DARRAH --
Elmo D. Darrah, on Tuesday, October 12, 2004, 7:30 a.m., Daddy awoke not to face the day, but to face eternal life with his Lord. He entered this world on October 10, 1913, in Vallecitos, New Mexico. In 1952, Elmo married Freada Lappin of Caldwell, Idaho. They had four children: Donna, Steve, Tom, and Carolyn. God preserved and blessed them, and the family grew to include: Donna's husband, Virgil Hall, Steve's wife, Carmen, Tom's wife, Cathy and Carolyn's fiancee, Steven Sederwall. Elmo loved his expanded family, which also included grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and spiritual children. Elmo was 72 when KOB retired him. He loved his work so much that he would have worked as long as he was able. Years after most are retired, he was still climbing radio towers to change beacon lights purely for the love of the service to the industry. He would condition himself by hiking the La Luz trail. He was involved with many youth organizations, teaching and facilitating radio communications. The little fellow was a giant of faith. He loved his God and was passionate in his study of science and its perfect cohesion with God's word. Daddy was the first one we knew that had a personal computer. Up until the end, he was determined to keep us up on the latest technologies and advances in Science. Although he was an old timer, his feet were firmly planted in the here and now and in the future. Daddy was a Trekkie, and now he is the ultimate space traveler, viewing the cosmos and discussing his discoveries with its Creator. Celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 16, 2004, 3:00 p.m., at Bethel Heritage Church 7800 Holbrook NE. French Mortuary 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE 275-3500
