CHAVEZ -- Tina Chavez died Thursday, September 1, 2005 at the age of 85. She is survived by her four children, Gloria Encinias and husband, Dan, Ann Asmus and husband, Phil, Rick Chavez, and Lupe Chavez. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mrs. Chavez will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at the Chapel of Mt. ELMORE -- Gladys Elizabeth Free Elmore was born to John William Free and Onie Ocie Shaw Free on May 23, 1922 in Minco, Oklahoma. She was the second of five children and the only daughter. Gladys married Kellous Warren "KW" Elmore on September 13, 1945 in Gainsville, Texas. Following his death in 1967, she continued raising their four daughters as she sought employment outside the home. After working in home furnishings at Montgomery Ward, she began a fifteen year association with AT&T as a long distance operator. Upon retiring, she moved from Albuquerque to Edgewood where she remained until her peaceful death on September 3, 2005. She joined our Lord following respiratory failure resulting from pneumonia. She was preceded in death by her husband and four brothers, Ira Robert, J. B., Delbert and Vernon Lee. She is survived by daughters, Diana Ward and husband, Roger of Fairview, Oklahoma, Shirley Barlow and husband, Bill of Edgewood, New Mexico, Jeanie Nelson and husband, Tom and Frankie Jo Elmore and partner, Barb LeDoux of Aurora, Colorado. Gladys also leaves grandsons, Josh and Jonathan Nelson; granddaughters, Kim Barlow and Rinda Bowden and; great-granddaughters Kayli Nelson and Austynn Dodson. She is at rest. GARCIA -- Ana Maria S. passed away on August 31, 2005 after a long illness. She is survived by her husband, Ramon J. Garcia Sr., of 52 years of marriage. She is also survived by seven children: Mary E. Chavez, Eulogio S. Garcia, Susan R. Gallegos, Ray Garcia, Genoveva Garcia, Arturo R. Garcia, and Lisa E. Garcia; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A Rosary in her honor will be held at St. Therese Little Flower Church on Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at 7 p.m. A Burial Service will be held at a later date at St. Genevieve's Church in Las Cruces, NM.

LONG -- Dorothy Lea Long, 91, passed away peacefully in her sleep September 3, 2005. She was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque and was born in Barton, New Mexico on December 19, 1913. Her parents, Wallace B. and Ida Jones, were homesteaders in the Barton area. She was a graduate of Albuquerque High School and received her teaching certificate from New Mexico Highlands University. She retired from Federal Civil Service as a secretary at Sandia Base. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling and going on cruises. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Michael Long; her son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Dee Dee Rich of Albuquerque; three grandchildren, Cory Rich and his wife, Polly, Julie Padilla and her husband, Victor, all of Albuquerque, and Lisa Smith and her husband, Doug of Parker, Colorado; and five great-grandchildren; Ashley Rich, Enzo and Otto Padilla, and Taylor and Mason Smith. ROBERTSON -- Kathaleen Kizer Robertson, 83, a resident of Albuquerque, went home to be with the Lord on September 3, 2005. She was born on March 10, 1922, in Dermott, Arkansas to James and Lilly Kizer and was raised with four half-brothers; Jack Hulett, Thomas Hulett (deceased), Billy Hulett (deceased) and James Hulett. She married James Robertson in 1940, and was preceded in death by him in 1995. During their life together they traveled all over the world and in their later years they enjoyed camping with friends and doing craft shows. Kathaleen and Jimmy had four daughters; Mary Kathaleen who died at birth; Patricia Murphy and husband, Art of Colon, MI, Kathaleen Ann Powell and husband, John of Edgewood, NM, and Barbara J. Young and husband, Ed of Albuquerque. Kathaleen boasts of five grandchildren; James R. Salmans, Patrick Salmans, Sara Kizer Murphy, Jennifer N. Young and Joshua M. Young; two great-grandchildren; and special friends, Mike and Debbie Smartnick. Kathaleen was a member of East Gate Foursquare Church. She was also an avid bridge player and enjoyed the world famous "Cat Who ..." books. Kathaleen loved her many friends and family and enjoyed many activities with her grandchildren. She never missed a birthday or any other holiday without sending cards and gifts. "She was loving and beloved." Services will be held at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd NE, at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2005. Friends may visit from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2005. ROYBAL -- Dolores Annamarie Roybal passed away on September 1, 2005. She was born on July 3, 1941 in Las Vegas, NM. She is survived by her mother, Sabina Roybal of Las Vegas, NM; brothers, Gilbert Roybal and wife, Tommie of Albuquerque, Ray Roybal and wife, Carolina of Santa Rosa, NM and Gerald Roybal of Las Vegas, NM; uncles, Ben Lucero and wife, Ellie of Albuquerque, Alex Lucero and wife, Martha of California; aunt, Aurora Pacheco of Belaire, CA; and several nieces and nephews. SELIGMAN -- Milton S. Seligman, born May 31, 1914, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2005. A member of a New Mexico pioneer family, he was born to Meta and Siegfried Seligman in Bernalillo, New Mexico. He is survived by his loving wife, Julia; and his adoring daughters and their spouses, Diana "Betsy" Gometz (Kenneth), Deborah Seligman (Robert Maw), Daryl "DeeDee" Diamond (Steven) and Donna Seligman. He is also survived by his grandson, David Scott Diamond. He practiced law in Albuquerque and Sandoval County for more than 65 years and was the longest actively practicing member of the New Mexico State Bar. He was a WWII veteran and also served in the NM Legislature. Milton was a prominent member of the community having served in many capacities in many civic organizations. Milton loved playing golf with his very special friends. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2005, 2:00 p.m., at Congregation Albert, 3800 Louisiana Blvd. NE. SNEED -- Twyla Teresa Sneed died August 27, 2005. She was a Navy Veteran and retired from Ohio Air National Guard. Survived by two sisters, five nephews, five nieces, and many friends. WELKER -- Margery Louise Welker, age 88, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, died Saturday, September 3, 2005, at The Waterford at Cowhorn Creek, Texarkana, Texas. Mrs. Welker was born December 23, 1916, in Blackcreek Township, Mercer County, Ohio, to Clate and Charlotte Maury Miller. Her husband, Paul D. Welker, preceded her in death in 1995. They resided in Albuquerque since 1950. She was Manager of the University of New Mexico Coronado Credit Union until her retirement in the early 1970's. Survivors include her son, Thomas Paul Welker of Albuquerque; her daughter and son-in-law, Marianne and Jim Mason of Texarkana, Texas; grandson Derek Mason and wife, Kelly of Rogers, Arkansas; and two great-grandsons, Adian and Ian Mason. In accord with her wishes, cremation has taken place and her ashes spread in The Rose Garden at Vista Verde Memorial Park in Albuquerque. Also in accord wih her desires, there will be no memorial services. Margery was a kind and beloved friend and family member whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
