ANDERSON -- James Linderoth Anderson, 80, passed away on August 21, 2005. He is survived by his three sons, Jerry, James Junior, and Jeffrey; as well as his grandson, James III. He was born in Washington State to immigrants from Denmark and Norway and inherited the wandering heart of a Viking. James first came to New Mexico following his service as a flight engineer in the 8th Army Air Corps, stationed in England and Germany during World War II. He arrived in New Mexico on the advice of bombardiers who had trained at Kirtland Air Force Base. He enrolled at the University of New Mexico and graduated from UNM in 1951 with a degree in civil engineering. It was the beginning of a long love for New Mexico. James made his home in Albuquerque for much of the last 2 decades, as well as for many years following World War II. In between, he spent numerous years living in Hawaii, Okinawa, and Korea. He had a long and prosperous career with the Army Corps of Engineers. He was married to Jean Reed, daughter of Viola and Homer Reed, a long-time printer for the Albuquerque Tribune. He is also survived by his second wife, Kim Ji-Sue, from Korea. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Strong-Thorne Mortuary (842-8800). Memorial Service will be held at Strong-Thorne Mortuary on Friday, August 26, 2005 at 1 p.m.

ANDREAS -- Estelle Bernadette Gamasche Andreas passed away Monday, August 22, 2005, after a brave battle with cancer. She was born in Chicago, IL on August 31, 1913. In later years she moved to Mundelein, IL. She worked at the Chicago Hardware Foundry for six years and later the Goodyear Company for 18 years in the payroll department, operating an IBM Keypunch, then computer. She retired in 1976 when she moved to Albuquerque to near her family here. She loved to travel and was a volunteer at St. Josephs Hospital and Bear Canyon Senior Center. Estelle is survived by her son, Ernest Andreas and wife, Peggy of Albuquerque; her daughter, Nikki Johnson and husband, Thor of Great Falls, VA. She is also survived by her four grandsons, Eric Andreas and wife, Margherita, Bryn Andreas and wife, Jennifer, all of Albuquerque, Kent Andreas and wife, Kelly of Eau Claire, WI, and Tor Johnson of Great Falls, VA; also four great- granddaughters, Regina, Julia, and Teddi Andreas of Albuquerque, and Kassidy Andreas of Eau Claire. Estelle has many friends in Albuquerque who will miss her cheerfulness. BRANNON -- Kathryn Faye Brannon, age 64, passed away August 19, 2005 in Farmington, NM. She was born to Julia (Polly) and Tom E. Kelton in Albuquerque, NM. She moved to Farmington in 1972. Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Tom Kelton. She is survived by her mother, Julia (Polly) Kelton; four sisters, Carolyn Peterson and husband, Gary of Kalamazoo, MI, Donna Holley of Rio Rancho, NM, Judith Rogers and her husband, Allen of Rio Rancho, and Laura Brown and her husband, Bruce of Loveland, CO; Alfred Ray Brannon of Mountainaire, NM; children, Lynette Singleton and her husband, Joe of Navajo Dam, NM, Charlotte Stock and her husband, Ed, of Colorado Springs, CO, Travis Brannon and his wife, Bobbie of Taylorsville, NC, and Jeremy Brannon and his wife, Roberta of Farmington, NM. She loved and adored her eight grandchildren, Joanna Torres and her husband, Tim; Amy Stock, Alicia Stock and her fiance, Nick Bingham, Allen Stock, Ryan and Randy Brannon, Bryan and Justin Brannon. She was a member of the Eastside Church of Christ and worked for Amigo Petroleum. She was an excellent cook and loved to take baked goods to her co-workers and church socials. Kathy was a loving mother, a good friend, She will be missed so much. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, August 22, 2005 at 6 p.m. at Eastside Church of Christ, 2012 Huntziner Ave. in Farmington, NM. A Graveside Service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque, NM, at 11:30 a.m. Friday with a luncheon to follow at Judy and Allen Rogers' Home in Rio Rancho. CARMAN -- THOMAS CARMAN, 82, a resident of Santa Cruz, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2005. He was preceded in death by his brother, Harry A. Carman and granddaughter, Katie Marie Carman. Thomas was a member of the American Legion. He served in WWII in the Army while in the Special Engineering Detachment. He received the "Meritorious Unit Award" the "Good Conduct Medal" and the "Victory Medal" while serving in the American Theater. He was an expert Marksman and specialized in explosives photography for the Manhattan Project in Los Alamos. He then worked for the Los Alamos National Laboratory until his retirement in 1983. Thomas is survived by his wife, Mary Carman of Santa Cruz; children, Carol and Diane Carman, both of Albuquerque, Robert Carman and wife, Robin of Santa Cruz, Thomas Carman and wife, Nancy of Rio Rancho, Paul Carman and wife, Kate of Colorado; granddaughters, Lauren, Cora, and Lily; grandson, Max; sister, Lois Snowden of Virginia; brother, Wayne Carman and wife, Judy of Georgia; and numerous other relatives and friends. CHAVEZ -- Shawntae Chavez, age 14, beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, and niece, was gently and lovingly wrapped in the arms of the Lord and taken home, Monday, August 22, 2005. Shawntae was a student at Valley High School; and excelled in many sports. She was a candidate for the Fiesta Queen at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish. Shawntae had many interests and had ambitions to attend college and someday be a Criminologist. Shawntae had a kind heart and often took others under her wing; she was a special person and precious angel to many; she will always be in our hearts. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Max S. Chavez; and paternal grandmother, Maria Sanchez. Shawntae is survived by her loving parents, Carla and Patrick Sanchez; her brother, Patrick Sanchez Jr.; half-sister, Anna Marie; maternal grandparents, Adelina and Fermin Baca; paternal grandparents, Ernestine and Reynaldo Sanchez, and Dolores Colson-White; great-grandparents, Grandma Maes, Olympia Serna and Fred White; numerous other beloved family members; and a host of friends. Shawntae will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those whose hearts she touched. CLIFFORD -- Esther Thompson Clifford, was born on September 27, 1917 in Casa Blanca, NM on the Laguna Pueblo Reservation. She married Morty S. Clifford on January 8, 1942. Esther worked as surgical nurse at the Santa Fe Indian Hospital for 30 some years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morty and Esther is survived by her daughter, Carla Clifford-Hunter; grandsons, Glenn C. Hunter and Curtis H. Hunter; one great-granddaughter, Alexis J. COOMBS -- Wilbur F. "Babe" Coombs passed peacefully in his sleep August 22, 2005. He is survived by his wife, Gloria of 58 years; and his sister, "Eddie" Sands. He had four children: Connie, Carla, Guy (Sherri), Tom E. (Sherri). He had nine grandchildren: Erika, Jacob, Korey, Jessie, Jamie, Bailey, Shanna, Taylor, and Tyler. CURCIO -- Katherine "Kay" J. Curcio, 54, died August 19, 2005, after a long illness. She was at home, surrounded by her family, at her time of her death. Kay is survived by her husband of 27 years, Joe; her daughters, Anna Marie Curcio, Theresa Curcio; sisters, Peggy Morris-Gonzalez, Patti Morris-Moreno, and Debbie Valencia; her mother-in-law, Shirley Curcio; many nephews and nieces; one great-nephew; and one great-niece. She was preceded in death by her parents, Morgan and Katherine Morris; grandson, Morgan Lee; brothers, Tom and Mickey. An Albuquerque native, Kay attended St. Mary's, St. Vincent's, St. Pius X, the University of Albuquerque, and graduated from TVI school of Inhalation Therapy. She served three years in the Navy as a CORPSWAVE. Kay met her future husband, Joe, while stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA. She was a Navy wife for 17 years, returning to Albuquerque when Joe retired from the Navy. Kay enjoyed gardening, animals, arts and crafts and cooking, especially making cookies and fudge and sending them to family and friends. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2005 at St. Anne Church. Burial will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ken Curcio, Brian Morris, Kevin Morris, Gordon Eden, Travis Eden and Larry Gutierrez. Honorary Pallbearers are Tiffany Gutierrez and Meghan Morris-Moreno.

DANIELS -- Robert Guy (Bobby) A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Robert Guy (Bobby) Daniels will be held on Friday, August 26, 2005 in Hobbs, NM. Turner, Hobbs, at 2:00 p.m. Bobby was born August 3, 1951 and died on August 13, 2005 in Beaumont, TX while visiting his mother, Libby Donley. His mother, Libby; and his sisters, Lt. FENTON -- Bob Memorial Celebration in Honor of Bob Fenton on Sunday, August 28, 2005 Bob Fenton, deceased son of Mac and Alice Fenton, made his transition on May 20, 2005 in Bellflower, California. He was 79. Bob was born in Albuquerque on October 14, 1925, but grew up on the Fenton Ranch in the Jemez Mountains in the family of Mac and Alice Fenton, along with brothers , Stuart and Charles and sisters, Mary and Jessie. He learned to play the fiddle by ear and played all his life with anyone who would play with him. After serving in the Navy in WW II, he attended New Mexico State University, graduating with a degree in animal science. He managed feedlot in Bakersfield, CA for several years. Later he became a USDA meat inspector in the Los Angeles area where he retired. He lived in Bellflower for 17 years. Bob played fiddle with a band and was popular playing in nursing homes in the area. His answering machine message was" Just out fiddling around. Leave a message." He is survived by his daughters, Lynn Anne Fenton and Rosemary Fenton; a grandson, Joshua Fenton; and sisters, Jessie Fitzgerald and Mary Caldwell. His parents and brothers predeceased him. A celebration of Bob's life will be held at the Fenton Ranch, on the part still owned by Mary F. Caldwell. The location is between the Manzano Fenton Ranch School and the Fish Hatchery on the east side of NM State Road 126. Y'all come and help us celebrate the life of a brother who was one fine fiddler. Bring your memories, fiddles and guitars and a pot luck dish if you want. You will be welcome any time between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Electricity is available.

GARCIA -- Teresita Ophelia Garcia "Phillie", was born in Las Vegas, NM, April 13, 1921. She passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2005 in Albuquerque where she resided for most of her life. Phillie retired from Sunbell of Albuquerque, where she worked as a jeweler. She thoroughly enjoyed riding the bus all over Albuquerque. JOHNSON -- Patricia D. Johnson, 80, of Albuquerque, died Sunday, August 21, 2005. She was born April 10, 1925, in Indianapolis, IN, to Elizabeth Vogt and Joseph L. Dailey Sr. She moved with her family to Albuquerque when she was six months old and was a resident here most of her life. She graduated from Sandia Girls School here and Smith College in Massachusetts. She was a health planner with the State of New Mexico Department of Health and Human Services for many years, retiring in 1987. She was known throughout the state for her work. As past state president of the New Mexico Chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), Pat's main pursuit was universal health care coverage for all. She was honored with the Silver Horizons New Mexico 2002 Senior Hall of Fame Award and recognized for her lifetime commitment to community service. She supported the Albuquerque Little Theatre, Albuquerque Civic Light Opera, and Albuquerque Zoo. She attended the Hillside Community Church at Jefferson and Zuni SE. Survivors include her four sons, Gregory F. Johnson and wife, Clara, Martin D. Johnson, William L. Johnson and wife, Teresa, and Steffen R. Johnson, all of Albuquerque; her brother, James F. Dailey of Toledo, OH; her sister, Pamela D. Gatschet of Syracuse, NY; her grandchildren, Allison, Amber and Courtney Johnson, and Joshua L. Ebberts; her great-grandchildren, Paris Ebberts, Veruca and Stewart Morgan; numerous nieces, nephews, and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph L. Dailey Jr. and her granddaughter, Gina M. Ebberts. LEWIS -- Evelyn Lewis, age 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1947, left this world Tuesday, August 23, 2005 to be with her Maker. She passed away peacefully, at home with her family at her side. She loved music and was an accomplished pianist. Evelyn many times played piano for the senior centers and the Hospitality House. She also got great pleasure from playing bridge and pinochle. She and her family owned several different businesses throughout the years. Her generosity and good-heartedness will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Floyd; daughters, Jean Conner and husband, Roy, Grace Lewis, Linda Olson and husband, Craig "Oly", Debbie Knauber and husband, Lee; sons, Michael Lewis, David Lewis and wife, Kay Schumacher, Stephen Lewis and wife, Megan, M.D.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; brothers, Vincent Newman and wife, Betty, Edward Newman and wife, Dottie; sister, Elsie Screnock. MARTINEZ -- Anthony Ray Martinez, born April 13, l950 of Cuba, and a long term resident of California, died in Menifee, CA on August 20, 2005. Mr. Martinez, a Vietnam Veteran, is survived by his wife, Pamela; his mother, Nancy; and step-father, Don Herrera of Albuquerque; stepmother, Esther Martinez of Cuba; brothers, Mark Martinez, Vincent Herrera; and sister, Luanna Avilucea. He was preceded in death by his father, Roberto A. Martinez and two brothers, Paul and David Herrera. "Buck" Rayburn in 1936 having known his family most of her life. "Buck" and Ora moved around New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma as a result of his employment with Kraft Foods during their life together. They originally moved to Albuquerque in 1948 and lived here until 1963 when they were transferred to Oklahoma City. They retired in Albuquerque in 1976. Her husband preceded Ora in death in 1986. Her daughter and husband, Rita and Herb Pitts, of Albuquerque and her sister, Marie Hawk of Oklahoma City, as well as several nieces and nephews survive her. Ora resided at La Vida Llena for the past three years. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service is scheduled at La Vida Llena, 10501 Lagrima de Oro NE at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 26, 2005. ROBERTSON -- Edward L. "Jim" Robertson, age 79, was born November 2, 1925 in Roanoke, VA. A resident of Albuquerque for over 40 years, he joined his beloved Kathy on Saturday, August 20, 2005. Predeceased by Katherine L. Robertson of Pro Mark Management, on January 16, 2002, Jim is survived by his children, Jim Robertson, Joan Robertson, Jill Robertson, Kimberly Robertson Bailey, Scott Sargent, and Robert Sargent; his grandchildren, Joel Shipman Jr, Brittiny Bailey, Skylar Sargent, Coltan and Stephan Sargent, Shea Sargent, Heather Sargent, Matthew Sargent, and Christopher Sargent. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and family services were held at the Santa Fe Veterans National Cemetery, interring both Jim and the true love of his life, Kathy. The family would like to express their greatest love and gratitude to Ty Babcock for her unwavering love and support during this time. It was truly her acts of love and grace that made Jim's passing the peaceful journey he wanted. SMITH -- Richard W. Smith Jr., 46, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, August 19, 2005. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Susan M. Smith of Tijeras; his daughter, Breanne Smith; parents, Loretta Wood and her husband, Jack Wood, of Albuquerque, and Richard W. SULLIVAN -- Sean Michael Sullivan, of Pasadena, CA, died in a sporting accident on August 20, 2005, at the age of 34. Sean was born March 27, 1971 in Denver, CO. He was raised in Albuquerque, NM and graduated from Eldorado High School. He received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Denver in 1993. An accomplished artist, animator and writer, he received his Masters Degree in Industrial Arts from the Art Center in Pasadena. Sean was very active in recovery in Pasadena and left an indelible imprint on the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Daniel Sullivan. Sean is survived by his mother, Delona "Beamer" Sullivan; his brother, Tory Sullivan; and the Funk Family. His mother and brother would like to express their deepest gratitude to Sean's many friends who have shown their overwhelming support and love during this very difficult time. The viewing will be held Saturday August 27, 2005 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Angeleno Pasadena Mortuary, 415 E. TRULL -- Margaret Aileen Trull, 83, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away peacefull in her sleep on August 22, 2005. Aileen was born April 25, 1922 in Shelley, ID to Benjamin and Minnie Sage. She graduated from Shelley High School in 1940. She married John M. Trull, in Jackpot, NV, and later moved to Albuquerque, NM. Aileen had dedicated her life to her family as well as providing over 25 years as a dedicated employee to the State of New Mexico (in various departments). She was best remembered for her sense of humor, love of life, family, and hard work. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and three sisters (Madeline Criddle, Theda Cartwright, and Ida McConville). Survivors are her sisters, Julia Russell, Enid Hardman, and Neva Miner; three children, John L Trull and wife, Joyce, Craig O'Trull and wife, Dolores, and Anita Criles-Andre and husband, Hal; six grandchildren, Tonjia Pitts, Marjorie Trull, Samantha Harrington, Cindy Grisham, Stephanie Cain and Jennifer Trull; and 18 great-grandchildren. WASKO -- Robert F., age 70, passed away on August 14, 2005 after a long illness. He was born on October 3 1934, in St. Paul MN. He was preceded in death by sons Charlie and Jim. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Barbara; son Dan and wife Diana; daughter Nancy Schober and husband Mike, and daughter Amy; grandchildren Kym, Savannah, Bryanna, Mitchell, Nickole and Alex. He is also survived by brothers Gil and wife June, Richard and wife Jere, and sister Dolores Glansman. Bob proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a member of fighter squadron VF-54 during the Korean Conflict. He was a loyal Minnesota Vikings fan and an avid golfer. Bob will be remembered by many as a fair and dedicated salesman and friend. He loved his family and friends dearly and will be missed by all who knew him. He was a devout Catholic and was a member since 1978 of Risen Savior Community Church where a celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2005. WELLS -- Geoffrey (Geoff) DuVall Wells, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away on July 18, 2005. He was born on December 23, 1931 in Chicago, IL. His parents, Merle and Sylvia Wells of Davenport, IA and his sister, Nancy DuVall Dietz of Albuquerque, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Anne; his four children, Bambi Williams and family of Scottsdale, AZ, Todd Wells and family of San Francisco, CA, Kimball Wells and family of South Lake, TX, and Stephanie Moore and family from Martinez, CA; and many other family and friends who will deeply miss him. WILLIAMS -- E. Jane Williams died Monday, August 22, 2005 in Franklin, TN. She was 89. Preceded in death by her parents, Elsie Hill and Fred Devoe Williams; her brothers, Robert Williams, Fred Williams, Jr., Allan Williams, Paul Williams; her sister, Grace Marion Williams, who died in infancy; and her nephew, Robert Williams Jr. Survived by nieces and nephews: Elsie MacMullin, Diane Nelson, Janet Royce, Liana Wallman, Allan Williams Jr., Fred Williams III, Marcia Williams; as well as by great-nieces and nephews. A poet, artist, and long-time resident of New Mexico, Jane grew up in Wayne, PA graduating from Radnor (PA) high school. She earned a BS from Sweet Briar College and a masters degree from Columbia University. During the Second World War, she served in India with the Red Cross. Upon returning, she studied art in the West, opening a gallery in Albuquerque's old town in 1948. Returning to teaching in the early 1950s, she taught English at Valley High School in Albuquerque until her retirement. She continues teaching, even in death, having donated her body to science. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 16, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at The Albuquerque Museum's auditorium.
