BRADSHAW -- Robert "Bob" Bradshaw, age 77 and a resident of Albuquerque since 1990, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pat; daughters, Kate Bradshaw and Deborah Bradshaw; and granddaughter, Alexis Bradshaw Robison, all of Albuquerque. Bob was born in Estancia Valley, the only child of Robert and Lucy Bradshaw. After serving in the US Navy, he graduated from the University of New Mexico with a degree in electrical engineering. Bob retired from Los Alamos National Laboratory after 30 years of service. He spent recent years with his family and was an avid supporter of UNM academics and athletics, a fisherman, a horseman, and a doting grandfather. Memorial service will be held Saturday, September 11, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel. Reception will follow in the Westside -Chapel Reception Center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Public Academy of Performing Arts, where Bob's granddaughter attends high school, 4665 Indian School Rd. DANIELS -- Elmer Daniels, 78, passed away on September 2, 2004. DEAN -- Nowlan Kelly Dean, MD, (Colonel, USAF, Ret), 68, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away Thursday, September 2, following a severe West Nile virus infection. He is survived by his wife, Ann; children: Matthew Walker and Andrea Walker of Albuquerque, Kelly Dean, Lyn Dean and wife, Lynley, Eric Dean, Dixie Dix and husband, Brent, Dana Dean, and David Dean of Utah; 9 grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Stockard of California and Marilyn Black and husband, Gerry of Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martha Myrle Kelly Dean and Clarence Nowlan Dean. Nowlan K. Dean was born on December 28, 1935, in Midway, UT. He graduated from Wasatch High School in Heber City, UT, in 1954, and from University of Utah with a B.S. in Zoology in 1959, and a M.S. in Zoology in 1962. He graduated from Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC, in 1966. He completed an internship and residency at Latter-Day Saints Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT, and completed his residency in General Surgery at Letterman General Hospital, Presidio of San Francisco in 1968. He was a life member of the Air Force Association, the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States, the Aerospace Medical Association, and was active as a NRA Life Member and training counselor. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 10, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd Chapel. DEARHOLT -- Rose A. Dearholt passed away September 6, 2004 at her daughter's home in Lakeside, AZ while surrounded by close family. She was raised in Magdalena, NM and shared her early life with thirteen brothers & sisters. After graduating from High School, she went to Washington D.C. to work at the Pentagon. After some years, she returned to New Mexico and went to work with Mountain Bell. Rose married Samuel Ray Dearholt, Jr. in February 1953. Samuel worked for the FAA and they first moved to Alaska, and then relocated to Albuquerque, NM where they spent the rest of their time together. Rose then decided to work as a bookkeeper at a private school, Sunset Mesa, where she worked for 20 years, enjoying the school and the children. She was a member of the Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church family in Albuquerque. Rose enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking incredible desserts and candies as some of her hobbies. She also enjoyed traveling with her family and spent many vacations with them in Colorado, Canada, Mexico, Washington, Oregon, Indiana, and Arizona with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Rose is survived by her daughter, Carla (Carl) Wibel of Lakeside; son, Gregory (Carole) Dearholt; grandchildren, Tori & Milton Lau, Chris & Melanie Foster, Trevor & Jordan Schmidt; great-grandchildren, Evan & Sofia Lau; sister, Emma Armijo; brother, Junior Armijo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Dearholt, Jr.; daughter, Marta Rose; parents, Solomon & Candelaria Armijo; sisters, Dome Gilbert, Lily Winston, Grego Pino, Mary Molinar; brothers, Mayo, John, Claude, Martin, Willie, and Raymond Armijo. DISCO -- Alexander Henry Disco III, 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1950, died early Wednesday, September 8, 2004. He is survived by his sons, Gary Disco and wife, Michel, Alex Van Disco and wife, Susan; granddaughter, Desiree Disco, all of Albuquerque. Mr. Disco owned and operated "Disco Display House" for many years here in Albuquerque. He was a member of the Elks Club, the Shriner's Royal Order of Jesters, Mason's and the Albuquerque Country Club. HERRERA -- Raul "Dr. H" Herrera, 80, a resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, September 8, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Haydee Herrera; children, Marcia Yoos and husband, Mark, Mike Herrera, Heidi Herrera, Raoul Herrera and wife, Ruby, and Marisol Herrera; grandchildren, Samantha, RJ, Neil, and Stephen; and sister, Marta Serrano. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Dr. Herrera was always willing to put his family first. He came to the United States from Cuba in 1960 and was proud to become a US Citizen in 1970. He received his PhD in law from the University of Havana before coming to the USA. Dr. Herrera received his Masters Degree in Library Science at the U. of Kansas/Emporia and later was Director of Library Sciences at NM Highlands for 20 years. HINDI -- Ednen Hindi passed away peacefully in Albuquerque on September 5, 2004 at the age of 81. Born on April 4, 1923, he grew up on the family's sheep, cattle, and horse ranch in Torrance County and attended school in Duran, NM. Ednen attended high school and college at New Mexico Military Institute, where he excelled in academics and was an accomplished athlete, and graduated in 1943. He subsequently served in the US Army from 1943 to 1952. As a lieutenant platoon commander in the First Armored Division, he served in Europe during WWII, earning the Bronze Star. He was stationed in Texas during the Korean War, at which time he was promoted to Captain. He married Billie Ray Smith from Floydada, TX, in 1948. After leaving the military, they lived on the ranch and raised 3 children. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Vaughn. He enjoyed hunting and photography, and was an avid horseman, inventive rancher, and loving husband, father, and grandfather. Ed was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at an early age. Through the many years of his illness, he never lost his love of life or sense of humor. Even as his illness progressed, he continued to use his abilities for weaving, pottery making, and other creative artwork. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Clarita Duran (1973), from Duran and Alex Hindi (1974), who immigrated to the US from Zahle, Lebanon in 1908; his wife, Billie Ray Smith (1989), his eldest son, Ednen Alex (2001); and his sister, Hafiza (Tony) Gallegos (2000). He is survived by his son, Robert D. Hindi, M. D. of San Francisco; daughter, Sarah Hindi and Maureen Eckroth of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Ednen William, Khara Rose, Amarah Kay, Jhad Alex, all of Albuquerque; his sister, Samia (Harry) Doro, and brothers, Brahaim (Susie Garde), Sam (Amelia Vicente), Shafie (Emma Budagher), and Nabay (Vivian Tapia); 22 nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins, great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews. The family would like to sincerely thank the numerous caregivers for their care and support over the past several years, particularly the physicians, nurses, and hospital staff at the Spinal Cord Injury Unit of the Veterans Hospital in Albuquerque. LEMON -- Mildred O. Lemon, age 86, passed away on August 25, 2004. Mildred was born on December 2, 1917, in Youngstown, OH, to Basil and Rose Ores-Conin. She retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army, earned a masters degree from Denver University, loved being a mother and especially a grandmother. MARKER -- Thomas Franklin Marker, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948, passed away on September 6, 2004. MERLEY -- June Marie Annis Cummins Merley, 75, died September 4, 2004, in Albuquerque after a lengthy illness. She had been a resident of Academy House assisted living facility at 6305 Truchas, and had been in hospice care with Vista Care Hospice. She was born June 12, 1929 in Helena, MT to Eldon and Goldie Cummins and was third generation Helena Valley native. She attended school in East Helena, and graduated from Helena H.S. in 1947. In February 1947 she eloped with the trumpet player in the band, Richards H. Merley. They had a secret wedding in Missoula with the other band members, Bruce Berg and Ray Hoffman, as best man and 'maid of honor.' She toured with the bands, the Ray Hoffman Four, and the Knovelty Knights, for years, then started the family. She taught piano and worked dance jobs every weekend for over 50 years, bringing joy to all with her music. June is survived by 3 sons and their families: Kim R. Merley and his wife, Vicki, of Albuquerque, their son Michael Merley at the U of T, Austin, and their daughter, Angela Merley at the U of A in Tucson; Tod Merley of Seattle and his two children, Hannah and Matthew Merley; Reid Merley and wife, Sherry Parmater of Kalispell, MT. She is also survived by her brother, Jack Cummins and his wife, Georgia, in Gardnerville, NV; and her aunt, Shirley Cummins of Helena. She was preceded in death by both parents and her husband. Cremation has taken place. A Service will be held Sunday September 12 in Albuquerque. A Service will also be held October 3 at the Phoenix temple of Self-Realization Fellowship. Final Services will be on October 9 at Hagler-Anderson Funeral Home in Helena, MT with Graveside Service following at Sunset Memorial Gardens in the Helena Valley.

MITCHELL -- Lillian Ruella Mitchell, age 90, of Hot Springs, AR, formerly of Arkadelphia, died Wednesday, September 8, 2004. She was born February 8, 1914 in Little Rock to Kate Cameron Martin. She was Married to Hollis Mitchell on November 3, 1934. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She was a Registered Nurse; and was retired from Sandia Air Force Base in Albuquerque, NM. She was a member of Baring Cross Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Bill Schenke of Hot Springs; a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Linda Mitchell of Fayetteville; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be 12 noon Saturday at the Pinecrest Memorial Park in Little Rock with Rev. James Calhoun and Rev. Charles Polston officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs, AR. MOLLO -- Mary Ann Mollo, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1983, died Tuesday September 7, 2004. Mary was born in New Jersey on June 14, 1917. She was the daughter of Rose and Constantino Traina. Mary was a woman of great determination during her life. She graduated in 1939 from St. John's University with a degree in Pharmacy at a time when it was uncommon for women to earn higher education degrees. It was here that she met her beloved husband, Charles Mollo, also deceased. While raising children, Mary changed careers and became an elementary school teacher. For twenty years, she taught science and math at St. Mary, Mother of Jesus School in Brooklyn, NY. Mary was actively involved throughout her life in the St. John's University Alumni Association. After relocating to Albuquerque, she became a member of the Golden Ages and the Welcome Wagon. She was also an altar volunteer at the La Vida Llena Retirement Community where she lived. She was known for her love of life and people. Mary is survived by her daughter, Geraldine Mollo of Paris, France; her daughter, Deanna Adams and husband, Thomas of Livingston, NJ; son, Charles Mollo and wife, Janice of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Kathy Groves-Wright, Christine Mollo, Kerry Johnson, and Charles Mollo III; and great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Johnson. A memorial gathering for Mary will be held on Friday evening, September 10, from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. at La Vida Llena, 10501 Lagrima De Oro, NE,. Albuquerque, NM 87111. MORRISON -- Donald Ross Morrison, 82, died Sunday, September 5, 2004, at University Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Patricia K. Morrison; children, Mary Elisabeth (Betsy) Morrison of Albuquerque, John and his wife, Joanna Morrison of Henderson, NV, and Patricia Ann Morrison of Sonora, CA; grandchildren, Frog and his wife, Dawn Rainbowstar of Manitou Springs, CO, Elizabeth and her husband, Billy Wirth, Nicholas and Andrew Morrison of Henderson, NV, Jacob Dixon of Sonora, CA and Rachel and Joseph Dixon of San Diego, CA; great-grandson, Shean Patrick Rainbowstar of Manitou Springs, CO; brother, and sister-in-law, Allan and Eunice Morrison, sister-in-law, Martha Morrison of Fresno, CA, and brother, and sister-in-law, Roderick and Jean Morrison of Idaho Falls, ID. Mr. Morrison was preceded in death by his parents, Christine and Emery; and his brother, John Morrison. Don was born May 3, 1922, in Tacoma, WA, grew up in Big Creek, CA, and served as a naval officer in the South Pacific during World War II. He taught mathematics at the University of Wisconsin and Tulane University before moving to Albuquerque in 1955 to work at Sandia Laboratory. He joined the faculty of the Department of Mathematics at the University of New Mexico in 1971, retiring in 1989 as Professor Emeritus of Mathematics and Computer Science. He was a lifelong Democrat. In accordance with Don's wish, there will not be a memorial service. Friends are invited to visit with his family on Saturday, September 11, between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., at the Martineztown House of Neighborly Service, 808 Edith Blvd. NE. PAZ -- On September 8, 2004, our heavenly father called Anastacio Sanchez Paz to his home. Anastacio was born in Artesia, NM on May 26, 1930 to Nickolasa Sanchez Paz, deceased, and was raised by various family members. He is survived by his wife, Belzora Gomez Paz; brother, Prudencio Roblero; his three children and in-laws; Laura Paz and Rene Villa from Roswell, Luis Paz and Sharon Arp from Albuquerque, Loretta Paz-Judiscak and Daniel Judiscak from Las Cruces; his loving grandchildren, Rudy Joe Romero, Mario Paz, Ernesto Analla, Marisela Analla, Andrew Judiscak, Alex Paz, and Alisha Paz; and numerous brother- and sister-in-laws; nieces; and nephews. His love of country initiated his service in the United States Army. He served from March 7, 1947 to August 24, 1948, with the 90th Quartermaster Railhead Company, Fort Sill, OK and was assigned to Special Services. Shortly after being honorably discharged from the armed forces, he attended barber school in San Antonio, TX. Upon completion of the program, he moved to Roswell and married Belzora Gomez on August 24, 1958. He was the sole owner of Ace Barber Shop and after 50 years, retired as a Master Barber. He was an active member of Saint Peter's Catholic Church and the Disabled American Veterans Association. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was very conscientious of his friends and neighbors. He loved hunting, music, taking his family on field trips, and cooking Chile con Carne "afuera en la holla negra" His adventurous life and work experiences included sheep shearing and herding, movie theater projectionist, and cotton picker. A Rosary will be held at Saint Peter's Catholic Church at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 10, 2004. A Funeral Mass will be conducted by his nephew, Father Miguel Briseno, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2004, at Saint Peter's Catholic Church. Following the mass, Anastacio will be cremated and may he rest peacefully in God's presence. Pallbearers will be Mr. Paz's grandchildren, Rudy Joe Romero, Mario Paz, Ernesto Analla, Marisela Analla, Andrew Judiscak, Alex Paz, and Alisha Paz. SCHOEN -- Mabel G. Schoen, 88, passed away Tuesday evening, September 7, 2004 at a local hospital. Mabel was born August 9, 1916 in Schleswig, IA to Claus and Catherine Gottburg. She graduated from the University of Iowa with a B. S. in Nursing in 1940 and was an R.N. from the state of Iowa. Mabel married John W. Schoen on November 16, 1940 in St. Joseph, MO. She moved to Albuquerque with her husband and son in 1957 and was a member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church. Mabel was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her four siblings. She is survived by her son, John E. Schoen and wife, Patricia of McGregor, TX; and her grandchildren, Laura Schoen of McGregor and John W. Schoen of Austin, TX; two nieces; and a nephew. The family sincerely appreciates the care of the staff at La Vida Llena and Lovelace Medical Center and the many kindnesses and friendship of Ron Sartain and Tom Knutila. A Memorial Service will be held at La Vida Llena at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity or educational institution. STOCKTON -- Santiago Jim Stockton, 62, a lifetime resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, September 7, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Jolene Hogrefe Stockton; son, Santiago Stockton of Albuquerque; brothers, Ernest Stockton and wife, Loretta of Denver, CO and Frank Stockton and wife, Sandra of Albuquerque; mother, Rose Baca Stockton Smith of Albuquerque; and other loving family members. Santiago was a compassionate APS teacher for 25 years. He enjoyed his work as an adapted PE teacher and was rewarded many times over the years. Santiago also made special tin angels. He loved the mountains, the ocean, and everything in between. Santiago was a lover of life, nature, his Lord, and his family. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. "We love you Jim." SUTHERLAND -- Randa Leona. Former Albuquerque resident, Randa Leona Sutherland crossed over on Saturday, 9-4-04 in Mesa, AZ. She was born 5-12-23. Her survivors include her childhood sweetheart and husband, Dr. John Sutherland of the family home; son, Dr. Gary Sutherland and wife, Brigitte from Elephant Butte; daughter, Ginger and husband, Dave Williams of Chandler, AZ; and daughter, Dixie and husband, Dave Loving of Dallas, TX. Survivors also include 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Randa embraced life. She was the 1st woman in NM to fly a jet. She raced airplanes for the chiropractic association. She fished Navajo Lake for salmon in the dead of winter. She wintered in San Carlos, Mexico for over 20 years. She traveled the world. She loved life. Her ashes will be scattered over the Tooth of Tyne in Northern NM.

VELASQUEZ -- Ernest "Ernie" S. Velasquez, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, September 7, 2004. He is survived by his daughters, Mary Chavez and husband, Ernest A. and Toni Velasquez, all of Albuquerque, and Dorothy Montano of Rio Rancho; son, Juan Velasquez and wife, Yvonne of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Denise Cruz and husband, Alex, Ramyann Forrest and husband, Jeff, Aprilyn Chavez, Melissa Apodaca and husband, Speedy, and Carlos Velasquez; six great-grandchildren, Sabrina, Logan (Jose Pinos), Jacquelyn, Santiago, Destino, and Matias; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Braulia in 2001; son, Ernest Velasquez Jr; son-in-law, Jose Montano; and several brothers and sisters. Ernie worked for Hydro-Conduit Corporation from 1958 until his retirement in 1984. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and gardening. WHEELER -- Harry P. Wheeler, 89, a resident of Belen, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2004. He was an avid golfer and has resided in Rio Communities since 1980. Harry was a member of the RSVP Program and volunteered in assisting and managing the Valencia County Storehouse for 22 years. He retired after 20 years of service as a civil engineer for Sandia Corporation in Albuquerque. Harry is preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Ada Wheeler; his loving wife of 51 years, Bonnie; and his sister, Blanche Winkler. He is survived by his loving children, Greg Wheeler of Albuquerque; and Linda Sloop of Eastover, SC; one brother, Clerance Wheeler of Arnold, MO; and a granddaughter, Stephanie Sloop of Eastover, SC. Services will be held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel beginning with a viewing on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004 at 9:30 a.m. and a funeral service to follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Terrace Grove Cemetery.
