DUNCAN -- Elizabeth "Breck" Benbow Duncan, 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1949, died May 6, 2005, preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, Eaton H. Draper, her husband of seven years, J.C. MacGregor III, and her husband of 16 years, Robert M. Duncan. She is survived by her sons, John Benbow Draper and spouse, Lucy Crane Draper of Santa Fe and Charles Leonard Draper of Tepotzlan, Mexico; and her daughter, Frances Elizabeth Draper and her partner, Michael Minard of Boulder, CO; also by her step-children, John C. MacGregor IV of South Pasadena, CA, Robert MacGregor, Robert B. Duncan and spouse, Barbara Duncan of Sherman Oaks, CA, Nancy Duncan Swigger of Seattle, WA and John Wm. Duncan III and spouse, Frances Duncan of Albuquerque. She is also survived by a number of nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her sister, Marion Bessey and her brother, John Benbow, Jr. Breck was a graduate of Connecticut College and a founding member there of the women's sailing team. She loved to sail the waters of Cape Cod as she had done ever since she was a girl and most recently less than a year ago. She was a long-time member of St. John's Cathedral, served as the second woman on the Cathedral's vestry, and was a faithful member of St. Martha's Thriftshop Guild. Breck was a member of the Tuesday Literary Club and a former member of the Albuquerque Junior League. Dinner with friends, New Mexico Symphony concerts, opening nights at the Opera, openings at the Museum of Albuquerque, and a good crossword puzzle - these were some of her favorite things. Recollections would be welcomed by the family c/o John and Lucy Draper, 2327 Calle Halcon, Santa Fe, NM 87505. Originally from Newton, MA, she will be buried with her first husband and other members of her family in Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, MA. A Memorial Service will take place at St. John's Cathedral, 318 Silver, SW, Albuquerque, on Sunday, May 22, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. She requested that any donations in her name be made to the St. John's Cathedral Memorial Fund or to a charity of one's choice.

DURAN -- Sostena Duran, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2005. Sostena is survived by her daughter, Rennee Duran and husband, Charles Ortiz; sons, Leo Duran and Terry, Carlos Duran and wife, Denise, and Andrew Duran and wife, Joann all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Tito, Diego, Lisa, Catalina, Sacheena, and Marianita; great-grandchild, Andres; brother, Longinos Trujillo and wife, Oralia; numerous nieces and nephews; and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Carlos Duran. Sostena served the community as a nurse for many years, where she touched many lives. She loved spending time with her family, shopping, traveling, and also gardening. She was a member of the San Martin Catholic Church. Her smile will be deeply missed by all who knew her. FAULK -- Lt. Col. Wiley "Woodie" Faulk, USA, (Ret.), 88, a resident of Albuquerque for 33 years, died Wednesday, May 11, 2005. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Maria Ruth Faulk; step-children, Irma Martinez and husband, Hector of Albuquerque, Joe Chavez and wife, Josie of San Francisco, CA, and Carlos Chavez and wife, Sylvia of El Paso, TX; seven grandchildren, Margaret Sanchez and husband, Edward, Elizabeth Sehlmeyer and husband, Mike, Jennifer Amenta and husband, Julian, Annette Martinez and Louie, Daniel Martinez and Michelle, Jose Chavez and wife, Terri, and Kim Novak and husband, Chris; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Ralph Faulk and wife, Mary, of Oxford, AL; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley D. and Georgia Ann Faulk; one brother, Milton Faulk; and one sister, Mary Lou. Woodie was born in Calhoun County, AL. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII and retired honorably in 1960. For the last eight years, Woodie had resided at the Three Fountains Apartments. He was a loving husband and wonderful grandfather and will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. GRAY -- William A. Gray, 86, an Albuquerque resident since 1979, died Wednesday, May 11, 2005. Born in Chicago, IL, Mr. Gray is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joan Gambrill Gray; sons, Richard of Frankfort, KY and William of Albuquerque; grandson, Jonathan Isaac Gray; and brother, Charles Speed Gray. Also surviving are two nieces, Leigh Estabrook and Susan Stockard; daughter-in-law, Rodelyn; and former daughter-in-law, Jolina Hodgman. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Europe and Africa during WWII. A graduate of the University of Kentucky in Civil Engineering (B.S.) and the University of Pennsylvania in Architecture (M.A.), for many years he practiced architecture and taught at the University of Kentucky. Mr. Gray was a certified instrument pilot and a member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America. Cremation has taken place. HARRIS -- Jimmy Dale Harris (71), October 21, 1933 - May 10, 2005, passed away peacefully at his home after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cora Mae Harris; his son, Mike and wife Cassandra; daughter, Brenda Rodarte and husband Richard; daughter, Dolores Huston and husband Mike; and his seven grandchildren, Brian, Pat and Daniel Harris; Ric and Tracy Rodarte; Christina and Kaylee Huston; and several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elton and Alleen, and his sister, Betty Jean Weaver. Jimmy was born in Albuquerque. He served in the Navy, and then worked at AT&T for 32 years. Since that time he was self employed and installed telephones for APS. He was a wonderful dad, husband, and papa whose family meant the world to him. He was active with all of his children and grandchildren. He was their #1 fan as he always loved to go to their games and activities. He was also a jack of all trades, he could fix anything and everything, and he would help anyone that needed it. He was a loving person who took an interest in everyone that he met. The Rosary will be recited Thursday at 7 p.m. at French Mortuary located at 1111 University Blvd. Mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Risen Savior (7701 Wyoming Blvd) on Friday at 1 p.m. A private Graveside Service will take place at a later date.

HUBBERT -- James M. Hubbert died May 8, 2005 in Albuquerque. He and wife, Toni, moved to Youngsville, NM in 1996 after living in Albuquerque. Jim was born May 11, 1948 in Washington, D.C. at Walter Reed Army Hospital. His parents, Col. and Mrs. William Hubbert, retired in NM and preceded him in death. Jim's family moved into the 12th house built in Rio Rancho around 1964. Jim graduated from Valley High School in 1967. He served during the Vietnam War. After discharge, he worked at Bremerton, WA naval Station and later attended motorcycle mechanic school. He settled in the Denver-Colorado Springs, CO, where he earned a BS in Business Administration and certification in electronics engineering. For many years, Jim was a production supervisor and engineering technician at Digital Equipment Corporation in Colorado Springs. He left in 1991 due to a debilitating medical condition and company downsizing. Surviving him are his wife, Toni; stepson, Arand; daughter-in-law, Emily; and two grandchildren, Sadie and Ava. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial and Celebration of Jim's life will be held on Sunday afternoon from 1 - 4 p.m. in Youngsville. KERR -- Scotty Tate Kerr, 46, much-loved father, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away at home on Sunday, May 8, 2005. Survived by Gail George, beloved partner and "bestest friend;" son, Clint Kerr; and daughter, Adrienne Kerr (Roberta, mother); granddaughter, Marki Ann Kerr; brothers; Michael Kerr, Chuck Kerr, Mark and wife; Bonnie Kerr; sister, Anne Kerr-Magel and husband, Bill Magel; nephews, Jon-Michael Kerr, Travis Kerr; nieces, Alexandra Magel and Amanda Magel; uncle, Jack T. Keely and his wife, Kathleen Keely; stepfather, John Sanders; and many dear friends. Pre-deceased by: John B. Kerr and Patricia Kerr-Sanders. Scotty was known as weed-hopper in his early racing days at ABQ Raceway and Speedway Park where he raced stock cars and go-karts. Jobs included: Mama-Mia, Magnum Industry, Sandoval County Sheriff Dept. Reserve, and Lieutenant at the Bernalillo County Detention Center Dept (1986-2004). Attended First Church of Christ Scientist ABQ. A long time racing fan including crewing for Creasy Family Top Fuel Funny Car Team. Enjoyed restoring his 1969 Mustang to original glory, a mechanic, welder, drummer, collector of racing memorabilia, comedian, and storyteller. LONG -- Herta Goldstein Long, a resident of Albuquerque since 1990, died on May 9, 2005 at age 91. She was born in Schokken, Germany on May 3, 1914, and moved with her family to Berlin, Germany in 1922. She was a Holocaust survivor who was hidden in various "safe houses" in Berlin and near Koenigsberg East Prussia, along with her daughter, Evy, through the help of Dr. Elisabeth Abegg, a philosophy professor and her small group of female anti-Nazi university students. Herta and her daughter were liberated by the Russian army during the battle for Koenigsberg near the end of World War II, but were detained by the Russians for nearly four more years. After escaping Russia and making their way back to Berlin, they immigrated to the USA as Displaced Persons, and settled in San Francisco in 1951. Herta retired at age 68 from the University of California as Head of the Office of Financial Aid for the UC School of Medicine. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernst Goldstein, who perished in the Auschwitz death camp; by her second husband, Henry Long, who survived the Sachenhausen and Dachau camps, later escaping to Shanghai, China ; and by her granddaughter, Sylvia Rudd, who died in Denver in 2003. She is survived by her loving and caring daughter, Evy Woods and son-in-law, John Woods of Albuquerque; her granddaughter, Robin Woods in Moscow, ID; her great-grandsons, Spenser and Greyson Rudd in Denver, CO; and by her "adopted daughter", Ellen Robinson of Cedar Crest, NM. Herta "Omi" Long was an extraordinary person of the highest integrity. She leaves extended family and friends in California, Albuquerque, Switzerland, and Israel, as well as friends and descendants of her family's remarkable rescuers in Germany during World War II. We will miss her wisdom, intelligence, steadfastness, and generosity. Special thanks to the loving and caring staff at Sunrise Assisted Living in Albuquerque, and to the staff of Preferred Hospice. NUNN -- Mary Jane Nunn, 86, passed away at the Sierra Health Care Center on May 11, 2005. Mary Jane was a longtime Rancher and resident of Hillsboro since 1960. She was born in Douglas, AZ on June 17, 1918, the daughter of James E. and Petra Bryan. Mary Jane was a Charter Member of the Chamiza Cowbelles, a member of the El Valle #4308 Eagles Lodge; New Mexico Cattlegrowers Association and the Republican Party. She enjoyed bowling and dancing. Mary Jane is survived by her daughters, Nance and husband, Pat Jones of Hillsboro, NM; Mary Fagan of Lemitar, NM; by a son, Sonny and wife, Margie Nunn of Tucson, AZ; seven grandchildren - Casey Jones, Macky Padilla, David Jones, Will Nunn, Brandon Nunn, Petra Fagan, and Katie Nunn; and by eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Nunn and a brother, Ed Bryan. Serving as Casket Bearers are Dean Griffith, Jim Bason, Kirk Amis, Latham Morris, Rufus Kelch, and Frankie Padilla. TORRES -- Joe Torres, 87 loving husband, for 58 years of Martha passed away at a local hospital on May 11, 2005. Besides his wife Joe is survived by his daughter, Martie Sanchez; grandchildren, Laraisa Sanchez, Desiree Sanchez, and Jude Joseph Sanchez; sisters, Emma Basila, Mary Torres, Lillie Sarracino and preceded in death by Rita Smith; he is also survived by his brothers, Tony Torres, Emilo Torres, Gilbert Torres, and Charlie Torres; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joe's family would like to remember him as a devoted and loving husband, he lived everyday for his family. "Ta Ta" was adored by his daughter and grandchildren. Joe retired from Albuquerque Publishing Company, he was and avid scratch golfer, he loved the Big Band music. VILLA -- Mr. Jose (Pepe) Villa, 38, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on May 9, 2005. Pepe is survived by his beloved wife of eighteen years, Lori; his children, Samantha Villa, Jose Villa Jr. and Germain Garcia-Villa; his parents, Felipe and Francisca Villa; his brothers and sisters, Susie Tanza and husband, Scott, Rosa Villa and husband Jeff Collins, Felipe Villa Jr. and wife, Terri, Reynaldo Villa and wife, Annie, Luz Van Why and husband, Randy, Juanita Garcia and husband, Andrew, Marlene Lima and husband, Richard; mother in law, Annette Nigh; in laws, Adam Sandoval, Jolin Sandoval, Joseph Duran and Joshua Duran; Godparents, Carmen y Lolis Talamante; 17 nieces and nephews; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. WEIDMAN -- Robert William Weidman, 91, died peacefully on Saturday, May 7, 2005 with his beloved wife of 30 years, Ellie, at his side. Bob was born January 8, 1914 in Kansas City and moved that same year to Chicago with his family. He grew up and remained in Chicago until he was 65 when he retired after a successful business career, culminating as Comptroller of Jay's Foods, a large and popular Chicago-based firm. Bob and Ellie had a good marriage that began many years after they had each raised their children and their first spouses had died. They knew each other as children in Chicago and met again nearly 40 years later when Ellie visited friends in Chicago. They went out for dinner and dancing, which they both loved, married a few months later, and after Bob retired they moved to Albuquerque where Ellie had resided since 1955. Together they danced, played bridge, played golf, and enjoyed each other's company for 30 happy years. Bob was skilled on both the golf course and the pool table. He spent many satisfying hours playing golf at Arroyo del Oso and winning many pool tournaments at Palo Duro Senior Center. Bob's parents were Edwin Weidman and Laura Roberts Weidman of Chicago. His first wife, Virginia; a brother, Charles; a sister, Rose; and a granddaughter, Laurie Hamilton predeceased him. He is survived by his wife, Elinor Sedgwick Johnson Weidman of Albuquerque; son, Dr. Douglas Weidman, wife, Judy, Chicago; daughter, Arlene Hamilton, husband, Bill, Michigan; stepsons, Douglas Johnson, wife, Ruth; Eric Johnson, wife, Deborah, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Matthew, Bradley, Gregory, Debra, Sherri, Dawn, Lauren, and Leslie.
