BERQUIST -- Shirley Mary Berquist, age 70, left Earth on July 17, 2006 to be with Walt, Betty, her parents, and many friends in heaven. We knew that morning, that God was going to call your name, in life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone; for part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love and laughter is still our guide; and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. GUERRERO -- Jonathan D. Guerrero, age 22, of Albuquerque, beloved son and brother and friend, passed away Friday, July 14 2006. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at All Nations Assembly of God, 1119 Menaul NW, with cremation to follow. LOCKHART -- Bernice Lorraine Lockhart, age 91, a resident of Belen, NM, passed away on July 15, 2006. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church. Bernice was born on a ranch near Capitan, NM to the late, Thomas and Tennesse Weldy. As a teenager she moved to Roswell, NM. Bernice married Leo E. Lockhart in 1933. They lived in Roswell until 1953, in Artesia from 1953 to 1976 and then moved to Belen in 1976. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Leo E. Lockhart in 1983; eight siblings; a son-in-law, Kenneth W. Tibbetts; grandson, Jimmie Lockhart; and a granddaughter, Lisa Lockhart. Bernice is survived by her daughter, Billie Tibbetts; son, Jackie D. Lockhart and wife, Vanda; daughter, Darlene Hall and husband, Dean; ten grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held at New Life Fellowship Church in Belen on New Life Way, on Tuesday, July 18, 2006 beginning with a visitation at 1:30 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Terrace Grove Cemetery. LUCERO -- Estella Lucero, 82, a lifelong resident of Corrales, died on Saturday. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Arneldo and her son, Arthur Lucero. Mrs. Lucero is survived by one son: Harold Lucero and wife, Cheryl; six brothers and seven sisters; seven grandchildren: Isaac, Jarrod, Dominic, Erica and husband, Manuel; Letisha, Shalayna, ShaRay and one great-granddaughter, Juliana. LUCERO -- Fabiola De Jesus Lucero, age 76, passed away Friday, July 14, 2006. She was preceded on death by her parents, Joaquin and Aurelia Garduno; brothers, Amabe Garduno and Gerry Garduno and her husband, Leandro R. Lucero. Fabiola is survived by five children, Luana Carabajal and husband, Dale, Louisa Lucero, Leandro Lucero Jr. and Bobbie, Lionel Lucero, Lorenzo Lucero and wife, Cynthia Jean; two sisters, Mela Lucero and husband, Benny, Florence Gonzales and husband, Jimmy; two brothers, Alex Garduno and Abelino Garduno and wife, Adela; grandchildren, Leonard Lucero and wife, Chrise, Casey Lucero, Corey Lucero, the twins, Addison and Cayden Lucero; one great-granddaughter, Alonna Lucero; in-laws, Pete Lucero and wife, Bessie, Consuelo Meyer and husband, Julius, Julian Lucero and wife, Margie, Fred Lucero and wife, D'Aun; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. LUCERO -- Felicitas Torres Lucero, 90, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, July 16, 2006. She is survived by her children: Phil Lucero and wife, Theresa, Leonard Lucero and wife, Charlotte, Dulivina Lopez and husband, Manuel, Ramon Lucero and wife, Carla, Delora Cordova and husband, Joe, Lillian Lucero and husband, Rick Wiegert, Leroy Lucero and life partner, Guy Dameron, and Gabriel Lucero and Deborah Lucero; 24 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; sister, Lena Vigil; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Augustine Lucero in 1988; daughters, Beatriz Eufemia, Pablita Olivia, Flora and Margarita Maria Benavidez; sons, Delfinio, Marcos, and Elizardo Randolph Lucero; parents, Flavio Torres and Mercedes Montoya Torres; and siblings, Delia Trujillo, Lugarda Torres, Pedro Torres, Antonia Garley, and Cipriana Torres. Felicitas was born on February 19, 1916 in Torreon, NM. She married Juan Augustine Lucero on January 13, 1936, and they moved to the Barelas Neighborhood in Albuquerque in the 1940s when he got a job with the Santa Fe Railroad. They were both members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for many years. At the time of her death, she was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Felicitas was a very loving and caring person. She was a praying woman and devoted Catholic whose religion was very important to her. Felicitas was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. MARTIN -- Carolyn Sue Martin, 56, a resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, July 17, 2006. She is survived by her mother, A. Jean Martin of Denver, CO; twin sister, Cheryl Glauner of Albuquerque; brothers, Rod Martin and wife, Alice of Denver, CO and Dr. Creston Martin and wife, Bonnie of Minnesota; and seven nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Jazzy. Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, W. Carroll Martin in 1999. She retired from Qwest in 2001 with 30 years of dedicated serviced. Carolyn was a member of the Sisterhood of the Birthday Club, the Scrub Club, and was a loyal and dedicated balloon crew member of "You Buy, I Fly II." She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Carolyn will be deeply missed. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held Thursday, 9:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. MARTINEZ -- Severo Martinez, 90, was welcomed into the arms of our dear Lord Jesus on Sunday, July 16, 2006 surrounded by his loving family and friends. Severo was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary, and is survived by his daughters, Leonor (Norie) Martinez, Kate Martinez and companion, Jose Marquez, Rebecca Martinez; and son, Severo Vincent Martinez and wife, Amy. He had five grandchildren that he adored, David St. James, Severo William, Megan, Ashley, and Natalie Martinez. He is also survived by his brother, Conrad Rivera and wife, Eva; sister, Cordy Conley; his companion and friend, Dolores Sullivan; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosenda Gallegos; brothers, Manuel and Pat Martinez, Antonio A Rivera II, and Mario Rivera. He was born May 7, 1916 in Chama, NM. Growing up in Chama, Taos, and El Rito, he gained a great love and appreciation for the great outdoors and the beauty of Northern New Mexico. He loved to fish in the small streams of the North and hunt dear, elk, and grouse. Severo was a proud veteran of World War II where he served with the 58th Quartermaster Battalion in Europe and in the South Pacific. He was recalled to federal service as a member of the New Mexico National Guard during the Korean Conflict. As a forward observer he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. After release from federal service Severo remained in the New Mexico National Guard until his retirement at the rank of Major. Severo was always very proud of the men he served within the National Guard and loved them dearly. Severo was employed with the Employment Security Commission (DOL) for 39 years. His faithful and dedicated service to that agency as Manager and District Supervisor assisted many New Mexico Veterans and citizens to obtain employment and helped start many careers. Severo is a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a life member and charter member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Patrick Hurley Chapter. A life member of the American Legion, and the Santa Fe Elks Club #460. Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at 7 p.m. at St. John that Baptist Catholic Church on Osage Ave. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at 9 a.m. at St. John that Baptist Catholic Church on Osage Ave. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:00 p.m. Pallbearers are; Severo William Martinez, David St. James, Manual A. Martinez, Donald P. Martinez, Antonio A. Rivera III, and David James Turner. MAURO -- Ronald Dr. Ronald Mauro, DVM, 71, a resident of El Guique, NM, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2006 following a short illness. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Philip R. and Dorothy M. Mauro. Ron was raised in Ojo Caliente, NM. He graduated from New Mexico State University and received a degree in veterinary medicine from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. He practiced as a veterinarian in the Espanola Valley for 52 years. He was a charter member and executive board member of the Santa Fe Emergency Animal clinic, and is past president of the New Mexico Veterinary Medical Association. In his free time, he enjoyed growing tomatoes, making furniture, and fishing in Alaska. He is survived by his sister, Phyllis Conrad and husband, Duane of Albuquerque; brother, Mike Mauro and companion, Angelina Trujillo of El Guique; companion, Barbara Sailors of Santa Fe; nieces and nephews, Lynn and Bill Leninger, Don Conrad, Mariah Mauro, and Grace Leninger; uncles, George Mauro and wife, Ann of Albuquerque, Al Pospahala of Boulder, CO, John Pospahala and wife, Wanda of Dallas, TX; aunt, Josephine Kopine and daughter, Rosalie of Denver, CO; and very close family friend, Benjie Stone of Santa Clara Pueblo. ROYBAL -- Diana T. Roybal, 66, went to be with our Lord, July 15, 2006 after a short battle with cancer. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Diana was preceded in death by her father, Manuel Roybal. She is survived by her mother, Carolyn Roybal; her three daughters, Lorie Padilla and husband, Brian, LaVerne Roybal, Lanette Jaramillo and husband, Antonio; her son, Larry Roybal; eight grandchildren, Cameron, Kyler, David, Amarante, Christopher, Nathan, Joshua, and Matthew; three sisters, Arabel Craig and husband, Toby, Geraldine Gonzales, Maxine Bononcini and husband, Eddie; brother, Manuel "Sonny" Roybal and his companion, Christine Ewers; and nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Diana was born in Dixon, NM where she spent the majority of her childhood. She then moved to Albuquerque where she spent the rest of her life. She recently retired after working for 20 years at the University Hospital Hospitality Center as a dietary assistant. Diana was a devout member of Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church where she volunteered and served her community. SANCHEZ -- Arcino "Archie" Sanchez, age 81 and a native New Mexican, died on Friday July 14, 2006 in a local hospital following an illness. Mr. Sanchez is survived by his wife, Vivian Bourguignon Sanchez; three sons: John Sanchez and wife, Terry, Robert Sanchez, and Michael Sanchez and wife, Maxine; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four sisters: Susie Baca, Becky Chavez and husband, Joe, Olivia Castillo, Romona Anaya and husband, Mon; one brother, Richard Sanchez and wife, Frances; one brother-in-law, Gabby Gabaldon; three step-children: Sandra Serna, Marie Sullivan, and George Bourguignon; eight step-grandchildren; and 14 step-great-grandchildren; and many loving brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law from the Garcia and Jojola families; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Archie was preceded in death by his first wife, Rita Garcia Sanchez; his parents, Celso and Julanita Sanchez; and a sister, Pauline Gabaldon. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. He retired from the Santa Fe Railroad after thirty years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th degree, American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed fishing and bowling. Viewing and visitation will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2006 from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. with a rosary to follow in St. Anne's Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW. He was a young entrepreneur, starting an online business. He took great appreciation in being a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
