ARMIJO -- Maria Beatrice Armijo, 85, passed away peacefully at her home in Socorro, NM on Saturday, January 15, 2005. She was born December 5, 1919 in Tokay, NM to Ignacio and Arsenia (Padilla) Miera. She is preceded in death by her husband, Abran Jose Armijo and her son, Anthony Armijo. Beatrice is survived by her daughters, Eloisa Edgerton and husband, Ron of Cinncinati, OH, and Clara Apodaca and husband, Gary of Socorro; grandchildren, Stephanie Sarate and husband Tommy of Socorro, Michelle Gonzales of Socorro, Timmy Gonzales and wife, Paula, Stacey Gonzales of Socorro, and Teresa and Leslie Edgerton, both of Cinncinati, OH; great- grandchildren, Abie, Marissa, Justin and Joshua Sarate; Kaitlyn, Kathryn and Kyle Gonzales, Ceara Gonzales and Garrick Gonzales. A Rosary will be recited on Monday, January 17, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at San Miguel Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at San Miguel with Father John C. Daniel as Celebrant. Burial will be in the San Antonio Cemetery. CHAVEZ -- Jose M. Chavez, 83, passed away in his home on January 11, 2005. He is survived by his wife, Conception; his daughter, Kathy and husband, Harry Laycock; his son, David and wife, wife Peggy; seven grandchildren, Christopher and Joe Laycock; Shawn, Joshua, Anthony, LeeAnn, and Shannon Chavez; three great-grandchildren, Desiree Laycock, GiaVanna and Victoria Gonzales; and a fourth great-grandchild due in May 2005. He served his country for thirty-one years in the United States Army, and retired as a Command Sergeant Major. DELAO -- Elma M. DeLaO, 78, a resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, January 14, 2005. She is survived by her sons, Chris DeLaO of Albuquerque, George DeLaO and wife Janis of Albuquerque, Richard DeLaO and wife Marti of Ventura County, California; daughter, Yvonne Huisinga and husband Ronald of Phoenix; sister, Mary H. Fava and husband Joe of Rio Rancho; grandchildren, Daniel, Fabian and wife Alicia, Ryan and wife Tyler, Michael, Patrick, Teri, Deanna, Jenna; sister in law, Patsy Garcia; and 16 nieces and nephews. She was employed at the Luby's on Juan Tabo until it closed. She was a loving mother and devoted grandmother who will be missed by her family and friends. GALBREATH -- Dorothy Louise Dennis, age 78, a long-time resident of Albuquerque, left this life on Thursday, January 13, 2005. Dorothy will forever be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and strong loving spirit, always putting others before herself. She is survived by her devoted husband, Otis "Jim" Killian of Albuquerque; her four daughters, Charlee Galbreath of Tijeras; Gaylynn Abram and husband, Mike of Fairfax, VA; Cynthia "Janet" Fitzgerald and husband, Tim of Reedsport, OR; Pam Schmille and husband, Chris of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Jason O'Brien of California; Benjamin and Lauren Abram of Virginia; Hoyt and wife, Alicia Schmille of California, and Seth Schmille of Albuquerque; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Additionally, she is survived by brothers, Calvin Dennis of Boulder, CO, and Wilbur Dennis of Kemp, TX; and sister, Yvonne Peacock of Odessa, TX. Dorothy was preceded in death by brothers, Odell and Emmett Dennis and her beloved sister, Hazel Wagenknect. Dorothy retired from Sandia National Laboratories after many years of service. She was a Life Master at duplicate bridge, an avid Lady Lobo supporter, and loved dancing and listening to music. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Christ Unity Church, 9800 Candelaria NE. GROVER -- Keith W. Grover, Jr, 57, died of lung cancer Dec 27, 2004. He is survived by his mother, Ellen, a resident of Princeton Place; a sister, Ellen Sproat of Albuquerque; brothers, Jon of Silver Spring, MD, and Thomas of West Palm Beach, FL. Keith spent most of his life in Silver Spring, MD where he served as a fireman and paramedic in the Montgomery County, MD Fire Department. While fighting a warehouse fire in 1992, he receive injuries which resulted in a medical retirement. He previously served in Vietnam. Moving to Albuquerque in 1998, he has been a course marshal at the Puerto Del Sol Golf Course. A memorial service was held at the Veterans National Cemetery, Santa Fe, January 14, 2005.

JIRON -- Reyes Jiron, a native of Isleta Pueblo, was called home to be with her savior on January 12, 2005. She was 96 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, Remijo Jiron; daughter, Rose Jojola, and son-in-law, Freddie Zuni. She is survived by one daughter, Margie Zuni of Albuquerque; five grandchildren, Greg Jojola of Longmont, Colo., Sheila Jojola of Isleta Pueblo, Lloyd Jojola of Albuquerque, Raymond Zuni of Albuquerque, and Tonya Billings and her husband, Terry, of Albuquerque; and four great-grandchildren, Ashley Zuni, Lane Gatewood, and Isaiah and Megan Billings. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, January 17, at St. Augustine Mission in Isleta. "Chee-ee," you were much loved and will be greatly missed.

LEVESQUE -- Leona L., 85 went to be with the Lord on January 15th, 2005. She was born in Fall River, MA; and resided in Somerset, MA before moving to Albuquerque, NM in 1970. Leona is survived by her husband, Lucien; her sister, Ida of Swansea, MA; her son, Richard and his wife Barbara; and granddaughter, Gina of Rhode Island; her daughters, Jeanne and her husband Ron of Sandia Park, and Denise of Edgewood, NM; four nephews; and several grandchildren. She was a devoted wife and mother and a member of Faith Bible Church for many years. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. The family wishes to thank Zia Hospice and Princeton Place Nursing Home for their kind expressions of sympathy and support during their time of grief. NICOVICH -- Iris Nicovich, 83, a resident of Albuquerque since 1953, died on Saturday, January 15, 2005. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Philip of Albuquerque, who was employed by Sandia National Labs for 36 years; son, Jon Nicovich and wife Starla of Sandia Park; daughter, Marilyn Caudle of Ft. ORTEGA -- Anita M. Ortega died January 14, 2005, at 70 years of age. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Ortega. She is survived by her four children, Manuel Ortega, Margaret Ortega Gonzalez and husband Lalo, Phillip Ortega and wife Deborah, Anthony Ortega; her brothers, Miguel and Gilbert Ortega; sister Mary Ramirez and husband Tony; as well as twelve Grandchildren and ten Great-Grandchildren. PEREA -- Lorraine. Mrs. Lorraine Perea, 71, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on January 15, 2005. Mrs. Perea is the beloved wife to, Mr. Ernest S. Perea, married for 54 years. Mrs. Perea is also survived by four daughters, Susan Blanton and husband, James Jr., Arelene Perea, Shirley Mae Perea, Barbara Perez and husband, Juky; four sons, Ernie Perea Jr., Danny Perea, Tommy Perea, Lawrence Perea and wife, Ruby; six sisters; three brothers; 20 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews; cousins and friends. A visitation for Mrs. Perea will be Tuesday afternoon from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Victory Outreach Church, 933 Sunset SW with a Prayer Service to be held at 4:00 p.m. by Pastor James Blanton. RINI -- S. Jack Rini, 89, died peacefully after a short illness in the early morning of Sunday, January 9, 2005, at his residence at Montebello Senior Living Community, where he was twice president of the Resident's Association. He lived for many years in Los Chavez, NM, moving to the state from Memphis, TN, in 1977. S. Jack was born the son of Anna Lichtenberg Rini and Martin Rini on July 29, 1915. He was raised in Cleveland, OH. In 1936, he married Marjorie Herman who preceded him in death in 1980. He graduated, with his lifelong friend the late Edward Dyble of Albuquerque, from John Marshall High School and Case School of Applied Sciences (now Case Western Reserve) in Cleveland with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. He did extensive graduate work at the University of Chicago in chemical engineering of vegetable fats and oils. His career took him from Amazo in Hammond, IN, to Lever Brothers in Whiting, IN, and Boston, to Kraft Foods in Chicago, and then to Memphis where he was Vice President of Research and Production at Kraft's Humko subsidiary there. He was an emeritus lifetime member of the American Chemical Society which he joined in 1943. He was elected to the American Institute of Chemical Engineers in 1949, and was an emeritus member of the Institute of Food Technologists. He was Director of the League for International Food Education from 1970 to 1982. His other interests included the Boy Scouts of America and bird watching. He was also the major investor in New Mexico's Century magazine in the early 1980s. His patents and inventions in food technology include "the Rini process" which makes margarine spreadable, and a chemically engineered solution to the problem of the "French ring," the circle of congealed material around the opening of French dressing bottles. He was an avid traveler, exploring the back country of America with his family, and traveling around the world and visiting as much of the planet as he could. He was a scholar and student of history and politics and the southwest. Mostly, he enjoyed his friends and his family. He was a profoundly loyal and generous parent, grandparent, and friend. His family misses him more than they can express. He is survived by children, Jacqueline Rini Fuqua, James P. Rini, and Rini Price and her husband, V.B. Price, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Christopher H. Fuqua of Albuquerque and Marshall R. Fuqua and wife, Jeri of Madrid, Iowa; by step-sons, Jody Price and Keir Price of New Jersey; and by one niece and many nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Talking Talons, Tijeras, NM, 281-1133, or to the League for International Food Education. The family is grateful for the aid of Lovelace Hospice.

TERESI -- Joseph E. Teresi, 57, passed away at home on Tuesday, January 11, 2005. A lifelong resident of Albuquerque, he is survived by his father, Joseph A.; his sister, Jerlene; his nephew, JT; and countless long-time loyal friends. Joe died as he lived - - peacefully. We will all miss his deep appreciation and respect for life, and everyone and everything alive. With never-ending humor, he brought this appreciation to all of us, making our lives richer whenever we were privileged to spend time with him. Now Joe rests with us in harmony with nature.
