the gardens and work in the library. In 2003 she moved to her daughter's home where she lived the last four years of her life amongst family. She was a member of the Rebeccas and a member of the Bible Church in Las Vegas. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother; and daughter, Betty Ann Gallegos. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Lee Simpier; her son-in-law Onofre Gallegos; five grandchildren, Mark and Todd Rogers, Erik, Marilyn and Stephen Gallegos; and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Edward Brown and wife, Mary Catherine; her sister-in-law, Ruth Roseberry and husband, James; nieces, Judy Simmons and husband, Randy, Janet Chandler and husband, Don, Karen Wiese and husband, Alex, Kathy Hernandez and husband, Frank; and nephew, Jim Roseberry and wife, Carleen; as well as many great nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be conducted on Friday, August 3, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at the Masonic Cemetery in Las Vegas, NM. The family wishes to thank all the many friends and neighbors who have offered love and support through the years. CHAVEZ -- Gloria Mae Chavez, our BELOVED sister, sister-in-law, Auntie, GREAT aunt, and GREAT, GREAT aunt passed away suddenly on Monday, July 30, 2007. She had just celebrated her 66th birthday on July 12th. Gloria was born in Albuquerque and lived with her sister, Margaret Garcia and brother-in-law, Arthur Garcia. She is also survived by three nephews, Andy Garcia and his wife, Joann, Vincent Garcia and his wife, Anna, and Richard Garcia; one niece, Elsa De Jong and her husband, Tony; one great-nephew; eight nieces; two great-great-nephews; and two great-great-nieces. DOUGLASS -- Joann C. Douglass, 57, a resident of Albuquerque for 41 years, died Monday, July 30, 2007. She was born in Denver, CO on September 30, 1949. Joann married Ron Douglass in 1966 on Valentines Day. GONZALES -- Eutimio "Tim" Gonzales Jr. went home to be with the Lord on July 30, 2007 at the age of 64. He was born in Grants, NM to Eutimio Sr. and Socorro Gonzales on October 27, 1942. He was a retired Battalion Chief from the Albuquerque Fire Department, and an Artist. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Phyllis Gonzales; his mother, Socorro Gonzales; his three children, Stephanie Gonzales and husband, Leonard Sedillo, Christine Vigil and husband, Gilbert Vigil, Lenny Gonzales and wife, Victoria Gonzales; his four grandchildren, Michael Sedillo, Andrew Sedillo, Jeremy Sedillo, and Konner Vigil; along with his brother, Steve Gonzales and wife, Dorella; and also by his niece, Jessica and his nephew, Vicenete. He was a beloved Husband, Father, Best Friend and a Hero in his passing. Even in death he was still able to help others by being an organ donor. He will be missed by all. MALDONADO -- Stephen E. Maldonado, age 34, passed away Monday, July 31, 2007. Stephen was a talented musician. His passion was music and he loved to make people dance. MANCUSO -- Sam T. Mancuso, a longtime Albuquerque resident, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2007. He was a loving spouse, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian; his parents, Santo and Caroline; and two brothers, Mike and Albert. He was born on December 7, 1924 in Hazelton, PA, the second oldest of seven children. Childhood days were spent in Hazelton. He joined the army during WWII, then graduated from ENMU with a BA degree, and was employed by Sandia Laboratories as an accountant until his retirement in 1985. Golf, family and friends were the joys of his life. Sam is survived by his daughters, Carolyn and husband, George, of Clovis, NM, Beverly and husband, Pete, of Plano, TX, Becky and husband, Mark, of Patterson, CA; eight grandchildren, Terri, Michelle B., Sandra, Monica, Renee, Michele S., Mike, Dawn; eleven great-grandchildren, Jesse, Taylor, Hayley, Heather, Marshal, Paige, Connor, Trevor, Tanner, Charlie, and Mattie; four brothers, Frank, Carlo, Alfred, Joe; and a host of other relatives. MULLINS -- Joseph S. Mullins July 28, 2007 Joseph S. Mullins, 61, of Red Creek, NY, died Saturday at home. Born in Athens, OH, he was a two year resident of Red Creek and had previously lived in Neptune, NJ. Joe was employed as a freight handler at Home Depot in Clay, NY. He was an Army veteran serving from 1964 to 1988 in Vietnam, Korea and Germany. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Clyde and Dolores Mullins. Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Sandra Mullins of Red Creek; children, Steven Mullins of Albuquerque, NM, Erin Mullins of Hillsborough, NJ and Clyde Mullins of Red Creek; grandchildren, Nicholas, Ayngela and Courtney. OSWALD -- Gene W. Oswald, age 80, passed away on July 30, 2007. He is survived by his brother, Rollin Oswald; his children, Timothy Gene Oswald, Wendy Magnone, Sandra Jones, Karen Jennings; and seven grandchildren. Gene served in the Navy during World War II. He moved to Albuquerque in 1952 where he worked as a talented graphic artist of the advertising business. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him. PLATTE -- Richard "Dick" Platte, 85, a resident of Albuquerque for over fifty years, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2007 at Montebello on Academy. Mr. Platte was born on May 23, 1922 to Frederick C. and Margaret (Agnew) Platte of Lake Village, Arkansas. He served in the U.S. Army as a Master Sergeant. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Drake University. Mr. Platte was the Chief Financial Officer for J.W. Jones Construction Company for over 35 years. He was an avid golfer and held memberships at both Four Hills Country Club and Albuquerque Country Club. Mr. Platte is predeceased by his wife, Jeanne, in 1990, and his parents. He is survived by his son, Tom, and his wife, Karen, of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Ryan Platte, and Lori, Shawna and Katie Bates; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ricky and Joie Stevens. REAVES -- JAMES E. REAVES 1915 - 2007 James E. Reaves, 92, passed into eternal life on July 31, 2007. His passing is mourned by his wife of 72 years, Muriel "Mims" Reaves; his son, Ralph Reaves and his wife, Jeanette, and their children, Debby, Mark, Greg and Eric; his daughter, Ann Brown and her husband, Terry, and their children, James and Matthew; and his son, Jeff Reaves and his wife, Annette, and their children, Melinda, Jennifer, Eric, Brian and Adam; as well as his "adopted children" - son, Dave and his wife, Kathi, and their children, Turner, Jodi, and Regina, daughter, Marie, and son, Roy and his wife, Becky, and their children, Patte, Dee Dee, Katie, Janie and Jessica. We all mourn his passing from us but we celebrate his life and his passing on into God's loving care. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather and gave his love and guidance to all he encountered. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 50 years. He served his country as a Chief Petty Officer in the Navy's newly formed Underwater Demolition Teams (known informally as the "Frogmen" and now known officially as the Navy Seals) in the campaign for the Marshall Islands at Roi Namur and Kwajalein. In 1995 and 2005, the 50th and 60th anniversaries of that campaign, he was honored by the U.S. military in a special ceremony on Kwajalein as a representative of the fighting men who served during that operation (known as Operation Flintlock). His dog tags have become a permanent part of the stained glass mural in the chapel on Kwajalein. He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a builder and a contractor most of his life. He was a 60-year member of the United Association of Plumbers and Steam Fitters, Associated Mechanical Contractors, and the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Contractors Association. He served as Chief of Building and Grounds and Chief Mechanical Engineer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Munich, Germany; Cheyenne, Wyoming; Great Falls, Montana; Grand Forks, North Dakota; St. Louis, Missouri; Panama Canal Zone; Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; and for Raytheon Corporation in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. He also worked for several years for Sandia National Laboratory in Albuquerque. He and his wife, Mims, loved to travel and, in addition to their overseas assignments, they circumnavigated the globe twice. He was most recently a member of Sandia Baptist Church and previously with First Baptist Church of Albuquerque. Cremation and private interment have taken place. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on August 3, 1909 and has been a resident of Albuquerque since 1972. She was the oldest living member of Metropolitan Community Church of Albuquerque where she was a member since 1982. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Sr.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, Paul and George Jr.; her daughter, Dolores Stream and husband, Larry; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; many friends and a large extended church family. Services will be held at Metropolitan Community Church of Albuquerque, 1103 Texas NE, with the Rev. Judith Maynard officiating on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. There will be a viewing one hour before the Service. Interment will follow the Service at Sunset Memorial Park and there will be refreshments served at the church after the burial. SCHMIDT -- John W. Schmidt, age 81, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2007, in Albuquerque. He is survived by his two daughters, Sherrie Lacey and Judy Tuft, both of Albuquerque; four grandchildren, Phillip Saxon, Homer Mellas, April and Amber Hill. John was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Schmidt; his parents, John Schmidt and Maudie Schmelzle-Schmidt; and one son, Charles (Bill) Hill. He was born on September 22, 1925 to John Schmidt and Maudie Schmelzle-Schmidt in Denver, CO. John was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. SCHULMEISTER -- Jean Ellen Schulmeister, of Albuquerque, passed away Friday, July 27, 2007. Born in Bartlesville, OK, raised in Phillips, TX and graduated from NMSU where she met her husband, Bill. Jean Ellen worked at Manzano del Sol Good Samaritan Village for 20+ years. She taught Sunday School at First United Methodist Church for eleven years and was active in a local 4-H Club. Jean Ellen played the flute and piccolo at school in orchestra and the symphony. She was preceded in death by her son, Kevin. Jean Ellen is survived by her husband, Bill; daughter, Karen; mother, Ellen Checco; other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. TRUJILLO -- Joseph B. Trujillo was called by the Lord on July 17, 2007 while residing in Seattle, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents, Celestino and Emilia Trujillo. He is survived by sisters, Chris Candelaria and husband, Pete, Mary Lou Baca; nieces, Reina Valdez, Tina Bustos; nephew, Tom Candelaria; Gr. nephews, Chris, Mario Bustos. WILLIAMS -- Zaida Williams, 75, a longtime resident of Bernalillo, NM, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2007, with her family by her side. Mrs. Williams was born on July 21, 1932 to Victor Daniel and Mildred (Dunman) Lermuseaux in Albuquerque. She married Danny Bob Williams in 1952. She will be remembered for her love for her family, spending time with her grandchildren, arts, crafts, reading the Bible, and gardening. Her hobbies can be summed up in one word, "Work." She was always working. Mrs. Williams also enjoyed her devotion and volunteerism to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Mrs. Williams was predeceased by her husband, Danny Bob, in 1999; her father, Victor Daniel Lermuseaux; and brothers, Gene and Louie Lermuseaux. She is survived by her mother, Mildred Lermuseaux of Bernalillo, NM; children, Danny Williams and his wife, Susan, and Jeanna Griffin and her husband, Tony, all of Bernalillo, NM; grandchildren, Tammy Sloan and her husband, Chris, Travis Griffin, Shannon and Aaron Williams; step-grandchildren, Levi Valdez, Ryan Valdez and his wife, Ahna, and Sonia Gonzales; great-grandchildren, Johnny Tolleson and Hope Sloan; sister Betty Kelley and her husband, Melvin; sister-in-law, Faye Lermuseaux; and incredible friend who she called an adopted son, Roy Johnson and his wife, Cindy.
