FRESQUEZ -- SOFIA TRUJILLO My Grandma took her last breath on earth, Tuesday, July 18, 2006 and entered the Kingdom of heaven. She died in the comfort of her home with her beloved family at her bedside. She is now with her much loved Mother, Emilia, whom she has missed for many years. She lived a rich and full life. Her wealth was not measured in dollars and cents but in the enormous amount of love that she earned from her family and friends. The fullness of her life was in spite of the many health conditions she had to overcome. She gave love to all those around her. During her life, she cared for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, many great-nieces and -nephews, as well as many neighborhood children. She was known as "Grandma" to many people. She maintained a beautiful home that she was very proud of. She enjoyed sitting on her porch and watching the goings on of the neighborhood. She also loved watering and admiring her outdoor flowers. She was a wonderful cook and baker. She made the most delicious bizcochitos, apple pies, empanaditas, and homemade bread. She was very saddened in recent years because her hands would no longer allow her to make the special treats she loved to share with her family. She always had food to share with any person who came to her home. One of her great joys was playing Bingo. For many years she was a regular at numerous bingo establishments around town. She was quite lucky and she liked to call it "her job." She met many friends through these events. Over the years she was a spectator for many of her great-grandchildren's sporting events, recitals, and plays. She always concluded that "they were the best." In her eyes, they truly were. She enjoyed being silly and always liked to say "let's have a party." She is missed more than words can convey and the loss of her will always be painful, but she is now in a beautiful place where she is no longer in pain and surrounded by her loved ones that have been waiting for her. I love you Grandma.
