ANDREA -- Kris Andrea, 47, died Saturday, June 18, 2005 at her home in Durango, CO of an apparent self-inflicted carbon-monoxide poisoning. A Prayer Service will be Friday, June 24, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. at Hood Mortuary in Durango, CO. A gathering of friends will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cremation will occur at Hood Mortuary Crematory in Durango. Visitation will be held at Hood Mortuary on Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Andrea was born December 18, 1957 in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Kenneth and Carole Duerr. She was one of six children. After high school, she attended the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ where she earned a B.A. in philosophy and creative writing. After college, she worked as a paralegal and then became one of the principal hiking guides at the Canyon Resort in Tucson. She then moved to Durango, CO in 1996 and completed training as a massage therapist. While in Durango, she met the man who would become her husband, cardiologist Dr. Bruce Andrea. The Andreas enjoyed many outdoor pursuits, including both cross-country and Alpine skiing, hiking, biking and gardening. Her husband described her as being full of compassion and care for others. "She supported me in my career," said Dr. Andrea, "giving me real strength to persevere in my own attempts to build a full-service, quality cardiovascular program here." She had been studying for the past two years for a master's degree in counseling at Adams State College in Alamosa, CO and had a 4.0 grade-point average for the last semester. She is survived by Dr. Bruce Andrea (spouse) of Durango, CO, Ryon Yemm (son) of Crystal Lake, IL, Kenneth Duerr (father) of Springfield, IL, Carole Nerone (mother) of Springfield, IL, Bill Nerone (step-father) of Springfield, IL, Karen Rust (sister) of Schaumberg, IL, Joy Duerr (sister) of Springfield, IL, Thomas Duerr (brother) of Springfield, IL, and David Duerr (brother) of Springfield, IL. She was preceded in death by her sister, Susan Sefried. BROZOUSKI -- Catherine. The Family of Catherine Brozouski wishes to thank everyone for their kind condolences and prayers during their time of sorrow. Catherine Brozouski, born September 5, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY, passed away Monday evening June 13, 2005. Beloved wife and mother, she is survived by her husband of 55 years Leo Brozouski Sr.; her daughter, Margaret Newman and husband Robert; her son, Leo Jr.; her daughter, Karen; her brother, Robert Budnik and his wife Patty; her grandchildren, Donald and Kathryn; and many loving relatives, family, and friends. CAIRE -- Eloy David Caire passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2005, in Riverside, California. Born to William and Ruth Caire in Albuquerque, "Loydie" served in the Army as a sergeant and was wounded in Korea. He raised his family in Los Angeles and then returned to Albuquerque to work for B C Bail Bonds. He is survived by his children, Debra, Loydie and Dennis and his many loving step-children. CHAVEZ -- ANTONIO. Mr. Antonio Chavez, 74, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on June 22, 2005. Mr. Chavez is survived by his two sons, Michael Chavez and Edward Chavez; one daughter, Irene Chavez; one grandson, Eric Chavez; three sisters, Veronica (Betty) Bojorquez, Linda Alderete, and Helen Chavez; three brothers, Jimmy Chavez, Robert Chavez and wife, Margie, Steven Chavez and wife, Sandra; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mr. Chavez was a member of the Catholic Church and a Veteran of the United States Army. GARDNER -- William A. Gardner Fighter pilot, engineer extraordinaire, loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 22, 2005. Bill was born in Gorham, NH on November 3, 1920. He was called to active duty on November 3, 1941. Flying 172 missions from New Guinea to the Philippines he earned the Silver Star, the DFC, 1 cluster, the Air Medal and 8 clusters. He married Marilyn Davis on November 23, 1945. In 1948 he joined Sandia National Labs and became Director of Development Testing, retiring in 1984. His daughter, Rosanne Lee preceded him in death. Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marilyn; his sister, Patricia Ann Poirier and her husband Charles Poirier, his three sons, Stephen, John, and David and their wives; a daughter, Dona; and numerous loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be sorely missed. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Animal Humane Society or a charity of your choice. A resident of Albuquerque, she was the founder of La Mesa Kitchen. LOVATO -- Robert J. (Bobby) Lovato Jr., 28, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on June 22, 2005. Bobby is survived by his beloved wife, Maria A. (Dee Dee) Lovato. Bobby is also survived by his two daughters, Pebbles and Destiny; his mother, Agnes Lovato; two sisters, Sophie Gutierrez and husband, Larry, Erica Garcia and husband, Sam; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Lovato. Bobby was a member of the Catholic Church. MILLER -- Harvey Mathias Miller Jr., 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1955, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 20, 2005. He was born on July 25, 1924 in York, PA. Harvey is survived by his daughters, Lisa Marie Cook and husband, Gregory of Kansas City, MO and Ami DiGregorio and husband, Michael of Albuquerque. Also surviving are his granddaughters, Danielle DiGregorio, Katelyn and Amanda Cook, and many special friends. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Eleanor Lillie Miller; his parents, Harvey and Sadie Miller; and his sister, Clara Marie Miller. Harvey was a member of The United States Air Force from 1943 to 1965. He was a fighter pilot with 499th Fighter Squadron and received the National Defense Service Medal and Commendation Ribbon. He was a graduate of Gettysburg College and received a BA in Physics. Harvey was president of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity and a member of Sigma Pi Sigma National Honorary Physics Society. He was employed with Sandia National Laboratories as a Nuclear Physicist from 1955 to 1982. He was a member of the Sandia Roadrunners RV Club and Sandia Thunderbirds. Harvey was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who will be missed by all who knew and loved him. A Memorial Rosary will be recited Thursday, June 23, 2005 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. PHILLIPS -- LEWIS E. "LEW" Memorial Services for Dolores, CO resident, Lewis E. "Lew" Phillips, will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at the Mountain View Baptist Church. Pastor Roy Vinson will officiate. Lew was born on September 6, 1919 in Burr Oak, KS to Grace Marguerite (Trigg) and Charles Clyde Phillips. He passed away at his residence on June 21, 2005 at the age of 85. Lew enlisted in the United States Navy in January of 1943 where he worked as a cobbler on the USS Amsterdam. He was honorably discharged on November 11, 1945. He married Floy Morrison on October 29, 1988 in Dolores, CO. Lew enjoyed hunting, fishing, and as a youngster, he trapped and sold furs. He was a plumber by trade and a member of the Local 412 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union in Albuquerque for 52 years. Lew is survived by his wife, Floy Phillips of Dolores; three children, Robert Phillips of Farmington, NM, Sandra Buchanan of Albuquerque, NM, Marsha Males of Loveland, CO; six grandchildren, Lacee, Shawn, DeWain, Robert, Rene, Le Roy; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Rosemary Phillips; two brothers, Ralph Eugene Phillips and Charles Laurence Phillips; and two sisters, Marguerite Williams, and June Rose Kornegay. ROMERO -- Peggy Romero, age 69, a resident of Sandia Park and a lifelong resident of the Albuquerque area, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2005. Mrs. Romero was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to cook, garden, play the slots and scratchers. She graduated from St. Vincent's Academy. Peggy is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jerry; four daughters, Diane Craig and husband Tom, Bobbi Baughman and husband, Rick, Terri Romero-Boykin and husband Doyle and Shorty Burch and husband, Rob; grandchildren, Justin and Nicole Craig; sister, Rosemary Shaw; and many nieces and nephews. WILSON -- Gary Edd Wilson, 49, of Edgewood, NM, died Friday, June 17, 2005, from injuries sustained in a traffic accident in Ft. Worth, TX on June 3, 2005. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Beth Wilson; two daughters, Ashle and Jenny, his mother, Mary Ann Baird of Lubbock, TX, and his father Noel Edd Wilson of New Orleans, LA. Gary was a 1973 graduate of Monterey High School in Lubbock, TX and attended Texas Tech University. He was employed by Professional Flooring Supply of Ft. Worth, TX at the time of his death. Gary will best be remembered as a man of character and integrity who dearly loved his family and his Lord. His infectious sense of humor and love of people will be sorely missed by many. WINGERT -- Kathleen "Kathi" Wingert, 57, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2005 in Topeka, KS. Kathi was born in Waukesha, WI on Thursday, May 27, 1948, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Foley. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, with a degree in Latin American Studies. She moved to New Mexico in 1971 and was employed in a variety of jobs, the last with the Federal Aviation Administration as the Human Resource Manager at the Albuquerque Air Route Traffic Control Center. She retired in December, 2003 and moved with her husband, David to Grantville, KS. Kathi married David B. Wingert on August 5, 1993. She is survived by her husband; three step-children; three step-grandchildren; two brothers; four sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kathi was a wonderful lady who was adored by many. She will be dearly missed. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, June 27, 2005, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. WORTHEN -- William M. Worthen, 62, a resident of Albuquerque since 1949, passed away June 19, 2005. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; his son, Loren H. Worthen; his daughter, Kara R. Pharris and her husband Robert; his cherished granddaughter, Kelsey Caye Worthen; his dear brother, Ellery E. Worthen and his wife Nancy; his niece, Sara R. Worthen and her husband Travis James; a brother-in-law, William P. McDonald and his wife Connie Lee. He is also survived by several cousins and many wonderful friends. Bill was a graduate of Rio Grande High School and the University of New Mexico. He created many beautiful metal sculptures and received numerous awards. His work was displayed in galleries in New Mexico and in out-of-state invitationals. Bill taught industrial arts and arts and crafts at Harrison Junior High School from 1968 to 1977. In 1977, he founded Worthen Memorials, Inc., a family-owned business. Bill's hobbies were hot rods and motorcycles. He enjoyed the mountains, but was intrigued by the desert. His joys were times spent with his friends and especially with his family. He was a gentle and patient man with a big heart. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday June 24, 2005 at the Newman Center, UNM campus, 1815 Las Lomas NE.
