ALDEN -- Ruby Hagler Alden, 80, passed away at her home on April 11, 2006. Ruby was born in Waynoka, Oklahoma on March 2, 1926 to Claude and Georgia Etta Pratt. Ms. Alden is survived by her daughters, Sherry Taylor, and Pamela Hagler both of Albuquerque; one son, James R. Hagler Jr. and wife, Debbie of Chandler, AZ; step-daughter, Dolly; grandchildren, Forrest, Jessica, Matthew Jay, Andrew Jon, Amanda Maureen, and Amy; brothers, Melvin and Bill Pratt and great-grandchildren, Cody and Michael. Ruby is preceded in death by her first husband, James R. Hagler; second husband, Floyd Alden; sister, Rose Ann Pratt Wells; and brothers, Louie and Joe Pratt; one grandson, Aaron Benjamin. ARCHIBECK -- Pauline J. "Polly" Archibeck, of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, April 12, 2006. DAUGHTER, WIFE, MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER, GREAT-GRANDMOTHER AND FRIEND. Polly was artistic and talented. She was an award winning master flower arranger and famous for her rose garden. Polly was a former Miss Albuquerque in the 30's. Her parents were George and Marguerite Kronemeyer. She was born in Holland, MI and came to Albuquerque due to her father's illness. Her father was a home builder in Stronghurst and Carlisle areas. Besides her parents and sister, Inez Crow, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Peter V. and her son, Gerald. The Archibeck Family owned the Albuquerque Cash and Carry for many years. She is survived by daughters, Shirley Bostick and husband, Leon; and Paulette Archibeck and husband, Eddie Westkamp; grandchildren, Randy Jackson and wife, Patty of Phoenix, AZ, Tamara and husband, William Kuh, Susan and husband, Tom McGovern of Globe, AZ and Steven Bostick of Seattle, WA; her beloved great-grandchildren, Greta, William and Sarah. CRYE -- John R. Crye, Jr., 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1945, died Wednesday, April 12, 2006. He is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Settles and husband Walter of Green Valley, Arizona and Win Simon of Albuquerque; sons, Doug Simon of Albuquerque and Nick LaRue and wife Carol of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Laura and Jake; great-grandson, Abran; and sister, Hazel Sullivan of Albuquerque. His wife Barbara and daughter Peggy Dixon preceded him in death. John and Barbara were members of Asbury United Methodist Church. John retired from Sandia National Labs in 1982. He had a passion for analyzing systems, both mechanical and human, and always had a thoughtful commentary for both. John loved to tell a good joke and made a habit to read the comics in the paper before anything else. Born in Calborne, Louisiana, a southern gentleman, he lived life more slowly and served as a role model for the rest of us in this hurry up world. FLANAGAN -- Susan Wentworth Flanagan, 63, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006 surrounded by her loving family. Susan was married to the love of her life, James Joseph Patrick Flanagan in 1964 until his death on a baseball field in 1988. She was an artist, a painter, a sculptor, a calligrapher, a weaver and an author of doggerel. Susan attended UNM where she studied art and art history. She worked in the wax room at the Shidoni Foundry in Santa Fe. Susan was a loyal employee of the Frank Gorham family, where she loved her work. Although she was born in Albuquerque, she lived in New York, California, Colorado, Nevada, Florida, and Massachusetts before returning to her beloved New Mexico in 1991. Susan is survived by her sisters, Maria Nunez of Albuquerque and Gretchen Dick of Santa Fe; brother, John Wentworth of Santa Fe; and nephew, Nick Wentworth of Colorado Springs. GLENNON -- Agnes Lillian Glennon, 84, went to be with the Lord on April 12, 2006. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Tom Glennon. Agnes was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She enjoyed singing, dancing, crocheting, eating ice cream, and taking care of "her man." During World War II, she was a proud Navy WAVE. For many years, she was a crossing guard for the school children at Annunciation School in New Mexico. She was also active in the Legion of Mary at Annunciation Church in New Mexico and at St. Anne's Parish in Oregon. She is survived by her two sons and six daughters: Reverend Tom Glennon of Chicago, Danny and Paula Glennon of New Mexico, Diane and Bill Chirrick of California, Margaret and Greg Peterson of Oregon, Susan and Dave Cotner of Oregon, Mary and Dave Pepper of New Mexico, Carol and Tim Robertson of New Mexico, and Kathy Allensworth of Oregon. Her 22 grandchildren are: Bill Chirrick, Lori Sullivan, Sherry Tabutol, Paul Pepper, Joel Peterson, Sean Cotner, Heather Anderson, Matthew Pepper, Jeremy Pepper, Kevin Cotner, Jessica Robertson, Jamie Anderson, Colleen Pepper; Brian Cotner, Jonathan Peterson, Sarah Allensworth, Jodie Robertson, Sheila Allensworth, Patrick Glennon, Justin Robertson, Melissa Glennon, and Shelby Allensworth. Her eight great-grandchildren are: Richard Tabutol, Evan Mortenson, Joey Schreiber, Camila Chirrick, Kaden Cotner, Kittiara Cotner, Cannon Anderson, and Audrey Schreiber. She is also survived by her sister and brother Edie Masone of New York and Gene and Mary Wood of Boston. The Rosary and Funeral Mass will take place in Oregon. GREEN -- James W. "Jim" Green, 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1983, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006. He is survived by his sister, Cora Green of Brooks Crossroad, NC; sons, James Green of Rio Rancho and Richard Green and wife, Linda of Red River. Mr. Green was preceded in death by his wife, Vercie L. Green. He served in the US Marines during World War II. Mr. Green attended the University of Oklahoma, where he received two degrees. He taught in the Hobbs Municipal Schools from 1949-1956. Mr. Green served as Field Consultant for the NM Educational Budget Auditor, was Chief, Public School Finance Division, Executive Secretary of New Mexico-National Education Association and spent many years as Manager of the Lobbying Section of the National Education Association in Washington, DC. He retired from the NEA in 1984. Upon retirement Jim was a volunteer for AARP, serving as State Legislative Chairperson and as a member of the National Legislative Committee. Per US News & World Report, he was the one person most responsible for creating the US Department of Education. Mr. Green was a member of the Central United Methodist Church, where he served many years as Teacher of the Friendly Bible Class. MASSEY -- Kathy Massey was born Dona Kathryn Taylor in Belen, NM on August 11, 1950 to Frank and Lucille Taylor. Both parents precede her in death. She was raised in Belen and lived a short while in Ft. Sumner. Kathy graduated from Espanola High in 1968. Kathy married Randy Massey on March 19, 1983 in Albuquerque, NM and gave birth to their son, Lee Massey on October 6, 1988. Both husband and son survive her at the family home. Randy and Kathy have resided in Albuquerque for the past 26 years. Also surviving are her stepson, Scott Massey and daughter-in-law, Brianna of Roswell; stepdaughter, Michelle Massey of Florida; brother, Dee Taylor and sister-in-law, Peggy of Virginia; sister, Rita Colgan and brother-in-law, George of Idaho; nieces, Dr. Lori Alford of New Hampshire, Karen Sakai of California, and Robyn Corbett of Alaska; mother-in-law, Billie Walker of Roswell; brothers-in-law, Rick Massey of Roswell, Don Massey and sister-in-law, Denise of Albuquerque. Kathy was an avid reader who also enjoyed water skiing, camping, attending national drag racing events, and dancing. She was known for her big, open and caring heart. As a wife, she was a valuable partner whose love and talents were cherished. She will be dearly missed. Kathy was a devoted mother and she will remain irreplaceable. NIX -- Velma Ruth Nix, 70, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, April 12, 2006. She was loved by all who knew her. She was born in McLean, TX on August 12, 1935 and has been a resident of Santa Fe since 1953. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Robert Gene Nix; children, Stephen M. Nix and wife, Renee of Santa Fe, daughter, Tasha Budlong and husband, Todd of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Noel Nix, Thor Nix and wife, Lauren all of Albuquerque; great-grandchildren, Marilyn and Jaxon; one brother, Ereman Jones of Santa Fe; and other relatives and Friends. If you were a big bold rainbow I'd be your pot of gold. You would shine up in the sky so high So brightly and so bold. REINHARDT -- Irene (Agnes) Lang Reinhardt entered the door of her heavenly home on April 12, 2006 at the age of 78 years. Irene was born on June 5, 1927 in Le Sueur, Minnesota to Thomas Lang and Margaret Becker Lang. She was the first child baptized at the new St. Anne's Catholic Church there. Irene worked canning vegetables at the Green Giant Canning factory as a High School student and then won a scholarship to attend the three-year registered nurse program at St. Catherine's College and St. Mary's Hospital in St. Paul/Minneapolis, MN. As a student, she earned a pin from the American Red Cross for citywide vaccination efforts in Mankato, MN. Irene started her career as a registered nurse at Immanuel Hospital also in Mankato, but ultimately went to work for the Indian Health Service. While working at the IHS hospital in Whiteriver, AZ, she met BIA forester Ned Reinhardt. The couple were married at St. Francis Mission in Whiteriver on July 24, 1954. Irene retired from nursing to dedicate herself to the care of her family in 1955. The family lived on many reservations in Arizona and New Mexico. They finally settled in Albuquerque in 1965. Irene was a member of the Altar Rosary Society at Queen of Heaven Catholic Parish. From 1980-1983, she studied Philosophy at the University of New Mexico. Irene was a lifelong fitness advocate and, with Ned, an avid traveler visiting Ireland in 1993 and Western Europe in 1996 as well as tenting from coast-to-coast in the US and Canada. Irene is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ned, along with son Edward, Jr. of Albuquerque, daughter Mary of Farmington, and son Peter of Colorado Springs. Daughter-in-law Trina and granddaughter Charlene of Colorado Springs as well as grandson Marc of San Antonio, Texas also survive her. In addition she is survived by 2 cousins, 2 sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. Her brother, parents, and sister preceded Irene in death. SUNDBERG -- John A. Sundberg, 32, a resident of Albuquerque was called home by our Heavenly Father on April 11, 2006. John was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents, John R. Sundberg and Doris Sundberg, and his brother, James A. Grover. He is survived by his fiancee, Jennifer D. Castillo; and daughters, Noel L. Sundberg, Naomi N. Sundberg and Kalysta R. Castillo; sisters, Barbara, Sue and Jeanne, and brother, Jerry; future parents, Larry and Debbie Altergott, and lifelong friend, Dave Stephens; his family of co-workers, and many other friends. TAPIA -- Emma Eve Tapia, 61, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2006. She is survived by her parents, Arturo and Hortencia Montes and loving sisters and brothers, Lupe Gonzales, Edna Rapp, Blanca Diaz, Martha Alarcon, Ralph Montes, and Ramon Montes; her children to whom she dedicated her life, Andrew Rivera, Christopher Tapia, Ruby Tapia and DeAnna Tapia; seven grandchildren and innumerable friends who were fortunate enough to be touched by her kind spirit. Emma's best friends included Teresa Tapia and Joyce Reszka. Emma was a graduate of Austin High School in El Paso, Texas. She moved to Albuquerque as a young adult and built her family with her beloved husband, Emilio Tapia, who preceded her in death during this Easter season 18 years ago. Although Emma worked outside of the home occasionally, most recently at Coca-Cola, she devoted most of her life as a wife to her husband and mother to her children. Emma ("Mom") taught her children life's most valuable lessons including respect for others, unconditional love of family, and perseverance in difficult times. An angel to all those who came to know her, she will be deeply and truly missed. Emma's children wish to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her sisters, Edna and Lupe, who gave so unselfishly of themselves to care for and comfort Emma during her most difficult last days. WILLEY -- Sheila Suzanne Willey, age 46, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at her home in Sandia Park, NM, after a long battle with brain cancer. The former Sheila Patterson had been married to her friend and husband, David Willey, for almost twenty-six years. Sheila worked most recently as an Administrative Assistant for Albuquerque Academy and prior to that she was a celebrated floral designer in the Albuquerque area for over twenty years. She was extremely active in her community as a little league coach, PTA president, and Director of the San Antonito Ski Club. She is survived by her husband, David Willey; son, Tristan Willey and daughter, Alexandra Willey of Sandia Park. She is also survived by her mother, Susan Patterson of Weymouth, Dorset, UK; her father, William Patterson; her brother, Steven Patterson of Grey Court, SC; her brothers-in-law, Mark Willey of Boulder, CO, and Paul Willey of Albuquerque, NM, and sister-in-law, Lisa Willey of Albuquerque, NM.
