ALONZO -- Jon Robert Alonzo died May 31, 2006. He is survived by his father, Fritz Alonzo; by his children: Tiffany, Christopher, Brittany, and Jonathon; and Jon's close friend, Leta Salazar of Chimayo. Jon is brother to Richard and his two sisters are Jacqueline and Marie Catherine. Jon will be remembered by his many relatives in Albuquerque and at Isleta and Laguna Pueblos. Other close relatives reside in Indiana and Kentucky. Jon was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping out; but he enjoyed most the simple things in life. His kind, gentle and mild manners will be greatly missed. Jon was preceded in death by his mother (on November 19, 2005). Jon helped with her care and feeding during the 11 years of her disability after her stroke. Jon kept her smiling with his wonderful sense of humor. Jon's Memorial Service will be June 24, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Queen of Angels Chapel, 12th and I-40. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the church.

BACA -- Eloy Vicente Baca, born September 6, 1920 in Belen, NM,went to be with the Lord June 20, 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tranquilino and Antonia Baca; a brother, Gillie; and a sister, Elsie. Eloy served in the Army as an MP during World War II. After the war he moved to Los Angeles where he owned a business. Upon his return to Albuquerque, he was cared for by his devoted brother, Gillie. He is survived by his brother, Dennis; sisters, Dolores Armijo, and Ada and husband, Charles Chavez; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Miguel Lueras, Donald Armijo, Richard Petersen, Charles Chavez, Craig Chavez and Drew Chavez. Honorary pallbearer will be Daniel Rios. A Rosary for Mr. Baca will be recited on Thursday evening, June 22, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 23, 2006 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. BACA -- VIOLA B. Mrs. Viola B. Baca, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away at home June 20, 2006 where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Leroy Barboa. She passed away surrounded by her family following a long illness. Our beloved mother, Viola Baca, has left us and is now on her new journey with the Lord. Viola was preceded in death by her parents, Candido and Nicanora Baca; her loving and husband of 64 years, Andres G. Baca who passed away on December 28, 2004; her brother, Liberato Baca; a sister, Clorinda Serna; daughters, Gloria Baca and Gloria B. Turner; and a grandson, Rickie Barboa. Viola is survived by her five children, Candido Baca and wife, Jackie, Theresa Barboa and husband, Leroy, Andy Baca Jr., and wife, Connie of T. or C., Ernestina Baca, Lawrence Baca and wife, Terri; a brother, Ray Baca and wife, Delfinia; a sister-in-law, Lydia Baca; 16 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Viola was a member of the Catholic Church. Visitaiton for Viola will be Thursday evening in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Gabriella Nieto. Final visitation will be Friday afternoon from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Joseph Pl. NW, with a Communion Service to be held at 1:00 p.m. by Deacon Jerry Hieptas. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Andres G. BAKER -- Samuel M. Baker, Jr. 77, of Tucson, AZ, passed away peacefully June 14, 2006 after a long battle with cancer. Sam, the fifth of 8 children, was born on September 29, 1928 in Ft. Worth, TX. Continuing in a proud family tradition he became a fifth generation master stonemason and bricklayer. Sam's 50-year career in construction included projects in Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, and Arizona. He and Marj retired to Possum Kingdom Lake in Texas and traveled extensively in their RV visiting family and friends around the country. They spent winters with their son Steve and his wife Kathy, eventually moving to Tucson in 1998. Although officially retired, Sam continued to enjoy pointing his "superintendent finger", directing three generations of his descendents in joint projects such as extensive BBQ complexes. Sam is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marjorie L. Baker (nee Lomax); son, S. Steven, DC (Kathy) of Tucson; daughter, Jacque (Mark) Matanis of Albuquerque, NM; son, Timothy (Mary) of Weatherford, TX; son, Duane of Tucson; brother, William (Elizabeth) of Weatherford; sister, Louise O'Leary Ft. Worth; sister, Betty (James) Heaslet Weatherford; sister, Doris Palmer Mineral Wells; as well as 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. CHAVEZ -- John J. Chavez was born February 8, 1927. Our father, grandfather, uncle, friend, and beloved husband to Mela, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, June 21, 2006, to be with our Lord and Savior. He left us in the presence and in the loving arms of his son, John Michael, and his wife, Mela. John served his country in World War II, with honor. John joins his parents, Juan and Lucia; his siblings; his sister-in-law, Flora Vau; and grandson, John Michael Chavez Jr. John deeply loved his children and grandchildren, and he leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years, Mela; his sons, John Michael Sr. and wife, Diane, Stan, Ken and his wife Lorraine, Mark and his wife, Doretta; his grandchildren, Andrea Chavez, Lori Bottom, Darlene Martinez, Veronica Chavez, Gabrielle Chavez, and Giselle Chavez; his great-grandchildren, Naomi Jiron, Alyssa Martinez, Derryke Jiron, Martin Chavez, Orion Bottom, and Andre Martinez. FLOWERS -- WILLIAM V. Lt. Colonel William V. Flowers, USAF Retired, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2006. He was a resident of New Mexico for approximately 25 years. He is survived by his wife, Edith Morgan Flowers of the family home; daughter, Tonya Cutler of Killeen, TX; step-son, Dr. Clifford O. Morgan, and wife, Elizabeth, of Los Lunas, NM; grandchildren, Cara Morgan of Mesa, AZ, Kayla Morgan of Los Lunas, Rand Morgan and wife, Marilee, of Rio Rancho, Jeffrey Lavelle, C.J. Gentry, and Taylor Cutler and husband, Charles, all of Killeen, TX; great-grandchildren, Emma Morgan of Rio Rancho and Shennon Morgan of Albuquerque; and nephew, Captain Alden Woolley. After high school, Bill attended Tulane University on a football scholarship, majoring in medicine. At that time he learned to fly an airplane and earned his Pilot's License. Therefore, when WWII was declared he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. Bill was first stationed in England and made 46 combat missions over Germany in his beloved B-26 airplane. During his 27 and a half years of active military service he earned his Senior Pilot's rating flying cargo all over the world. Bill faithfully participated in three wars, WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He was a member of the WWII "Great Generation" that pulled America out of the depths of the depression, defeated Hitler, Mussolini, and Imperial Japan, and halted the expansion of Communism around the world. Bill was a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies of free Masonry. He received his 32 Scottish Rite Degree on November 3, 1963 in Paris, France. Bill became an avid golfer and after retirement he was a golf instructor at Lackland AFB. He established his own workshop repairing and making golf clubs. Bill was also an active sportsman in all kinds of sports, such as hunting and fishing. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, VFW, and American Legion. Bill enjoyed the fellowship he had with the Eastern Hills Baptist Church. Services will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the Eastern Hills Baptist Church, 3100 Morris NE, with Pastor Larry Miller officiating. GARCIA -- Robert R. Garcia "Boogie" was born March 3, 1949. He passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2006. Robert is survived by his wife of 37 years, Gigette Theresa of Bernalillo, NM; three daughters, Gigette M. Nieto and husband, Joe of Algodones, NM, Shelley D. GASTON -- G. Irvin "Jeep" Gaston passed from this earth on the afternoon of Friday, June 16, 2006. Jeep is survived by his wife, Caroline, of 54 years; son, Richard; daughter, Annie; two grandsons, William, 3; and Matthew, 1. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Henry Gaston and Lydia Gaston; and three siblings, William, Patsy, and DeVera. Jeep was born on August 6, 1928, in Kansas City, KS. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1948. He earned his BA in Math Education from the University of Kansas in 1951, and he received his MA in Statistics from KU in 1952. For two years he served as a teacher of Mathematics and Science in the Etna, CA public schools. During four summers in the early fifties, Jeep worked as the Director of Youth Programs for the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, CO, where he and Caroline developed a love of the mountains, and made many lifelong friends. This experience also began his long-term career involvement with the YMCA. Jeep served as a YMCA Director first in Fort Worth, TX, from 1955 to 1970, then as the Executive Director of the Albuquerque YMCAs from 1970 to 1982. He next capitalized on his lifelong love of travel by starting his own travel service "Tour New Mexico" in 1983. From 1984 to 1994, he drew on fundraising skills he had developed at the YMCA, engaging in development work for non-profit organizations around the country with Jerold Panas and Associates. Throughout his life in Albuquerque, Jeep was an active Rotarian, embodying the group's mission: "Service Above Self." He was the songleader and played Santa for the club for many years. Jeep also led a Group Study Exchange trip for Rotary to Brazil. He served on the Albuquerque Academy Board of Trustees for a number of years. In his later years, Jeep took up painting, and he and Caroline enjoyed many international and domestic travel adventures together. Jeep loved to learn, read, hike, eat well, take photos, talk with people, tell stories, sing, laugh, and have fun. He lived life fully in this world, while knowing he lives finally in God's Kingdom. He loved his family and was beloved by his family, which includes many sons and daughters who adopted him. Jeep showed us what it means to serve the Lord. A Memorial Service will be held celebrating the God-blessed life of Jeep Gaston at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, on Friday, June 23, 2006, at 3:30 p.m. A reception will follow at the home of longtime friends of the family. GILL -- Herbert Gill, 81, a resident of Albuquerque passed from this life on Tuesday, June 20, 2006. He was born and raised in eastern Oklahoma. Gill was a decorated WWII Army veteran. He owned and operated Cimarron Trucking Co. until his retirement in 1986. Gill was an avid pilot and flew at every opportunity. Gill married Alberta Mae Hicks in Poteau, OK in 1948; she survives him. KEENEY -- Sharon M. Keeney, beloved wife of Denis Keeney of Los Lunas, NM passed away on Monday, June 19, 2006. A graduate of Los Lunas High School, she spent most of her life in Los Lunas. She was an administrative assistant to Hugh and Tom Horne, Attorneys at Law for 25 years, Personal Banker, Wells Fargo Bank 13 years, and most recently a Client Services Representative for Social Security Administration in Albuquerque. Her love for family and friends, contagious laughter, and kindness to others is her legacy. Her vast talents and interest included western art, music, dance, writing poetry, making crafts and interior design. She is survived by Denis Keeney, her loving husband of 30 years; two step-daughters, Sherry Ochoa and Shannon Keeney; four grandchildren, Joshua, Dylan, Brooke and Jessica; cousins, Tom and Annette Buckley of Sheridan, WY; and the hundreds of friends who loved her. Mrs. Keeney was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and "Curly" Carlton and brother, Jim Carlton. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and in fulfillment of her dream, her husband will take her to Wyoming for interment. LANE -- Mary Lane March 24, 1911 - June 15, 2006 Mary A. Lane, 95, of St. Cloud, MN, died June 15, 2006 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Mary was born March 24, 1911 in Portland, NY to Maria and Luciano Mangio. She married Edward Lane on May 21, 1930 in Columbus, OH. They lived in Columbus until 1945, then in Albuquerque, NM for 50 years, and after 1995 in St. Cloud at St. Benedict's Senior Community. Edward died February 12, 2000. Survivors include her son, Ronald Lane of St. Cloud; five grandchildren (Kevin, Christopher, Maria, and Gregory LaNave, and Alan Lane); and five great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Sanese and Nita Bianchetti and brother, Frank Mangio. Memorial Services are planned at St. Benedict's Senior Community, 1810 Minnesota Blvd. SE, St. Cloud, MN later in the summer.

LARKIN -- GEN Mary Genevieve Larkin died peacefully at home in Palm Desert, CA on June 14, 2006. She was born to Jeremiah and Jane McCarthy September 29, 1921 in Providence, RI. She graduated with a business degree from Bryant College. On May 5, 1945, she married Harold V. Larkin in Providence. After living in Albuquerque, NM for forty-five years, Gen and Hal moved to Palm Desert. Gen is survived by three children: daughter, Jane Larkin and husband, Nick De Lipski of Vancouver, WA, daughter, Mary of California, and son, Peter and wife, Mary of Albuquerque. She is also survived by her sister, Marion Rooney and husband, Bill of Naragansit, RI. Gen's husband, Hal, preceded her in death on March 29, 2001. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, June 24, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Burial will be at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM.

OUELLETTE -- Roger R. Ouellette, 64, of Great Falls, MT, died on Friday, June 16, 2006 at Benefis Hospital due to complications from lung cancer. His Funeral Mass will be held at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel, Malmstrom AFB, on Thursday, June 22, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. He was born in Lewiston, ME on June 1, 1942, son of Roland and Irene (Bouffard) Ouellette. He was educated in Lewiston public schools and completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Vocational Educational Studies and a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling Services in 1989 and 1991 respectively. He entered the U.S. Air Force in May 1961 at Lackland AFB, TX and served over 22 years honorably and decorated at a variety of locations around the world to include Vietnam, Japan, Korea, Belgium, and England in the ground radio and communications field culminating as a communications non-commissioned officer in charge upon his retirement in 1983 as a Master Sergeant. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe parish at Malmstrom Air Force Base. He enjoyed officiating for softball and baseball and tinkering with computers. Roger is survived by his wife of Great Falls, the former Marcia J. Bleskin, whom he married on September 26, 1964; three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Allison Ouellette of Spokane, WA, Roger Jr. and Cindie Ouellette of Shreveport, LA, and Greg and Kristi Ouellette of Norfolk, VA; seven grandchildren, Morgan, Sarah, Renee, Drew, Emily, Ryan, and Bailey; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Connie and Jack of Yarmouth, ME, Claudette and Loring of Deer Isle, ME; and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Conrad and Carol of Greeley, CO, Mickey and Carol of Billerica, MA, and Ronnie and Val of Lewiston, ME; and numerous nieces and nephews. PARR -- Katherine Amelia Parr, age 71, beloved Mom, Grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, June 20, 2006 of pancreatic cancer. She is survived by her ex-husband and best friend, Tom Parr of Albuquerque; and her daughters, Deb Werenko of Santa Fe, Liza Kerr and partner, Kerry of Albuquerque, Mary Sanchez and husband, Patrick of Las Cruces, Cyndi Vandi and husband, Mark of Los Lunas; and her son, Tom Parr of Albuquerque; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Kathy was a devoted mother, friend, mentor, and teacher to many. Kathy was born in Hollywood, CA, but moved to New Mexico when she was 15 years old. She graduated from St. Mary's High School where she met several life-long friends. She taught school for a total of thirty-four years at St. Charles Catholic School, Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School, and most recently at Washington Middle School where she retired two years ago. She will be deeply missed and remembered lovingly by her friends and family. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Presbyterian Hospice, especially Barbara Burchard and Dr. Lawson. Special thanks also goes to Jessica Kerr, her granddaughter, who showed complete devotion throughout her illness, and was an example to us all. PETRONIS -- Beth Petronis. From her birth on July 31, 1949, in Atlantic City, NJ, to her death on June 16, 2006, Beth had a wonderful life and was blessed with caring family, friends, and pets. As the daughter of a hotel manager, she grew up sharing daily adventures with her beloved sister, Nancy, and dog, Lucky at the Emerald Beach Hotel in Nassau, Bahamas, and the Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, WV. Later she majored in Biology at Gettysburg College, PA, where she met John Petronis. The two married on May 29, 1971 and settled in Albuquerque after falling in love with the city on a cross-country driving tour. Beth first worked for the University of New Mexico, where she also earned an MBA, and later worked for the Public Service Company of New Mexico. She and John founded Architectural Research Consultants in 1976, where Beth served as chief financial officer until her death. Beth was especially proud of her dearly loved children, daughter, Lexi; and son, John; both of Albuquerque. Beth found her passion in volunteering for animal rescue groups and private rescue operations, finding homes for strays, and helping reunite animals displaced by Hurricane Katrina with their owners. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy H. Keenan; and father, Wesler T. Keenan of West Virginia. She is survived by her husband, John P. Petronis; her children; her sister, Nancy K. Alcorn; her many cherished nieces and nephews; and lifelong friends, Susan C. Murphy and Lynne Page C. Rasmussen. "To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die." For Beth, those hearts include her friends and family and the many stray and abandoned animals she cared for over the years. A Memorial Celebration of Beth's life will be held Friday, June 23, 2006, 10:00 a.m., at Casa Rondena Winery, 733 Chavez Rd. NW. PINKSTON -- James Kelly Pinkston, 41, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2006, at his home. Kelly is survived by his wife, Lynette, of the family home; daughter, Nancille; son, Christopher Pinkston; step-daughter, Mila Stublefield; his parents, Kelton and Darra (Cassano) Pinkston; his second set of parents, his special father, Wade, and Mary Lou Scott; two sisters, Nancille, and husband, Rob Daniel; Melody, and husband, Tony Dalton, both of Albuquerque; half-sister, Karesa Roberts, of Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kelly is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe Cassano and Mildred Myers, and Ruby and Horace Pinkston. He was born on March 19, 1965, in Belen, NM. Kelly married Lynette Stublefield on June 25, 2005, in Albuquerque, NM. He retired from Albuquerque Fire Department in 1992, and went into law enforcement focusing on security. He graduated with an honors degree from Pima Medical Institute as a Pharmacy Technician. After graduation Kelly worked for Express Scripts in Albuquerque. He then began teaching at Apollo College for Pharmacy Technicians for one year. Kelly became a BLS/ CPR instructor for the University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus. He started a business with his wife in Career Training Services. He also trained and worked with the Meadowlake Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing and remodeling homes. Kelly was an excellent cook, and loved spending time working on his garden and designing outdoor landscaping. He loved working with aquariums and enjoyed working with his own show dogs. Kelly excelled in everything he put his hand to and perfected everything he touched. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 23, 2006, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, with Pastor John Ross officiating. ROGERS -- Herschel Wade Rogers passed away Monday, June 19, 2006 following an extended illness. He was born December 15, 1926 in Stamps, Arkansas, the only child of B. Hayes and Urah Rogers. Herschel served in the Navy from April 1945 to July 1946. He attended Magnolia A & M and Oklahoma A & M graduating in May 1950 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Following graduation he was employed at Boeing in Wichita, Kansas, for one year. He moved to Albuquerque in 1951 and was employed at Sandia National Laboratory until retirement in 1991. Herschel and Mary Frances Barrington were married in May of 1949. He is survived by their children, Larry Rogers, John Rogers and wife, Sharon, Patricia Rogers-Dale and husband, Bruce Dale, all of Albuquerque, and five grandchildren. He is also survived by Rosemary, his wife of 34 years and step-children, Sandra Kelly and husband, Carl of Bloomfield, NM, Jeff Olson of Dallas, TX, and James Olson of Loma Linda, CA; seven step-grandchildren; and ten step-great-grandchildren; and a special family friend, Renee Olson. Herschel was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church and the AM Sunday school Class. He is remembered for his fountain of trivia, his quick wit, and unfailing honesty. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2006 at St. John's United Methodist Church, 2626 Arizona NE, with Rev. David Edwards officiating. SANCHEZ -- Josie A. Sanchez, a resident of Southwest Albuquerque since 1937, passed away peacefully in her home, among her loved ones, on Monday, June 19, 2006. SANCHEZ -- MARY NINA Mrs. Mary Nina Sanchez, 98, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on June 18, 2006. Mrs. Sanchez is the beloved mother to Elsie Davis, Monie Sanchez and wife, Susie and Martin Sanchez. She is also survived by one sister, Celina Cordova; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Matias Sanchez and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Gonzales. Mrs. Sanchez was a member of the Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW, with visitation after 6:30. Charlie Gallegos will recite the Rosary. Final visitation will be Friday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church with a Memorial Mass to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment of Mrs. Sanchez's cremains will follow at the San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. SKIDMORE -- Mattye Jim Skidmore, born May 14, 1914, passed away peacefully Monday, June 19, 2006. She was the mother of Martha Catherine, Jimmie Beth, Francine Ione, Mary Jean, and Dorie Ann. She was a devoted mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother who dedicated her life to her family. A native of Waco, TX, she married Frank Skidmore March 15, 1935 in El Paso, TX. He preceded her in death on December 11, 1999. She now is able to be with her true love. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her never ending worrying about her kids and her soft skin that never saw the sun. But above all, she will be remembered for being the best mom and G-Mom there ever was. WILMARTH -- James Edwin Wilmarth, age 64, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 17, 2006. He was born in Cortez, CO, September 24, 1941. Jim was raised in Albuquerque and graduated from Sandia High School in 1960. While serving in the Air Force, Jim graduated from Allen Hancock College, Santa Maria, CA, in 1962, with an Associate of Arts degree. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1963, Jim enrolled in the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and continued taking courses. He went to work for Dynnalectron Corporation at Holloman AFB, working on the timing and firing distribution center at the White Sands Missile Range. In 1965, Jim went to work for EG&G and went to Carswell AFB, Fort Worth, TX, for Physiological training. From there he was assigned to Nellis AFB, Las Vegas, NV, flying C-130 aircraft for the Tactical Air Command to evaluate combat low-altitude flying crews and aircraft. He assisted in the special maintenance of the RB-57F high-altitude sampling aircraft at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque. In 1966 and 1967, Jim worked in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and Hawaii, installing and working on ground stations and on the Nuclear Atmospheric Readiness Program at Sandia National Laboratory. Jim joined the Los Alamos National Laboratory in 1968 as a member of GMX Division. In 1971, he transferred to the Los Alamos Meson Physics Facility (LAMPF), now known as the Los Alamos Neutron Science Center (LANSCE), a half-mile-long linear accelerator. Jim was responsible for the experimental area's instrumentation and controls, working closely with Pan Am engineering and the MP Division office. He was especially known for his precise documentation and his record-keeping skills. His systems were meticulously documented, both in his system sketches and in the formal drawings prepared by drafting personnel. Notebooks full of documentation filled bookcases in his office. Jim had a special gift for mentoring students, patiently working with them, exposing them to the work environment, and giving them the opportunity to learn. Jim worked at LAMPF until he retired in June 2001. Jim was an avid genealogist, filling his home office with notebooks full of family history documentation. He loved travel, airplanes, science, good food, but mostly people. He made everyone feel important and when he heard criticism, he always responded with a smile, "They're doing the best they can." He was a loving father, son, and husband. Jim is survived by his wife, Claudette Wilmarth of Santa Fe; his sons, Jeffery (Diana) of Salem, UT, and Daniel (Pamela) of Grand Junction, CO; step-son, Michael Lusk (Heather) of Albuquerque; three precious granddaughters, Melissa (Isaias) Gonzalez and Myah Wilmarth of Salem, UT, and Halee Lusk of Albuquerque; mother, Nedra Wilmarth of Albuquerque; brother, Bill (Mary) of Green River, UT, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Wilmarth and step-son, Matthew Lusk. A Memorial Service will be held at Strong Thorne Mortuary in Albuquerque on Thursday, June 22, 2006, at 3:00 p.m. Interment and Graveside Services will be at Cortez Cemetery, Cortez, CO, July 15, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Casa Esperanza, 1005 Yale Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87106.
