BOUCHER -- Jane McKillip Boucher, 72, a resident of Albuquerque since 1963, died Tuesday, October 12, 2004. She is survived by her husband, Ray Boucher of Albuquerque; sons, Raymond Patrick McKillip and wife, Rose and John Patrick McKillip and wife, Eloisa, all of Albuquerque, William Patrick McKillip and wife, Elizabeth of Laramie, WY, James Patrick McKillip and wife, Maggie of Las Vegas, NM; David Patrick McKillip and wife, Paula; daughters, Catherine Casey McKillip and husband, Kenny Eaves, and Jane Ellen Losinski and husband, Eddy, all of Albuquerque; sons, Samuel T. Boucher and wife, Mary, Phillip F. Boucher, Joseph H. Boucher, and Paul F. Jane is also survived by her beloved sister, Kay M. Ward and husband, Bob; and a special nephew and niece, O'Brien Ward and wife, Connie, and Catherine M. Dairy and husband, Steve, all of Rapid City, SD. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Patrick L. McKillip in 1992. Jane was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a friendly, outgoing person who always had open arms and full plate for anyone who came to the door. Jane was affectionately known as "Nana" by her grandkids. A Rosary was recited Thursday, October 14, 2004, 7:00 p.m. at John XXIII Catholic Community, 4831 Tramway Ridge Dr. NE with Deacon Alex Trujillo reciting. CLEAVER -- Denman E. The life of Denman (Denny) E. Cleaver, 89, will be celebrated on Thursday, October 28, 2004 at La Mesa Presbyterian Church. Mr. Cleaver ascended Monday, October 25, 2004 after a long, fulfilled life. Denny retired from Kirtland Air Force Base Special Weapons Lab in 1974. He is survived by daughter, Denise DeLuca and husband, John of Tucson, AZ; daughter, Linda McCoy and husband, David of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many friends. ESPARZA -- Salvador "Sal" Esparza, 53, a resident of Albuquerque since 1977, died on October 24, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Mavis Esparza of Rio Rancho; three daughters, Lizabeth Teran and husband, Reuben of Phoenix, AZ, Alicia Esparza of Albuquerque and Valerie Esparza of Rio Rancho; mother, Marina Esparza of Gallup; sisters, Clara Marie Landavazo and husband, Allan of Gallup; brother, Leonard Esparza and wife, Kim of Gallup. Sal was expecting his first granddaughter on October 28, 2004. He is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews. Sal was preceded in death by his father, John Esparza; and his nephew, Joshua Landavazo. He had worked for different companies at the airport as an Aircraft Mechanic and worked for contractors at Intel Corp. Sal's love was airplanes. He was very mechanically inclined, always helping those around him with their needs and projects. Sal loved creating and building things. Service will take place on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel with Pastor Todd Cook, officiating. Burial will follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park in Rio Rancho. GOOD -- Dennis L. Good, 59, a resident of Albuquerque since 1993, died Tuesday, October 26, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Judy Guthrie; sons, Derek Good and wife, Cherise of Charleston, WV; Jered Good of Mansfield, OH; a granddaughter, Brittany Good; his mother, Frances Bowlus of Fremont, OH; brothers, Doug Good and wife, Melody; and Greg Good and wife, Susan; sisters, Becky Legg and husband, Leonard; and Maria Good; and numerous other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Roland and his wife, Judy and his father, Walter. Dennis was a graduate of St. Joseph's High School in Fremont, Ohio and received his Bachelors and Masters degrees at Bowling Green State University. He served his country in the U. S. Navy as a Medical Corpsman in Vietnam. He was a licensed counselor who worked over 29 years in the mental health field. Mr. Good worked for the Center for Individual and Family Services as Director of Community Support in Mansfield, Ohio. Dennis was employed at Pathways, Inc. for ten years and most recently as Clinical Director of The Crossroads in Albuquerque. He loved outdoor activities, especially sailing and also enjoyed kayaking, in the wooden kayaks he built. GRUBBS -- Clell Grubbs, 88, a resident of Albuquerque for over 45 years, died Sunday, October 24, 2004. She is survived by her children, James R. Grubbs and wife, Sandi, Mirinda R. Gerber and husband, Fred (Rick), Michael L. Grubbs and wife, Erica, Malcolm K. Grubbs and wife, Antoinette; sister, Betsy Swain and husband, Utah; brother, Jack Hines and wife, Margie; sister-in-law, Henny Grubbs; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. HALL -- James Francis Hall. It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and husband. James passed quickly from a recently diagnosed brain tumor on October 23, 2004. James was the husband of Margaret Burton-Hall. He is also fondly and lovingly remembered by his sister, Noreen Hall-Bowden; his son, Russell Anderson; and his daughters, Diana Hubbert, Beth Brizee, and Erin Morin. James is also survived by his grandchildren; Evan Anderson, Lauren and Sean Hubbert, Morgan and Taylor Brizee, and Ovid and Elizabeth Morin. He is also tenderly remembered by his three nephews, Brian, Brett, and Bennett Koester; and many friends and extended family members. James attended school in Brooklyn, New York where he was born on October 22, 1934 to William John Hall and Marguerite Ellis Hall, both from Ireland. James graduated from St. Michaels D.H.S. January 28, 1952. He graduated with studies in aeronautical engineering from St. Louis University and went directly to build an exemplary career with the U.S. Air Force. After twenty-two years as an Air Force navigator, working with SAT, MAC, TAC, Project Blue Book, and Compass Arrow, he retired with pride - having served his country with passion. He then worked for twelve years for the U.S. Postal Service. He was devoted to his family and friends. James took many trips to Arizona and California to see his grandchildren born and raised. Services were held for the family on Sunday, October 24, 2004. HERN -- PIEDAD R. Mrs. Piedad (Peggy) R. Hern, 71, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on October 25, 2004. Mrs. Hern is survived by her beloved husband of fifty six years, Mr. Frank Hern, Sr.; three sons, Frank Hern, Jr. and wife, Sandra, Kenneth Hern and wife, Rita, Glenn Hern and Jackie Smith; two sisters, Eloisa Dominguez and Theresa Rivera; three brothers, Eddie Rivera, Paul Vasquez and wife, Leeanne, Felix Vasquez and wife, Julia; eight grandchildren, Victoria, Valerie, Jeffery, A'Drianna, Bowman, Samantha, Amanda, and Monique; her great-grandchildren, Dylan and Tabatha; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. HILL -- Harvey Lee. Mst. Sgt. Harvey Lee Hill, 69, a resident of Albuquerque since 1976, died Sunday, October 24, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Thais Hill of Albuquerque, NM; daughters, Rosetta Bazart of Kansas City, MO and Kelly Sustaita and husband, Vince of Albuquerque, NM; sons, Kevin Hill and Harvey L. Hill, both of Phoenix, AZ; numerous grandchildren; brother, Robert Hill of Cincinnati, OH; sisters, Greta Byers and Norma Newton, both of Kansas City, MO, and Florine Hill of Los Angles, CA; sister-in-law, Marvine Wainright of Rio Rancho, NM; and friend, Robert Russell of Albuquerque, NM, who was like a son. HUIE -- Agueda R. Huie, 89, a lifelong resident of Las Vegas, NM passed away at Alta Vista Regional Hospital on October 22, 2004. She was born on January 19, 1915 to Josefita Baca and Donato Rivera, who precede her in death. Also preceded in death by her husband, San Huie; her twin sister, Eulalia Cliggett; and brother-in-law, George C. Cliggett; sister-in-law, Margaret Rivera. Agueda is survived by her daughter, Juanita H. Fuller and husband, Mike; sons, Tom Huie and wife, Anna and Louis Huie and wife, Jan; grandchildren: Tomasina Huie, Robert Huie and wife, Michelle, and Jonathan J. Huie. Rosary services were recited on Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM. Father C. KIRK -- Frances Phyllis LeFeber Kirk, 85, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2004. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, George F. Kirk of Albuquerque; daughter, Roxana Kirk of Albuquerque; son, Gregory Kirk of Boston, MA; grandson, Brandon G. Kirk; nieces, JoAnn Gleason and Bette Erwin, both of Arizona. Frances was a graduate of Albuquerque High School in 1936. She attended the University of NM and was the drum major for the State of New Mexico Marching Band at the Chicago World's Fair in 1936. Frances was a member of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Business Women's Sorority since 1941, was the Queen of Job's Daughters, and played in the Albuquerque Little Theatre. She was an active member of the St. Mark's on the Mesa Episcopal altar guild for 30 years and a docent at the Albuquerque Museum for many years. Frances worked for New England Life Insurance and Bray & Banes Life Insurance. Services will be held on Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at St. Mark's on the Mesa Episcopal Church, 431 Richmond Place NE, with Fr. David Luckenbach officiating. MURRAY -- Wanda Gerene Mitchell Murray passed peacefully from this life, Sunday, October 24, 2004, surrounded by her family. Born October 10, 1932, Gerene grew up in Prague, Oklahoma. Gerene met Jack Lee Murray during his Christmas leave in 1951. They were married on March 4, 1952. She stood faithfully by his side for over 52 years, supporting him through a 28-year Navy career and many years of retirement. Gerene and Jack enjoyed being a part of the square dance community, where Jack was a caller. They also greatly enjoyed traveling throughout the country in their motor home, often accompanied by their granddaughters. Gerene loved to go to Las Vegas and Laughlin, where she usually won at the casinos. Gerene and Jack raised their two children, Janet and Dennis, to be strong and loving people. Through countless military moves, Gerene always made her children feel at home, and she always gave them a place to come home to once they grew up. Gerene loved all things natural and beautiful. She enjoyed sitting in her backyard, especially when it was raining, drinking tea, looking at her beloved pink roses, and soaking in the songs of the birds. Proud of her Native American heritage, she loved to immerse herself in the culture of her ancestors. She loved to shop, hot rod, and sew. Gerene loved being a wife, a mother, and a Nana. Gerene is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Jasper and Hattie Alena Young Mitchell; her brothers, Glen Ernest and Ralph Eugene Mitchell; her sister, Loretta Jean Mitchell Hicks Henson; and her half-brother, Wilson Mitchell. We know she must be enjoying seeing them all again. Gerene is survived by her husband, Jack Murray; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Michael Miller; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Diana Murray; granddaughters, Michelle York, Christina Murray, and Holly Murray-Sedillo and their families, including great-grandchildren, Christopher York Jr. and Edward Jr., Topanga, Diamond, and Emerald Sedillo. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Gerene was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. NEES -- Fred Scott Nees, 50, born August 16, 1954 in Omaha, NE, went home to be with his wife, Ann, and the Lord, Saturday, October 23, 2004. At the age of six, his family moved to Norman, Oklahoma, where he graduated from high school in 1972. On June 30, 1973, he married his one and only sweetheart, Ann C. Hill. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a BS degree in Accounting and went to work for Peat, Marwick, Mitchell, and Coe, where he received his CPA license. In September 1989, he and his family moved to Albuquerque where he went to work for Sandia Labs as an auditor and purchasing accountant. Fred is survived by his son, Brian, of Albuquerque; his son, Kyle, currently serving in Iraq, and his wife, Yulia; brother, Frank Nees and wife, Jan, and their children, Scott and Bianca Nees and Stefanie, all of Norman, OK; a sister, Julie Nees-Seagraves and husband, Don and their children, Uriah, Margaret, Madeline, Tom, and Doug, all of Houston, TX. He is also survived by his wife's parents, Don and Els-Marie Hill of Norman, OK; sisters-in-law, Cherry Welch and husband, Joe and their children, Jason and Christina; and Donnette Elms and husband, Terry and their children, Laurie and Todd. SCHOTTER -- William "Mike" Schotter, 80, passed away on October 23. Mike was born on December 16, 1923 in Washington, IN. He was a prominent business man in Albuquerque for 52 years. He was also a member of St. Mark's on the Mesa Episcopal Church, the Mesonic Lodge and was an Elk. Although Mike enjoyed cooking, gardening and many other hobbies, his true passions were his family, friends and customers. Mike is preceded in death by LaFern Schotter, his loving wife of 46 years. He is survived by his sister, Elvera Yates and husband, Bob; daughters, Sandy Schotter, Paula Pompa and husband, Ray, Brenda Hull and husband Cameron; grandchildren, Ryan Schotter, Courtney and Lesley Pompa, and Sean and Keenan Hull. Mike's strong, loving leadership and positive attitude on life will be greatly missed. Services for Mike Schotter will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 28 at St. Mark's on the Mesa. SHORTLE -- George Samuel Shortle passed away suddenly in his home near Chillili October 19, 2004. George was born June 4, 1949 in Baltimore, Maryland to Parrie Ann Van Hyning Shortle and Albuquerque native Dr. James Samuel Shortle. His family returned to Albuquerque in 1950. George attended Albuquerque Public Schools, graduating from Valley High in 1968. He attended New Mexico State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy in 1972. George was a man of many talents, many interests, with a powerful work ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit. From his earliest years he always had a job, and always won the friendship and respect of his co-workers for his expert skills, responsibility, generosity, and sociability. He owned and operated a farm in Tucumcari, owned a custom farming business, served as the manager of a large institutional farm, sold insurance, and worked as a welder, as a heavy equipment operator, and as a foreman on construction crews in New Mexico, Colorado, Okalahoma, and Texas. He was working currently working for A.S. Horner company. He took great pride in his resume. He was a mechanic who could fix anything, a carpenter, plumber, electrician, equipment operator, manager, and knowledgeable investor. George loved dogs, was an expert horseman, and enjoyed hunting. He loved Southwestern art. He loved all kinds of music, was a wonderful singer, a member of the Albuquerque Boy's Choir in his youth, and played the guitar and violin. He loved to cook, and was a master of the barbeque. Family and friends always looked forward to his meals. George loved people, and had great charm and conversation. To be with George was to have a wonderful time. His generosity was boundless. To know George was to have a friend who would do anything within his power to help in time of need, whether great or small. He was wise, a problem solver, and a valued counselor. His daughter Araina Clouse, son Cody Shortle, grandson Nicolas Clouse, sisters Parrie Pleyte and Sarah Shortle, and brother Jim Shortle, survive George. They all love George deeply. They will miss his physical presence and the joy that he brought to their lives, but he will be in their thoughts and hearts always. STACKPOLE -- Vera Stackpole was called by our Lord Monday, October 25, 2004. She was the youngest daughter of Simon and Andrea Duran, born in Chaperito, NM. She married James Richard Stackpole on August 7, 1949 in Las Vegas, NM. She and her husband moved to Albuquerque in 1953. She was a lifelong Roman Catholic and a member of Risen Savior Catholic Church. Vera belonged to the Blue Army, the Altar Rosary Society, and Casa Angelica Auxiliary. She was always charitable and generous to those in need. She was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed her children and spoiling her grandchildren. Vera is preceded in death by her husband, James; sisters and brother: Melecia Delgado, Petra Duran, Celia Madrid, Dora Martinez, Tomasita Cashmere, Magdalena Gallegos, Mela Caputo, and Toni Duran and only brother, Apolonio Duran. She is survived by her daughters: Linda Stackpole of Albuquerque and fiancee, Steve Harris of Chilhowie, VA, Anna Marie Guillen and husband, Vincent of Albuquerque; sons: Butch Stackpole and wife, Johanna of Sedillo, NM, Noel Stackpole and John Stackpole of Albuquerque; grandchildren: Kimberley Ortega of Phoenix, AZ, Katrina Stackpole, James Robert Stackpole and Joseph Noel Stackpole of Sedillo, NM; numerous nieces, nephews, and many other relatives also survive her. VALENZUELA -- Eli G. Valenzuela, Jr. went to be with the Lord on October 25, 2004 at the age of 61. He was born on April 18, 1943 in Alpine, Texas. He is survived by his father Elijio M. Valenzuela, Sr.; son, Kevin Valenzuela and wife, Aimee; daughter, Janelle Valenzuela-Apodaca and husband, Lorenzo; brothers, Santiago Valenzuela, Sammy Valenzuela and wife, Rachel, Frank Valenzuela and wife, Diane, and Lorenzo Valenzuela and wife, Elizabeth; sisters, Annabell Leach and husband, Dean, Ortencia Gallegos and husband, Gene, Clara Casiano and husband, Ariel, Elena Zamora and husband, Jacque, and Ester Valenzuela; girlfriend, Vivian Taylor; ex-wife, Gloria Grace Valenzuela; and his grandchildren, Matthew Eli Valenzuela, Jada Valenzuela, Kyle Apodaca, and Isabella Apodaca. VARELA -- Alice Gurule Varela, born Jan 24, 1939, went home to be with the lord on Oct 25, 2004. She was a resident of Albuquerque formally of Ojo Caliente, NM. She is survived by her loving sister, Tessie Galvez and husband Donald of Ojo Caliente, NM; sons, Robert Gurule, Lawrence Gurule, and Ramon Varela; daughters, Dolores Gurule and husband Danny, Geraldine Baca and husband Johnny, all of Albuquerque. Lifelong friend, Linda Pena; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; also many nieces, nephews, and friends who love and will miss her. YEAGER -- Lila Lee Yeager passed away Thursday morning, October 21, 2004 in Montrose, CO. She was born in Worland, WY on January 21, 1928 to Sumner and Minnie Haynes. She had been a resident of Albuquerque, NM for the past 6 years up until October 1, 2004 when she moved to Montrose. She is survived by her three children: Bryan Yeager and wife, Mary in Montrose, CO, daughter, Pam and husband, Rich Lee in Lake Jackson, TX, and daughter, Beckie and husband, Lee Wilson in Albuquerque, NM. She has nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She also has three sisters: Faye Mathers of Grants, NM, Connie Sallee of Meadville, MO, and Pat Daniels of Dallas, TX. She was married to Billy Joe Yeager on May 21, 1947; he preceded her in death on May 17, 1994. She was employed at Melloy Nissan for 6 years until her retirement on September 24, 2004. She was an awesome wife, Mother, Sister, and friend. She was an excellent example of a Godly woman. She loved Jesus with all of her heart and served Him faithfully to the end. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. There will be a Memorial Service for her on Thursday, October 28, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at The Potter's House Christian Center, 907 4th St., SW, Albuquerque, NM. There will be a graveside service in Lubbock, TX. She will be buried alongside of her husband of 48 years. Services Pending.
