ANAYA -- Levi A. Anaya, age 66, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2007 in Albuquerque. He was born on September 14, 1940 to Liberato and Feliz Anaya. Levi worked for Sandia National Labs from 1970 and retired in 1997, as a Mill Wright in the fabrication department. Levi was a Judo instructor for 27 years and had his own Dojo, "Judo Clubs, Inc". While teaching Judo he trained many National and World Judo Champions, he loved to ride horses, camp, hunt, and fish. Levi is survived by his wife of 46 years, Margarita Anaya; his children, Rosalie Darlene Anaya, Geralyn Gloria Lindsey and husband, Austin, and Levi Andrew Anaya and wife, Christina; six grandchildren, Felicia, Renee, and Alexander Apodaca, and Justin Lindsey, Iliana Anaya, and Mwadi Anaya-Greene; two brothers, Samuel Anaya and Joseph Anaya and wife, Eva; and numerous nieces and nephews. The Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2007, 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas NE. ARGYRES -- Pete George Argyres, born September 14, 1963, lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away May 18, 2007. Pete was known for his zest for life and those who surrounded him; he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. Pete lived life to the fullest with his dogs he called "the boys" (Black and Boz). He was preceded in death by his best friend and fishing buddy, Mike Strother. Pete leaves behind his parents, George and Katherine Argyres of Albuquerque; his brothers, Dino Argyres and his daughter, Shay Lynn of Albuquerque, Frank Argyres and wife, Vanessa and their two boys, Andrew and Georgie of Seattle, WA, and Demetres Argyres also of Albuquerque; along with numerous other relatives and friends. The Trisagion will be Monday, May 21, 2007, 7 p.m. in Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary. BARTON -- Jennie Marie Barton, 98, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Friday, May 18, 2007. Jennie is survived by her son, William R. Barton and wife, Thelma; four grandchildren, William R. Barton and wife, Lu, Gail Cooley and husband, Gerald, Deborah Davis, and Kenneth Barton and wife, Michelle; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Jennie was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Barton in 1974. There will be no memorial services at her request, knowing that her family and friends will remember her as a loyal and happy person. CAIRE -- Mercedes Caire went home to be with the Lord at the age of 78 (September 25, 1928 - May 18, 2007). Mercedes is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest and her son, David. She is survived by her children, Alice and husband, Jerry Minitrez; Ray Caire and wife, Roz; Lawrence Caire and wife, Virginia; 11 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Rey Caire II, Lawrence Caire Jr., Jacob Sedillo, Paul Minitrez, Ernest Caire, and Fidencio Cadena. Honorary pallbearer will be Luis Valadez. CARTER -- George Leonard Carter Jr. was born April 25, 1954 in Merced, CA and went home to with our Lord and Savior May 11, 2007. He was the son of George L. and Evelyn L. Carter Sr. and is survived by his son, George L. Carter III; sisters, Nora J. Carter and Stephanie A. Carter, all of Albuquerque; and brother, Michael D. Carter and wife, Carla of Fresno, CA. He was preceded in death by a sister, Glenda M. Flennoy. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends in Albuquerque as well as in Maui, HI. George was an Iron Worker here in Albuquerque and in his last residence of Hawaii until a disabling accident three years ago. He loved God, life, laughter, and was very giving. EBERHART -- Denise Ann Eberhart, 41, a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2007, after a year-long battle with cancer. FATE -- Jane Fate, passed away peacefully May 17, 2007 with her family and caregivers at her side. She is survived by her husband, Robert; her sister, Dale; her three children: Nancy, Dick, and Bob; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Jane was first and foremost, a loving mother who guided by example. An Army wife, she loved the adventure of new places and new people. She accompanied her husband, Col. Fate, on his assignments in Germany, Alaska, and Iran. As patron of the arts and a community leader she took active roles in community affairs and the arts throughout her life. She touched the lives and hearts of all who knew her and she will be missed by all. GRANT -- Tillie A. Grant, 91, a life-long resident of New Mexico, went home with the Lord on Saturday, May 19, 2007. Mrs. Grant was very active at St. Pius School while her children were students. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt and always put others before herself. HANSCHE -- George E. Hansche passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2007. He was born in Racine, Wisconsin. George attended Ripon College, then got his PhD in Physics at Ohio State University. He met and married Helen Johnson in Albuquerque in 1945. After a year teaching at Rose Poly in Terre Haute, Indiana, they returned to Albuquerque where George worked for Sandia National Laboratories for the rest of his career. After retiring from Sandia Labs, they enjoyed traveling in their RV and gardening. George was preceded in death by one grandson and he is survived by his wife, Helen; two sons, Bruce and wife, Chris, Brian and wife, Margie; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. JARAMILLO -- Andres Jaramillo was born August 3, 1933. A lifelong resident of Albuquerque, he fell asleep Friday, May 18, 2007. Andres was a hard working, family man and a roofer by trade. He loved to gardening and enjoyed animals. Andres always enjoyed spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jane Moya. Andres is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Antonita Jaramillo; children, Ralph Jaramillo, Eddie Jaramillo, Ricky Jaramillo, Steve Jaramillo, Charlene Jaramillo and husband, Ian Garcia; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Martinez, Eita Barela and husband, Percy; other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. LAROSA -- Barbara A. LaRosa, 68, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1990, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2007. Barbara had been the owner of Pack-N-Post in Rio Rancho since 1996. Barbara was entirely devoted to her children and their families. She was a member of the Church of the Incarnation. Barbara was an active supporter of the Rio Rancho sports programs with her grandchildren. Barbara loved to bowl and she really loved Rio Rancho. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carmela Buonantony in 2002. Barbara is survived by her father, Charles F. Buonantony Sr. of Rio Rancho; children, Joseph LaRosa and wife, Deborah of Rio Rancho, and Patricia Salzone and husband, Frank of Edison, NJ; grandchildren, Angela LaRosa, Francesca LaRosa, Stephen LaRosa, Samantha Salzone, and Francesca Salzone; one great-grandchild, Gabriella LaRosa; one brother, Charles F. MARTINEZ -- David Martinez was born February 15, 1963 in Albuquerque, NM. He passed away at his home Thursday, May 17, 2007. MORA -- Ben Mora, age 74, a resident of Los Lunas, NM, was born in Chilili, NM and went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, May 20, 2007. Ben lived his life in "blazing saddles" he was a strong, handsome, and tenacious man who was always ready to crack a joke or tell a story. Ben was a bus contractor for APS for over 15 years and worked for the state highway department for over 10 years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In his later days he was a foster grandparent and board member teaching children in Los Lunas schools. He was a rancher, business owner, mechanic, hunter, fisher, inventor, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His smile and lively spirit will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Vivian Mora. Ben is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Aneda Mora who he lovingly cared for and protected. Five children, Charlene Vallejos of Los Lunas, Marylin Proscia and her husband, Michael, Ben Mora, III and his wife, Anita, Renee Mora and her husband, Carlos, and Gary Mora and his wife, Dovie, all of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Althea and Cody Strong, Adam Vallejos, and Ashley and Aneda "Needy" Mora. Great-grandchildren, Lilly and Juda Strong were blessed to know their "gramps". NEVADA -- Henry Nevada, 91, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948, died Sunday, May 20, 2007. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Emily Nevada; three children, Ernie Nevada and wife, Petra, of Albuquerque, Emily Nolan of Frederick, CO, and Phillip Nevada and wife, Ronnie; 11 grandchildren, Bradley Nolan and wife, Kelly, Scott Nolan, Ryan Nolan, Robert Nevada, Eric Nevada and wife, Andrea, Elizabeth Nevada, Jarrod Loretto and wife, Shayleen, Michelle Kaemerer and husband, John, Phillip Nevada, Jason Clapp and wife, Pamela, and Justin Clapp; eight great-grandchildren, Jordan, Leah, Patrick, Natalie, Cheyanne, Jaiden, Jacelynn, and Taylor; and numerous other relatives and friends. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Clem and Dolores Pena Nevada; one brother; and three sisters. He was born on May 31, 1915 in Los Angeles, CA. Henry joined the U.S. Navy in 1941 and served until 1945 during WWII. He married Emily Salazar in 1945 and moved to Albuquerque where he was a produce manager for Furr's Supermarkets until his retirement in 1980. Henry stayed home for three months before returning to work at Otero's Cost Plus where he worked until age 82. He served as President of the Retail Clerks Union from 1963 to 1967. Henry enjoyed serving his customers through the many years and watching professional golf. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. OBRIST -- Alberta G. Obrist passed away May 18, 2007 at age 103 less one day. She was born May 19, 1904 in Wichita, KS to Jacob Henry Voth and Alberta G. Shipley. She was preceded in death by her mother from tuberculosis when she was only 16 months old; her father in 1931; her husband of 54 years, William Obrist in 1981; and two older sisters, Florence Ellmaker, and Esther Brown. After completing high school she graduated in Expression from the Three Arts Conservatory. She was a bookkeeper at Orr's Bookstore for a number of years before her marriage to William Obrist in 1937. When William became a Postal Inspector, they were transferred to Pueblo, CO. Two years later during WWII, they were sent to Albuquerque where they remained. Alberta worked as a floral designer for Ives Flower Shop. During the war she rolled bandages for our wounded service men. She enjoyed cooking and made delicious dinners for visiting Inspectors as well as service men on special holidays. She was active with her husband in NARFE (National Association of Retired Federal Employees) as well as the Elk's Club. She is survived by her daughter, Geraldine Lemmon (Bill); grandsons, Terry Stein (Karen) and Bill Lemmon, Jr.; granddaughter, Susan K. Lemmon; three great-granddaughters, Danielle Walker (Brandon), Amber Spiers (Debtrell), and Rebecca Stein; one great-great-granddaughter, Katie Spiers; and nephew, Paul Ellmaker (Wanda). Services will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. with family prayer and viewing at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 12701 Indian School Rd. QUICK -- Inez Evelyn (Titsworth) Quick, 82, died on May 18, 2007 at Princeton Place in Albuquerque, NM. She was born to Nancy McQuery and Floyd Titsworth on May 27, 1924 in Aspermont, TX. She lived the majority of her life in New Mexico where she was a homemaker and loved to garden, weave, croquechet, kraftwork, knit, and especially hunt arrowheads. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Marion A. Quick; one son, Marion Quick Jr. and wife, Carol of Bloomfield, NM; three grandchildren, Holly, Marsha Lee, and Michael; five great-grandchildren; and numerous friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by two infant daughters; two brothers; and one sister. An informal gathering of family and friends will be at Palm Chapel at Strong-Thorne Funeral Home, 1100 Coal SW, Albuquerque, NM at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nay 25, 2007. ROWDABAUGH -- Marshall J. Rowdabaugh, 88, a resident of Albuquerque since 1952, died in Albuquerque on Thursday, May 17. He was born November 5, 1918 in West Liberty, IA, the second child of Bertha Bernice and Seth Earl Rowdabaugh. Marshall is survived by his son, Kirk M. Rowdabaugh, his wife, Patricia and their daughter, Rachael of Phoenix, AZ; and daughter, Marsha L. Jacklin, her husband, William and their daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Ray Josephson of Albuquerque; three sisters, Ruth McKinney of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii; Baja Clarke of Portola Valley, CA; Jo An Johnson of Fremont, CA; brother, Earl Rowdabaugh, of Orland IN; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Louise Rowdabaugh in 2004. A long-time member of Albuquerque's Medical Community, Marshall received his pre-med degree in 1941 from The University of Texas at El Paso (then West Texas School of Mines and Metallurgy). He proudly became a member of the U.S. Army Medical Corps following the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941. Marshall completed his Doctor of Medicine from Indiana University in 1945. Following military service in 1948, he practiced general medicine in South Bend, Indiana until 1950. After pursuing a residency in anesthesia in 1951, the family relocated to Albuquerque in 1952. Marshall attained National Board Certification in Anesthesiology and practiced with Albuquerque Anesthesia Associates until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of Rotary Club, the Greater Albuquerque Medical Association, the American Medical Association, and New Mexico Medical Political Action Committee. Marshall enjoyed bridge, round dancing, cooking and gardening after his retirement. SCHOOLCRAFT -- Edward A. Schoolcraft Jr., 76, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away on May 16, 2007 after a lengthy illness. Mr. Schoolcraft was born on October 30, 1930 to Edward and Mildred Burpo Schoolcraft of Martinsville, IN. Amongst his many accomplishments during his life, he served in the Army, Air force and National Guard. He was an electrician for the local IBEW. At age 60 he returned to school to graduate with honors in Paralegal Studies. He was a member of the Mesa Lodge #68 and volunteered for many years as a valued member of the Hispanic Genealogical Research Center of New Mexico where he helped publish over 44 books and received many awards. Edward Schoolcraft was preceded in death by his loving wife, Eva Alderete Schoolcraft; their son, Jarvis Schoolcraft; and brothers, Jackie and Michael Schoolcraft. He is survived by his daughter, Terri Yvonne Alderete; two grandchildren, Tera Zubia and Jason Schoolcraft; and three great-grandchildren, Alexandria Zubia, Jason Jr. Schoolcraft, Jessica Schoolcraft; and three brothers and two sisters, Richard, Jarvis, and Dutch Schoolcraft, and Janice Clark and Anita Ahl. A Memorial will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Church, 5311 Phoenix Ave. NE. TRUJILLO -- Daniel A. Trujillo, 26, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on May 19, 2007. Daniel is survived by his parents, Jose and Margaret Trujillo; one sister, Marie Ronquillo and husband, Ricardo; his grandmother, Maria Theresa Trujillo; one niece, Delilah Lucero; one nephew, Angelo Ronquillo; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Daniel was preceded in death by his mother, Yolanda. Daniel was a member of the Catholic Church. Visitation for Daniel will be Tuesday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos NW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Deacon George Valverde. Final visitation will be Wednesday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. by Father Joe Vigil. WARREN -- Miriam B. Warren, 91, a resident of Albuquerque, NM for more than sixty years, passed away on May 18, 2007 in Albuquerque. Mrs.Warren was born on June 10, 1915 to Charles Burtis and Emma True (Newby) Barnes of Las Vegas, NM. She graduated Suma Cum Laude of her class at Highlands University in Las Vegas, NM in 1937. She belonged to the Tri Sigma Sorority Alumni and Eastern Star. Her interests were family, home, traveling, bookkeeping and reading. She was the previous co-owner and bookkeeper for Warren Auto Supply and ABC Mobile Brakes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert (Deb) Warren in 1974. She is survived by a son, Michael Warren and his wife, Margaret, of Eden Prairie, MN; a daughter, True Dee Paques and husband, Ed, of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Robin Baxter and her husband, James, Jon Paques and his wife, Stephanie, of Albuquerque, and Deborah Chebatar and her husband, Gerry, of Virginia; and four great-grandchildren, Debbie Jo Baxter, Justin and Shaun Paques, and Jason Chebatar; a niece, Zona Faye Cottrill and her husband, Richard; as well as several grand-nieces and -nephews. Viewing and Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services, 3113 Carlisle Blvd. NE, Albuquerque.
