ARAGON -- Raymond G. Aragon 1957-2006 Raymond G. Aragon, age 48, of Albuquerque, formerly of Belen, passed away at his home Saturday, April 29, 2006. Ray was a retired Senior Rates Analyst for PNM, and was also a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Emma; two daughters, Alyssa Martinez, and Candice Aragon; one granddaughter, his baby girl and light of his life, Gabriella Rose; parents, Tino Aragon and Theresa Aragon; three brothers, Floyd Aragon and wife Sally, George Aragon and wife Monica and Chris Aragon and wife Rose; and one sister, Pearl. Also surviving are many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his brother, Terrence. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church with Father Stephen Schultz officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. BEASLEY -- William S. Beasley passed away on April 14, 2006, after a long illness. He is survived by two daughters, Linda Beasley Brewer, and Regina Brunk; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild. COUSENS -- James A. "Jim" Cousens, 60, died peacefully at home on Monday, April 24, 2006. He is survived by his wife, Gail Cousens, of the family home; daughters, Jamie Cousens, and Emily Cousens, both of Albuquerque, NM; six brothers; five sisters; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Marley. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Ken and Ethel Cousens; brother, Stanley' and sister, Linda. Jim was employed as a Business Development Manager at Honeywell for twenty years. He was an avid golfer and loved the outdoors. Mr. Cousens was a veteran in the United States Air Force and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. FLEMING -- Robert Howard Fleming, 71, a life long resident of Albuquerque, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 27, 2006. Bob enjoyed life to the fullest – which covered rodeo bronc and bull riding to ranch work to enjoying his art work and acting, with several movies to his credit. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Judy Fleming, and many nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers include Jerry Spear, Gary Spear, John Herron and Barry Stambaugh. GLOVER -- Mikel Zachary Shilling Glover (Zak), age 17, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2006. He would have turned 18 on April 29. Zak is survived by his sister, Laurel Glover; his mother, Rebecca Clark; his father and his stepmother, Mikel and Lindsay Glover, his brothers, MacKenzie, Alexandre, and Elijah; and his sister, Madeleine; and many family members and friends who loved him and will miss him. Zak enjoyed skateboarding, and laughing with his friends. His hobbies were singing in the shower, chasing ladybugs, making wallets out of duct tape, and telling funny stories. HOUGHTON -- Donald K. "Hoot", 81, born February 8, 1925, peacefully passed away April 29, 2006 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Graduated from Albuquerque High School, a Pacific Veteran of the United States Coast Guard, retired from PNM after 31 years as a line foreman, worked at Hope Schools, and taught Sunday School at Faith Chapel for 18 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Florence; sisters Cecile and Sibyl; and grandson, Jonathan. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Doris Houghton; children, Albert, Donna, Janetta, Cynthia Houghton, Pamela and husband, Allen Kirkpatrick, Tina and husband, Wayne Sieg; seven grandchildren; brother, Paul; nieces and nephews. JACKSON -- Virginia S. Jackson, 89, a resident of Albuquerque for 46 years, peacefully passed this world on Wednesday, April 26, 2006. She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Thurman E. (Jack) Jackson; loving daughter, Terry L. Jackson and son-in-law, James W. Gustafson, all of Albuquerque; brother-in-law, Archie G. Jackson of Laguna Beach, CA; sister-in-law, Velma Taber-Estes of Lee, IL; nephews, Ronald R. Redding, Michael S. Jackson and Gary Taber; one niece, Candace J. Burrows; step-granddaughter, Jennifer F. Gustafson; two stepbrothers; and countless friends, former students, fellow educators, and nursing colleagues nation-wide. Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her adoring father, her sister, mother and stepmother. Active as a Registered Nurse for more than 40 years, Virginia served during WWII in the Army Nurse Corps as a Second Lieutenant, was Professor of Nursing at UNM in the College of Nursing where a faculty office was dedicated in her honor in January 2000, and retired from APS as a School Nurse. She authored the first Nursing Needs Study for the State of NM for the University of Albuquerque, served as President of the NM Nurses Association for two terms, was appointed to author and lobby for NM legislation for nurses (the Nurse Practice Act), and otherwise energetically championed and honorably represented the nursing profession throughout her dynamic career and into retirement. A world traveler known for her intellect, integrity, quick wit, easy smile and devotion to her family, Virginia will be dearly remembered and missed by all those whose lives she touched in a very special way. Memorial Services will be held Thursday, May 4, 2006, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Private family interment will take place at a later date at Santa Fe National Cemetery. LOPEZ -- ALFRED L. Dr. Alfred L. Lopez, 90, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, died on Thursday, April 27, 2006. He was preceded in death by his son, Dr. Leonard Lopez. Al is survived by his wife of 67 years, Eppie; his children, Dr. Al Lopez, Jr. and wife, Dianne, Dr. Vic Lopez, and Melinda and husband, Bob Langdon; grandchildren, Alfred Lopez, Stacy Bishop (Matt), Chris, Sarah and Olivia Lopez, Richard Lopez (Shawn Cobb), Lesley Kottom (Terry), Jennifer Baxter (Stephen), Kristy Manning (Stephen), Lenny Lopez, Andrew Wheeler, Jackie and Alex Langdon; great-grandchildren, Madison Baxter, Christopher and Chloe Manning; Susie Lopez, Laureen Buro, Jan and Larry Jones, Peggy and Tim Wheeler, Jamie B. Menees and Rose Rivera; and his many extended family members. Dr. Lopez was Past president, Albuquerque District Dental Society and of the NM Dental Society; member of the American Dental Association, NM Dental Society, American Society of Dentistry for Children, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy; member of the board, NM Cancer Society; graduate, University of Kansas City School of Denistry. He was awarded the Sertoma International's First Annual Service to Mankind Award (1955). He also received the Papal Knighthood of St. Gregory from the late Pope Pius XII. As president of the Albuquerque Boys Club, Dr. Lopez and his board of directors were instrumental in building a clubhouse, financed from donations of material, labor and cash from business firms, labor unions, civic club s and private citizens. Dr. Lopez served with the U.S. Army Dental Corps during WWII with the rank of major. Special thanks to Shawn Cobb and Dr. Ray Esquibel (Donna) for all the time and energy devoted to Al's care. OSTON -- Frayda J. Oston, 67, died April 29, 2006, after a short illness. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on March 14, 1939, and later moved to Massachusetts, where she lived for 25 years. She resided in Albuquerque since 1990. Frayda wore many "red hats" well. She was at times a scientist, an administrator, and a business executive. She worked in various fields from mental health to flue-making. She was a gourmet cook and opera buff. She volunteered for hospice, the Samaritans, The Women's Shelter, and The United Way. She loved her family, the Sandias, and chocolate. Frayda is remembered by her children: Ellice andJavan; her step daughters, Heidi, & Shauneen; her sister, Jarede, and her cherished grandchildren, Tivon and Galen, Shannon, Ryan, and Samantha, Cheyenne, Savannah, and Dakota, Kaylee, and Shelby. RAUCH -- Kristin Rauch, 53, of Placitas passed away April 27, 2006, in Albuquerque. She was born in Washington, D.C. on June 4, 1952, to C. Stanley and Jean I. Rauch. Kristin's higher education included: baccalaureate and master degrees in Art Education from the University of New Mexico and a doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She was a professor at UNC-Charlotte, and professor and associate dean at SUNY-New Paltz. Kristin is the director of fine arts for Rio Rancho Public Schools and an adjunct professor at UNM. She married Richard Reif in 1983. Kristin is survived by her husband, Richard; mother, Jean I. Rauch; brother, Eric Rauch; son, Richard Reif II and his wife Dana; and three grandchildren, Amber, Samantha, and Richard Joseph Reif III. RYAN -- Charles G. Ryan, 80, died Saturday, April 29, 2006, following a brief illness. Born October 5, 1925, in Silver City, NM, to Helen Chandler Ryan and Judge Raymond R. Ryan, he lived as a youth, and in the last 30 years, in Albuquerque. He married Alice Gass in 1953, and they lived during his career in hotel management in Albuquerque and in New York, New Orleans, Washington, D.C., and San Francisco. He served in the Korean War, and graduated from the University of Denver. For some years, he helped at St. John's Cathedral, first with floral arrangements and later at the church's thrift shop. Since his wife's death, he also enjoyed several road trips with his nephew, Richard. In addition to his wife Alice, he was predeceased by his brothers, Judge Joseph Ryan and Richard Ryan; nephew, Michael Lewis; niece, Ann Ryan. He is survived by nephew, Richard Ryan of Los Angeles; nieces Rebecca Almeter, of Albuquerque, Margaret Houlihan, of Novato, CA, and Karen Parrish, of Corrales; sister-in-law, Nancy Lewis, of Albuquerque. SCHUETZ -- Martha Schuetz, 85, of Copperas Cove, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2006 at home in Copperas Cove. The family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 1-2 p.m., Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church where Funeral Service will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Robert Wagner officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Albuquerque, NM. She was born in Copperas Cove, TX, on February 4, 1921, to Robert and Selma (Scharf) Krause. Living here, until she moved to Albuquerque, NM with, her sister, Tillie, and her husband Ray Yoakum. On September 28, 1944, she married Edwin Schuetz. Ed preceded her in death in 1989. Martha returned to Copperas Cove in 1995. She was a licensed beautician, owning a shop and working in others for over 50 years in New Mexico. A life long member in the Lutheran Church, with membership now at Immanuel Lutheran in Copperas Cove. Martha enjoyed working crossword puzzles and doing needlework. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Henry, Louis and Enno Krause; and three sisters, Gertrude Krause, Amanda O'Hair, and Tillie Yoakum. Survivors are two brothers, Arnold Krause and his wife Oneida and Alvin Krause and his wife Elaine all of Copperas Cove; sister-in-laws, Ruby Krause of Copperas Cove and Martha Krause of Brooksmith; nieces, Joan Krause, Selma Jordan, Shirley Yoakum, Jan Pena and Kay Franks; nephews, Donald, Larry, Gary and Ronnie Krause; also several great-nieces and great-nephews. SEFCIK -- William Francis Sefcik, 93, a resident of Albuquerque since 1957, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2006. Mr. Sefcik is survived by his wife of 69 1/2 years, Marion Dewey Sefcik; children, Ellen Sefcik of Albuquerque, George Sefcik and wife Barbara of Arizona, and Kathryn Carey and husband George of Albuquerque; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. Sefcik was born in New York City, and was a long time employee of Sandia Laboratories. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. WALKER -- Mildred F. Walker, 93, passed away, Friday, April 28, 2006 at her home. She was born June 8, 1912 in Vanndale, AR, a daughter of Horace and Edna Fitzgerald. She married Ernest L. Walker, December 4, 1943 in Los Angeles, CA. He passed away, August 17, 1987. She received a Master's Degree in Home Economics and Agricultural Sciences from the University of Arkansas, in 1942. She was an ardent Razorback fan all of her life. She retired from the Home Extension Service in Northern New Mexico in 1966. She had a second career that began in 1968 in New York City, as Director of Homemaker Services for the New York City Department of Social Services. She retired in 1976, and permanently retired to her beloved New Mexico. Survivors include her daughter, Edna and husband Dale Ayers of Rio Rancho; four grandchildren, Scott Creange, Albuquerque, NM; Erin Creange Clark, Littleton, CO, Gregory Dale Ayers, Paintsville, KY, Michael Clarence Ayers, Albuquerque, NM; four great-grandchildren, Alexander, Connor, Angus, and Jackson.
