ATKEISSON -- Martha Atkeisson, 56, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2007, after a long fight with cancer. She grew up in Torrance, CA where she met her high school sweetheart, "Bubba" Atkeisson, and married him at 20. Before adopting children, Martha mastered her hobbies of sewing, decorating, and cooking. She and her husband spent many years traveling and moving around the West to finally reside in Albuquerque, NM where she worked in the airline industry for many years. They adopted three children, and she loved being involved and supporting them in all of their activities. She was involved in her church community, where she spent time cooking for the homeless, helping the sick, and organizing church gatherings. Her survivors are her husband of 35 years, Bubba Atkeisson; daughter, Tara Sloan, son-in-law, Chad Sloan, and sons, Michael and Adam. She had one grandson, Isaiah whom she adored. "She was someone I feel privileged to have been blessed with. The most humble, selfless person I have ever met a true inspiration and role model" said daughter, Tara. Her husband is working on learning how to clean, cook, and shop for bargains as she did for him for many years. The Services will be held at John XXIII on Thursday, July, 20, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. She will be missed and is very much loved by her family and community.

BACA -- Barbarita C. Baca, 82, a life-long resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2006 surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Baca, Sr. and granddaughter, Arlene Peralta. She is survived by her daughter, Flora Silva; sons, Daniel Baca, Jr. and wife, Frances, Michael Baca and wife, Virginia, and Victor P. Baca and wife, Rita; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons, David Griego, Rudy Griego, Eric Baca, Victor Isaac Baca, Carlos Anthony Baca, and Richard Trujillo. Rosary will be recited Thursday, July 20, 2006, 7:00 p.m. at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. CROWSON -- Josephine A. Crowson, age 83, a resident of Peralta, NM, peacefully joined Our Lord and Savior on Monday, July 17, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a member of the Valley Church of Christ in Los Lunas, NM. Jo was a longtime member of the NM Fiddlers Association and was inducted into the NM Fiddlers Hall of Fame for her accomplishments as a guitarist. Her family was her heart and soul and her loving nature not only drew her family together but also many neighbors and friends who all loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin in 2004; and by several loving family members. She is survived by her children, Janice LaVerne Lomax of Peralta, William Monty Crowson and his wife, Olga of Edinburg, TX, Helen Wellborn and her husband, Jack of Mississippi, Jeanne Iddings of Roseville, CA, Alvin William Jones and his wife, Susan, Patricia Clover and her husband, Mike, all of Vancouver, WA; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Davis of Salinas, CA, and Lillian Rea of Raton, NM; and one brother, Johnny Cervo of Grand Junction, CO. Jo is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. EADS -- JANETTE LORRAINE PACHECO Daughter, sister, mother, grandmother. Jeanette Lorraine Pacheco Eads died peacefully on July 13, 2006 after struggling with a long illness. Born December 31, 1951, the oldest of five, she is survived by her mother; Carmen Alvarez; sister, Maria Elena Alvarez-Luk; brothers, Jesse and Frank Molinar; children, Micah Alvarez, Jessica Mestas, James and Jordan Eads, Destiny Molinar; and three grandchildren, Isaiah Mestas, Luke Mestas, and Ethan Eads. Rosary will be held at the Nativity of the Blessed Mary Virgin Church on 4th and Alameda on Friday, July 21, 2006 at 8:00 a.m., followed by Mass at 9:00 a.m., Father Juan Mendez officiating. HOWARD -- Dorothy L. Howard, 84, a resident of Albuquerque, since 1991, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Flois, on September 18, 2003. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Lynda Howard; her son, Thomas, both of Albuquerque; a granddaughter, Jessie L. Howard of Taos; her sister, Doris First of Hemet, CA; a sister-in-law, June Crites of San Diego, CA; and various other family members. She was born November 14, 1921 in Burlington, CO. Dorothy moved with her family during her early teen years to California where she was raised. She met her future husband, Flois, after his return from military service in World War II. They married on February 11, 1946 and lived in Texas for the next 46 years. Dorothy was very active in the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Daughters of the Nile; Dorothy was a life member of the American Ex-Prisoners of War, and the DAV. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 21, 2006 in the Chester T. MARTIN -- Carolyn Sue Martin, 56, a resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, July 17, 2006. She is survived by her mother, A. Jean Martin of Denver, CO; twin sister, Cheryl Glauner of Albuquerque; brothers, Rod Martin and wife, Alice of Denver, CO and Dr. Creston Martin and wife, Bonnie of Minnesota; and seven nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Jazzy. Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, W. Carroll Martin in 1999. She retired from Qwest in 2001 with 30 years of dedicated service. Carolyn was a member of the Sisterhood of the Birthday Club, the Scrub Club, and was a loyal and dedicated balloon crew member of "You Buy, I Fly II." She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Carolyn will be deeply missed. PADILLA -- Mary Esther Padilla, 56, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, July 17, 2006. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Josephine Padilla. Mary Esther is survived by her sisters, Helen Barela and husband, Larry, Martha Padilla-Garcia and husband, Juan and Barbara Padilla; brother, Ernest Padilla Jr. and wife, Gloria; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. At an early age she volunteered her services at Casa Angelica and later retired after 20 years of service at Presbyterian Hospital. RISSMANN -- Else Rissmann, 78, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1969, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2006. Else was born January 18, 1928 in Nuernberg, Germany. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry Rissmann. Else is survived by one cousin and many dear friends who all feel blessed to have had Else in their lives. Else had an amazing and adventure filled life. ROBERTS -- Betty Jo Roberts, 79, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, died peacefully at home on Friday, July 14, 2006, surrounded by her family. Betty was born September 6, 1926, in Dalhart, TX, the youngest of eight, to the late Robert Spencer and Annis Seward Harrell. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy Harrell, Willis Harrell and W.O. Harrell: and two sisters, Fern Kelly and Gerry Allison. Betty married Fred C. Roberts on February 21, 1948 in Clovis, NM. She was a wonderful homemaker, a talented seamstress, and had a knack for decorating, which was evident in their home of 58 years. She won an award from the Ladies Home Journal, "Room Makeover Contest" in 1996. Betty was a devoted member of the Netherwood Park Church of Christ for 50 years and was the church secretary for 23 of those years. She loved her church family, and God was the focus of her life. Her ultimate goal was to pass her love of God to her husband, children, and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Fred C. Roberts; and their three daughters and families: Debbie, Dave, Alex, and Taylor Camp of Garland, TX; Cyndi, John, Steele Nash, and Madison Wells of Anaheim, CA; and Marcee, Wayne, Brandon, Chase, and Mackenzie Moss of Albuquerque, NM. She is also survived by two sisters, Glen Ray Thompson of Clovis, NM and Marilyn and husband, Dr. Mario DiNello of Denton, TX; one brother-in-law, Jimmy Allison of Clovis, NM; two sisters-in-law, Verna South of N. Little Rock, AR and Tootsie and husband, Swain Rodgers of Lubbock, TX; and many nieces and nephews. ROYBAL -- Diana T. Roybal, 66, went to be with our Lord, July 15, 2006 after a short battle with cancer. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Diana was preceded in death by her father, Manuel Roybal. She is survived by her mother, Carolyn Roybal; her three daughters, Lorie Padilla and husband, Brian, LaVerne Roybal, Lanette Jaramillo and husband, Antonio; her son, Larry Roybal; eight grandchildren, Cameron, Kyler, David, Amarante, Christopher, Nathan, Joshua, and Matthew; three sisters, Arabel Craig and husband, Toby, Geraldine Gonzales, Maxine Bononcini and husband, Eddie; brother, Manuel "Sonny" Roybal and his companion, Christine Ewers; and nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Diana was born in Dixon, NM where she spent the majority of her childhood. She then moved to Albuquerque where she spent the rest of her life. She recently retired after working for 20 years at the University Hospital Hospitality Center as a dietary assistant. Diana was a devout member of Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church where she volunteered and served her community. SANCHEZ -- Arcino "Archie" Sanchez, age 81 and a native New Mexican, died on Friday July 14, 2006 in a local hospital following an illness. Mr. Sanchez is survived by his wife, Vivian Bourguignon Sanchez; three sons: John Sanchez and wife, Terry, Robert Sanchez, and Michael Sanchez and wife, Maxine; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four sisters: Susie Baca, Becky Chavez and husband, Joe, Olivia Castillo, Romona Anaya and husband, Mon; one brother, Richard Sanchez and wife, Frances; one brother-in-law, Gabby Gabaldon; three step-children: Sandra Serna, Marie Sullivan, and George Bourguignon; eight step-grandchildren; and 14 step-great-grandchildren; and many loving brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law from the Garcia and Jojola families; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Archie was preceded in death by his first wife, Rita Garcia Sanchez; his parents, Celso and Julanita Sanchez; and a sister, Pauline Gabaldon. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. He retired from the Santa Fe Railroad after thirty years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th degree, American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed fishing and bowling. Viewing and visitation will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2006 from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. with a rosary to follow in St. Anne's Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW. He was a young entrepreneur, starting an online business. He took great appreciation in being a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
