COKER -- David L. Born March 15, 1954 in Albuquerque, NM; passed away December 12, 2005 in Studio City, CA. David was a loving husband to Laura and a devoted and nurturing father to Miranda Blair and Sarah Denise. He is also survived by his parents - Jacqueline and Donald Schlegel of Albuquerque, Sharon and Carl Coker, of Las Cruces, NM. He was especially close to his brother, John Schlegel and his wife, Jill. He lost his sister, Blair, in March of 2004. He leaves behind his sisters, Vanessa Arrieta, her husband, Mannie and children, Zachary, Kylie, and Jesse; Robyn Schlegel, her husband, John Casto and son, Jonathan; Marny Whiteaker and her husband, Ralph and children, Amina and Bree. He also leaves another brother, Kip Schlegel, his wife, Whitney and children, Paul and Corey. Interment will be at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, CA.

DONALSON -- William Coy Donalson, 91, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2005. He was born in Lawton, OK and served in WWII. (Bill) Donalson worked for the Santa Fe Railway for 31 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church for 41 years. Mr. Donalson was preceded in death by his first wife, Mattie Ora Donalson. He is survived by his wife, Marcelle Donalson of the family home; five sons, Jerry Donalson and wife, Joan, of Albuquerque, Charlie Donalson and wife, Pat, of El Paso, TX, Mike Carlisle and wife, Sandy, of Tacoma, WA, Clay Carlisle and wife, Bernice, and Robert Carlisle and wife, Cathy, of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Tom and Rhonda Donalson, Kathleen Donalson, Nancy and Matt Mylan, Andrew and Jennifer Donalson, Tricia and Clay Ryan, Tara and Kevin Peet, Maryann Carlisle, Robbie Carlisle, Jordan Carlisle; five step-grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. GIRONDA -- Joe Gironda, 75, an Albuquerque resident since 1972, died Monday, December 26, 2005. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Gironda of Albuquerque; sons, Eric Gironda and wife, Elisa of Boise, ID, Paul Gironda and wife, Kellie of Mandeville, LA, Craig Gironda of Kenner, LA; daughters, Lise Stephenson of Metairie, LA, Leslie Petty and husband, Tom of Slidell, LA, Leona (Binkie) DeNardi and husband, Jeff of Mason, OH; step-sons, Michael Pittman and wife, Cari of Claremore, OK, John Pittman and wife, Lesley of Las Vegas, NV, David Pittman and wife, Wendy of Albuquerque; step-daughter, Debbie Butler of Albuquerque; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; brothers, Frank Gironda of Sanders, CA, Lionel Gironda and wife, Joanie of Mesa, AZ, David Gironda and wife, Jan of Phoenix, AZ; sisters, Mary McMahon of Marietta, GA, Frances Barbaro and husband, Mike of Albion, CA, Thelma Knebel and husband, Jim of Prescott, AZ and Laurie Comeau of Glendale, AZ; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Vic Gironda and sister, Leona Miller. He was retired from the U.S. Coast Guard and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Joe was a member of the NM Fleet Reserve and American Legion Post # 49. He was a member of the Shrine of St. Bernadette where he was active in the 10:45 a.m. choir. Joe loved to sing and participated in Karaoke and he actually recorded a CD of his favorite songs. Joe was an avid golfer and over the past several years he was a member of the Albuquerque Senior Golf Association and the NM Senior Golf Association. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 30, 2005 at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd NE with Deacon Al McLane reciting. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, December 31, 2005 at the Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11401 Indian School Rd. NE with Father Norbert Chung, celebrant. HAMILTON -- Lilla E. (Austin) Hamilton, 89, of Albuquerque, NM died Wednesday, December 28, 2005 in her daughter's home in Placitas, NM. She leaves one daughter, Carla J. LaFave of Placitas, NM; one son, Gene H. Trepanier, Warner Robins, GA; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nephews, nieces, and grand-nephews and grand-nieces. Her brothers, Alton Austin, Carlton Austin, and sister, Rena A, Campbell had predeceased her. She was born in Canaan, ME, daughter of Willie D. and Mida Bell (Whitney) Austin and had lived in Worcester, MA before moving to Albuquerque. She had been an office worker in Westbrook, ME Community Hospital. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 2, 2006, in Tramway Community Church, 4800 Tramway Ridge NE. KEEGAN -- Leo Thomas Keegan, 81, an Albuquerque resident since 1972, died Wednesday, December 28, 2005. He is survived by his wife, JoAn Keegan of Albuquerque; son, James Keegan and wife, Sherri of Alamogordo; daughters, Kay Hardin and husband, Randy of Midland, TX and Virginia Sue Keegan of Midland, TX; step-son, Bill Kindred of Albuquerque; step-daughter, Debbie Earickson and husband, Art of Rio Rancho, NM; grandchildren, Aubery and Kendall Pavlis of Midland, TX, Megan and Jarad Earickson of Rio Rancho, NM; many nieces and nephews in NY. Mr. Keegan was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran and served in the European Theater during WWII and also the Korean Conflict. Leo was a member of VFW Post 4149 in Midland, TX. MONTOYA -- Gabriel Montoya Jr., age 96, passed away, Wednesday, December 28, 2005. Today the world has lost a very, very kind, gentle, and Christian man. Born in Gallina, NM to Gabriel Sr. and Inesita Cordova Montoya, he was raised in Cuba, NM and Married Eva G. Montoya on February 29, 1932. Preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Gabriel is survived by his son, Adam M. Montoya Sr. and Patricia "Pinkie" Sena; his brother, Eli and his wife, Susie; his sister, Lucila Cardenas and husband, Joe; his grandchildren, Ivy Pearl McVay and husband, Daniel, Rachael Pam Newkirk and husband, Michael, Daphne Montoya and Greta Clifton, Denise Montoya and Brenda Moffett, Tina Dorado and husband, Steve, Adam Montoya II and wife, Bernadette. Gabriel had 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, Tyler Clifton. A Viewing and Memorial Services will be held in Cuba at the Assembly of God Church, Sunday, January 1, 2006 at 3:00 p.m., with viewing beginning at 2:00 p.m. The Funeral Services and viewing will be held at the Cuba Assembly of God on Monday, January 2, 2006 at 11:00 a.m., with the viewing beginning at 10:00. PICKETT -- Dorothy T. Pickett, 79, died December 23, 2005 in her sleep at her residence. She was born September 14, 1926, in Detroit, MI to Joseph and Frances Strempeck. She traveled between Florida and Michigan through her young adult life before marrying her first husband, Oscar Homer. They moved to New Mexico in 1955 where she resided until 2002. She moved to Alaska in August 2002 after the death of her second husband, Forrest L. Pickett. Her travels brought her to Alaska to be closer to family. Dorothy was a homemaker and a "jack of all trades." Through her youth she worked with family on carnival attractions and even did side shows with the western movie actor Tom Mix. As her travels broadened, she had numerous jobs to include being a plain clothes security officer for several department stores. She enjoyed nabbing the bad guys. Her favorite hobby was doll collecting. Her collections won awards in New Mexico and she was citied as an authority for antique doll restoration. She enjoyed gold panning and playing pool. Quilting and sewing also filled her hobby list. She was preceded in death by her second husband, Forrest Pickett. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Shaw; son and spouse, Robert and Cindy Homer and their children. A Memorial Service will be planned in New Mexico at a date yet to be determined. RHATIGAN -- Marcella Dolan Rhatigan was born July 21, 1914 in Catlin, IL to Adelaide and William Dolan. Her only sibling Bill, born in 1916, a Lieutenant in the Army, was killed in The Battle of the Bulge in 1944. Marcella graduated from St. Mary-of-the-Woods College in 1936 and began a teaching career in Chicago, IL. In 1952, she accepted a teaching position with the Department of Defense and moved to Tokyo, Japan. She taught at Yoyogi Elementary School in the American Army base of Washington Heights. While in Japan she met her future husband, Capt. Edwin T. Rhatigan and they were married in 1954. She continued teaching until they rotated back to Fort Meade, MD in 1956. They, along with son Steven, lived in Fairfax, VA; Fort Leavenworth, KS; Frankfurt, Germany; Heidelberg, Germany; Piraeus, Greece; Honolulu, HI and Fort Huachuca, AZ before a final posting at Arlington Hall, VA. In 1974, after Ed's retirement as ASA Chief Signal Officer, they moved to Albuquerque, NM where they built their dream home in Paradise Hills. They were both active in civic and political activities until Ed's death in 1987. She decided to move to the Army Residence Community in San Antonio, TX to be closer to her son, daughter-in-law Sharon and grandchildren Sarah and Sean who live in the Houston, TX area. Marcella was involved in many Catholic based charities, especially those for the care of retired nuns and priests, as well as her alma mater, St. Mary-of-the-Woods. She was also an active member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church and the Retired Army Officer's Association. She believed that it was important to provide for others and acted on this belief for her entire life. In her later years, she was fortunate to have such dedicated aides as Deborah Jacobs, Nomely "Bunny" Costo and Evelyn Marie Edmondson. They cared for her as if she were family and were with her as she peacefully passed from this earth on Friday, December 23, 2005 . She is now with her Lord; her mother and father; brother, Bill; husband, Ed; and many other friends and relatives who encompassed her remarkable life. Marcella was a wonderful teacher, wife, mother, and friend and will be missed by those who knew her. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. ROHRIG -- Martha Rohrig, 86, a 3-year Albuquerque resident, died Wednesday, December 28, 2005. She is survived by her son, Bill Rohrig and wife, Sherry of Albuquerque; daughter, Jane Marsden and husband, Jim of Flagler Beach, FL; grandchildren, Scott and Brent Rohrig, Jennifer Walker, and Guy Easterday; great-grandson, Nathan Walker. Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Rohrig. She was active with the Bear Canyon Senior Center. Martha was an avid golfer and she enjoyed traveling. SCHNITZ -- Mark Gary Schnitz, 26, our beloved son, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 23, 2005. He was born on June 1, 1979 in Orange, CA. He graduated from Manzano High School in 1998. TORRES -- George J. Torres Sr., 91, died prayerfully on the Feast of the Holy Innocents, Wednesday, December 28, 2005. A Rosary will be prayed at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish (Lomas at Tennessee, NE) at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 30, 2005. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery (Edith Blvd. NE). Mr. Torres, a native of Albuquerque, worked in the shipyards in San Pedro, CA, during WWII. After the war he returned to Albuquerque to work at Sandia National Laboratories from where he retired in 1973. Mr. Torres was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Alice Skinner Torres. He is survived by six children: Carole (Bud) Silloway, George Jr. (Loretta), Frank (Arcie), Irene (Mohamed) El-Genk, Christine (Donald) Gonzales, and Ray (Mary); 12 grandchildren: Chuck, Steve, and Glen (Silloway), Georgina Polson, Dan Torres, Tammara Torres, Laureen Kramer, Frank Torres, Jr., Catherine Schwartz, Hussein El-Genk, Sarah and Christopher Torres; nine great-grandchildren; four sisters: Isabelle Carrasco, Carmen Lewis, Margaret Gonzales, and Katherine Soto; and six nieces and nephews. WEAVER -- Halene Weaver passed away in Chandler, AZ, December 21, 2005, at age 89, six days prior to her 90th birthday. Her husband C. R. "Dogie" Weaver predeceased her by several years. She is survived by her three sons, Bill, Leonard "Rusty" and Bob. Her family also included her sister, Betty (deceased) and Betty's children a son and three daughters all living in Florida with their families. Halene was a well known educator who retired from both the public school system in Tucson, AZ and from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. During her younger years in Ironton, OH, she appeared in stage plays, was an operatic soprano, and valedictorian of her high school class. She received her degree from Wooster College. Her professional contributions included the initial evaluation for the Head Start program, and she was cited for her work in early childhood education in New Mexico, as well as nationally and internationally. Halene will be missed by her family and the multitude of teachers and children who learned from her. A Memorial will be held in Albuquerque, NM, on a date to be announced.

WOOD -- Patricia Ann Wood, 74, a resident of Albuquerque, NM passed away on December 28, 2005. Mrs. Wood was born on August 7, 1931 to Herman and Jettie Hogan of Albuquerque. She married her true love, Joe Wood, on August 1, 1959. She is predeceased by her parents, and her siblings: Elizabeth, Vesta, and Betty. Patty is survived by her husband of 46 years; her children, Bill Wood and his wife, Faye, and Joe Wood and his wife, Stephanie, both of Birmingham, AL; her step-children, Billy, Karen, and Debbie; her brother, Bill Hogan; her sister, June Clark; and 15 grandchildren. A viewing and visitation will be held on Friday, December 30, 2005 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Sunrise Funeral Options. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. Mrs. Wood will be laid to rest at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
