BABSKI -- Marion Elisabeth Babski, 88, an Albuquerque resident since 1977, died Thursday, April 27, 2006. She is survived by her beloved husband, Witold Leon Babski, and many cherished friends. She was born on June 24, 1927 in New York City. Her entire career was spent in the New York fashion industry, starting as a publicity copywriter and later becoming a fashion reporter in connection with the London and Paris couture. In 1953 she joined an international firm in public relations and advertising to promote its several trademarks in the apparel and home furnishings field. BIERNAKCI -- Tony Biernacki On May 4, 2006, Anthony "Tony" Biernacki ended his battle with Alzheimer's and cancer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret; father, Wallace; and infant sister, all of Pittsburgh PA. He is survived by his wife, Ellen; and four sons, Buzz and his wife, Kari, Steven and his wife, Janet, Robert and his wife, Susan, and Mark and his wife, Joelle. Tony is also survived by two brothers, Butch and his wife, Jean of Pittsburgh, PA, Gary and his wife, Lisa of Charlotte, NC, and by his aunt, Stella of Texas. Tony is survived by six grandchildren, Katie, Beau, Katherine, Eric, Olivia, Chris; and by many nieces and nephews. Ellen and Tony were married for over 50 years and he was devoted to his wife and family. Tony was born in Bethel Park PA on October 31, 1932, was a star football player in high school, and enlisted in the Air Force after graduation. During his career he earned a commission and retired as a highly decorated Major. He served as an Air Training Officer and the soccer coach for the first classes of the Air Force Academy. The remainder of his career he served as a navigator in high altitude reconnaissance aircraft. He served proudly for 20 years. After he retired he worked as a contractor and woodworker and was always available to help family and friends with their projects. Even though he fought with Alzheimer's for the last 15 years, he thoroughly loved spending time with family, friends, and traveling. He enjoyed watching all sports especially soccer and the Pittsburgh Steelers. His kindness and love will be missed by many. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation. CUELLAR -- Henry Cuellar, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006 in Sandia Park, NM at the age of 71. Mr. Cuellar was an Army Veteran and served with the 8th Division. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Cuellar; son, Matthew Cuellar and girlfriend, Antoinette; daughters, Rosalie Cuellar-Hatcher and husband, James, and Christina Cuellar; brothers, Tony Cuellar and wife, Sue, and Joe Cuellar and wife, Fina; and five grandchildren, Tristan, James, Gabriel, Sean, and Joseph. DETTER -- Jeremy Lee Detter, 5, a lifelong resident of Rio Rancho, NM, became an Angel in Heaven on May 2, 2006 at UNM Hospital with his family by his side. Jeremy was born on September 21, 2000 in Albuquerque to Jerry and Melanie Detter. His parents' first thought of their baby was, "He's perfect! We want another one!" Jeremy was fascinated by dinosaurs, Red (and only red) Power Rangers, Tom & Jerry cartoons, Spiderman, Shrek, Elmo, and Steve Irwin the Crocodile Hunter. Jeremy was very loving and protective of his brothers, Mykah, Eric, Shawn, and sister, Lindsey. He was very complimentary and liked to say, "I love you." Jeremy could roar like a dinosaur and especially liked to share his dinosaurs with his favorite nurse, Steve. Like any child, he loved macaroni and cheese, Cheetos, Pizza Rolls, and only "Big Slices" of pizza, not the personal size pizzas. Jeremy was preceded in death by his grandmother, Joan Detter, in 2002. He is survived by his parents and siblings; great-grandparents, Velma Grumment, Ruth Detter, Mary Jonssen, Bertha Taylor; grandparents, Darrel and Lois Detter, Mattie Jonsson, and George and Becky Jonsson; aunts, Debra Turnbull and husband, Joe, Marina Collazo, Melissa Stubblefield and husband, Shane, and Mechell Hobbs; cousins, Brandon and Brett Christian, Andrew and Cody Turnbull, Samantha and Alexandria Collazo, Matthew and Jonathon Crittenden, and Jenna Stubblefield, and Billy Hobbs, and Jordon G. DURAY -- Patricia "Pat" Duray, 74, a resident of Albuquerque for 45 years, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006. She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Marchese; grandson, Rick Artiaga and wife, Franchesca; great-grandsons, Mateo and Lyrick Artiaga, all of Albuquerque; brothers, Jim Vogt of Nebraska and John Vogt of Oklahoma; sister, Mary Shanks of Missouri. Pat was preceded in death by first husband, Arden Russell; her second husband, Charles Duray; and her sons, Greg Russell and Steve Russell. Pat loved antiquing; Barry's auction house was like a second home to her. She also made a lot of friends reselling items at Things Etc. at the Indoor Flea Market. KEELER -- Herbert "Lee" Keeler, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2006. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Frances Annicelli Keeler; his brother, Howard Keeler of Wappinger Falls, NY; his sister-in-law, Alma Keeler of Pompano Beach, FL; sister-in-law, Carmoline Grady and husband, Bing of Albuquerque; and many nieces and nephews. Lee was a veteran of WWII, stationed at Kirtland Air Force Base when he met Frances. He worked as a Service Supervisor at Southern Union Gas Company, (now PNM) for 25 years before his retirement in 1983. In retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his "Fran" and his golf games with his buddies. He was a member of the Elks Club and the Albuquerque Petroleum Club. Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 6, 2006, 10:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Annunciation Catholic Church, 2621 Vermont NE, Father Bennett J. Voorhies, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. A reception will follow the interment on Saturday, May 6, 2006 at the Albuquerque Petroleum Club. MACIAS -- Wilfred Benjamin Macias, 61, proud Marine Corps Warrior, found peace May 2, 2006 surrounded by his loving wife and family. His loving wife, Dora cared for Ben during the last three years of his illness. MEADOR -- Elizabeth Scott Meador, 84, a 53-year Albuquerque resident, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006. Betty was a well-known leader in the arts and crafts community during the 1960s, 70s, and 80s. She is survived by and will be deeply missed by her husband of 66 years, Walter G. PILCHER -- Robert Bruce Pilcher was born June 26, 1919 in Lawrence, KS. He has been a resident of Albuquerque since 1958. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Caroline Pilcher of Wichita, KS and his sister, Louise Curtis of Phoenix, AZ. He is survived by his wife, Thelma J. Pilcher; children, Alanna Larsen and spouse, Dean of Littleton, CO, Mark Pilcher and spouse, Leslie of Hong Kong; grandchildren, Ashley Merritt and spouse, Jason of Arvada, CO, Samantha and Brandon Pilcher of Hong Kong; sister, Adeline Brown of Wichita, KS; and several nieces and nephews. Robert enlisted in the Army Reserve Corps in November 1942. He was called into active duty in February of 1943. After completing basic training, aviation cadet preflight training and gunnery and navigation training, he was ferried to his new home with the 2nd Bomb Group, 20th Squadron of the 15th Air Force. The 2nd Bomb Group was stationed north of Foggia on the east side of Italy. Robert served as a navigator on a B-17 Flying Fortress. On his twenty-first mission his plane was shot down, but it was able to make a pancake landing in Hungary. Robert was awarded a Purple Heart for injuries he received during this mission. He was discharged in September of 1945. Robert met Thelma in the summer of 1946 and they were in May of 1947. With Thelma's encouragement, he enrolled at the University of Kansas in the summer of 1948. He graduated with a BS in Architectural Engineering in December 1950. His daughter was born while he was in college. After graduating, he worked at Boeing in Wichita and during this time his son was born. In 1958 he began working as an architect of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Branch of Plant Design and Construction in Albuquerque. He worked on numerous school and hospital projects around the country, including the Barrow Hospital in Barrow, AK. Robert and Thelma traveled extensively after his retirement. He loved his family very much and will be missed by all. Graveside Services will be held May 8, 2006, 1:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. SESMA -- Katherine E. Sesma, 75, an Albuquerque native, wife to Robert Sesma, died Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at Lovelace Hospital. She is survived by her daughters, Rosetta Menapace and husband, Frank, and Roberta Stevens and husband, Ben, all of Albuquerque; son, Robert "Mike" Sesma and wife, Susan, of San Diego, CA; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five sisters; and two brothers. Katherine was a retired nurse with 20 years service at local hospitals. Her last duty was Sandia Army Hospital. She was treasurer for Woodmen and acted as Summer Camp Nurse. Katherine was a strong person of faith and loved her family above all. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, 1:00 p.m., at St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church, 3828 4th NW. TANNER -- Lewis Raymond (Ray) Tanner Jr., 85, a longtime resident of Albuquerque and a New Mexico native, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2006. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Bettie A. Tanner of Edgewood, NM; son, Ronald Tanner of Albuquerque, NM; son, Gary Tanner of Aurora, CO; son, Randy Tanner and wife, Carmel of Seattle, WA; daughter, Terri Mims and husband, Philip of Albuquerque, NM; son, Tyson and wife, Anne of Edgewood, NM; grandchildren, Brandon Tanner, Shane Tanner, Shad Tanner, Jade Lambro, Chance Mims, Kendall Mims, Calen Mims, Zachary Tanner; and great-grandchildren, Trinity, Dylan, Dustin, Meah, Jason, Rylan, Jocie, and Morgan. Mr. Tanner was preceded in death by both parents and one grandson, Jason Tanner. Ray was born October 4, 1920 in Maxwell, NM to the late Alice and Lewis (Lou) Tanner Sr. He graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1938 where he excelled in sports, and he met the love of his life, Bettie Marshal. They married on January 18, 1940. He graduated from UNM where he played both basketball and baseball, and received the honor of High Point Man in the Border Intercollegiate Athletic Conference under the distinguished Lobo basketball coach Roy "Ironhead" Johnson. He made his career with the AT&SF Railroad in Las Vegas, NM where he and Bettie began raising their family while living in a box car. During this time he also coached American Legion baseball. He retired in 1986 after 47 years, and started the family business Tanner Homes, Inc. in Edgewood, NM. He actively participated in this endeavor until very recently. Ray's athleticism and love for all sports was passed on to each of his children who have incorporated that love into their own lives and the lives of their children with the same passion. He will be remembered for many things; his quiet and gentle character, his strong work ethic, his love for animals, his strength in sports, his warm and constant smile, but most importantly, for the love he gave to the family he leaves behind. We are comforted knowing he is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior. Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial will be held. Direct Funeral Services 2919 4th St. NW 343-8008.

TARANGO -- Arthur Roy Tarango, 80, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2006 in his home. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Tarango of Albuquerque; several brothers and sisters; and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carmen Tarango. Arthur was an active member of Queen of Heaven parish for many years. He was an honorable man, who will be deeply missed. VATH -- William Alan Vath, "Bill", 56, went home to our Lord May 1, 2006. He passed peacefully at his home in Dallas, TX, surrounded by his wife and family members. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He resided in Dallas, TX for the past 10 years, but was raised in Albuquerque. His wife, Pam; his mother, Arlene; his children, Joshua and Erin; his brother, Thomas; and sister, Linda; and two grandchildren survive him. His father, Dennis, preceded him in death. WILDER -- Ruby Munn Wilder, age 67, passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family, Thursday, May 4, 2006, after a long battle with cancer. Ruby and her husband, Ed were members of the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Posse and they were also involved in the Albuquerque Cowboy Polo Club for many years. She enjoyed her animals, she loved spending time with her family and she took pride in caring for their home. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Munn and Sally Munn Jackson; her sister, Mae Killen; and her three brothers, J.D., Buddy, and Floyd Munn. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Ed Wilder; her daughter, Sandy Turnbow and husband, Casey; her son, David Lowe; five grandchildren, Larime, Dalene, Jana, Amber and husband, Gabriel, and Keith; three great-grandchildren, Larime, Jerome, and Alexis; two sisters, Reba Leffman and husband, Dick and Delma Duggan; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. A Memorial Service will be held at Valley Christian Church, 2850 Gun Club Rd.
