ARAGON -- Marcella Aragon (Nana), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt went to be with our Dear Lord on Monday, February 7, 2005. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Louie Aragon (our Tata). CAVANAUGH -- Thomas J. Cavanaugh, Colonel, USAF (RET), 80, a resident of Albuquerque, was called home to the Lord on February 3, 2005. Although his family and friends will miss him, we are truly blessed to have had him touch our lives. Col. Cavanaugh was born in Chicago, IL on July 3, 1924, to Thomas and Nora Cavanaugh. After graduating from high school in 1943, he began a 32-year career serving his country in the United States Air Force. A proud veteran, Col. Cavanaugh served in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He is one of many who answered the call of his nation, and our gratitude is deeply heartfelt. Col. Cavanaugh is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Joan; his adoring brother, John; his four beautiful daughters, Maureen, Candace, Shannan, and Meaghan; and his three wonderful grandchildren, Courtenay, Sean, and Gavin. He was an amazing husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend to all who knew him. A true Irishman, a lover of trains, and a classic gentleman, he made our lives brighter, and we look forward to the time when we are all together again. CHRISTOPHERSON -- Selwyn Christopherson, born December 22, 1915 in Canton, SD, passed away February 8, 2005. He is survived by wife, Mamie Lee of Rio Rancho; sons, Keith, Edgewood, NM; Steven and wife Nancy, Hartford, CT; Mark, Boise, ID; daughters, Louise, Albuquerque; Sally Keller and husband, Ron, Boise, ID; Colleen Konetzni and husband, Kevin, Rio Rancho; Kathleen Leonard and husband, Jeff, Rio Rancho; Karen Hogerheide and husband, Scott, Albuquerque; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, M.E. "Chris" Christopherson and wife, Marion, Easley, SC; daughter-in-law, Rita Christopherson, Albuquerque. Mr. Christopherson was a life member of VFW Post 401, having served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and Korean War, and of Teamsters Local 492. He learned truck driving in the Civilian Conservation Corps as a young man and later retired from the trucking industry. A volunteer with the Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau for several years, he was known for his warmth, friendliness, great singing voice and dancing ability and his "Mutton Chops" sideburns. Besides his family, "SILKY" as he was called from childhood, gave much attention to his garden full of box turtles. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Lutheran Church, 305 Unser Blvd, Rio Rancho, followed by a reception at the family home. Mr. Christopherson will be taken to Hawaii, a favorite vacation spot, at a later date.

DELGADO -- Nasario Delgado went home to be with the Lord on February 8, 2005 at the age of 77 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 3, 1927 in Willard, NM. He is preceded in death by one son, Nazario Jr. and a daughter, Viola. Mr. Delgado is survived by his wife of 59 years, Magdalena C. Delgado; and his daughters, Josefita Aragon and husband, Joe, Elena Rednour, Eva Lovato and husband, Paul, Virginia Clouatre and husband, Clay, Molly Gifford and husband, Bill, Luisa Delgado; and sons, Richard Ramos, Jesus Delgado, and Timothy Delgado; two brothers, Escolastico Delgado, Alberto Delgado and wife, Kate; and sister, Santana Leonti and husband, Sam; lifetime friend, Louie A La Torre and wife, Celia; 21 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Eighth Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited on Friday at 7:00 p.m. also in the Mortuary Chapel. DICKERSON-LUCERO -- Jennifer Dickerson-Lucero, 54, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2005, peacefully. She is survived by her three children, Johanna, Jesse, and Jared Dickerson; husband, James Lucero, all of Albuquerque. Jenny was a strong, beautiful, and courageous woman, who touched and enhanced many lives. She was known for her positive, spiritual being, along with her passion for life and commitment to Holy Love. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten by all whose lives she touched. EAGLEMAN -- Genevieve C. Eagleman, 93, beloved widow of Ben Eagleman and mother of sons, Jan and Lance, passed into the arms of her Lord on February 8, 2005, in Albuquerque. Genevieve was an Executive Secretary to Agency Superintendents of the Bureau of Indian Affairs at Crownpoint and Zuni, NM, for over 30 years but later made her home in Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years in 1989 and her son, Jan, in February of 1997; grandson, John Todd; one niece, Patsy; and her brothers, Bill and Tommy. She is survived by her son, Lance, and his wife, Barbara, and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth. Genevieve is also survived by five grandchildren: Staci, Heather, Josh, Wendy, and Christopher; 19 grandchildren; and three nieces and two nephews. Genevieve was born in Ft. Cobb, OK, on November 24, 1911, and was an enrolled member of the Caddo Nation. GARCIA -- Carmen T. Garcia, 80, of Albuquerque, passed away into the Lord's loving arms on Monday, February 7, 2005. Carmen was born on December 29, 1924 in Las Vegas, NM to Patricio and Adela Tapia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ismael Garcia Sr. She is survived by her children: Carol Ladmirault, Polly Aragon, Nancy Torres, Esther (Toby) Gonzales, Richard (Florence) Garcia, John (Doris) Garcia, Donald (Marian) Garcia, Ismael Garcia, Jr., Tommy (Mary) Garcia, Rita Garcia, Sandra Dominguez, Rebecca Garcia, Angela Garcia, Bernadette (Anthony) Nevarez; her brothers: Matias Tapia and Pat Tapia; her sister, Madalena (Herbert) Perkins; 30 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ray Vigil, Marcos Bustamante, Andrew Gonzales, Joe Torres, Richard Garcia, John D. Garcia. Honorary Pallbearers will be the rest of her beloved Grandchildren. Mom was famous for the many tortillas she made. She loved yard sales and going to the casino. Her nickname was "Sunshine" while growing up, and she was Sunshine until the end. GARCIA -- Jesusita R. 1908-2005 Jesusita R. Garcia, 96, entered the fullness of life on February 6, 2005. Born on December 30, 1908 to Lorenzo and Cleofas Romero, she was raised in La Plaza Vieja (Old Town Albuquerque) until she was married to Luis L. Garcia on May 17, 1926. She resided most of her life in the South Valley, and participated as a very active member of the Holy Family Church community until 1976. Afterwards, she moved to Los Chavez to live near her daughter. Jesusita's faith was central in her life; her hobbies included embroidery, and her flowers. She took great pride and joy in her children and many grandchildren. "Sita" was a Roaring Twenty's gal, who encouraged and supported independence and education for women; she herself had to leave school in the 6th grade to work cleaning houses with her widowed mother. She enjoyed parties, cooking, even washing dishes. Jesusita had the ability to make each person she was with feel like they were "the most special person around." She will be missed by her family and friends. Jesusita is survived by her children: Edward and Donna of Stockton, CA, David and Sally of La Mirada, CA, Cecilia of Paso Robles, CA, Fred and Nina of Los Chavez, Lorenzo and Sylvia of Albuquerque, and Leonor and Mike Baca of Los Chavez. Jesusita had 17 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation for Jesusita will begin at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, February 10, 2005 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel, located on the corner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Road and Old Hwy 85 across from Dennis Chavez Elementary, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning, February 11, 2005 at 9:00 a.m. also in Los Chavez with Father Stephen Shultz officiating. GENTRY-BUSSELL -- Willene Gentry-Bussell was born in Cookville, TN on June 17, 1922. She married Clifford W. Bussell when they were still teenagers. They moved to Brudenton, FL where their two children were born. In 1948 they moved to New Mexico. She is survived by her daughter, Loretta Garland and husband, Luke; her son, Clifford D. Bussell and wife, Jayne; grandchildren, Leonard Garland and wife, Shannon, Edwin Garland and wife, Cathy, Sabrina Anderson and husband, Mack, Eric Garland and wife, Debbie, Deorell Bussell and wife, Sharon, and Travis Bussell; great-grandchildren, Jason, Pamela, Johnathan, Michael, Mykaela, Taylor, Myranda, Makenzie, Spencer, Logan, Joshua, Melody, and D'artangnon; one brother, Ken Gentry and wife, Marilyn; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Clifford, in 1992. She took delight in taking care of her grandchildren, and she dearly loved the Lord. She will be greatly missed by all. HARVEY -- Phyllis J. Harvey Born in Dayton, OH on October 8, 1927 Departed on February 5, 2005 and resided in Albuquerque, NM. Phyllis Jean Harvey, 78, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2005 after her courageous battle with cancer for five years. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert D Harvey, of Albuquerque; and children; daughters, Sandra Mitchell of Taylor, MI and her husband, Ron, Deborah Haddy of Phoenix, AZ and her husband, Mike, Beverly Harvey of Arvada, CO and her husband, Ron, Carol Reese of Boise, ID and her husband, Mark; sons, Robert Harvey of Oakboro, NC and his wife, Georgia, John Harvey of Avondale, AZ and his wife, Dawn, and David DelSanto of Albuquerque, NM; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Harvey was preceded in death by her father, Lionel Fitzgerald; and her mother, Edna and husband, Harold Whitman. Phyllis was born in Dayton, OH on October 8, 1927 and married Robert Deforest Harvey on April 28, 1944 in Sioux City, IA. As a military wife she traveled with her family all over the world and has resided in Albuquerque for the last 32 years after her husband's retirement from a 30 year US Air Force career. Phyllis leaves a legacy of dedicating her life to her husband and family. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. HEDRICK -- Bruce Dean Hedrick, 49, a resident of Bernalillo, died Saturday, February 5, 2005. He is survived by his parents, Jim and Emily Hedrick; wife, Zada C. JONES -- Roy Lee "Pinky" Jones, 84, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2005. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Charline Jones; two children, Janet Sterba of Keswick, VA and Michael Jones of Albuquerque; their spouses, Jeff Sterba and Mary Pat Jones; and five grandchildren, Katy Sterba, Dane Sterba, Brent Jones, Seth Jones, and Megan Hardin. Roy was born in Corsicana, TX on November 14, 1920. He was raised in Pampa, TX and graduated from West Texas State College in Canyon, TX. A WWII Air Force veteran, Roy served in England as a bombardier and flew 31 missions over Germany and France. When he returned from the war he began a career as a coach and educator in Canyon, TX. He later moved to Clovis and then Lovington where he served as high school principal and coach. He left public education while in Lovington to become a banker. He served as the mayor of Lovington and was involved in other civic matters including chairing the Lovington United Fund campaign. He and Charline moved to Ruidoso in 1973 and purchased the High Country Agency, which he operated for many years. He served as Mayor of Ruidoso and Chairman of the Democratic Party of Lincoln County. He was very active in civic, community and church affairs throughout his life, including Chairman of the Ruidoso Hospital Board and served on the board of Presbyterian Healthcare Services. Pinky loved the horses and owned a number of winners in Ruidoso. Memorial Services for Ms. Virginia Lee Fisher Melillo, age 79, were held at St. John's Catholic Church in Butler, Alabama on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. Ms. Melillo, a native of Albuquerque, NM passed away in a Meridian, MS hospital on January 27, 2005. Ms. Melillo is survived by son, Ted Melillo (Brenda) of Butler, AL; brother, Perry Fisher (Jean) of Grants, NM; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Bumpers Funeral Home of Butler, Alabama was in charge of arrangements.

NASER -- Ella May Naser, 99 died on Saturday, February 5, 2005. Ella May was born in Marion County, OH, to Clarence McMillan and Jenney (Beatty) McMillan on August 23, 1905. She was raised in Indianapolis, IN and married George J. Naser of Kewanee, WI on September 12, 1928. She lived on the Naser farm where she raised her three children until 1956 when she and George moved to Green Bay briefly and then to Albuquerque in 1958. She raised four of her seven grandchildren after the death of her middle daughter in 1964. She cared for many north valley neighborhood children during her many years here. Ella May moved to Tempe, AZ in 1976 after the death of George until 1987 when she returned to Albuquerque. Ella May was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where a memorial service will be held on Friday, February 11, 2005 after a brief graveside service at Sandia Memory Gardens where she will be laid to rest with her husband George and her daughter Patricia Maez. Ella May was a loving grandmother to seven, mother of three, great grandmother of eleven, and great-great grandmother of two. She was a published poet and songwriter, jewelry maker, craftswoman, quilt maker, Sunday school teacher, church worker and a believer in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. She will be grievously missed by those who love and survive her and who will remember her with affection always. PEARCE -- Judy Karen Pearce, 63, died on Tuesday, February 8, 2005. She is survived by her mother, Isadora Maria Barnett of Madill, OK; children, Michelle Pearce of Edgewood, Kevin Pearce and wife, Rita of Albuquerque, Tracey Keel of Edgewood, and Jason Pearce and wife, Tammi of Tijeras; grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Charles, Justin, and Joseph Pearce, Pamela Tapscott, Gene, Shannon, and Ronnie Keel; great-grandson, Eris Lawson; brothers, Robert Barnett of Spirit Lake, ID, Dan Barnett of Los Lunas, and Charles Boyce of Bernalillo; sisters, Carol Dunn of Madill, OK and Sharon Keplar of Reno, NV. PEELE -- Shirley L. Peele, 68, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2005 at her home. She is survived by her husband, Tex LaVerne Peele; son, Will Grimmer and wife, Brenda; daughter, Renee LaVerne Peele, all of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Brenda Jefferson and husband, Bobby of Chesapeake, VA; brother-in-law, Fred Hartlove of Portsmouth, VA; and grandchildren, Adrienne Hurd and husband, Joe, Rachelle Grimmer, Alexis Peele, Ivana Peele, Elijah Spring, Caitlyn Hurd and Kyle Hurd. Shirley had worked at WalMart on Carlisle for the past 17 years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed spending time doing macram‚, crocheting, needlepoint, and preparing large meals for friends or family. She got great pleasure in giving her crafts away to others. Shirley was a very kind, considerate, generous, and giving person. She always put others' needs in front of her own. She loved her work, her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her. Services will be held Friday, February 11, 2005, 10:00 a.m., at Temple Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery. WHALEY -- Gail D. Whaley, 71, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2005. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Edward W. Whaley of Placitas; daughter, Sandra Whaley and husband, William Bechtold of Albuquerque; son, Kyle E. Whaley and wife, Dodie of McKinney, TX. Gail was a member of Hoffmantown Church and the Christian Women's Club. She worked for many years as a certified financial planner; after her retirement, she prepared taxes at H & R Block and was active in the financial planning community. Gail graduated from Santa Fe High School attended Valparaiso University where she majored in music. She was an avid gardener and had served as secretary of the Albuquerque Rose Society. She also loved animals and was a passionate Lobo football and basketball fan. Services will be held on Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Interment is private. WICKE -- Hazel C. Wicke, age 90, a resident of Albuquerque since 1955, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2005. She is survived by her two sons, Donald Hartwick and wife, Jane of Cleveland, OH and David Hartwick of Tijeras; daughter, Ellen Harrison of Albuquerque; brother, Arthur Beck of Kattaning, PA; two grandchildren, Sandra Schwarz and Brenda Corcoran; and three great-grandchildren, Lauren Ellen Schwarz, Shelly Rizzuto and Brian Corcoran. Hazel enjoyed league bowling at Leisure Bowl, quilting and playing games.
