ABEYTA -- Remedios Maria Chavez de Abeyta, (February 9, 1909 - February 8, 2007) passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, February 8, 2007. She is survived by her son, Alex Abeyta Jr. and his wife, Yvonne; grandchildren, Lisa, Lucinda, Alex III and his wife, Anita, Adrian, and Stephanie; and great grandchildren, Justin, Matthew, Samantha, Alexis, Alyssa, Christopher, and Addy. Mrs. Abeyta was born on February 9, 1909 in San Antonio, NM to Solomon Chavez and Guadalupe Miera de Chavez. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Abeyta Sr. They lived out most of their lives in Deming, NM, raising their only son, Alex Jr. They moved to Albuquerque in the 1970's to be closer to their grandchildren. A rosary will be recited at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, on Sunday, February 11, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. A Reception immediately following the services will be held at 2925 Indiana NE. BACH -- Miriam L. Bach, 80, died unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, February 11, 2007. She was born April 5, 1926 in Newton, IA to Pearl A. and Lena Ryan Haifleigh. Family was very important to Miriam and gave her great joy. She was a loving caregiver to both her parents, her husband, and her son-in-law, Robbie for many years. She is survived by her children: Carolyn Butler and husband, Dan of Stanley, Cathy Stubblefield of Edgewood, Ray Bach and wife, Ronay of Canyon, TX, and Carmen Wolfe and husband, Eric of Appleton, WI; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; and many wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Bach in 1982. Traveling, shopping and gardening were some of her activities. She retired from First National Bank. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 14, 2007, 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd., NE. Services will be Thursday, February 15, 2007, 10:00 a.m. at Chester T. BROWN -- Myrtle L. Brown, 79, a resident of Cedar Crest for 43 years, died Saturday, February 10, 2007. She is survived by her children, Connie B. Sciacca and husband, Carl of Trinidad, CO, Frederick Arthur Brown, II and wife, Ina of Harper, TX; grandchildren, Wade Aubuchon and fiancee, Melinda Broderick of Albuquerque, Daryl Aubuchon and wife, Louise of Trinidad, CO; four great grandchildren, Kyra, Kolton, Grant and Meg; brother, Tommy Kimsey and wife, Frances of Albuquerque; sister, Carolyn Bacher; and many friends. Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Fred in 2006. She was born in Belen, NM on January 25, 1928. Fred and Myrtle were married in Belen on February 10, 1946. She was one of the charter members of Mountainside Methodist Church in Cedar Crest and was instrumental in starting the Sandia Mountain Wildlife Association. She was very active in the Ponderosa Extension Club. Myrtle was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. GUTIERREZ -- Eloy Gutierrez, age 78, beloved father, grandfather, and brother, was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, February 10, 2007. He was born in Chilili, NM to Juan and Pauline Pohl Gutierrez, he was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque. Eloy retired from the City of Albuquerque after 35 years in 1979, as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He has joined his wife, Aurelia; and two sons, Robert Eloy and Richard Stephen Gutierrez in their heavenly home. Eloy is survived by his loving son, Leo J. Gutierrez and wife, Debra; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers, Rudy Gutierrez and wife, Mary, Willie Gutierrez, Kass Gutierrez and wife, Esther, Johnny Gutierrez and wife, Barbara; sisters, Isabella Parra, Annie Garcia and husband, Ramon, Jean Benavidez and husband, Gilbert; numerous nieces, nephews; and other beloved family members and friends. GUTIERREZ -- Martin Gabriel Gutierrez, God knew you were failing, that the hills were hard to climb. So He gently closed your eye lids and whispered, "Peace be Thine". Martin Gutierrez, age 28, a resident of Bernalillo, NM, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, February 10, 2007. He was preceded in death by his father, Bernie Gutierrez; grandfather, Felipe Gonzales; uncle, Michael Gonzales; and aunt, Betty Gonzales. Martin is survived by his beautiful daughter, Shannah Gutierrez; his loving mother, Diana Gonzales; grandmother, Sista Gonzales; sister, Andrea Ortiz; brothers, Robert Gutierrez, Adrian Gutierrez, and Orlando Gonzales. HICKEY -- Donald Edward Hickey, a resident of Albuquerque, died February 10, 2007. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Barbara Hickey. He is also survived by his three daughters, June Smith and husband, Brian of Aurora, IL, Alice Ferrari and husband, Peter and Karen Vernon of Albuquerque, NM; and his seven grandchildren. Donald was born on April 30, 1930 in Aurora, IL and was a teacher and counselor in Downers Grove, IL for many years. After his retirement he moved to Holly Hill, FL where he worked for the Job service of Florida doing job counseling. Mr. Hickey was a veteran of the Korean War and was awarded three Bronze Service Stars and the United Nations Service award. He was a proud member of the American Legion. A Memorial Service will be held at the Las Colinas Village, 500 Paisano St. NE, at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 12, 2007, with Pastor Rick Martin officiating. JARAMILLO -- Augustine "Gus" Jaramillo, beloved husband and father, died Saturday after his long battle with cancer at the age of 64. Gus was a longtime resident of the Albuquerque area and is survived by his wife, Carmen Jaramillo; their four children, Evelyn Apodaca and husband, Louie Apodaca, David Jaramillo and fiancee, Tracy Black, Greg Jaramillo and wife, Maggie Jaramillo, Robert Jaramillo and wife, Karla Jaramillo. Gus was surrounded by family and close friends during his life, which included 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends. Gus will be greatly missed for his smile and his devotion to his wife and family. JETT -- Floyd Jett, Jr., 79, died Wednesday morning, February 7, 2007 at Grove General Hospital in Grove, OK. Floyd was born June 16, 1927 at Vinita, OK to Floyd Jett, Sr. and Ella (Curry) Jett. Floyd married Cora Anaya on December 22, 1954 in Denver, CO. The couple moved to Monkey Island in 1997. He was owner and President of New Mexico Steel Erections, Inc., in Albuquerque, NM, prior to his retirement in 1985. Floyd enjoyed outdoor activities. Two of his favorites were fishing on Grand Lake for Crappie and Bass, playing golf, and he had also played football at N.E.O. A&M in Miami. Survivors include his wife, Cora of the home; one daughter, Katherine Williams of Jay, OK; one son, Joseph Jett of Denver, CO; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and by one brother and one half-brother. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Simon Williams. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 12, 2007 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove, OK, with Rev. Doug Rainbolt officiating. KELLER -- KAREN LEE Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Karen, went to be with our Lord on February 10, 2007 after a long struggle with Amyloidosis. She was born in Massillon, OH on June 12, 1939. She worked for the Evening Independent before moving to Albuquerque in 1985. She worked for the Albuquerque Journal for 20 years. She loved the arts and was an avid movie-goer. She loved gardening, shopping and eating out. She was also a talented photographer and artist who loved to travel. She loved her family and her cats, Tasha and Chelsea. Her life was too short and she will be greatly missed! She is survived by three daughters: Jane Lail of Harrisburg, NC and husband, Rick; Susan Kirchgessner of Albuquerque and husband, Tom; Amy Broadwater of North Royalton, OH and husband, Mike; ten grandchildren: Alyssa, Ericka, Katherine, and Mckenzie Lail, Zach, Luke, and Emma Kirchgessner, and Ashley, Meredith, and Mia Broadwater; two sisters, Diane Mackay of Huntington, WV, and Nancy Cerana of New Philadelphia, OH; a brother, Rex Cassidy of Wooster, OH; and two nieces and a nephew. KOZLOWSKI -- Victoria "Vicky" D. Kozlowski Born: May 8, 1953 - Died: February 13, 2006 It's been a year since you were taken from us and we will never understand why. LYON -- Gail Lyon, 63, a resident of Albuquerque since 1968, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2007. She is survived by her sons. Charles Lyon and wife, Elizabeth of Albuquerque, Sean Lyon and wife, Sandra of Albuquerque; grandchildren: Jeremy, Michael, Victoria, and Evan; and brother, Hal Martin and wife, Sue of Albuquerque. Gail was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She shared her love as a foster parent since 1984. She will be missed greatly by all whose lives she touched, and will remain in our hearts forever. Cremation has taken place. RICKERT -- Alfred E. Rickert, age 76, died Friday February 9th after a long battle with prostate cancer. Dr. Rickert was an Emeritus Professor of English at the State University of New York at Oswego. He had been active in theatre and was a past president of the American Association of Community Theatre (AACT). During his retirement he became a master weaver showing and selling his work at the Yucca Gallery in Old Town. He is survived by his wife Margaret; son Paul; daughter Susan; and three grandsons. A Memorial Service will be held at First Unitarian Church at a later date.

SALAZAR -- Felipe The family of Felipe (Phil) Salazar would like to thank everyone who offered prayers during the time of his illness and for attending the rosary and Funeral Mass. SALINAS -- CECILIA A. A Memorial Service for Cecilia Salinas will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2007 at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church with Deacon Tilar officiating. Her Funeral Mass was held at 10:00 a.m. at San Jose Catholic Church on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 in Carlsbad, NM. She was interred in Carlsbad Cemetery. Arrangements are by West Funeral Home Cecilia Ann Salinas was born June 10, 1962 in Sacramento, CA to Jose Mario and Helen (Fernandez) Salinas. The family moved to Carlsbad in 1964 and back to California in 1967. In 1977 they moved to Albuquerque, NM where Cecilia graduated high school. Upon graduation, she became employed with J.C. Penney's. She was the Catalog Department supervisor and a very diligent worker, never missing a day. Cecilia had met Kambiz Omidvar, the "love of her life", and they were engaged to be married. She was a member of the Risen Savior Catholic Church in Albuquerque and an active member of United Way. She is survived by her parents, Mario and Helen Salinas of Carlsbad; brothers, Christopher Salinas and wife, Susan and Frank Salinas and wife, Joanne, all of Albuquerque, NM, and TSGT Jake Salinas and wife, Karen, of Cannon Air Force Base, Clovis, NM; two nephews, Christian and Christopher Jr.; and four nieces, Vanessa, Destiny, Samantha, and Ashlie. SIERRA -- FRANK Mr. Frank Sierra, 60, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on February 8, 2007. Mr. Sierra is the beloved father to Yvonne Sierra. SIERRA -- FRANK On February 8, 2007 Frank (Stuffy, Pancho) Sierra went home to be with our Lord. His father, Pedro Sierra and brother, Guillermo Sierra preceded Frank in death. Frank is survived by his daughter, Yvonne Sierra and grandson, Jonathon Lujan; his mother, Ramona B. Sierra; sisters, Isabel Padilla, husband, Florencio, Beatrice Dixon, husband, Jim, Ruby Wackerbarth, husband, Steve, and Ruth and Cathy Sierra; brothers, Pedro, Carlos, Gilbert Sierra; and friend, Elmer Bible Jr.; several nieces and nephews, two of which were his godsons, Tobias P. Mascarenas and Kevin A. Wackerbarth. Frank was a 1965 graduate from Rio Grande High School, attended UNM, was a retired Lt. from AFD, and after a 15 year carrier with banking business retired for a 2nd time. Frank was a long time member of the American Legion Post 13 and currently a member of the American Legion Post 100. Frank was an avid sports man and especially loved to play golf and baseball. Services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 1860 Griegos Rd. NW. WALLNER -- James E. Wallner, age 77, a resident of Veguita, NM, passed away Friday, February 9, 2007, after a short illness surrounded by his loving family. He was retired from the United States Air Force where he served as a draftsman/illustrator for 20 years. He went on to become an electrician and worked in many New Mexico mines. He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Mary. Late in life he met and married his best buddy, Hazel. They spent many happy years camping and fishing around New Mexico. Jim's true passion was painting and creating beautiful New Mexico landscapes on canvas. He delighted his family by hiding a rabbit in each of his paintings for them to find. Jim was preceded in death by his father, John Charles; and mother, Rose Pauline; his brother, John; and sister, Rosemary; and his daughter, Carmen Bush. Jim is survived by his younger sister, Mary Cecelia; and his seven children, Daniel Bush and his wife, Lula Belle, Gene Bush and his wife, Vickie, Margaret (Janie) Ruder and her husband, Lewis, Toni Schultz and her husband, Bill, James E. Wallner Jr., Jon Wallner and his wife, Lynnette, Jan Elizabeth Wallner and her partner, Diane Castillo. Jim is also survived by a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a sprinkling of great-great-grandchildren. He was a good grandpa and will be greatly missed by all of his family. All Services will be at the San Isidro Catholic Church, Los Nutrias, NM, beginning with a visitation on Monday, February 12, at 6:30 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A final visitation will be on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday. Pallbearers will be his many grandchildren who will carry him to his rest. The family invites all to join them in their good byes and celebration of this special and loved man's life.
