Vivian (Jean) passed away recently. She was born in Funkley, MN on February 29, 1932. She is survived by four children: Gail Carrick Peyton, CO, David, Severn, MD, Darrell, Homer, AK, and Scott Beeker, Severna Park, MD. She is also survived by her three brothers; David Hannigan, Beatty, NV, Jim Hannigan, Bemiji, MN., and Roger Hannigan of Funkley, MN., and four grandchildren; Alethea Beeker, Keene, NH., Gavin Beeker, Keene, NH., Nick Beeker, Homer, AK., and Kevin Beeker, also of Homer, AK. Jean graduated from Blackduck High School, Blackduck, MN. She enlisted in the Women's Air Force as a Radio Operator and retired with her now deceased husband, SMSgt. Samuel F. Beeker (retired) in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Jean was an active volunteer for the Lovelace Women's Auxiliary and she was also a Republican Committee Volunteer. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 11, 2004 from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. in The Chapel of Sunrise. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 12th, at 11:00 a.m., also in The Chapel of Sunrise. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Annie Mell Connell, 87, a lifetime resident of Mountainair, NM passed away Friday August 6, 2004 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born to Freelilng Irvin and Jettie Hannah Austin November 27, 1916 in Alba, Texas. Annie Mell was a school teacher in the Cedarvale, Liberty, Center Point and Gran Quivira area for many years. She also taught Sunday School at the Gran Quivira Church. She was a member of the church. She was a member of the Claunch Women's Club and the Cowbells. She and her husband ranched for years in the Gran Quivira areas. She is survived by her son, Wayne and his wife, Melody Connell of Gran Quivira; daughters - Marlys and her husband, Keith Elder of Billings, Montana; Mellene and her husband, Fred Moore of Mountainair, NM; her grandchildren- Kent and Elaina Elder of Alaska, Dawn and Greg Ledgerwood of Arizona, Jayson and Dina Moore of Belen, Jamye and Michelle Moore of Willard, Colvin Connell of Willard, Vanessa and Matthew Connell of Gran Quivira; her sister- Inez Furlow of Tucson, Arizona; her sisters-in-laws- Minnie Edna Connell, Marie Connell and Nora Austin, and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Leon and Inez Connell of Lemitar, NM; and many nieces and nephews. Annie Mell was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be missed by those who knew and loved her. Annie Mell will lie in state Sunday, August 8, 2004 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Harris-Hanlon chapel in Mountainair, NM. Services will be Monday, August 9, 2004--- 1:00 p.m. at the First Assembly of God in Mountainair with Rev. Darrell Roberts, Rev. Bobbie Neely , Rev. G. B. Hisel and Rev. James Pinkard officiating. Burial will be at the White Lake Cemetary at Gran Quivira, NM. Pallbearers will be: Kent Elder, Jayson Moore, Jamye Moore, Colvin Connell, Matthew Connell, Danny Prather and Tanner Dunlap. Honorary pallbearers will be: Wess Wells and Wayne Connell. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Mountainair, NM.

John T. Craig, 84, of Albuquerque died suddenly at home, July 28, 2004. He was born April 22, 1920 in Fayetteville, AR. He is survived by his sister, Mary C. Hewett, her 5 children and 7 cousins. Jack, as known to all, was a medic in WWII, and graduated from the University of Michigan College of Architecture and Design in 1946. He worked his entire career in interior design at Eckerts of Albuquerque. Jack was a long-time supporter of the Santa Fe Opera and numerous charities. He will be missed by his family and friends. Donald Dwight Hesselbarth, 89, a resident Rio Rancho and formerly of Albuquerque, died Friday, August 6, 2004. He is survived by his daughter, Karyn S. Ogonowski of Rio Rancho; granddaughter, Amber L. and husband, James Coburn of Rio Rancho; brothers, Wayne Hesselbarth and wife, Wilma of Santa Maria, CA, Maynard and wife, Opal of Hesselbarth of Grand Junction, CO and Keith R. and wife, Toby of Santa Maria, CA; sister, Redessa Holman of Camden, MI; and cousin, Naomi Flint of Salina, KS. Mr. Hesselbarth was an active member of Paradise Hills United Methodist Church and a former employee of Sandia National Laboratories, retiring in 1980 after 30 years of service. Bessie Sanchez. Born December 29, 1931, was called home to be with the Lord July 17, 2004. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Juan Jose and Rosa Sanchez. Bessie is survived by her brothers, sisters, in-laws, and her many nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday August 10, 2004 at San Felipe De Neri Church. Burial of her cremains will follow at the Las Nutrias Cemetery in Las Nutrias, NM. She will be laid to rest next to her mother and father as she requested.

PEGGY, Mrs. Margaret "Peggy" C. Sanchez, 74, a resident of Belen, NM passed away at home with her loving family at her side on August 7, 2004. Mrs. Sanchez is survived by three daughters, Mary Agnes Sanchez, Virginia Jaramillo and Donna Sanchez; two sisters, Ellen Garcia and husband, Herman, and Mildred Archibeque; two grandchildren, Mark Jaramillo and wife, Veronica and Ann Marie Jaramillo; four great-grandchildren, Jacob Andres, Megan, Josef and Isabella; sister in law, Polly Lyons; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Sanchez was preceded in death by her loving husband, Manuel Sanchez; son, Andy Sanchez; parents, John and Agnes Lyons; three sisters, Lina Smith, Florence Chavez, and Dorothy Rubi; and two brothers, John "Buddy" Lyons, and George Lyons. Mrs. Sanchez is a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. A visitation for Mrs. Sanchez will be Tuesday evening from 5:30pm until 6:00pm in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW, with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. Final visitation will be Wednesday morning from 8:00am until 8:30 a.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, with Mass of the Resurrection to be celebrated at 9:00am at St. Edwins Catholic Church, 2105 Barcelona SW, by Father Bill Sanchez. Lillian Mazelle Spence, age 79, a resident of Loveland, CO since 1996, died Sunday, April 11, 2004. A graduate of Albuquerque High School, she worked as a secretary for the Albuquerque Public Schools until retirement. Lillian was also a member of Shepherd of the Valley Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and especially her family and pets. Her husband, Aaron R. Spence, whom she married November 29, 1944 in Albuquerque, NM preceded her in death December 6, 2002. Lillian was also preceded in death by her brothers, Ed White, Leroy White; and sister, Berneal White. She is survived by her sons, Duane Spence and wife, Terri of Ft. Collins, CO, Gene Spence and wife, Debbie of Albuquerque, NM; brothers, Paul White of Artesia, NM, and David White of Albuquerque, NM; five grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the MS Society of Northern Colorado with Allnutt Funeral Service. A Memorial Service will be held at Shepherd of the Valley Presbyterian Church on Montano on Saturday, August 14, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Leo Tracey, Sr., 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948, born in Nazlini, Arizona and a member of the Navajo tribe, passed away on Friday, August 6, 2004. His father's clan was the Descheenie and his mother's clan was the Tsenabahilnii. He is survived by his sons, Leo Tracey, Jr., Norman Tracey and Sam Tracey all of Albuquerque; daughters, Norma Chackee and husband, Ray of Los Lunas, NM and Margaret Haskew and husband, Aaron of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Everett, Gwen, Mike and Tracie; great-grandchildren, Chad, Cheyenne, Damon and Dakota; sisters, Annie Shirley, Maggie Begay and Mildred Hubbard; many nieces and nephews; and other family members of Torreon, NM and Huerferno, NM and many friends. Mr. Tracey was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Tracey; his parents, Sam and Ye kas Bah Tracey; brothers, Benjamin, John, Willie and Felix Tracey. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in WWII in the Pacific Islands. Leo worked all of his life in construction and as a minister on the Navajo reservation as well as to many other tribes. God was the center of his life, any problem that anyone had, he would minister to them using the Bible for all of his answers in both the English and Navajo language. He loved life and was a "proud" Grandpa and will be deeply missed by his family and many, many friends. Leo was an avid Lakers fan and loved all sports. Services will be held on Wednesday, 10:00 a.m., French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
