BAGI -- James Bagi (Jay), 43, beloved son and brother, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2006 in San Francisco, CA. Jay was born April 8, 1963 at Presbyterian Hospital to Mary Ann and Gus Bagi. He grew up playing on the mesas and in the arroyos around Albuquerque. Always with an interest in cooking, Jay began developing his talents as a chef locally. While living in San Francisco, he had a successful career at well known restaurants. Eventually, Jay opened his own restaurant in the city. Despite the difficulties of a protracted illness, he continued to grow, learn, and love. He met his death with grace and dignity. Jay will be missed. BOBER -- HAROLD L. Dr. Harold L. Bober, 70, beloved father and educator, passed away on October 22, 2006 in Denver, CO. He is survived by his two daughters, Melanie Bober and Simone Bober, and his sister, Lillian Zentner. Burial has taken place at Shaarey Zedek Cemetery in Winnipeg, Canada. Dr. Bober was Assistant Dean of Pharmacy at UNM for several years before moving to Denver, where he taught at the University of Colorado. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association or the Diabetes Foundation.

BUTLER -- Erwin D. Butler, age 84, of Rio Rancho, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, October 31, 2006. Erwin was born and grew up in Salem, NJ to William and Anna Mae Drummond Butler. He and his family lived in Pennsville, NJ for many years. After retirement from the DuPont Company, Erwin and Loretta relocated to Rio Rancho, where they most recently attended Mesa View United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Loretta; three sons, Denver Ray Mut, Donald L. Butler and his wife, Debbie Lindell, Mark E. Butler and his wife, Cecilia; grandchildren, Brandon, Nicole and Lucas. CASAUS -- Virginio Alessandro (Alex) Casaus went home to be with the Lord, November 3, 2006. He was born on October 20, 1929 to Teodoro and Eva Casaus in the village of Cuba, NM. He resided there until 1948 when the family moved to Albuquerque. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 from which he was honorably discharged. He came home to marry the former Mary Rita Chavez. He is survived by his wife, Mary Casaus and seven children. They are Michael Casaus and wife, Teresa, Debbie Garcia and husband, Dante, Cathy Paolino and husband, John, Gilbert Casaus and wife, Kimberly, Matthew Casaus, William Casaus and wife, Debbie, and Andrew Casaus. There are 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Alex has three surviving sisters, Vicenta (Bessie) Berbiglia, Marcella Romero, and Saturnina (Nina) Chavez; and one brother, Fred Casaus. He was preceded in death by his parents, Teodoro Casaus and Eva Casaus; and by one brother and four sisters, Virginio, Adelicia (Lita), Eloyda, Elva, and Cecelia. Alex's passions in life were his family and his music. He was a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather, and brother who fulfilled all his obligations in this life. All who knew him loved him and he will be dearly missed. He was a member of the D.A.V. and V.F.W., the Knights of Columbus, and St. Bernadette's Catholic Church and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1992 after 28 years of service. A Rosary will be recited Monday, November 6, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at The Shrine of St. Bernadette Church. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated the following day, Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. HENNIG -- Eldon L. "Les" Hennig, age 81, of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2006 at a local hospital. Mr. Hennig was born November 15, 1924 in Kansas City, MO to Traugott and Bertha Hennig. He married Donna M. Fisher on June 4, 1947 in Wellington, KS. She preceded him in death on August 7, 1995 after 48 years of marriage. Surviving are his sons, Gregory L. Hennig and his wife, Susan of Katy, TX, Phillip D. Hennig and his wife, Mary Ann of Wellington, KS, Randall L. Hennig and his wife, Gina, Stephen B. Hennig and his wife, Debra, Timothy J. Hennig and wife, Nancy, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Brent, Scott, Chantelle, Alyssa, Aaron, Shawna, Colby, Ryan, Eric, Michael, Tamara, and Andrew; and five great-grandchildren, Reilly, Wyatt, Mason, Megan, and Reid. Mr. Hennig was a WWII veteran serving in the Army having served in Greenland and Iceland as a radio operator. Mr. Hennig enjoyed flying single engine aircraft and playing the piano at an early age. He also enjoyed visiting with his friends. Though not outwardly expressive, his love towards his family was deeply felt. Though he lived much of his life in Albuquerque he always called Wellington, KS his home. He will be surely missed by all. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 6, 2006 at Our Risen Savior Catholic Community Church,. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Sunday November 5, 2006 at French Mortuary Wyoming Chapel. INGRAM -- Elsie E. Ingram passed away on November 1, 2006. She was a resident of Albuquerque since 1957. She is survived by a son, Gary J. Ingram and wife, Adrienne of London, England; her granddaughters, Monica Popp, husband, Steve Popp, great-granddaughters, Stephanie and Jennifer Popp of Albuquerque; and Tami L. Wolensek, husband, Jim Wolensek and great-grandson, Charlie James Wolensek of Chicago, IL. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives in St. Louis and Memphis and Ohio. Her brothers, Christian and Al Stettler and sisters, Rose Meier and Ida Brookisher preceded her in death. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, having retired from the Corps of Engineers in Albuquerque in 1976 after 25 years of Civil Service. Donation of body to UNM Study and Research has taken place. JIO -- Ranceford H. Jio, 56, passed away October 26 at his home with family after battling lung cancer. Born in Hawaii, he moved to NM in 1968. He was the longest tenured employee as an accountant for the Maloof Companies. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Kathy; son, James (JJ), wife, Carla and their daughters, Monica and Jeneva; son, Ranceford (RJ), wife, Renae and their children, David and Ciera; son, Anthony (TJ), wife, Michelle and their daughters, Maya and Olivia, all of Albuquerque; sister, Sheri, her husband, Randi and their son, Ryan; his mother, Aiko; and preceded in death by his father, Nobuyuki, all of Hawaii. Rance was a family man and he loved to play with his grandchildren. He had a passion for cars. He spent many years outdoors fishing or hunting with his wife and sons. He will be greatly missed.

KELTNER -- Sharon Keltner, passed away after a short illness on October 31, 2006. She was born on November 18, 1942 in Lansing, MI to Alice and Kenneth Park. She is survived by her husband, Ned; their daughters, Amy Rogers (and son-in-law Will, Thornton, CO) and Mindy Koch (and son-in-law Larry, Albuquerque); three granddaughters, Morgan and Lauren Rogers, and Alix Koch; her sister, Mary Simon (Remus, MI); and her step-father, Lawrence Havens (Mecosta, MI). She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter, Coreen. Sharon met her husband-to-be in junior high school in Lansing; they married in 1961. After graduation, she started work at the headquarters of Oldsmobile in Lansing and rose to be an Assistant to the Sales Manager. After Ned graduated from college, they moved to Albuquerque in 1964. Once their daughters were well along in school, she started her own arts and crafts business, called Stitches 'n Stuff. Specializing in creative stitchery as well as custom clothing and design, she began selling her crafts with a group called Los Novicios. Sharon created the Santa's Sleigh Arts and Crafts Show and promoted it for 15 years before retiring. Happily, Santa's Sleigh continues under a new owner. Sharon was active with the Harmony Adult Class at Central Methodist Church for many years. She enjoyed camping and boating at Elephant Butte Lake with family and friends. She loved vacationing at the ocean, especially in Cabo San Lucas or San Diego. She was affectionately known as The Dessert Lady of the Albuquerque Boat Club and was elected their 2006 Sweetheart last February. LEO -- Douglas James Leo, age 33, of Columbus, OH, husband of Amy (Christophersen) Leo, died at home on November 3, 2006 of a brain tumor. He was a sales manager for XTRA Lease in Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Amy, a former resident of Albuquerque and his two daughters, Trinity and Reagan Leo. Amy is the daughter of Albuquerque residents, Tony and Mary Lou Christophersen. LITTLEJOHN -- George Frederick Littlejohn, 61, longtime resident of the North Valley area of Albuquerque, passed away suddenly Thursday, November 2, 2006 at the family home. He is survived by his mother, Adele Littlejohn of Albuquerque; sister, Claudia Witzling of Flanders, NJ; daughter, April Littlejohn Vezie of Los Lunas; aunt, Mrs. John Wilson of San Antonio, TX; two nephews; and a great-nephew. Mr. Littlejohn was preceded in death by his father, T.C. Littlejohn; grandmother, Mabel Archer; and grandparents, George W. and Rebecca Littlejohn. A graduate of Valley High School and T.V.I., George held a journeyman plumber's license. At various times he worked with his father in the Albuquerque ServiceMaster franchise, as a road construction crew member, and with the Maintenance and Operation division of the Albuquerque Public School System until his retirement on medical disability. As a youth he was a member of 4-H. He enjoyed outdoor activities, particularly camping, fishing and hiking in the Jemez area. The international balloon fiesta was a special love and he crewed for a number of balloonists over the years. Other favorites included science fiction, mysteries, Louis L'Amour Westerns, and chili, the hotter the better. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. MANDELL -- Gerald J. Mandell "Jerry" was born on March 12, 1947 in Hollywood, CA. He passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2006 in Albuquerque, NM. Jerry was a 1965 graduate of Albuquerque High School. He was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Joe and Sally Mandell; his biological parents, Don Archer, Sr. and Helen Ruth Kertson-York; his brother, Doug Archer; and sister, Darlene Archer. Jerry is survived by his wife, Trinnie; daughter, Myria; sisters, Margaret York and Mary Atkinson; brothers, Richard York and Don Archer, Jr. Gerald Mandell was a Spanish Colonial Historian for 20 years. He researched commerce between Mexico and New Mexico, with an emphasis on the silver mining district of Parral, Mexico during the mid to late 1600s, using only primary sources. During the last 10 years he and his partner, Rick Hendricks, have been writing and publishing his findings. Their articles have been published in several historical journals, including the New Mexico Historical Review (UNM Press). Aside from his personal research, he worked on the Don Diego de Vargas project - which published several volumes (in one of which he was credited as its research consultant). Jerry was an interesting and talented man. One of his fascinating talents was his photographic memory - the ability to see nearly anything he'd ever read in his mind. This ability undoubtedly aided him in his research and writing. ROMERO -- Dolores M. Silva Romero, age 59, a resident of Belen, NM, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2006. She was the granddaughter of the late Aldofo and Savera Silva. Dolores was a hairdresser for 21 years and has been retired for the last 7 years. Since her retirement she has been taking care of her grandchildren. She enjoyed family gatherings and all of the heritage including listening to her family musicians. She had a strong Christian faith and enjoyed sharing her testimony. Dolores loved caring for others and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Margaret Silva; cousin, Barney Silva; and brother-in-law, David Romero. SALAZAR -- Rose E. Salazar, 95, passed away peacefully Monday, October 30, 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Salazar; her sister, Cedelia Baca; and her brother in-law, Miguel Baca. Rose was born in Conejos, CO in 1911. Rose spent most of her life in Los Angeles, CA, moving there in 1939. Rose moved to Albuquerque in 1980 to help her sister with her ailing husband. Rose loved dancing, and would actively seek every opportunity to get out and pursue her passion. Rose loved life and made friends easily. Her outgoing personality enabled her to be loved by many. Rose is survived by her niece, Martha Duran; Noel M. Baca; and Robert O. Baca; along with many great-nieces and nephews. At Rose's request, her body will be donated to the UNM School of Medicine. SHOCKLEY -- Mary Isabell Shockley, 90, an Albuquerque resident since 1998, died Tuesday, October 31, 2006. She is survived by her daughter, Betty Russell and husband, Bill of Albuquerque; son, Robert Shockley and wife, JoAnn of Ritzville, WA; grandchildren, Debi Smith of California City, CA, Donna Russell of Clovis, NM, Glen Russell and wife, Michele of Farmington, NM, Sandy Ybarra and husband, Gregg of Springfield, OR, Suzie Crapson and husband, Steve of Moses Lake, WA; seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers and sisters; and a grandson, Gary Russell. Mrs. Shockley was active in various civic organizations in Sunnyside, WA where she lived most of her adult life. She loved gardening, and the outdoors. She especially loved her family and friends and neighbors. Mary enjoyed traveling across the country and around the world to visit with her family. Mary was an avid crotcheter and quilter. TORRES -- Jeanette J. Torres, is now at Home with the Lord, born on April 28, 1952. She lost her long battle with cancer on November 2, 2006. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Corrine Harrison and recently her sister, Virginia Harrison. She is survived by her loving husband, of 36 years, Daniel M. Torres; her loving daughter, Kimberly Torres; and her loving son, Kevin Torres; sister, Loretta Gurule and husband, Al Gurule; mother-in-law, Alice Torres; brother-in-law, Paul Torres; sister-in-law, Lucille Giddings and husband, Charles Giddings; sister-in-law, Julie Velasco and husband, Bobby Velasco; and many nieces and nephews. Jeanette attended Valley High School and graduated in 1970. Prior to her illness, she worked for Circuit City in Computer Sales and received numerous awards for Top Sales Performance. Jeanette loved animals, especially her dogs, Haley, Hokulani, Eddy, Karma, Lani and Pinon. No matter how bad her days would get, her dogs would always bring a smile and joy to her life. Jeanette was an avid collector, her favorites being Hello Kitty and Beanie Babies. She will always be remembered for her warm and loving smile that touched those who knew her. A Rosary will be recited on Monday at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Church, 5901 St. Joseph Dr. NW. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be AB Montoya, Max Contreras, Stephen Sais, Arthur Harrison, Chucky Giddings, and Vernon Dinelli. Honorary Pallbearers will be Avery Gurule and Manuel Perea. VAQUERA -- EZEQUIO A. Mr. Ezequio A. Vaquera, 87, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on November 2, 2006 peacefully at home with his family by his side. Mr. Vaquera is the beloved father to one daughter, Mercy Brown and two sons, Steve Vaquera, and Diane Sanchez, Antonio Vaquera and wife, Tomasita; Mr. Vaquera is also survived by his sister, Consuelo Arvillo and husband, Lolo; one brother, Edward Vaquera and wife, Rusy; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mr. Vaquera was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Maria and a daughter, Veda Ruth Baca. Mr. Vaquera was a member of the Catholic Church. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW, from 3:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 4:00 p.m. by Blue Army. Final visitation will be Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. by Monsignor Leo Gomez. WINEGAR -- Marcella L. Winegar, age 95, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2006. She was born on November 17, 1910 in Kansas City, MO to Clark and Marian Hitchcock and married William Steele Winegar on September 24, 1937 in Kansas City, MO. She is survived by her two sons, William R. Winegar and Robert B. Winegar and wife, Astrid; and two granddaughters, Chloe and Callista. Mrs. Winegar was preceded in death by her husband, William Steel Winegar on March 17, 2005 after 67 years of marriage.
