ANDERSON -- COL (Ret) Edward G. Anderson, Jr., a resident of Albuquerque for 32 years, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005. Ed served 30 dedicated years in the U.S. Army and is a highly decorated veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was an active and devoted Mason and member of the Ballut Abyad Shriners, having served as Aide Emeritus to the Potentate and serving in the Royal Order of Jesters, and a member of the Patrol. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Virginia Anderson of Albuquerque; son, LTG (Ret) Edward G. Anderson, III and wife, Ann, of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Cheryl Ney and husband, Richard of Thousand Oaks, CA; grandchildren, MAJ Edward G. BOGUE -- Frances E. Bogue, 89, a resident of Moriarty, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Cummins and husband, Jim of Moriarty son, Charles Bogue and wife, Cecilia of Moriarty; and daughter, Linda Barela of Los Lunas; 19 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren.. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon C. Bogue; daughter, Barbara Bogue; sons, Dale Bogue and Robert Bogue; and parents, Frank and Laura Burnham. Frances married Eldon C. BONDS -- William Barnard Bonds, born October 24, 1932, died February 27, 2005. William was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Alta Bonds; sisters, Dorothy Parks and Austa Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Bette; sons, Craig and wife, Colleen of Loveland, CO, Kyle and wife, Elaine of Camp Hill, PA, and Kevin and friend, Scott Mauk of Baltimore, MD; and daughter, Kim Wallace and husband, David Wallace of Westminster, CO; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert and Mike of Tucumcari, NM, Jim of San Antonio, NM, Hugh of Fredricktown, MO; sisters, Betty Moore of Broken Arrow, OK, Lucille Strope, Mary Mayfield, and Ann Owen, of Tucumcari. BRAULT -- Catherine M. Brault passed away on March 1, 2005. She was born in Liverpool, England on November 25, 1930. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Frank M. Brault; son, David, his wife, Karen, and children, Jennifer and David K.; son, Robert, his wife, Cyndi, and children, Dana and Kevin; brother, Allan Lavery and wife, Norma; brother-in-law, Don Schick; sister-in-law, Carol Lavery; and many nieces and nephews. As per Catherine's wish, there will not be a service.

BROWN -- Richard Rick Brown, 63, a resident of Albuquerque for 20 years died Wednesday March 2, 2005. Rick is survived by his wife of 32 years, Jewel Brown; children, Ronnie Jones and wife, Brenda of Arkansas, Stan Jones and wife, Sydney Smith of Albuquerque, Bonnie Morford and husband, Ron of Colorado, Lee Jones of Mississippi, Brenda Hochstein and husband, Andreas of Albuquerque, Heather Brown and spouse, Estephan Franco of Albuquerque and Ricky Brown of Albuquerque; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many friends. He was born in Montgomery, Alabama on April 17, 1941 and graduated from George Washington High School in Montgomery. He served in the United States Air Force before entering into college. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Alabama. He worked for the United States Treasury Department as a bank examiner until his retirement in 1987. Rick loved fishing, country music, hunting, reading and his favorite of all things, family time. He was a beloved husband, father and papa and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. CARSON -- Dorothy Nadine "Dot" Carson, 89, a resident of Albuquerque for 45 years, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Olson and husband, Larry, of Albuquerque; two grandchildren, DeDe Long and husband, Scott, and Bob Scholl, all of Albuquerque; six great-grandchildren, Kayla, Megan, Jared Long and Kaytlyn, Madison, Cameron Scholl. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. "Kit" Carson in 1983. Dorothy was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #89 of Huntington, WV and National Association of Retired Federal Employees. COSPER -- Bonnie. Her name was Bonnie Bertha Blue Cosper, but all who knew her simply called her "Mom". Bonnie died peacefully in her sleep on February 28, 2005 at the age of 102, after living one of the most fulfilling lives a human can lead. She was born on July 25, 1902 in Gordon, Texas. At the age of 17 she married her lifelong love, James Arthur Cosper, in Iredell, Texas. Mom and Pop Cosper shared 72 years of constant companionship before Pop passed away in 1992. In 1921 Mom and Pop moved across the state of Texas, from Spring Creek to Clarendon, a journey that took 24 days by covered wagon. It was a long, difficult trip, but Mom and Pop and infant daughter, Earlene were a hearty crew who fared just fine. Before moving to Albuquerque in 1942, Mom had given birth to two girls and three boys. The Cospers lived in southwest Albuquerque for more than 50 years where they owned and managed Fashion Dry Cleaning until they retired. Bonnie is survived by two brothers, Harry Blue of Cranfills Gap, TX, Tony Blue of Nashville, TN; and sister, Edna Whitney of Los Angeles, CA; her children, Earlene Johnson and husband, Bayard Johnson of Waco, TX, James (better known as "Pete") and wife, Norma Cosper of Stanley, NM, Leroy (everyone calls him "Poss") Cosper of Weatherford, TX and Jerald (also known as "Tooter") and wife, Patricia Cosper of Corrales, NM. Mom and Pop's five children gave birth to 14 children of their own, and at last count their legacy included 29 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great- grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be Hank Cosper, Jerry Cosper, Gary Cosper, Clyde Heath, Mike Lee and Justin Lee. Honorary pallbearers will be John Cosper, Ronnie Feder, Rusty Heath, Dusty Heath and Mathew Mosier. A viewing was held at French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Thursday, March 3, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services are set for Friday, March 4, 2005 at 10:30 a.m., also at French Mortuary. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Mausoleum.

GARCIA -- Benny J. "Bozo" Garcia went home to be with the Lord on March 2, 2005 at the age of 56. He was born on May 13, 1948 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He is preceded in death by his brother, Orlando Garcia. Benny is survived by his companion, Rosalie Handrahan; daughters, Mary Garcia, and Sharon Lovato; brother, Anthony Garcia; sisters, Tommy Miera, Isabel Baca and husband, George, and Carmen Garcia and his five grandchildren. A Rosary will be recited on Saturday and Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. GILLETTE -- Larry Dale Gillette, a longtime resident of Bosque Farms who recently moved to Aurora, CO to be near his daughters, died February 23, 2005 of lung cancer. He was born September 30, 1939 at Grandview, IA at the home of his grandparents, Edith and Elmer Young. Parents are the late L. John Gillette and Ruth Gillette. Larry graduated from Wapello High School in 1957. He then attended Central Technical Engineering School in Kansas City, MO and graduated in 1959. He was employed by Sandia National Laboratories of Albuquerque, NM for 33 years. Larry is the beloved father of LaRae Gabol (Rodney) and Susan Gillette, both of Aurora, CO, and the grandfather of Gage Gabol. He is also survived by his mother of West Burlington, IA; brothers, L. John Gillette Jr. and David Gillette (Sharon) of Muscatine, IA; sisters; Kay Pfeifer (Dan) of Burlington, IA, Phyllis Beik (Dan) of Morning Sun, IA, and Barbara Dieterich of Burlington, IA. Services will be held at the Lunning Chapel in Burlington, IA on March 5, 2005 at 10:00 am., and burial will be at Grandview Cemetery, Grandview IA. HAALAND -- J.D. "Dutch" Haaland, Major, USMC (retired) SEMPER FIDELIS Major J.D. "Dutch" Haaland, retired USMC, and died on Saturday, February 26, 2005, two days short of his 69th birthday. Dutch was born in New London, MN, grew up on a farm and moved west when his father followed the ship building industry to San Francisco. He enlisted in the Marines at age 18 and quickly advanced to the rank of Gunnery Sgt. During the early 60s he was stationed at MCRD in San Diego, as a drill instructor. In June 1966 he was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. He traveled the world on his orders and served two years in Vietnam where he was awarded two Purple Hearts. Heavily decorated, Major Haaland was awarded 15 medals during his career, among them the Silver Star for "conspicuous gallantry" in Con Thien, Vietnam. In the early seventies, Dutch served as the Inspector Instructor at the Marine Corps Reserves in Albuquerque before going to his last duty station, prior to his retirement, in Twenty-Nine Palms, CA. He returned to Albuquerque, lived in Florida for a decade, and came back to Albuquerque in 2003. Dutch, a brave soldier and devoted father, is survived by his brother, Conrad Haaland; his wife, Barbara and her daughters, Amy Candelaria and Julie Pratt; his four children, Denise Kirksey, Zoe Magee, Debra Haaland, and Judd Haaland and their mother, Mary Toya; also by his ten grandchildren, and loyal pooch, Sophie. Services will be held at noon Saturday, March 5, 2005 at Strong-Thorne, Coal Ave. east of I-25. His children will take his remains to Arlington National Cemetery in April for full military honors.

MACDOWELL -- Betty Jean Ratcliff MacDowell, 83, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2005. Betty was predeceased by her parents, Milo and Willie Juanita Ratcliff; brothers, Evon Ratcliff and Michael Ratcliff; and sister, Mary Lee Natoli. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Sullivan of Pleasant Valley, N.Y.; Francesca MacDowell of Albuquerque; Tani Sue Hyland and her husband, Vincent of Highland, NY; son, John McGinn and his wife, Karin of Seattle, Wash.; grandchildren, Sean and Megan Sullivan, Cody and Kelly Williams, and Katherine, Vincent and Patrick Hyland. Betty was born August 19, 1921 in Clayton, New Mexico. She lived in her beloved Albuquerque in her youth and most recently since 1972. Betty was employed with the Atomic Energy Commission and retired from the Social Security Administration as a supervisor of data processing. Betty was an avid reader, gardener, and loved her crafts. PARKER -- Helen Jeanette Joyce Parker, beloved Mother, and a longtime resident of Albuquerque, went home to be with the Lord on March 3, 2005. She was born January 23, 1906 in Gillespie, Illinois to Wilburn and Nellie Berry Joyce. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie, to whom she had been married for 63 years. Helen and Leslie spent their entire careers working for the Santa Fe railroad and retired in Clovis NM in the late 1960's. Helen was a member of Eastern Star, and was active in Rainbow Girls as Mother Advisor when she lived in Las Vegas, NM. She was also an inactive member of DAR at the time of her death. She is survived by her son, David and wife, Rhoda of Albuquerque, NM; her daughter, Patricia Parker Miller of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Dee Norton and husband, of Lake Ridge, VA, Stacy Wang and husband, of Phoenix, AZ, Brad Parker and wife, of Boulder City, NV, Dianne Miller of Albuquerque, NM, Paul Miller and wife, of Carlsbad, CA, and six great-grandchildren . She is also survived by her sister, Pauline Edwards of Hillsboro, Ill; half-brother, Robert Joyce and wife, Marj, of Anaheim, CA, and nephew, "Bud" Smith and wife, Morene, of Porter, TX, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. SILVA -- Manuel Silva, lifelong resident of New Mexico, died in his sleep Wednesday, March 2, at the age of 84. Manuel is survived by his wife of 58 years, Eva Romero Silva of Belen. He is survived by their five children: Martha Woesch (her husband, Rick Woesch), Dave Silva (his wife, Marge Sisca), William Silva (his wife, Vicki Gieger Silva), Gini Silva (her husband, Brad Zeikus) and Tish Silva. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren: Valerie Silva, Craig Erdman, Kelly Zeikus, Emily Sisca, twins, Josef and Sarah Woesch, Grace Woesch, Peter Zeikus, Jessica Zeikus, Tony Woesch, Anne-Camille Woesch Collins, Kam Silva and Jennifer Zeikus. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Madeline and Kenzie-Lynn Collins. Manuel Silva was Internal Auditor for the NM Department of Motor Vehicles in Santa Fe for more than twenty years. He was elected to the state legislature in 1952 and served representing Valencia County. He is a former city manager of Grants. He served in the Navy, stationed in the Pacific during World War II as an air gunner. He was an avid and proficient golfer until recent years. Mr. Sisneros is also survived by two daughters, Linda Lasater and Lorrie Sisneros; two sisters, Mary Enriquez and husband, Eddie, Trini Jojola and husband, Robert; three brothers, Raymond Sisneros and wife, Eva, Pete Sisneros and wife, Bernice, Luis Sisneros and wife, Frances; three grandchildren, Lori Diane, Christy and Jennifer; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Sisneros was a member of the Catholic Church and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict. A Rosary for Mr. Sisneros was recited Thursday evening at St. Anne Cathoic Church. A final visitation will be Friday morning from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon at St. Anne Catholic Church with Mass of the Resurrection to be celebrated at twelve noon by Father Daniel Balizan. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors by the U.S. Air Force. Pallbearers will be Freddie Sisneros, Louie Sisneros, Steven Sanchez, Ivan Perea, Anthony Sisneros and Randall Sisneros. Honorary pallbearer will be Juan F. Marquez. TAYLOR -- Arlene Fay Taylor was born on November 15, 1928 in Lamesa, Texas and passed away on March 2, 2005 in Ruidoso, New Mexico at the age of 76 after a long illness. She was married to Warren D. Taylor on October 13, 1948 in Alpine, Texas and their marriage spanned some 25 years until her husband preceded her in death on February 3, 1974. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Jodi Taylor of Capitan, NM and Alan and Dee Ann Taylor of Rio Rancho, NM; as well as two brothers, C.R. Cook of Bakersfield, CA and Roy Cook of New Jersey, along with nieces, Gay Yates of Mayhill, NM, Sherry Tulk of Hope, NM and Bonnie Glenn of Ruidoso Downs, along with numerous other nieces and nephews as well as numerous good friends, some of whom have known her for many years. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 5, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at La Grone Funeral Home, 341 Sudderth Drive, Ruidoso, NM with Alan Taylor officiating. The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Lincoln County Animal Shelter.

TRUJILLO -- Ray Christopher Trujillo, 44, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on March 3, 2005. VAN ZELE -- Michael Van Zele, 61, a resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, March 1, 2005. WATERMAN -- Jane Harris Lewis Waterman, 85, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, February 28, 2005. She is survived by her son, Larry L. Lewis of Aurora, CO; daughter, Bonnie Earp and her husband, Jesse of Tyler, TX; brother, Frank B. Gilmer of Albuquerque; two granddaughters; two grandsons; and six great-grandchildren. Jane was preceded in death by her first husband, Alford Lewis and second husband, L. Grant Waterman. She was a 1938 graduate of Albuquerque High School and a longtime member of First Baptist Church. Jane lived an active life including hiking, fishing, swimming, camping, bowling, and roller skating. She was also a member of the Los Gitanos Campers Group. Jane was a former resident of Vista Del Rio Retirement Center. Services will be held Friday, 2:00 p.m., at Chester T. WILSON -- Theron Dean Wilson, Jr., was born on February 11, 1976 in Albuquerque, NM. He was the son of Theron Dean Wilson, Sr. and Vera L. Posey-Wilson. Theron Jr. is survived also by his sister, Alicia Rael Wilson of Albuquerque; and two half sisters, Constance R. Wilson-Gilyard and Eileen T. Wilson of Austin and Dallas, Texas Respectively. Although Theron Jr. leaves to Cherish a host of aunts and uncles across the country, other aunts and uncles were present to watch Theron grow up. They are: Arthur B. Posey and wife, Dorothy, James Posey and wife, Darlene; and his aunt, Henrietta Posey of Albuquerque; and a host of friends and family.
