BARELA -- Crystal Caitlin. In Loving Memory of Crystal Caitlin Barela, 5 years old, who went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 29, 2004. BELL -- Verna. After a lengthy illness, Verna "Butchie" Bell happily joined her family in heaven on November 6, 2004. Born March 23, 1921 in House, NM, her time formerly established in this world produced a wonderful fulfilling life. Butchie experienced all she had desired to in life, among such, a mother, wife, successful businesswoman, and caring church worker. She enjoyed playing bridge and listening to books during her later years. Never inhospitable, Butchie welcomed all and had a loving ambiance about her. Joining her dear parents, Frank and Georgia Wallace, her caring husband, Paul Tex Bell, and her beloved son, Frank Bell, Butchie advances to a finer place. She will be deeply missed by her friends and especially her family; daughter, Vivian Mohler and husband, Jerry; Sons, Paul C. Bell and wife, Cathy, and John W. Bell and wife, Chris; grandchildren, Karen Roelandts and husband, Michael, Michele Mohler, Lisa Mohler, Ryan Bell, Amber Murphy and husband Josh, Logan Bell and Bonnie Bell; great-grandchildren, Jillian Webb, Gelsey Webb and Stephanie Bell Reyes; sisters, Joan Thew and Ruth Pohle; and cousin, Stoney Hatley. BRION -- Dorothy C. Brion, 83, a resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, November 10, 2004. She is survived by her husband, William J. Brion of Albuquerque; daughter, Kathryn Shepherd and husband, Jerry of Placentia, CA; sons, Richard W. Brion and wife, Kathryn of Albuquerque and Gordon Brion of Los Angeles, CA; and grandchildren, Beau and Bailey. She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Rose; mother, Edna Rose; sisters, Margaret Sanphy, Kathryn Sanphy; and grandfather, Henry Johnson. Mrs. Brion was an excellent cook, loved to paint, and was an avid gardener. She was a longtime member of The Shrine of St. Bernadette and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. BROWN -- Barton C. Brown died on November 9, 2004. Born April 7, 1921 in Eau Claire, WI, he grew up in Minneapolis, MN. He graduated from the Univ. of Minnesota as a Metallurgical Engineer, joined the Army Air Corps, trained as a Navigator, and flew in the B-24 Liberator while assigned to Venosa Field, Italy. He later flew 34 sorties over North Korea in the B-29 bomber. He spent 4 years in the 96th Bomb Wing at Dyess AFB, TX flying on the B-47 Bomber. Overseas duty included Misawa AB, Japan and Don Muang Royal Thai AFB, Thailand. Barton and his family retired in Albuquerque in 1969. He became an Enrolled Agent and had his Income Tax Business until 2001 when he and his wife moved to Abilene, TX. He held life membership in The Reserve Officer Association, The Military Order of World Wars, Military Officer Association of America, and the VFW. He was a Scottish Rite Mason and member of Mesa Lodge# 68, Ballut Abyad Shrine Center, and the Kit Carson Chapter of National Sojourners in Albuquerque and recently of the Lone Star Chapter #149 of National Sojourners in Abilene. He and his wife are members of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Abilene. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Florence Brown; and his first wife, Betty Paulsrud Brown. Barton is survived by his wife of 8 years, Marilyn; his son, Charles F. Brown and wife, Julie of Albuquerque; and his daughter, Rebecca Marlin and her husband, Michael of New Berlin, WI. His grandchildren are Rachel and Scott Brown of Albuquerque; Kristen, Alison and Michael Marlin of New Berlin, WI. He is also survived by several cousins. He will be cremated and a Masonic Memorial Service will be held at the Ballut Abyad Shrine Center, Albuquerque at a later date, followed by burial at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. CASAUS -- Carlos M. Casaus, 86, passed away peacefully at home on November 2, 2004. He was born in Las Vegas, NM and was raised in Santa Rosa, NM. He retired from the military as a Lieutenant Colonel. After serving in the Military Intelligence in Germany, Greece and Cuba, he was awarded the Legion of Merit for Peacetime Services. He lived in Holman, NM from 1970-1996, then moved to Albuquerque. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Delia Casaus; his daughter, Robinelle, and husband, Sheldon Hinchberger; his brothers, Mike, Eugene, Victor and Ernest; his sisters, Christine, Marcella Martinez and Dolores Fay; his step-grandson, step-great-grandson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 13, at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel of Sunrise, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE., (North of San Antonio; South of Paseo del Norte; at the intersection of Wyoming and San Francisco). COX -- Kathryn M. In Loving Memory of Kathryn M. DAHLINGER -- Donald Lee Dahlinger, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed on to eternal life at his home in Albuquerque on Monday, November 8, 2004. He was born in North Platte, NE to John and Mary Dahlinger on May 6, 1942. He was married to his wife, LaVay, of 43 years until his passing. They moved from North Platte to Albuquerque in December of 1984. His first love was his family. He was so proud of all his grandchildren. His passion was in his woodworking and building items for his family and friends. Until renal failure, Don loved to go camping and fishing. He and his fishing buddy always shared their fish stories. His faith in God and the church kept his determination for life alive. Don previously employed with Albuquerque Floor and Tile. He is survived by his wife, LaVay; children, Rodney and Gina Dahlinger of Seattle; Kent and Elizabeth Dahlinger of Albuquerque, Shannon and John Patrone of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Taryn, Keaton, Brandi Jo, Austin, McKenna, Justus, Rafe, Cameron, and Talen; two sisters, Karen and David Colan of Grand Island, NE, Carrol and Ron Virus of St. Louis MO; a brother, Gary and Karen Dahlinger of Albany, OR; and several nieces and nephews. FRISCH -- Beverly Ann Frisch, formerly of Deer Creek, Oklahoma, died Monday morning, November 8, 2004, in the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 73 years. Beverly Ann Frisch was born on October 15, 1932, in Deer Creek, Oklahoma, to Hayden and Helen (Cook) Bryant. She grew up in Deer Creek attending Deer Creek rural schools before attending Blackwell Public Schools. She graduated from Blackwell High School in 1951, in Blackwell, Oklahoma. While a senior in High School, she married Owen Wesley Frisch on February 19, 1951. In December 1951 Owen entered the United States Air Force. The family has lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico; Roswell, New Mexico; French Morocco, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Tucson, Arizona; Zaragoza, Spain; Spokane, Washington; and Plattsburg, New York. At all times she served her family as a homemaker, Cub Scout den mom, Girl Scout leader, Baseball Coach, bookkeeper, and Entrepreneur. In 1962 while being stationed in Spain, they were awarded the Air Force "Family of the Year Award". In January of 1967 they returned to Albuquerque to make their home. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Albuquerque and the Air Force Sergeants Association. She enjoyed interior decorating and her family. Beverly is survived by her husband, Owen Frisch of Albuquerque, NM; daughters, Brenda Sticklin and husband, Larry of Fountain Hills, AZ and Linda Diefenbaugh and husband, Robert of Albuquerque,NM; sons, Wayne Frisch and wife, Joan and William Frisch and wife, Susan, all of Albuquerque, NM; and grandchildren, Wesley and Alexandra Sticklin of Fountain Hills, AZ, Robert Diefenbaugh,Jr., Sage Frisch and Tyler Frisch, all of Albuquerque, NM. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Harvey, Melvin, Lawrence, Darrell, and four sisters, Eva, Glady and two infant sisters. GARCIA -- Ronald Patrick William Garcia, 59, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2004, after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 36 years, Pam Garcia; sons, Ron and Rex who moved back into the family home to help care for their father; granddaughter, Samantha Ann; brother, John A. Garcia II and wife, Jean; nephew, Bryce and niece, Brianna, also of Albuquerque; niece, Pam Garcia and her daughter, Samantha of Denver, CO; nephew, John A. Garcia, III and wife, Madelyn, their children, Noelle, Melissa and Ian of Garden Grove, CA; and sister-in-law, Sandra Wray of Homeland, CA. He was preceded in death by his father, John A. Garcia and mother, Marye C. Garcia. Mr. Garcia graduated from Rio Grande High and attended New Mexico State University in Las Cruces. He was in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, stationed aboard the U.S.S. Talgua. He operated Central New Mexico Equipment Company with his father for 20 years. Some of his greatest joys were boating at Elephant Butte with family and friends, bird hunting with his oldest son, Ron, and watching his youngest son, Rex, play basketball at El Dorado and Scottsdale Community College. Muffy was his four-legged "sweetheart" and Rocky was his four-legged "hunting companion." Our hearts are broken and lives forever changed. We will miss his sense of humor, knowledge of world affairs and his political opinions, which he gave freely and often. The family sincerely thanks all of their wonderful neighbors and friends for the food, notes and cards of heartfelt sympathy and love and also Presbyterian Hospice, always there at this most difficult time, particularly his hospice nurse, Laurie Vicenti and caregiver, Gene Garcia. GERMAN -- Zachary. On November 9, 2004, God took our angel, Zachary, born July 21, 2003, to celebrate life in heaven. After fighting a courageous battle for the past 13 months that included chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant, it was time to say goodbye. Now he can experience all that his illness and short life would not allow: sand on his feet, wind in his hair, the rush of first love, and getting dirty. A special thank you to the many doctors and nurses at MCV who loved and cared for him. GRAVES -- Annie "Ruth" Graves, 93, a 67- year resident of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2004. Ruth was born in Malden, MO on February 22, 1911. She is survived by her daughter, R. Alexandria Montgomery of Albuquerque; sister-in-law, Martha Bridges of Malden, MO, and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A Graves, parents; four sisters; grandson, Gregory M. Mutter; and son-in-law, Harry T. Montgomery. Mrs. Graves will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Until a few years ago, Ruth participated in various Arts and Crafts shows around Albuquerque including the Senior Expo show for many years. HAYDEN -- Lucy Ann Hayden died peacefully after a long convalescence and brief illness. She was born Lucy Ann Allison to Mary Hinkle and Thomas Lester Allison in Oklahoma City, May 13, 1914 and died November 9, 2004 in Albuquerque, NM. Lucy recently received top honors by the National Association of Dance Instructors when she was chosen as one of only five teachers in the nation to receive an award for her work. Many of her students stayed in contact with Lucy from around the world many of whom went to dance in major dance companies or have taught dance in various universities and schools in the US and abroad. The last member of her immediate family, Lucy was also preceded in death by her husband William J. Hayden, a well known actor, director and playwright. Lucy and Bill opened one of the first ballet schools in Albuquerque, Hayden School of Ballet, and the Albuquerque Children's Theatre in 1960, which are still going strong today. Lucy began studying ballet at age 8 in Denver, Colorado, where she lived into her twenties. She taught ballet in Wyoming, Nebraska and Denver before she moved to NYC, at age 30. There she studied dance with Martha Graham, the famous dance specialist, and Merce Cunningham. She stayed in New York City for ten years where she and Bill married in 1958. In 1960 they moved to Albuquerque where they opened their ballet and theatre school. She said "Bill helped give me the confidence that I could make a living at dance instruction." They combined their talents to teach dance and theatre to children ages 6 through high school. They gave yearly recitals featuring ballet and other types of dance, acting and pantomime for 30 years. Lucy taught hundreds of children in Albuquerque over the years and is also known for helping Albuquerque Children's Theatre keep going after her husband Bill died in 1989. She was given an honorary seat at the Albuquerque Little Theatre for her contribution. Despite her busy schedule she also volunteered for Meals on Wheels as a member of Monte Vista Christian Church and Anna Kaseman hospital for several years. Lucy will be missed by many for her profound influence and insightful knowledge on the dance and theatre community in Albuquerque and beyond. She is survived by her nephew John Allison, and friend Cathy Wiest, sister-in-law Laura Allison, niece Carol Allison-Huntress her husband Erny Huntress, and grand niece Ariel Huntress of Albuquerque; her niece Betsy Nazare husband Dave, and grand niece Rachel Nazare of Park City, Utah; her niece Marcia Travers, her husband Richard and grand-nieces Alyssa and Serena Travers of Lewes, Great Britain. In lieu of flowers Lucy asked that donations be made to Albuquerque Children's Theatre or Monte Vista Christian Church. INGRAM -- James Ingram, 69, passed from this life November 10, 2004. He was born in Lindrith, New Mexico on July 11, 1935. He is survived by his wife, Melba; his daughter, Rhonda Dimas and husband, Don of Phoenix, AZ; his son, Brett of Cuba; grandchildren, Andrea Thomas and Chris of Las Cruces, Sean Ingram of Albuquerque, Mark Dimas and Melissa Cisneros of Denver, CO; his brother, L.J. Ingram of Lindrith; and many other special relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; a brother, Glen; and a sister, Joyce. James was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Cuba. He was a strong supporter of the Republican Party and a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association. His special joy in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren. Although he was ill for many years, he was always planning for the future and never complained. He was a hero to his wife and children; always there to protect them, fight for them, and support them in their life decisions. To his grandchildren, there were no limitations of his love and support. He loved Cuba and he loved all his friends. We will miss him forever. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 13, 2004 at 11:00 am in Guadalupe Parish Hall. Burial will follow at Lindrith Cemetery. JONES -- Marita Mae (Metsie) McCanna Dickinson Jones was born to Ray and Grace McCanna on October 14, 1923 in Albuquerque, NM. In her passing on November 10, 2004, she was surrounded by love and prayers with her four daughters by her side. She lived a full life and will be remembered by everyone whose lives she touched for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and generosity. She graduated from Saint Vincent Academy in 1941 and attended UNM where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She married George Dickinson in 1944. She served a term as president of the Albuquerque Junior League. Her career as a teacher at Albuquerque Public Schools spanned 25 years, teaching English at Jefferson Junior High and Sandia High School. In 1968 she was elected president of the Albuquerque Classroom Teachers Association. She was a life-long Democrat, and a devout Catholic. In 1983 she married Charles Jones, who survives Marita, with whom she spent 21 wonderful years. They divided their time between Albuquerque and Sopchoppy, FL. At "the river" she was active in the garden club, homemakers club and was known as "Pearl Mesta of the swamp" for her great entertaining, especially her annual Super Bowl party. She loved life and her family and friends. She was an avid bridge player, an excellent cook, a creative vocabulist, loved those Broncos, shoes, shopping, traveling, Wheel of Fortune, and gardening. Marita passed on her love of nature and flowers to all of her children. Some of the words that describe our matriarch are: sincere, wise, connected, respectful, tireless, intuitive, concerned, witty, attentive, caring, classy, eloquent, and precious. Her spirit will always remain alive for her daughters, Debbie Deakin, Lauri Dickinson, Joani Murphy, Kati Dickinson Hays; son-in-law Robert Deakin; grandchildren, Rob and Kristen Deakin, Lara and Greg Lindner, Erin Murphy, Sara and Ryan Hays, Renee and Darren Jack; and great-grandchildren, Lauren and Will Deakin. Also surviving are her step-children Barbara Roberts, David Jones and Virginia Moss, step-mother Vivian McCanna, brother Jim McCanna and sister Mary Roark. Friends and family are invited to a memorial Mass at The Newman Center on Saturday, November 13 at 11:00 am. At her request, a party will follow to celebrate her life, held at Albuquerque Marriott Pyramid North from 1:00 - 3:00 pm. MAGANA -- Gerald "Big G, Happe," Magana, 35, a resident of Albuquerque since 1973, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Dawnmarie Magana; children, Marquez J. Magana, Amaris A. Magana and Elijah J. Magana, all of Albuquerque; parents, Diana Sanchez of Albuquerque and Chendo Magana and wife, Rita of Pueblo, CO; grandmother, Barbara Magana of Las Animas, CO; sisters, Christina Magana of Albuquerque and Shanna Magana of Pueblo, CO; mother-in-law, Marcia Valdez and husband, James O. MARQUEZ -- Elvira A. Marquez, age 95, beloved mother and grandmother, was called home by our Heavenly Father, on Wednesday, November 10, 2004. Elvira was born in Marquez, NM to the late Procopio and Pabla Anaya; and was a resident of San Ysidro, NM. She was a member of the Catholic Church. She is survived by her loving children, Ida Garcia, Cassie Vieira, Estolano Marquez and wife Olivia, Jerry Marquez, and Judy Marquez; 31 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren. Elvira will be greatly missed by her loving family. Visitations will be Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary; where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. tonight. MOZADER -- Margaret Mozader, age 71, a resident of Albuquerque for 47 years, died Tuesday, November 9, 2004. She was employed by United Way for 35 years. Margaret is survived by her husband of 50 years, James Mozader of Albuquerque; two daughters, Debbie and Diane; four grandchildren, Stephanie Tombrink & husband Bill, Kristy Jaramillo, Michelle Jaramillo, and Philip Paiz; and one great-grandchild, Joseph Jaramillo. PACE -- Irma A. Pace, 91, a resident of Albuquerque since 1996, died on November 8, 2004. She was born December 11, 1912 to Amelia Seegmiller and Abraham Fletcher Acord in Provo, Utah. Irma was educated in the Provo City schools and graduated with a Master's degree in Education from Brigham Young University. She is preceded in death by her husband, Udall Wilson Pace who died in 1957. Irma loved to travel and spent her summers visiting exotic locations such as China, India, Africa, and Europe. She was fond of the arts, particularly Shakespeare, ballet, the Opera, and playing bridge. Irma taught school in Utah and Arizona. Teaching was her passion. She loved working with children. After moving to Albuquerque, she volunteered at Chelwood Elementary School until her 89th birthday. Her wish was to be remembered as she was in life and therefore requested no funeral services. SHEPPERSON -- George Edwin Shepperson, 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1953, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 10, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Frances; children, Bettyanne Roper and husband, Rev. Gary, Rev. Edwin Shepperson and wife, Barbara, and Sam Shepperson and wife, Barb; grandchildren, Ricky Roper and wife, Sonja, Robbie Roper, Hema Roper, Annie Roper, Sarah Back and husband, Ben, Andrew Shepperson, Katie Shepperson, and Jamie Shepperson. George was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Anne, and Marge, his wife of five years. He was born in Monticello, AR and was raised in Greenville, SC. George attended college at Hampden-Sydney College in VA and graduated from Furman University in SC. He then received his Master's Degree in Education from the University of New Mexico. George taught in APS for 30 years and then at Hope Christian School for 10 years. Throughout his teaching career, he coached tennis and basketball. He and wife Anne helped found Hope Bible Presbyterian Church, which is now Hope Evangelical Free Church in Albuquerque. George was also an active member of Alameda Bible Church, and most recently a member of Grace Church. He and Anne founded and taught the men's and women's Bible classes at The Meadows Senior Community. George was an avid member and soloist of the Young At Heart Choir since 1996. He was a member of the Albuquerque Tennis Club and won tennis championships in The Senior Olympics for both men's doubles and singles, on both the State and National level. "Grandaddy" will be dearly missed by all for his sweet and fun-loving nature, and his wonderful sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buck Styker; and brothers, Frank and William McLaughlin. Mrs. Stryker was born June 23, 1917 in Lorenzo, TX and graduated from Amarillo High School. She attended Southern Methodist University. Mrs. Stryker married Buck Stryker in 1940. She has been a member of Central United Methodist since moving to Albuquerque. THAYER -- Larry R. Thayer, USAF (Ret.), a 34-year resident of Albuquerque, died on Veterans' Day, Thursday, November 11, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Phyllis Thayer; sons, Lynn Thayer, Chuck Thayer, Scott Thayer, all of Clinton, IL, and Bill Barber and wife, Margie of Albuquerque; daughters, Barbara Jean Pastore and Lisa Thayer, both of Clinton, IL; mother of his children, Marie Thayer of Clinton, IL; several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; brothers, Garry Thayer and wife, Connie of South San Francisco, CA and Dave Thayer and wife, Sandy of Blue Island, IL; and sisters, Amy Skaggs and husband, Stan of Denver, CO, Janet Griffin and Mary Murray, both of Blue Island, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Thayer and Helen Tarbox. Larry was born April 29, 1938 in Clinton, IL. After graduating from Clinton High School, he joined the US Air Force. He proudly served for 20 years. After retirement, he loved playing golf and ballooning. Larry was a talented musician who had his own band, Jeremiah and The Three of Us. TRUJILLO -- Philip G. Mr. Philip G. (Phil) Trujillo, 66, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away on November 10, 2004. Mr. Trujillo is survived by his lifelong friend and mother of his children, Carmen Montano-Trujillo. Mr. Trujillo is also survived by his children, David Trujillo, Janice Caro, Debbie Ortega and husband, Ruben, Danny Trujillo, Rick Trujillo, Marisa Trujillo, Dominic Trujillo, and Ginette Trujillo; two sisters, Louisa Rico and husband, Ramon, Lucella Maez and husband, Joe; ten grandchildren, James, Juliette, Andrew, Adrieanna, Paige, Levi, Jerome, A.J., Gabrielle, and Nicholas; three great-grandchildren, Anthony, Aleiah, and Dante; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mr. Trujillo was preceded in death by his brother, Julian Trujillo. Mr. Trujillo was a member of the Catholic Church and was very involved and enjoyed volunteering as a foster grandparent for the City of Albuquerque at Griegos Elementery. Phil was loved by all and will be greatly missed. A visitation will be Saturday afternoon in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 2:00 p.m. by Mrs. Eileen Montoya. ULIBARRI -- Aric A. On April 18, 1972, Aric A. Ulibarri was welcomed into this world, and he blessed us for the next 32 years. On November 3, 2004 Aric was called to be with our Lord.
