BURNETT -- Harold E. Burnett, 66, a longtime resident of Edgewood NM, died Friday, August 18, 2006. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Yvonne; son, Aaron; grandson, Shane; granddaughter, Dakota; brothers and sisters in Missouri and California; and numerous nieces, nephews. Harold was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Damon and Justin Burnett; and brothers, Tommy and Kenny. Harold truly loved his family and friends and had an amazing zest for life. Harold will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Services will be held Saturday, August 26, 2006, 10:00 a.m. at East Mountain Assembly of God. Take the Edgewood exit from I-40 East, turn right at the stop sign, turn left at the stop light and proceed approximately 5.5 miles on Route 66. The church is on the south side of the road. Larry Cox will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, they can be sent to the church.

GONZALES -- FRANCES M. Mrs. Frances M. Gonzales, 73, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on August 23, 2006 with her family by her side and is now in heaven with our Lord. Mrs. Gonzales is the beloved wife to Mr. Bennie Gonzales, married for 53 years. Mrs. Gonzales is also survived by her children, Bennie Gonzales and wife, Mary, Randolph Gonzales and wife, Donna and Christina Gonzales; eight grandchildren, Bennie Joseph, James, Monica, Melany, Raquel, Diego, Frances and husband, Ray, and Nicole; three great-grandchildren, Marisa, R.J., and Nevaeh; one sister, Carolyn Montoya; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Mrs. Gonzales was member of the Catholic Church. Visitation for Mrs. Gonzales will be Friday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Deacon Pilar Garcia. Final visitation will be Saturday morning at Santuario de San Martin Catholic Church, 8301 Camino San Martin SW, from 11:30 a.m. until Twelve Noon with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Twelve Noon by Father Anthony Romero. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bennie Joseph Gonzales, James Gonzales, Diego Gonzales, Ray Madrid, Fred Montoya, and Gabe Quinones. HARE -- James (Jim) Erwin Hare, 78, of Lockhart, TX passed away July 19, 2006 at Central Texas Medical Center, San Marcos, TX. Jim served in U.S. Army, received his Bachelor's Degree from University of New Mexico and retired from Sandia Laboratories. He was active in the community and served as Treasurer for Concerned Citizens of Albuquerque. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, a son and daughter of Lockhart, TX. Services were arranged and held at McCurdy Funeral Home, 106 E. Pecan St., Lockhart, TX. 78644. Burial was at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.

HECHTL -- Mary J. Hechtl, 94, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1972, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2006. Mary was born February 27, 1912 the daughter of William J. and Margaret T. Martin Wood in Bronx, NY. She had been an operator with the telephone company before retiring and moving to New Mexico. Mary was a member of the Meadowlark Senior Center, the New York Club, Bridge Club, and both she and her husband, Charles had been members of the Square and Round Dancers for over 30 years. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Charles, in 2001. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated for Mary on Friday, August 25, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Cremation has taken place and her interment will be alongside her beloved husband in Vista Verde Memorial Park. HOWARD -- Viola Belle Howard, 83, went to be with Our Lord on August 23, 2006. She is survived by her husband, Grant; grandson, David and wife, Deborah Brazas of the home; daughter, Melvina Otero of Houston, TX; son, David Howard and family of Anaheim, CA; several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. LECROY-MERCURE -- Annie E. Lecroy-Mercure, 91, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2006. Annie is survived by her daughter, Linda and husband, Lee Ortega of Albuquerque; ten grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and two loving pets. Annie was preceded in death by her two daughters, Margaret Dozier and Bonnie Hall; and her late husband, Alphonse Mercure. LONER -- Richard (Rick) Carl Loner, born June 5, 1955 died Wednesday, August 23, 2006 from liver cancer. Rick was born in Norfolk, VA and moved with his family to Albuquerque at the age of 8. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank; mother, Lucy; and mother-in-law, Mary (Peaches) Martinez. Rick leaves behind his loving wife of 25 years, Therese Martinez-Loner; son, Nick 20, who attends the University of New Mexico; and daughter, Dominique, 8, who is a third grade student at Dennis Chavez Elementary. Rick will be missed by brothers, Frank Jr. and wife, Linda; Joe and wife, Judy Loner; in-laws, Gilbert Martinez, Larry and Robley Martinez, Pat and Richard Marquart, and Anna Marie and John Loughead. He is also survived by 28 nieces, nephews, and godson, Steven Marquart. Rick was a devoted father who was so proud of his children's efforts whether it was athletics, academics, or music. Rick worked in the water and wastewater utility business for about 30 years, starting as a young man and gradually working his way up to sales and management. At the time of his death he was employed at National Waterworks. He truly enjoyed the camaraderie while working with the staff from National and both staff and customers from all over the state of New Mexico will miss his positive attitude. Rick was known for his passion for all kinds of sports including fishing, football, baseball, basketball and golf. Rick loved to camp out with his family to enjoy a fishing trip or to just relax at the lake. He was an avid Packers/Yankees/Lakers/Tiger Woods fan, pick the season and he could tell the stats on his favorite team. Rick had been waiting for a liver transplant and was listed on United Network for Organ Sharing. Complications from cancer ended those plans this summer. It is his and his family's wish that all those who mourn him make the choice to be documented organ donors. For more information on how to become a donor visit UNOS.org. MILLER -- Rosemary Gonzalez Miller died peacefully at home on the evening of August 14, 2006, after bravely facing a recurrence of breast cancer. Her parents, Raymond and Rica Gonzalez preceded her in death. Rosemary is survived by her husband of 41 years, Henry G. Miller; sisters, Kathleen and Theresa Gonzalez; daughter, Eldaa Daily; and her first grandchild, Rosemary Ann Daily. Born in New York City on August 5, 1942, Rosemary moved to Albuquerque with her parents at the age of 7. She was a member of the first graduating class of St. Pius X High School (1960) and graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology. She did her internship in Medical Technology at the Illinois Masonic Hospital in Chicago, IL and worked as Clinical Microbiologist until a few months before her death. Rosemary enjoyed spending time with loved ones, travel, watching classic films, and collecting first editions books about the Southwest. She was a dedicated Newman Center parishioner at the University of New Mexico where she and her husband were married. A Memorial Service will be held at the Center, 1815 Las Lomas, NE, at 10:00 a.m. on September 2, 2006. A private interment will follow on September 5, 2006. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the VistaCare Foundation to assist others facing terminal illness.

MILLS -- Richard E. Mills, 74, a resident of Los Lunas, loving husband, father, and friend, died Tuesday, August 22, 2006. He is survived by the love of his life for 53 years, Josephine Mills; two daughters, Kathy Freed and Darlene Jaramillo and husband, Joseph; stepdaughter, Mary Lou Sorrels and husband, Earl; three grandchildren, Briana, Caleb, and Lauren; step-granddaughter, Angel Marie; two step-great-granddaughters, Safire and Koral; sister, Zelma Tallman; brother, Bob Mills, both of Buckhannon, WV; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Mills was preceded in death by his brother, Howard Mills. He was born March 25, 1932 in Sand Run, WV to Loren Mills and Trecie Tenney Mills. Mr. Mills joined the U.S. Army at the age of 17. He participated in A-Bomb testing at Eniwetok in the Marshall Islands in the South Pacific. Mr. Mills served as a Military Police. He was stationed at Sandia Base in 1951 and that is when he decided to make Albuquerque his home. Mr. Mills was employed at ACF for 14 years then retired from G.E. in 1986 after 28 years. He loved raising cattle and working his two ranches in Mountainair. Mr. and Mrs. Mills enjoyed square dancing, traveling in their RV and spending time with their grandchildren. He enjoyed going to McDonald's in Bosque Farms every morning to have coffee with his buddies and enjoyed playing cards with his friends. He was a devout member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta. Mr. Mills was also a member of Siglo de Oro RV club, American Legion Post #49, and a lifetime Good Sam member. Mr. Mills was a kind gentle loving man who always had a smile on his face and touched the lives of so many people throughout his life. He will be greatly missed, yet held in our hearts and memories forever. POLLMANN -- Alexander Carl Pollmann, 17, of Little Elm, TX, passed away on August 20, 2006. Alex, a gentle and free spirit, was born in Albuquerque, NM, on February 24, 1989. He loved animals, motorcycles, and "all things teenage guys like to do in the outdoors". Alex is survived by his father and mother, Fredrick and Regina Pollmann; sister, Caitlin; and brother, Marcus; and sister, April Davis. He was an adored son and brother, and loyal friend. The family will hold a private Memorial. RIVERA -- Manuel Rivera Jr., age 73, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, was called to his heavenly home by the Lord, Tuesday, August 22, 2006. He was a resident of Bernalillo, where he was a member of the Catholic Church. He enjoyed working with his hand making wood craft items, the outdoors, joking, and dancing. Most people will remember him by the joy he got when he'd do the "Rain Dance". Manuel is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary Rivera of the family home; his children, Manuel Rivera, Michael Anthony Rivera, Rosalinda Alarid, Annamarie Rivera, Debra Calderon and husband, Gonzalo, and Susan Lee Rivera; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Corine Perez, Alice Rivera; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. SASKA -- Tim Saska, 71, a resident of New Mexico since 2003, died Wednesday, August 23, 2006. Born in Dayton, OH, Tim Saska was raised in the small town of Howell, MI. After high school he moved to California and graduated from San Jose State University in 1959 with a BFA. He received an MFA from Columbia University two years later and in 1969 earned an MA in Art History from Indiana University. Following this, he taught for a number of years. Tim devoted himself full time to his painting beginning in 1980 and was Artist in Residence in Lufkin, TX. His forte was large-scale acrylic urban and rural landscape paintings, imparting a luminosity of color that shimmers like outdoor light. Tim Saska said "I am an observer, watching the passing of the seasons and the changes it brings to the landscape." He has shown his work throughout the country; his work is featured in numerous corporate and private collections including those of Amoco, EDS, Methodist Hospital, American General, Citicorp, and Marathon Oil. His paintings are currently shown in the Peterson-Cody Gallery in Santa Fe and the Harris Gallery in Houston. He is survived by his brother, Robert Saska, of Texas; his beloved companion, Joyce Freiwald; and his many friends throughout the country. Of particular note, Tim remained close with many of his high school friends in spite of the years and miles. SPAM -- James E. Spam, 81, passed away August 22, 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and daughter, Gail. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Gloria; daughters, Barbara Boggs and husband, Gary, Joni Ray and husband, Brian; son, James and wife, Ronna; grandchildren, Andrea and husband, James, Jamison, Jordan, Jaden; and great-grandson, Jeremy. He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy; niece, Janis and husband, Paul and their son, Matt. Also his beloved dog, Skippy. We would like to thank the staff at Rio Rancho Care Center, for all their kindness and good care in making his last days more comfortable. We're going to miss his big smile and great sense of humor. We love you and miss you so much. SWARTZ -- JOHN W. Dr. John W. "Doc" Swartz, 92, passed away August 22, 2006 in a Mineral Wells, TX hospital. He was born October 29, 1913 in Monroe, WI, the son of Harry and Pearl Benage Swartz. He had lived in Millsap, TX for the past several years and in Las Cruces, NM prior to that. He was a retired dentist and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Virginia and Wayne Sanderson of Millsap; sister: Mae Swartz of Millsap; granddaughter and husband: Jane and Richard Dews of Billings, MT; and great-grandchildren: Wesley and Allison Dews.

TEUBER -- Ross L. Teuber, 88, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2006 in Sikeston, MO and was born January 28, 1918 in Des Moines, IA, son of Verne L. and Mabel Frances Houghton Teuber. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Drs. Larry R. and Suzanne Teuber of Davis, CA; his daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca Ann and Thomas L. Jennings of Sikeston, MO; four granddaughters, Stephanie and Melissa Teuber of Davis, CA and Katherine and Kimberly Jennings of Sikeston, MO. Mr. Teuber graduated from Iowa State University with a B.S. in Forestry, and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. On October 16, 1942, he married Clara Elizabeth Griffith in Ames, IA, she preceded him in death on April 19, 2004. He was also preceded in death by one brother and three sisters. After his retirement in 1978 he did many hours of volunteer work at Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge and Sevillita National Wildlife Refuge. Mr. Teuber was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday school, was an usher, and was active in the Emmaus Alumni Group. He was very active in the New Mexico Ornithological Society for many years. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2006, 3:00 p.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with Rev. Clyde Stanfield of St. John's United Methodist Church officiating.
