BULCOCK -- Carole Bulcock, age 57, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away Friday, July 1, 2005. She was known and loved as the business manager for Perfection Honda for many years. She was a great mother, grandmother, daughter, friend, and animal lover. She will be dearly missed by all. She is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Ryan and two granddaughters, Chelsea and Kirsten Ryan; long time love, Terry Williams; and her cat, Pootie. CRAIG -- Charlene Mullens Craig, a resident of Albuquerque since 1960, was born on November 21, 1927 in Kennett, MO, and died on Wednesday, June 29, 2005. As an infant she lost her parents and was raised by her grandmother. She grew up in Memphis, TN where she met and married her husband, Bill, on August 12, 1950. Charlene was a devout Christian her entire life, and she loved her church. For twenty-five years she was a member of Assistance League of Albuquerque and worked many hours as a volunteer in the League's Thrift Shop. She is survived by her husband, Bill; her daughter, Cindy Houston and husband Joe; grandchildren Matthew and Caitlin; her son, Frank and wife Yvonne; and granddaughter Annalise. Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, July 3, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 8600 Academy Rd. NE, 87111. ETHEREDGE -- Mary C. Etheredge, 89, a resident of Edgewood, NM since 1994, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family and sustained by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ until He called her home on Wednesday, June 29, 2005. She was born December 1, 1915 in Montgomery, AL to Fred E. and Thelma Sanderson Turnipseed. Mary and her husband, CH spent the majority of their life in Alabama but moved to Albuquerque in 1982. She was a loving, generous, and unselfish wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be missed very much by all whose lives she touched. She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Diane Day and husband, David E. Day of Edgewood, NM; sons, Clarence Holloway "Sonny" Etheredge, Jr. of Brewton, AL and James Randall Etheredge and wife, Donna J. of Cullman, AL; sister, Ethel M. Burnette of Birmingham, AL; 12 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Clarence Holloway "CH" Etheredge, Sr.; grandson, Steven Turner Day, and brother, Fred E. GAUNA-LOPEZ -- Miranda Sara Gauna-Lopez, infant daughter of Janet Gauna and Armando Lopez Jr., twin sister of Marissa Emma Gauna-Lopez and sister of Brittney Marie Gauna, entered the Kingdom of Heaven and Eternal life on June 24, 2005. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Edward A. Gauna. She is survived by her maternal grandmother, Jane Muller; her paternal grandparents, Jeri and Armando Lopez; aunts, Debra and Elizabeth Gauna and Michelle and Stephanie Lopez. She is also survived by her Godfather, Claudio L. Gonzales; and many cousins and numerous other relatives. MARGARD -- Janice E. Margard was born 88 years ago in Sandusky, Ohio where she and her husband courted at Lake Erie's Cedar Point Amusement Park to sounds from the Big Band Era! On June 23, 2005 her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, lifted her to heaven where she will forever praise Him for the great things He hath done. Jan was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Dr. Glenn Margard; as well as her brother, Herb Smith; and sister, Jean Hauser. Jan is survived by her Seattle son, Jim Margard and wife Casey (Parents of Kelly & Chris), and her Albuq. daughter, Kathi Margard with whom she lived over 55 years. Jan's Minneapolis daughter, Glory Lueck, wife of Robert, is the mother of Loring, Leah, and Melissa. Loring and Patrick Kaveney are parents of Daniel and Kayla; Leah and Cory La Vasseur, of Sophie, Luke, Marissa, Micah, and Allison; Melissa & Tom Tester, of Morgan and Julia; nine great-grandchildren to Janice! Other Ohio relatives have been very precious over the years. Before moving to Albuq. in 1953 for the Army, Jan used her Business College skills as secretary, bookkeeper, and keypunch operator with IBM (and later Sandia Base). Helping her hubby financially through Ohio U. in Athens, Northwestern in Chicago, and Case Western Reserve Medical School in Cleveland, Jan also spent countless hours typing papers and homework for Glenn (plus all three children in later years). Jan sewed adorable pinafores and coats for her two little girls and worked alongside her sweetheart to personally build their "Sweat-of-my-Brow" cottage at Heidelberg Beach on Lake Erie. Through the years Jan's most valuable and important work was being a helpmate to Glenn, an ever-present mother to her children, and a homemaker who made home the family's favorite place with her sunshine smile & loving spirit! Jan served in many organizations that involved her family: PTA, NM Society for Prevention of Blindness (officer), Bernalillo County Medical Society Women's Auxiliary (officer), Presbyterian Hospital Women's Auxiliary, PEO Sisterhood Chapter X (President Elect), and Mothers Club for Alpha Chi Omega Sorority (President). Some of her favorite activities have been bridge, mah-jongg, bingo, china painting, Bible Study Fellowship, the Golden Door Spa, reading newspapers, and poll working. Through the years she has been blessed by the ministry & fellowship of First Presbyterian Church, Grace Church, & Calvary Chapel of Alb. on Osuna. Jan's Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 2, at 4:30 p.m. in the Vineyard Retirement Community Clubhouse, 6118 Edith NE (between Montano and Osuna). Pastor Pete Nelson, Calvary Chapel of Albuq., will officiate. MCCABE -- Sheila S. McCabe, age 56 and a resident of Rio Rancho, was called home by our Heavenly Father on June 26, 2005, due to kidney failure from complications from diabetes. Sheila is survived by her loving husband, Leo; her son, Seth McCabe; and her daughter, Kelly Eggleston and her husband, Michael. Sheila was born in Sioux City, IA on May 30, 1949. Sheila was a Registered Nurse for over 30 years and has been an active member of Grace Outreach Church. Over the years, Sheila touched so many lives hoping to make others comfortable and happy. She was a caring soul who always thought of others first. She will be missed greatly. Memorial Services will be held Sunday, July 10, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. at Grace Outreach Church, There will be no graveside services.

NARANJO -- Santiago (Jim) Naranjo Sr., 82, passed away Thursday June 30, 2005 at Albuquerque Regional Medical Center. He was born on July 17, 1922 in Escondida, NM. Santiago is survived by his wife, Angela (Arvizu) Naranjo of 53 years; son: Honorable Santiago Naranjo Jr. and wife Cynthia of Socorro; daughters: Delfina Sherman of Tucumcari, NM Jessie Calderwood and husband Thayne of Datil, NM and Selfa Lucero and husband Willie of Socorro. Jim was honored to have ten grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ramon and Selfa (Gonzales) Naranjo; brother, Frank Naranjo Sr.; and sister, Concepcion Ortiz. Jim served his country in WWII during which he was involved in numerous campaigns while serving under the command of General George Patton. Some of the battles where he earned medals were the battle of Ardennes, Rhineland, Central Europe and the Battle of the Bulge. He earned several medals and campaign ribbons for his commended service in WWII. Some of these were the Bronze star for heroism, the WWII Victory Medal, the Combat Infantry Badge and numerous others. As a very young man he fought in one of the greatest battles this country was ever involved in. After returning home he continued to serve in the National Guard and retired after 22 years of service. He was employed with NM Tech and retired after 32 years of service. Baseball was his favorite sport, when he could no longer play he devoted his extra time to umpiring games at the old Lions Field. One of the most memorable games he had the opportunity to officiate was in Dukes Stadium. He was a non-complicated gentle person who loved God, his family, his country, and his hometown of Socorro. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, July 3, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at San Miguel Catholic Church. Funeral Mass on July 4, 2005 at 10:00 a.m., at San Miguel Catholic Church. Father John C. Daniel as Celebrant. Burial will be in the San Miguel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Naranjo, Willie Lucero Jr., Eddie Lucero, Jimmy Naranjo III, Ramon Rivera and Alfred Lucero. Service arrangements are under the care of Steadman-Hall Funeral Home, 309 Garfield, Socorro, NM.

NEWTON -- Anne Wray Newton was called to our heavenly home peacefully after a brief illness on Monday, June 27, 2005. Formerly of Loveland, OH, she has lived for the past four years at Bear Canyon Retirement Estates in Albuquerque to be near her immediate family. She was the loving mother and mother-in-law of Cheryle Anne and Terry Hinnerichs, respectively; devoted grandmother of Todd and wife Amy Hinnerichs and grandson, Christopher Hinnerichs; and dearest great-grandmother of Reese Katherine Hinnerichs. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Newton and sister, Elizabeth Brown. She was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church where she loved attending the contemporary worship services, Sunday school, and volunteered for several special church dinners. She, also, volunteered two hours per week for the past four years to help her daughter-in-law Amy's 2nd grade class at E.G. Ross Elementary School where she was affectionately known as "Grandma" to the students. She loved people and always had time to lend a listening ear, show compassion to others, and was fun-loving. We love her dearly, and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Memorial Services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Albuquerque on August 27, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. upon return of her grandson, Christopher from his mission in Vietnam. Burial will be held in Loveland, OH in July. Family requests that memorial contributions be directed to Faith Lutheran Church or Children of Faith Preschool, both at 10000 Spain Road, in lieu of flowers.

OPPENHEIM -- Marilyn Bothman. Our dear mother Marilyn Bothman Oppenheim passed away June 2, 2005 in Albuquerque. She had been suffering for the last several years from Alzheimer's Disease. Marilyn was born in Indiana on August 26, 1924 but spent most of her childhood and adult life in Ann Arbor, MI. She also lived for several years in Pompano Beach, FL before moving to Albuquerque to be near her daughter's family. Marilyn was buried in Florida next to her husband of many years, Louis Oppenheim. Marilyn will be missed by daughters, Jill Miller of Sandia Park, son in law Bruce A. Miller; daughter Cathy Groves of Leawood Park, KS and grandchildren Tamara Miller, Seth Miller, Colin Groves and Ryan Groves. Marilyn will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and talented lady who loved nature and beautiful things. The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at the Cottages, Unlimited Care and Ambercare Hospice for their loving care during Marilyn's last years.

PRONOBIS -- Joseph L. Pronobis, 58, passed away at home on Thursday, June 23, 2005 after a short battle with cancer. Joseph was born on March 27, 1947 in Los Angeles, CA to Mitchell and Louise Pronobis. He grew up in Norwalk, CA and Palm Springs, CA where he started his multi-talented career in the arts. He played in bands The Humans and The American Eagle, to name a few, while exploring his talents in graphics arts. Joseph interned under Ansel Adams when he was 27 and pursued a lifetime career as a photographer. Joseph was a loving and caring father to his two children, Michael and Angelina whom he raised with Juanita in Palm Springs, CA. His son is perusing Joseph's love and talent in music and his daughter is perusing Joseph's passion in photography. Joseph moved to Albuquerque, NM in April 2000. He continued to explore his passion for the arts through digital and graphic arts as a freelance artist and worked full time since 2001 as a stellar portrait photographer at Kim Jew Photography. Joseph married Connie Root on May 5, 2005 and had many plans and dreams for the future. His passions and dreams will live on through everyone that was touched by his heart. Joseph is survived by his wife, Connie; son, Michael and wife Denise and grandson, Cruz - Palm Springs, CA; daughter, Angelina - Chicago, IL; brother, Mitchell; sisters, Michele and Belinda. PROTHERO -- Robert (Bob) Prothero, who was well loved by the community, transitioned to heaven June 26, 2005. Bob, born in Johnstown PA, was a professional dancer and actor in New York and California. He moved to Albuquerque and opened Dance World Dance Studio. He also taught Country Western Dance at UNM's Continuing Education. He retired to the East Mountains and opened Marco Polo's Restaurant. Bob and his wife were recently given a tribute by the Belly Dancers of NM for starting and promoting Oriental Dance. He is survived by his wife, Libby Paton Prothero of 42 years; son, Michael, and his wife Carrie and grandson Alex Prothero; son Steven Prothero; daughter, Tammy and son-in-law Patrick Lane; brother, William Prothero; and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held Saturday July 2, 2005, 2-5 p.m. at his son Michael Prothero's home at 1808 Gretta NE, Albuquerque.

ROMINE -- James C. Romine, 76, resident of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2005. He is survived by his beloved wife, Pauline; son, James Romine and wife of Los Lunas, NM; daughter, Terri Bussey; five grandchildren and extended family. Mr. Romine is preceded in death by his parents James and Opal Romine. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He was married in 1949. Mr. Romine served in the United States Air Force in WWII. He also served as a volunteer fireman. Mr. Romine owned and operated a Texaco franchise in the Texas panhandle until 1969. He moved to Albuquerque in 1970 and worked for Phillips Petroleum until his retirement in 1990. Mr. Romine was a member of the Albuquerque International Camp Gideon, and member of Grace Lutheran Church. SAMUELSON -- Pauline Samuelson, age 94, of Manhattan, KS, passed away peacefully with her daughter at her side on Wednesday, June 29, 2005, at St. Joseph Village in Manhattan, KS. She was born November 14, 1910, at Elmdale, KS, the daughter of Walter and May (Travis) King. She was a homemaker, and grew up in the Fostoria and Westmoreland communities. She was a member of the Olsburg United Methodist Church and the Olsburg Senior Citizens. She was married June 2, 1935, at Albuquerque, NM, to John Howard Samuelson, where they resided until 1982, when she moved to Olsburg, KS. She then moved to Manhattan in 1989. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Howard Samuelson, Sr., on June 26, 1980. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Pauline Ann Samuelson; one son John Howard Samuelson, Jr.; two brothers; and four sisters. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Bommelaere and husband Ray of Manhattan, KS; two sisters, Alice McIntyre and Betty Jean Skinner both of Albuquerque, NM; one grandson, James Madison Bommelaere and wife Anna of Clearwater, FL; and three granddaughters, Leita Fritzson and husband Bernard of Solomon, KS, Victoria Edmondson and husband Michael of Overland Park, KS and Donna Rohde and husband Jeff of Cheraw, CO; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held at a later date in Albuquerque. The Holmes-Pfeifley Funeral Home of Riley, KS, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials have been established for the Presbyterian Home Healthcare of Albuquerque and the Olsburg United Methodist Church.
