ALLMAN -- Gavin Thomas Allman, age 22, a life-long resident of Albuquerque, was lost in a tragic automobile accident Saturday, February 25, 2006. Gavin had a tender heart and a loving soul. He was a 2001 graduate of Manzano High School; received his degree in Criminal Justice at TVI in December, 2005. Gavin's hobbies were working on cars, enjoying music and movies, and he had a special love for animals. He had a very close group of friends and was deeply loved by all who knew him. Gavin is survived by his dear parents, Ron and Peggy Allman; his beloved sister, Nicole and a special niece, Jenieva; his wonderful grandparents, Lenita Potter, Stan Potter and Carolyn Allman; many uncles, aunts, and cousins; and his girlfriend, Thoa (Kim) Pham. ARNOT -- Alice Arnot died Friday, February 24, 2006. She was born January 9, 1909, in Buda, IL. She graduated from Blackburn College and taught school several years. College friends, Bill and Catharine Davies, introduced her to Bob Arnot and they were married in 1938. The Davies and the Arnots were next door neighbors for 50 years. Alice was a housewife and mother and enjoyed greeting friends and neighbors as an election poll worker at Jefferson Junior High. She was active at First Presbyterian Church with the Mariners group and as a deacon and Helpline volunteer. She continued to call and check on friends and acquaintances on the phone until recently. She remembered everyone's birthday and sent cards, as well as writing letters. She read newspapers, magazines, and books and shared them with friends and relatives. She loved music, especially at church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; parents, Myrle and Warren Lambert; brother, Bill Lambert; and grandnephew, Jeff Little. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Cunningham and husband, Paul; sons, Rev. Jim Arnot and wife, Nancy of Gahanna, OH and Gene Arnot and wife, Dona; niece, Renee Little and husband, Chet of Toole, UT; granddaughters, DeeDee Butterfield and husband, Pete, Debra Arnot and Alicia Cunningham; grandsons, Michael Arnot of Irvine, CA, Mark Arnot of Columbus, OH and Nathan Cunningham; grandnephew, Damon Little of Austin, TX; great-granddaughters, Allison, Cori D'Layne, and Madison. Cremation and private interment will take place. A memorial service will be planned at a later date. BORDELON -- Allene Gryniewicz Beekman, 58 years old, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Life Care Center of Evergreen, CO, on February 3, 2006. Born in Albuquerque, NM, a graduate of St. Pius High School, 1965, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Margaret Bordelon. She was a professional airline hostess for the Continental Airline. She is survived by her son, J.E. Gryniewichz of Littleton, CO; her sisters, Shirley Forbes and husband, Louis, of Albuquerque, NM, Barbara Corson of Houston, TX, Cynthia O'Meara and husband, John of Louisville, CO, De Horstman of Mesa, AZ, Suzanne Bilby and husband Richard of Scottsdale, AZ and numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Littleton, CO and interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Wheat Ridge, CO. Memorial contributions can be sent to Chase Bank of Littleton, 5734 S. Prince St., Littleton, CO 80102 under the name of J. Gryniewicz. The funds will honor Allene with a tree planted in the Memorial Park in Littleton, and a contribution, in her name, to the Children's Library in Littleton, CO.

BROTHERTON -- JEROLD H. Brian Baker and his wife, Tracie would like to notify friends of the demise of his grandfather, Jerold H. Brotherton on Wednesday, February 22, 2006. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rebecca Catherine Brotherton (nee Riggs); his children, Linda Sue Baker of Albuquerque and Charles William Brotherton of Colorado Springs, CO; and his nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Jerold was born on February 4, 1921 in Carrollton, MO. Professionally he was involved in the food industry, starting two different food establishments in the Albuquerque metro area. He spent the last 30 years of his career as a ranch manager in Placitas. But, closest to his heart was his spiritual life. He symbolized his dedication to his God on July 2, 1949. He was a minister of Jehovah's Witnesses for 57 years in several congregations. His skills and talents in food service coordination and cooking allowed him to be used at large conventions of Jehovah's Witnesses where he would cook for thousands in a timely and efficient manner. He was a common sight in the cook tents on the weekends when any congregation in the southwest would be building a new Kingdom Hall. The kind and empathetic care given him during his last year by Quality Continuum Hospice is gratefully acknowledged by his whole family. French Mortuary is taking care of the final arrangements. The Funeral will be held on March 4, 2006, 3 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, at 8904 Menaul NE, in Albuquerque.

BUSTAMANTE -- Arturo Eloy Bustamante, age 85, a lifelong resident of Belen, NM peacefully joined his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 24, 2006. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, St. Vincent de Paul Society, and Knights of Columbus. He served as a union steward for the Carmen of America for many years while working for the Santa Fe Railroad. He retired after 40 years of dedicated and loyal service. Arturo proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII as an antiaircraft machinegun instructor on B-17s. In his youth, he was active in Belen sports, boxing in Golden Gloves competitions and lettering in high school football. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel "Sam" Bustamante and Adelina Salas Bustamante; and sisters, Ruby Armijo, Stella Chavez, and Rose Maestas. Arturo is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Dora Bustamante of Belen; his children, Arturo Bustamante, Jr. of Belen, R. Gene Bustamante and his wife, Geraldine of Albuquerque, NM, Rosanne McNiel and her husband, Danny of Peralta, NM, Thomas Bustamante and his wife, Betty of Santa Fe, NM, and Max Bustamante and his wife, Kim of Albuquerque; nine grandchildren, Gene Bustamante, Lynne Sanchez, Bobby McNiel, John Bustamante, Chris McNiel, Adam, Julia, Wendy, and Chantal Bustamante; four great-grandchildren; sister, Lucille Dixon; brothers, Manuel, Daniel, and Leroy Bustamante; and many loving nieces nephews and friends. DONALDSON -- James Richard Donaldson, 75, died in hospice inpatient Wednesday, February 1, 2006. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Marian; his four stepchildren; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Staff Sgt. Donaldson was born July 23, 1930 in Washington, DC. He joined the Army in 1950. He served in Korea, Vietnam, Guam, Germany. and Japan. He retired in September 30, 1975 and later worked at the VA Hospital as a Dental Lab Technician. He was a member of the VFW Post 5890 and the American Legion Post No. 0014. Cremation has taken place and a Graveside Service will be held at Jefferson Barracks, St. Louis. ELY -- Kathryn "Katy" Lou McIntosh Ely, 82, was born on Tuesday, April 10, 1923 and passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2006. She is survived by six children, David Ely, Todd Ely and wife, Terry, Melissa Ely Martinez and husband, Louis, all of Albuquerque, Erin Ely and Doug Bielefeldt of Eugene OR, Therese Ely-Schmitter and husband, Dan of Seattle, WA, and Laura Ely of San Diego, CA; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and brother, Burns Geddes McIntosh Jr. and wife, Jeanne of Albuquerque. She was born and raised in Albuquerque and lived in the Country Club area and was a supporter of Downtown. Katy attended Miss Willy's Happy School, Washington Jr. High School, Sandia School for girls, Ward Belmont School for Young Ladies in Nashville, TN and graduated from Albuquerque High School. She went on with her education at the University of New Mexico and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts in 1945. At UNM she was very active in the Rodey Theatre activities and was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. During her younger years she was a tap and toe dancer with Mrs. Knight's Dancing School. Before her illness, Katy was especially fond of spending her summers in her condo in Cannon Beach, OR, where she had many friends. Being interested in politics, Katy was active with the Republican Party, she was involved with David Cargo's Gubenatorial campaign. She ran for office for the APS Board and State House of Representatives. Katy was very active in the Arts Community and served on the New Mexico Arts Commission for many years having been appointed first by Gov. David Cargo, then re-appointed by Gov. Bruce King. She was active in the Junior League of Albuquerque for many years and loved to play bridge with her friends. Katy enjoyed traveling and never missed a party, she loved socializing with her friends and family. She had many friends and was especially proud of her children and grandchildren, and all of their accomplishments. GARLAND -- Norma Gene Garland, 73, a resident of Sandia Park, NM, died Friday, February 24, 2006. Norma Garland, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, is survived by her son, Bryan Garland and wife, Melissa of Firestone, CO; three daughters, Naomi Lisby of Littleton, CO, Marlena Garland and husband, Federico Ciampa of Los Angeles, CA and Mary Lavina Garland of Sandia Park; grandchildren, Leslie Devonshire, Quintin Mahan, Dainera Mahan, Zane Ciampa, Isabella Ciampa, William Daniel Garland, and Hannah Garland; sisters, Freda Beam and husband, J. L Beam and Elaine Clarence and husband, Wesley Clarence; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Robert Garland in 1987; son, William Earl Garland in 2004; mother, Millie Louvina Bassett Farmer in 1981; father, Fredrick Lee Farmer in 1959; and sister, Dorothy Evelyn Farmer in 1942. Mrs. Garland was a school bus driver for twenty eight years for Mountain Bus Company. She was awarded Albuquerque Public Schools' School Bus Driver of the Month in February 1989 and also School Bus Driver of the year for 1989. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. We will remember her for her quiet strength and beautiful soul. HODOCK -- Joseph M. Hodock, age 59, died Friday, February 24, 2006 after a valiant battle with leukemia. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Maureen; his children, Michael, Stephen, Katharine, Analiese, and John; his mother, Mary Hodock; sisters, Barbara Hodock, Teresa Hodock, Suzie Duff, husband, Lee; nephew, Colin Duff, wife, Heidi, their son, Tristin; and niece, Megan Schuller, husband, Robert. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Hodock. Joseph lived in Albuquerque for over 50 years. He graduated from St. Pius X High School, class of 1964; Creighton University in 1968; Master's Degree UNM in 1978. Major Hodock served in the U.S. Army for six years with the 2nd Armored Cavalry and 15 years with the Army Reserves. Joe is well known in the insurance community throughout the Southwest. Joe was an active member of Our Lady of Annunciation Parish and was actively involved with his children at St. Pius X. MASTRIANA -- Neva Cornelia Mastriana, 89, a resident of the Rio Rancho/Taylor Ranch area for the past six years, died peacefully during the early morning of February 22, 2006. She was born one of four children on January 9, 1917, in San Francisco, CA, to Thomas Talus and Neva Olivette Scott. In 1938 she married Jack Johannes. They spent many happy years together in San Francisco, Los Gatos and San Jose, CA, until Jack's death in 1977. In 1979 she married Joe Mastriana, and the two of them eventually moved to Paradise, CA. After Joe's death, she relocated to New Mexico in 2000 to be near her daughter and grandchildren. Neva was a beautiful, loving and caring person who had a wonderful life. She had a strong spirit and a great sense of humor. She loved listening to and playing music, dancing, sewing, reading, her family, the ocean, and peanut butter! As a young woman, Neva sold music and did the bookkeeping at her uncle's record/TV repair shop in Los Gatos, CA. She was a natural and accomplished seamstress most of her life. For a decade and a half she was a popular square dance caller and teacher. She traveled throughout California and surrounding states calling hoedowns for other dance clubs besides having three of her own clubs back home. She is survived by her daughter, Katherine Dausses and husband, Richard of Rio Rancho; her sister, Jean Kelly of Paradise, CA; and her brother, Johnny Talus and wife, Rita of Riviera, AZ; grandchildren, Jackie Caballero of Santa Fe, Georgina Caballero of Las Vegas, NV, and Kristina Nelson and husband, Gordon of Las Cruces; and great-grandchild, Cassandra Perez of Santa Fe. The family appreciates and thanks the Mariah House staff and Lovelace and Zia Hospice staff for taking such loving care of Neva. She moved to Albuquerque from Havana, IL in November 1956. She retired from Sunwest Bank in 1991 after 34 years of service. She had served as secretary to the President and CEO. MONTI -- TONY. It is with great sadness the family of Tony Monti announces his death on the morning of February 23, 2006 after a short illness. His was a life well lived. He possessed a kind and generous heart, a quick temper, and an adventurous spirit. The great adventure of his youth was the time he spent in North Africa and Italy as a radio operator for the OSS. His next great adventure was the years he spent being a husband and father. He spent his final adventure enjoying the things that interested him. . . politics, people, computers, and most of all his family. MOORE -- Dolores Garcia Moore entered into rest on February 23, 2006 after fighting a brave, hard, but short lived battle with lung cancer. She was born April 10, 1930 in San Acacia, NM. Dolores lived in Socorro, NM for most of her life until she relocated to Albuquerque. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Julian and Rosa Garcia; brothers, Lorenzo and Matias, her son, Richard; and two daughters, Virginia and Jesusita. She is survived by her son, John Anaya of Albuquerque; daughters, Liz Abalos of Denver, CO, and Adella Meuller of Kansas City, KS, Eva Kempton of Socorro, NM, and Valentina Soto of Albuquerque; sisters, Mary Otero of Los Lunas, NM, Lucy Newton and husband, Bill of Elephant Butte, NM, and Olivia Arbuckle of Normal, IL; brothers, Julian Garcia Jr., and his wife, Priscilla of Elephant Butte, NM, and Raymond Garcia and his wife, Lucy of Socorro, NM. Dolores is also survived by her 23 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Dolores will always be remembered by her quote, "I wished I would have never started smoking." She was a strong and loving mother. We will miss her dearly. PAEZ -- Margarita Stelzner Paez died peacefully at the age of 92 on February 20, 2006. She is survived by her sons, Luis, Bill, and Alex; her daughters-in-law, Patricia and Isabelita; her grandchildren, Sarah and her husband, Dave, Alex and his partner, Janell, John and his wife, Kelly, Lucy, Mark, Nick, Dylan, and Jamie; her great-grandchildren, Andrew, Daniel, and Kristen; and many loving nieces and nephews. Margarita was born in Durango, Mexico, moved to San Antonio and spent most of her life in Los Angeles. She was a legal secretary in the 1930s and 40s and won a prize for her essay on becoming a U.S. citizen in the 1950s. She was a home care nurse in the 1970s and then moved to Albuquerque to be with her son's family where she found "peace, tranquility, and well being." She managed her apartments during the 1990s until into her 80s. She was a strong role model and loving presence for all of her family and will be missed. Her family is grateful for all of the loving support of their friends and the staff of the Cottages in the last years of Margarita's life. Funeral Mass will be held at Risen Saviour Church on April 8, 2006 at 9:30 a.m.

PRITCHETT -- Virgil Pritchett 1933 - 2006 Virgil went to be with our lord on Febuary 21, 2006 in Riverside, CA. He is survived by his children: Virgil Jr. of Riverside, Carol Howe of Riverside, CA, and Robert Pritchett of Albuquerque; four grandchildren, Letecia Kock, Patrick and Garrett McCall, and Gunnar Howe; one great-granddaughter, Charis Caroline Kock, all of Riverside, CA; his step-daughter, Bonnie June Shivers of Las Vegas, NM; his sister and brother in law, Phyllis and Robert McConkie of Las Cruses, NM; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a very dear friend, Ramona Garcia of Albuquerque. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, he served many years in the United Methodist Mens Conference, president for 5 years. He worked many years serving his community; he worked for Goodwill Industries from 1966-1979 then for the Store House in Albuquerque from 1980-1994 until he retired, he then began to volunteer anything and everything to his many friends in Albuquerque, and especially the Encino House.

SHERIFF -- Margaret Lillian Blanton Ballinger Sheriff, 80, born to Ralph and Edna Blanton, May 17, 1925, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior Christ Jesus on Friday, February 24, 2006. She was preceded in death by her WWII love, Joseph Ballinger and is survived by their children: Steve and Lyn Ballinger, Judy and Bill Baxter, Joanne and Lowell Pearson, and Susan and Toby Blossom; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Also preceding her in death was her "late in life" love, Truett Sheriff and is survived by his children: Monica and Gary Landreth, Randall and Mary Sheriff, Jane and Earl Ramsey, and John and Carol Sheriff; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. After the death of her first husband, Margaret went back to school and earned an Associate's Degree in Senior Adult Studies and began working in the C.A.R.E. Senior Adult Ministry at the First Baptist Church. In 1983, she married Truett Sheriff, the co-founder of C.A.R.E. They continued serving together in C.A.R.E. for almost 20 years, until his death in 2003. She continued serving in C.A.R.E. until 2005 when she became homebound. Services celebrating Margaret's life will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2006, 11:00 a.m., at First Baptist Church, 101 Broadway NE. TITMAN -- Laurence Wilson Titman, 95, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, December 4, 2005, in a local nursing home. He had been a resident of Albuquerque since 1948. Laurence was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Euleta, who died in 1978. He is survived by a daughter, Jo Mahoney Titman Ryan, and a son, Laurence Bunnell Titman, both of Albuquerque; and a granddaughter, Rachel Ryan of Playa del Rey, CA. Laurence was born on July 15, 1910, to Philip and Grace Titman at Auburn Four Corners, PA. He was a 1931 graduate of Vermont Academy in Saxtons River, VT. Retired since 1975, he had been a building supply salesman for the Jay Grear Corporation, Sanbusco, and Reeves Pipe and Supply in succession over a 27-year period. Laurence was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR). A private memorial service took place at the Columbarium in St. John's Episcopal Cathedral on January 20, 2006 with the Rev.
